New characters appearing in the next two chapters:
Earl O'Donnell
Earl of Tir Connell (Donegal), and Ah O'Damhnill, The O'Donnell, 5'-10" tall, 190 pounds, 53 years old, gray hair, beard, and eyes
We reappeared in our room on the second floor. The twins were very passionate, hugging and kissing me now that we were alone. However, they had trouble walking, and nearly collapsed before I could get them to the bed.
"What's wrong with you?" I asked them.
"Too much wine," Almha slurred. The twins had said little at the meal, as was their usual practice. Now they had difficulty speaking even as well as they had learned to.
"Too much wine?" I asked, as the level in their glasses had hardly gone down at all. I had kept watch on that since they had never had wine before. They had often raised their glasses, but hadn't appeared to drink much.
"We refilled the glasses before we put them down," Airmid told me mentally, but with the same slur that Almha had in her voice. "We drank some of the ale too. It was very good," she added with a crooked grin on her face. Both Sisters were lying on the bed in their dresses by now.
"Can you remove your clothes?" I asked them. "We need to get some sleep."
"Clothes!?" they asked, and passed their hands over the dresses, but were unable to sit up by themselves. They were both tipsy, but couldn't sleep in their clothes. I managed to move both of them around on the bed and remove their dresses and hang them up. I removed my own clothes and got in bed. The Sisters moved closer to me before I spread a light blanket over us, and we were soon all asleep for the night.
I was awakened early in the morning by the Sister's moving around on the bed.
"Oh, my head!!" Airmid moaned sitting on the side of the bed. Almha was sitting on the night stand's pot relieving herself of all of the wine and ale that she had consumed last night. Airmid followed her, and I followed Airmid. When we had all finished, I emptied the contents of the container in the night stand, sending it to the river.
Both Sisters had fallen back on the bed by the time I had finished, still hung over. They were still not used to alcohol, and it had affected them more than someone who consumed it regularly.
"Have you learned your lesson?" I asked them with a smile at seeing their condition.
"Lesson!?" they groaned.
"Yes, the lesson about drinking too much. You see what the results are in the morning. This is not to mention that you could hardly walk last night," I told them.
"My head is killing me!!" both Sisters complained.
"If you have learned your lesson, I will teach you the spell to get rid of your hangover," I told them.
"Spell! Really!!" they asked, as I cast the spell to cure their hangover. After a minute or two they looked a lot better.
"Yes, we need to learn that spell!" they both told me excitedly. I taught them the spell, but warned them again about drinking too much.
After donning our robes, we went in search of breakfast. We met one of the servants on the way to the first floor, and he directed us to a small cozy dining area at the rear of the first floor with a window overlooking the river. Breakfast soon arrived from the kitchen on the ground floor. There was porridge and also oatmeal along with buttered bread and milk. The twins looked at both before turning a little green.
"I don't think we can eat," Airmid told me. They wound up having a mug of milk and a slice of rye bread for breakfast. I knew just how they felt, having learned from my own first serious run-in with too much to drink. I, however, hadn't mixed different drinks, as they had.
"There isn't a spell to help your stomachs," I told them with a smile. "Only time will take care of that." We returned to our room after breakfast, and the Sisters took another nap. An hour, or so later, there was a knock at our door. Doctor Niall was there when I answered it.
"Will you be able to look in on the Earl this morning?" he asked.
"Yes, the Sisters are still asleep. They had a bit too much to drink last night. I can go with you now while they rest," I told him.
The Earl was sitting up in bed when we arrived at his bedroom. He was a man of about fifty-three, 5'-10" tall, 190 pounds with gray hair, beard, and eyes. He was also used to being obeyed. Both Hugh and Lady O'Donnell were there trying to restrain him.
"No, Father, you must remain in bed until Doctor Niall says that it's safe for you to get out," we heard Hugh tell his Father, as we entered the room.
"I feel much better and need to be out of this bed," the Earl told his Son, obstinately.
