“Okay lady, finish your coffee and get out of my sight,” I said.
“Why, what did I do?” she asked.
“You are bat shit crazy. I don’t want anything to do with you,” I said.
“How about Willow?” she asked.
“I sure as hell am not screwing her, but she can still do work for me. I don’t judge other people’s life style, in your case I made an exception. As long as she adheres to our agreement, she can continue to work for me now and then. As for you, get the fuck away from me now.” I said.
Ginger muttered as she walked to her car. She was accompanied on her short walk by the growling Hondo. I watched her drive away. I knew what my next job would be. I needed some sort of gate over the farm road’s entrance to the Gatehouse turn off.
Before I a sat down at the computer, I toasted some frozen bread for a sandwich. I left the computer booting up while I composed a sandwich with pimento cheese and Dorito corn chips. I made it large enough to break off a corner for Hondo. I approved of his growling message to Ginger Moss.
I removed my fake leg, then checked my email. I had another message from the older man from Jackson. He asked about a community campground. Of course there was none. So I wrote to tell him about the closest one I knew off. It was a large campground in Vicksburg. Since I knew nothing about it, I couldn’t give him any other information.
I expected him to drive a pickup and stay in a motel, so I gave him some motel information. The information was a repeat of information from the net or people at my failed relations meetings.
I proceeded to look up things on the Internet. They weren’t necessarily about scooters. Most of it was totally unrelated to anything at all. Just random stuff that interested me.
When I got sleepy, I fell into bed. Honda slept in his dog house even though it was colder outside than inside. Of course he slept in his fur coat, so he was probably just as comfortable. Again I was up two or three times, but that was normal. The last time was to increase the heater setting so that I wouldn’t have to wake up in a cold house. Of course cold was a relative concept. Thirty seven degrees overnight in Mississippi was certainly better than the zero in South Dakota, but it was still cold.
While I dressed in my cold weather clothes, I put water on to boil for the morning coffee. I cooked cheese and eggs and made toast while I drank my first cup of coffee. While the eggs cooked I boiled water for the two cups to go into Big Bubba thermos. I carried it all onto the deck to sit in the sunshine with Hondo.
He ate his egg and kibble covered in protein powder. He was good about not being a picky eater. He did show that he enjoyed my food more than kibble. That was okay because I enjoyed an egg sandwich better than cereal myself.
As I sat on my cold plastic chair in the sunshine I remembered a thought I had the night before. I wanted to build a three or four space camp ground. It would have a cement pad for each home, and an electrical hook up. I would also have a dump station to empty waste. Since I expected it to be years before it had enough customers to pay for itself, I needed some help.
I figured I had an acre of land between me and the county road. I could clear enough of it for the three camping spaces since I didn’t want a large area to maintain. We could tell people that it was primitive, except for the optional electrical service.
By noon I had moved from the idea stage, to the research phase. I was checking the amount of space required to handle three recreational vehicles or camping trailers. It seemed that I had only half the space needed. I couldn’t just acquire another acre from Fred since the space had to be all together and the farm road would divide it. I would need two acres all together. It was to provide the green buffer required by county zoning between his farm and the trailer spaces. He couldn’t even wave it.
I got an email alert at that point. I was right in the middle of my research, but I stopped to read it.
Mr. Boyd,
I would like to come down this Saturday January 15th to test one of your scooters. I should be at your place around noon. I might have to call, if I get lost. So keep your phone on Saturday for me please.
Ed.
I sent him an okay, message by return email.
I would lose a few minutes from the research, if I stopped right away. Instead I continued with my research. It was twenty minutes before I went to the circus tent to hook four battery packs up to the charger.
I was building all my scooters with a heavy duty thirty six volt-eight hundred amp motor, but I used a forty eight volt battery with them. In Mississippi it was more than enough power. I could do a maximum speed of thirty miles per hour. The average speed I recommended was under twenty miles per hour. At thirty the bike was very, very unstable. The sales contract included that information, and a liability waiver written by the Deacon’s daughter, Marcy the lawyer.
I decided to let the recreational vehicle park cook for a while. I would pull it out of the recesses of my mind and work on it now and then. I might come up with something else in the meantime, or it might end up just another half backed idea.
I still had the convenience store owner’s kids, the sheriff’s deputy with PMS, the former hippie nympho, the Biloxi motel manager, Max the wife beater. and my brother’s wife’s questions to worry about, but probably not in the order. Thinking about that made me laugh at the recreational vehicle spaces idea.
“Fred, whatever you are doing to make Alice think there is another woman stop it. Don’t try to change her mind, just do what you have to do,” I said. “Also I’ll give till 9PM to work on your bullshit story. Call me so I know what to tell her your excuse is.”
“Thanks Keith, I’ll think of something. Things aren’t really all that good with Alice at the moment. I swear though there is no other woman. I’m just working all the time, so I don’t have to go home.”