"My Lord, you must be patient for a short time yet. Master O'Connell is here to check on your condition and determine what further treatments you need," Doctor Niall told him, to try to calm the Earl down.
"Master O'Connell?" the Earl asked, puzzled.
"Yes, my Lord. He, along with his assistants, is the one that cured you last night. He said then that you would require further treatments," Doctor Niall told him to further calm him down.
"Where is this Master?" the Earl demanded, as I stepped around Doctor Niall and into his vision.
"I'm right here, Earl O'Donnell."
"You!?" he demanded in shocked surprise. "You are the one that cured me? How can that be? You aren't old enough," he finished.
"Still, I am the one that used my Magic to keep you alive last evening, Earl O'Donnell. You still have several conditions that need to be addressed. One is a severe case of gout, which is an inflammation of the joints which has led to arthritis in your hands, elbows, knees, and feet. If not treated properly, it could lead to you being crippled," I informed him. "There are a few other things that need attention also. Your eyesight, hearing, and teeth among them," I finished.
"Does this mean more pills and potions, or stinking poultices?" he demanded, unhappily.
"No, I don't deal in those kinds of things. I will use my Green Magic to cure you. It will require several sessions over three or four days, as only so much can be done at a time," I told him.
"Do I have to remain in this bed for all of that time?" he demanded gruffly.
"No, you will be able to get out of bed after the first session," I assured him.
"Oh! That's better," he groused, as I moved over to the bed and took the chair near him.
"I will need to physically touch you, but your hand, or arm will do for that," I told him, and reached out to take his hand with mine, as I started a healing mantra, and sent my Green Magic to work on him. It was nearly fifteen minutes later when I released his hand.
"It will require another two sessions over the next two days to finish the treatments," I told him, as I rose from the chair.
"That's it!?" he asked, shocked. "There is no powder or wands? No shouting, or anything?"
"My Green Magic doesn't work that way," I told him.
"Where are my regular clothes?" the Earl demanded gruffly, as he moved to get out of the bed. Doctor Niall and I left while the Earl prepared to change clothes.
"What is this Green Magic that you referred to several times?" Doctor Niall asked me, as we moved down the hallway.
"That is my Mage Magic. It is the Magic of the earth, plants, and growing things. It also works on animals and humans," I told him.
"You certainly are a man of many surprises," he said. "My Wife was both shocked and amazed at the things that you did while at Drumboe Castle. Despite her snide remarks during the meal, you also impressed Murieann when you and your Apprentices just vanished last night," he told me before we parted. The Sisters were awake and seemed much better when I returned to our room. They were interested in seeing the market here.
Even though the major market day in Donegal was on Saturdays, and Fair Days were on the second Friday of each month, that didn't mean that there was no market activity in Donegal on other days. It just wasn't as grand, or as colorful. There were many shops located in the vicinity of the Diamond, or Town Square. For centuries it had been the hub of commerce and socializing. The sounds and smells of even this reduced market excited the Sisters. We had walked here from the castle since it wasn't far. Airmid and Almha stopped to look at everything in the market and along the streets in the various shops.
It wasn't until we came to the shops selling clothing, however, that the Sisters became really excited. They had seen the dresses worn by the women where we had stopped on our trip so far, and were desirous of more fashionable dresses than those they now had. They insisted that we go in to look.
"A good morning to you," the seamstress, in the shop they had finally chosen to visit, said, as we entered. "What can we do for you ladies?" she asked, putting down the piece that she was working on.
"We are looking for new dresses," Airmid told her.
"Ours are old fashioned," Almha added.
"I can make you new dresses, but it will take about two weeks," the woman told them.
"I'm afraid that we won't be here for two weeks," I told her, and received a disappointed look from her.
"I don't have anything to fit you that has already been completed. All of my stock is too large to fit you," she told the Sisters, who were very disappointed.
"Could we see some of the things that you have on hand?" I asked.
"They will all be too large for these ladies, and to take them in correctly would change the designs and still take considerable time," the woman told us in an annoyed voice.
"I will pay you for a presentation of what you have on hand," I told her, tired of her whining.
"Very well," she agreed, and began to bring out dresses that hung on several racks. After looking at a number of them, the Sisters found two that they especially liked.
"Yes!" Airmid and Almha said together, "Those are just right for us." One of the dresses was a light green and the other a light blue color.
"These dresses are much too large for either of you ladies," the woman insisted.
"We'll see about that," I said, as I cast the shrinkage spell on both dresses. The woman assisted both Sisters in putting on the dresses behind a screen, and of course, they fit perfectly, much to her surprise.
"That's not possible!" she insisted in shock on seeing the Sisters in the dresses.
"Of course it is," Airmid told her with a smile.
"Our Master is a Great Wizard!" Almha assured her also with a smile. The Sisters also picked out some underthings and stockings there. A gold coin from my backpack paid for everything with some change left over. A stop at a nearby cobbler's shop produced a new pair of slippers for each Sister and took care of the change. I sent their old sandals back to our room, just as I had their Apprentice robes.
We spent a little more time shopping and had something to eat at a stall featuring smoked salmon on brown Irish bread, but the twins stayed away from anything alcoholic. They did try the fresh apple cider however. It had been made some time previously and kept fresh with a preservation spell. The young man working there with his mother was having trouble with the spell. The problem was easily corrected, and I took him aside to speak to him.
"You are mispronouncing a part of the spell. That is the reason that it is giving you trouble," I told him quietly.
"That is the way that I was taught it, Master."
"Yes, I have seen and heard many corrupted spells during my visit here," I told him. "This is the correct way to cast the spell and also the sign for it," I told him, and demonstrated how the spell was to be cast and its sign for him before leading him through it several times.
"Thank you, Master. Do you live here in Donegal? Could I come to you for more instruction later?" he asked hopefully.
"I'm sorry. We are only visiting here and are on our way to Sligo Town to meet my Cousin. We will be returning to Dublin after that," I told a very disappointed young man. The spell that I had helped him with was a very simple one, and he barely had enough Talent to cast it reliably, but I didn't tell him that, as I didn't want to ruin his day. The Sisters had finished their snack by then, and we returned to the Castle.
It was late afternoon when we reached the castle, and we returned to our room for a little rest and some practice on new words. The twins were doing exceptionally well with their vocal training.
Kellen's narrative continues: The sun was shining on a clear and calm day when we arose only a little late on Thursday morning, the 3rd of July. The remnants of yesterday's storm were long gone, all but the mud in those streets and byways that were unpaved. The swans and their broods had even returned to the river and could be seen through our window. We all cleaned up before dressing and going down to eat. We were in the hotel's dining area having breakfast later when both Sisters...

The next things that I became aware of, as I awakened, were a pounding on the door of the screen wall and the sunlight visible through the tower window. It appeared that the sun had been up for some time. "Master O'Connell, are you ready for breakfast? It's late already," a voice was telling us. "Just a minute!" I called, as I got out of bed, and donned a robe and slippers that were near the bed. Sunshine had awakened at the sound of my voice. "You need to dress. Breakfast is...
The Minor Hall was a room longer than it was wide, about thirty feet long and around twenty feet wide. The ceiling was a good twelve feet above the flagstone floor. There was a large fireplace with a lightly carved mantle above it at the far end of the room. It looked large enough to roast a quarter side of beef in. The kitchen, at the other end of the building, had a similar sized fireplace but with a plain mantle above it. The walls here were paneled also, but in a plainer less elegant and...
I awoke in the morning to find Sunshine and Rose intertwined, hugging and kissing each other passionately. "It's so good to have you back. I missed you so," Sunshine whispered to her twin. "Yes, it is good to feel your arms around me again," Rose whispered back. It was shortly after this that the Sisters became aware that I was awake. Sunshine appeared to be afraid of me finding them like this. "Please do not draw the wrong conclusion from this, my Ken," she asked looking over at...

Characters introduced in the next two chapters: Master Fiacha Owner / Master of Fantstown Castle, 5'-5" tall, middle aged, overweight and balding Having prepared the place to receive the tree, I transferred back to the castle outside of the cell that held Master Eogham. Even this far along, I was still hesitant to continue, and stopped for a time to consider my choices. Nothing that I thought of would change what needed to be done. The Ancient Wizard was correct. A powerful Summoner...
New characters appearing in part two: Airmid Mac Sweeney Almha's twin, Kell's Wife, 5'-1" tall, 104 pounds, 34C-20-33, 16 years old, dark strawberry blond hair, green eyes, only a few freckles, but very cute. Almha Mac Sweeney Airmid's twin, also Kell's Wife, 5'-1" tall, 104 pounds, 34C-20-33, 16 years old, dark strawberry blond hair, green eyes, only a few freckles, but very cute. Kell's Story: After Ken boarded the ship, I walked up the quay a ways toward the market before...
We were unceremoniously ripped awake from a very deep sleep some time later by shouting and the sound of the castle's metal alarm being rung. We both bolted upright in the dark, and I quickly went to the arrow slit window facing the bawn to hear what was going on. I could see a fire in the bawn and men rushing to the walls. "WOLVES!!" I heard someone shout. "Wolves are attacking the village!" There was a pounding on the screen wall, as I quickly dressed, since we had gone to bed naked....
The O'Hallinan Sisters, Sunshine and Rose, and I returned to Glenquin Castle that evening. Eamon must have felt our return, for he soon appeared outside the screen wall to knock, and I admitted him in. "Did everything go well, Master Ken?" he asked. "Yes, they did, Eamon. Kell now has a Caastellan, guards, a cook, a mason, a carpenter, and a blacksmith among others. He is contemplating what changes he wants to make in the castle and its bawn. We also found Master Fiacha's treasure, so...
We had not been prepared for the appearance of the chest containing the Treasure of the Firbolg Kings, when it appeared on the stage in front of us along with the Eternal Flame after Grandfather Aengus asked his question. Everyone in the front rows of seats were staring at the contents of the chest, and those farther back were standing, so they could see what was in the chest. A murmur soon started as to what it was, and how much it was worth. Everyone was interrupted in their conjecture by...
We had just finished taking our seats and Lady Caoilinn had signaled for the first dish to be served when everything was interrupted by a long, loud, high pitched, agonizing scream that was suddenly cut off. I immediately sent out my Magical senses to determine what had happened. I didn't like what I found. "What on Earth was that?" Lady Caoilinn demanded in the sudden silence that followed the scream being cut off. Captain Sean Og was already on his feet and calling for the guardsmen,...
On arriving at the Hall for the evening meal, we were surprised to see a larger table set up and that several other guests were already there for the meal. The current conversations all stopped when we entered the Hall. "These are my house guests," Lady Feidhelm told the others. "The young man is Master Kellen O'Connell and the young ladies are the Mac Sweeney Sisters, Airmid and Almha, his Apprentices," she finished. "Kellen, these are my guests for the evening meal: Master Murchadh...
I hated to interrupt the Sisters' fun, but it was getting late in the day, and we needed to come to a consensus on what was to be done. "Would you ladies like to leave here with me?" I asked when they took a little break after exploring the room. "Leave?" they both thought in my mind. "Yes, go somewhere else with me." "We had never considered that we could go somewhere else!" Airmid said in surprise. "How would we do that?" Almha asked. "I can use my Magic to transfer us to...
We were awakened early the next morning to the cold gray light of dawn by the Castellan calling to us through the wards across the stairwell entrance. "Master ... Master, you must come out here. Something awful has happened!" As I sat up in bed, my movement disturbed Sunshine, and she sat up also, as the Castellan continued to call to me. "What is wrong?" she asked. "I don't know. I'll have to go and see," I told her, as I pulled on my jeans and reached for my Wizard's...
The following new characters appear in the next two chapters: Eamon O'Flaherty III Castellan, 5'-8" tall, 150 pounds, 50 years old, brown hair going gray, hazel eyes 'Red' Hugh O'Dochartaigh Guard Captain, 6'-0" tall, 195 pounds, 35 years old, flaming red hair, gray eyes, and a bad temper We hurried up the stairs past the second floor without looking in, and continued on to the third floor. Sunshine had said that this was the Master's private floor. I quickly cast a ward...
The Castellan didn't come to get us until early that evening. We had heard Master Fiacha arrive sometime earlier, and had changed clothes to meet him. I had donned the fancy Master Wizard's robe that I had gotten from Eogham's apartment. Sunshine wore the green dress from there also, but not the jewelry this time. I had lowered the wards at the entrance from the stairwell before the Castellan arrived, as there was no need to alert them to just how powerful I was -- yet. "Master Fiacha...
The meal that evening was much more festive than our afternoon snack had been. Everyone wore their best clothes, and there was even music at the meal, which consisted of seven courses and finished with wine and ale. The twins did try some of the ale which was very good, but only a little, and none of the wine. They had learned their lesson. That night the Sisters wanted sex, which was all right with me. Both of them wanted the long, slow, and passionate variety, but separately and with a...
Standing in the street in front of the hotel, I began a mantra. Those watching looked at me and then at the hedge of thorns expecting it to vanish instantly. That didn't happen, but after a minute the hedge had shrunk below the second floor level of the hotel and was continuing to shrink. After four minutes it was only three feet high and continued to shrink. After a bit more than five minutes, the hedge had completely disappeared, and there were no signs that it had ever been there. Those...
Kell and his twins arrived an hour, or so after we had gotten back. He knocked on our door when they got upstairs. They looked tired. "Anything?" I asked, after they were seated on the bed. "A morning's ride, some nice scenery, and time spent at two ancient sites, but no trace of recent Magic use at either of them," he told me. "There were still some traces of ancient Magic at the well. Kell told me that the goddess Airmid was one of the ones that created the healing well, and that...
We were up early the next morning and packed what we would be taking with us in my backpack and a pair of saddle bags for each of us. The servants must have heard us moving around in the room, as our breakfast arrived soon after we finished packing. Following a decent breakfast, we again turned in our room key before leaving. "We'll be back in a few days. We're still checking on my Wife's Sister," I told the man behind the counter. It wasn't Conner. Bow Lane Gate was already open this...
Characters introduced in the next two chapters: Lady Caoilinn O'Doherty Master Cahir's Wife, the current owner of Glenveagh Castle, 5'-7" tall, 135 pounds, 36B-24-37, 32 years old, dark blond hair, gray eyes Master Cahir Imprisoned the Mac Sweeney sisters, Lady Caoilinn Husband, 5'-7" tall, 175 pounds, 41 years old, Long brown hair and brown eyes Donough Servant, 6'-2" tall, 255 pounds, 27 years old black hair, blue eyes Sean Og O'Doherty Captain of Guards, Lady Caoilinn's...
The Hall at Drumboe Castle, or more properly Manor House, wasn't as large as that at Glenveagh Castle, as it would only be cozy for a mere forty people. Currently, it was set up with a single table that would seat eight. Like the rest of the house that we had seen, this room had a walnut wainscot with painted walls which were a light rose color. There were multiple plaster moldings some eight inches high around the room at ceiling level which was only ten feet high. There was a chandelier...
Our Cousins' houses were very similar to our Parents' houses, as each of our Cousins has five children. Even though there are only four of them who are married to the current Grand Master of the Union and his Brother, they have twenty children between them: four sets of male twins, four sets of female twins, plus each one had a single child, so there were two more male and two more female children. They only visit us occasionally any more, as their children are similar in age to the...
Characters introduced in the next two chapters: Aengus Crawford, the fifth Crawford heir, 5'-11" tall, 175 pounds, 28 years old, black hair and beard, dark eyes Niall Dunleevy Physician, Lady Fiedhelm's husband, 5'-9" tall, 145 pounds, 35 years old, brown hair and gray eyes Hugh Garbh O'Donnell Earl O'Donnell's oldest living son, 5'-10" tall, 165 pounds, 30 years old, dark auburn hair and mustache, sparkling gray eyes "Where is that Physician hiding? We have need of him!"...
We materialized in the Otherworld at 5:00 in the afternoon their time. The six of us must have generated a huge Magic signature on arriving there, as shortly every Master available in the Otherworld showed up in the Glen to see who had arrived. Brian was one of the first to arrive, and we introduced our ladies to him. He was quite happy to meet Sunshine and Rose, as they are Mages, who are always welcome here. It was when Kell introduced Airmid and Almha that things got sticky. The twins...
We spent the remainder of the morning on Market Street. The Sisters checked out many of the shops and stalls that were open, although we purchased very little. However, they enjoyed the looking. I was more interested in the shops of the various crafts that we passed. Wheelwrights, blacksmiths and coopers were in evidence as well as many other trades. Their signs, hanging from the buildings, were both interesting and finely crafted. Later that day we walked down Fish Lane far enough to get a...
Airmid and Almha had been nervously waiting for me. When I appeared in our room, they were instantly all over me checking to see that I was all right. When they had assured themselves that I wasn't injured, their curiosity took over. "Tell us what happened, and why you were gone so long!" they demanded. I gave them a complete report of what had happened. They were shocked when I told them about the assassins. I had to reassure them that I had been in no danger. They were still upset and...

I needed to calm both horses again as it was...
Donegal Town from the Celtic Dun na nGall translates as 'stronghold of the foreigners'. There was an early Viking fortress located here that was destroyed in 1159 by Murtagh Mac Lochlainn, then the High King of Ireland. The town eventually gave its name to the County, but it never had walls like other major towns in Ireland. As in many other areas of Ireland, there is archaeological evidence in both Realities for settlers in the area going back to prehistoric times. Some of this is in the...

"And why would a young Apprentice like you be wanting to go to Castle Glenquin? The owner is also the Master Wizard there and not noted for his generosity, nor hospitality," the man at the market in An Caislean Nua inquired when I asked him about Glenquin Castle. "He's the very devil himself," a woman nearby injected in a shrill voice. "Still, I have been directed to see him, if only for a short time," I told them. "If you're determined then, take the road south to the Mahoonagh...
A new character appearing in the next several chapters: Lughaidh O'Clery Master of Ballyshannon Castle, 5'-9" tall, 150 pounds, 26 years old, dark auburn hair and blue eyes I awoke in the morning after a fine night's sleep. The Sisters were still asleep on either side of me. We had finished packing most of our clothes and other things the previous night before retiring. I noticed that the 'Book of Dreams' was still here when I awoke, but it disappeared shortly before the Sisters...

That evening we discussed with the Stuarts whether they would be interested in working for us full time. They were, but had some issues. "We have a house near Akron that we would need to sell. We also have jobs that we will need to leave, plus bank accounts and other financial matters to take care of," Will Stuart told us. ""If you would rather still live in Akron, I could install a portal in your house there, so you could travel back and forth to work here," I told them. "No," Myra...

We materialized on the road near the Mc Dermott cottage on the outskirts of Rathkeale. "What is here?" Sunshine asked looking around at the scattering of cottages along the road. "Not what, but who. I know some people here," I told her, as I approached the Mc Dermott's door and knocked. "Yes, what is it?" Mrs. Mc Dermott asked from inside before opening the door and looking up at me. "Oh!" she said in a startled voice, before looking closer. "You're the Apprentice that stopped...
As soon as I finished the healing spells and had canceled the preservation spell the body in the casket-like box snapped upright. Her eyes were bulging out in shock, and she screamed and screamed in fear. "It's all right, Rose. Don't be afraid. No one will hurt you again," Sunshine assured her twin, but Rose's body wasn't listening -- yet. Sunshine bent to try to calm the frightened girl, and Rose's spirit, which had resided in Sunshine's body for the last several years, flowed out...
I was 19 when I met Ken. I was still at Uni and I met him during a work placement at a large accounting firm in the city. I had just completed my first ever full scale audit of a medium sized business. I had essentially completed the audit on my own but I was closely supervised by one of the accountants there and he had double checked everything I had done.I had to attend a meeting with the client, more as part of my work experience than anything else. I wasn't really needed there because my...
"Complications, Carl?" Seamus asked with a frown. "There were a number of cabins under attack also. Not everyone had gotten as far as the fort before the Shawanoes caught up with them, and they had holed up in some of the cabins near it. They needed immediate assistance, and we took care of that first after securing the fort. The Shawanoes broke off the attack, once we secured the fort and the cabins with Defensive Shells. We followed them, and eliminated the majority of them," I...
"Are you joking?" Phebe eventually asked in an earnest voice. "Have I ever been less than truthful with you?" Seth asked. "No, you have always been honest with me," she admitted with a sigh. Seth rose and took a chair from another table for her to sit on. "Thank you, Seth," she said, as she sank onto the offered chair. "So, what do you want with me?" she asked in resignation after a minute or so. "You must want something, or you wouldn't be here." "We need someone to show...

Annie and Sara arrived at the printing plant just after 12:30. Sean and I were just finishing cleaning up the presses, and only needed to use a quick spell to clean ourselves up and be presentable. Annie and Sara were wearing jeans like Sean and I were, but had on heavy blouses and jackets rather than the "Magic Ink" T-shirts that Sean and I were wearing with our sneakers. Saint Patrick's Day, the 17th of March, fell on a Wednesday this year, 2032. Sean and I had already helped Dad plow the fields in late February, and we had planted the seeds by the 1st of March, as we were having a warm spring this year. The past three years had seen the last freeze in Mid-March, and it hadn't been conducive to early planting. This afternoon, we were out checking the various fields on foot with Annie and Sara. They were still new to farming, and we wanted them to see the...

Amelia continues the Narrative: "Are you expecting anyone else?" I asked quietly, as Duncan and Connor cast wards around the room as a precaution. "No! Let me go and see who it is," Captain Billy told us, and started for the hall that led to the rear of the house. Connor created an opening in the ward for him. After several minutes, the Captain returned with another man who appeared very reluctant to be seen here. "Tell them what you told me," the Captain directed, without...
We didn't get to see Grandfather Michael until well after noontime. We joined him in his private parlor when summoned. "Good afternoon, Grandfather," we both said in greeting after being told to enter. "Well, what do you think of us after spending your first night here, and scaring the staff half to death?" he asked with a grin. "The scaring part wasn't intentional," I told him. "Maybe not on your part," Pat told him in a disgruntled voice. "And just what is the problem?"...

Margie has the Narrative again for a time: My timing was just about perfect, as I arrived in the kitchen just as Grace was ready to leave. “Hi, where are you off to?” I asked, as I appeared. Grace jumped in surprise on hearing my voice and turned to look at me. “Lord! Margie, you scared me out of two years growth,” she told me on recovering. “Sorry, most of those in the Clan can detect when someone is transferring to their location,” I told her. “It’s a skill that you’ll develop over...

Everyone was still excited about the upcoming move to the O'Connell Realm on Tuesday, the 18th of October, when they resumed work at the printing plant. The excitement was soon replaced by shock. On Wednesday morning, the 19th, just before 8:30, as everyone was just getting to work, Uncle Will noticed a black Humvee and several black Suburbans pull up across the street from the plant. The hair on the back of his neck stood up in premonition, and he instantly reacted by reciting the spell...
Over the next few days, Dad got with Uncle Will and Thomas Stuart to determine how much paper, plates, ink, and other supplies that we used in a year. They went over the business records and then projected future increases based on the increases over the last two years. They were quite surprised at the amount of materials required. "You say that we have maybe a year or so?" Uncle Will asked. "Yes, that's our daughters' estimate," Dad answered. "We can double our regular orders and...