“Okay, I’ll tell her that when she calls,” I said.
The next day the old man from Jackson showed up just before noon. He tried out a three wheeler with a lithium battery. Actually it was my trike he tried with a thirty amp hour battery. The old man came back with a huge grin on his face.
“Tell you what, set up the one I want to buy just like this and I’ll pay you thirteen hundred bucks,” he said.
“I just can’t do it,” I said. “Set up like mine, the price is fifteen hundred. I can’t go any lower. But I will throw in a headlight and tail light for night riding in the city.”
“Alright,” the old man said. He also gave me my money in cash. Unlike some businesses I loved cash. There was no way buyers remorse could end in a stopped payment of cash.
During the next two weeks a lot of my challenges got closed out. First of all Detective Amos found out that the convenience store was burned by one of his suppliers. Amos never opened up about why, but she did call to arrange a meeting. The meeting took place on a neutral site.
It took place in a city park across from the courthouse in Greenville. I arrived early for our before lunch meeting. I was sitting in the sunlight enjoying the day when she walked up.
“Good morning Mr Boyle,” she said.
“Hello, Amos, what brings you hear on this winters morning?” I asked.
“I came in hopes you would be reasonable about the lawsuit against the Sheriff’s department and the county,” she said.
“To be honest I don’t even know the terms of Marcy settlement proposal,” I said.
“She is asking for a million dollars, as well as a public apology including and admission that taking you to the convenience store was not just an error in judgment. That it was a violation of some vague constitution right,” she said.
“So what is your department willing to do,” I asked. “Before I go to Marcy on your behalf, I need to know what you will accept.”
“Well the million ain’t never gonna happen. Some kind of apology can be arranged but not a public apology,” she said. “Abdi is never going to meet with you. His two sons will never admit to violent intentions.”
“Then you are offering me nothing. You had me ride here in the fucking cold to listen to this shit,” I said calmly. “Even the details of this meeting were another slap in the face.”
That same evening Marcy called me to advise me the county had agreed to the public apology and a settlement of half a million. I told Mary about the meeting that was held that very morning. She went absolutely ballistic.
“They called me after that fake bullshit meeting. I’m gonna have her ass sanctioned and see what that breaks loose,” Marcy said and hung up.
A week later Amos was put on suspension, reassigned to patrol in a different part of the county. The deal went through at half a million and the public apology included the Sheriff himself telling the story and ending with the mention of a restraining order against every member of the Abdi family.
From the settlement I ended with roughly $175,000 after taxes. That, as far as I was concerned, put and end to my involvement with the local Sheriff’s department.
Shortly there after Max, Elanor’s husband, was picked up for grand theft auto. He had a lot more problems than me. I declared him no longer a threat.
“Willow, we need to come to an understanding. It’s been a while since your mother’s visit and I need some changes to the web site. We need to have an understanding though. We will do all the work through Email and over the phone. We will keep the face to face meeting to a bare minimum and always in public places.” I demanded.
“I want you to know Mr. Boyle, I knew nothing of mom’s plans. When she drinks, she gets wild ideas,” Willow said.
“Next time you will be getting her out of jail. There is a new no trespassing sign hanging on a new gate at the entrance to my driveway. You might want to warn her.” I figured that would take care of Ginger, Willow’s mother.
I hadn’t had any contact with the bastard of Biloxi in half a year, so I removed him from my threat assessment list. I had sold a pusher trailer designed as a tricycle motor. I had UPS deliver it, so that proved to be doable. I actually made a couple of hundred bucks on that one. Which was almost as much as I had made on the sale to the old man from Jackson. The pusher trailer was easier to make and a simple install for the purchaser.
I even made a video of the installation of the pusher trailer. I also offered to install the trailer free, if the purchaser brought his or her trike to me. The truth was the installation was paid for with the saving from not having to ship it to the buyer.
It had taken two more months but the month of April not only marked my first year at Gatehouse, but also it provided me with a clean slate. Even Fred and Alice seemed to be doing better. When my phone rang on April first, all things seemed right with the world.
“There is a cheap family owned motel five miles from your place. It’s owned by a Persian family. Will being held up there a couple of days be a problem for you?” the Deacon asked. “I need to get a local pharmaceutical executive out of town.”
“A drug dealer really?” I asked.
“No a legal drug operation executive. The Sheriff promised to keep him safe till he can testify in court, then help him disappear. There was an attack on the safe house last night. He called me. It seems word of our Biloxi operation is floating around those circles. So are you in or out.”
“I’m in, but I don’t like being known to the bad guys,” I said.
“It goes with the turf,” Deacon said. “I figure one of us inside and one outside. We can swap positions. The one outside stays awake, the one inside can rest.”
“Okay, but I’m still not sure I like who we are protecting,” I said.
“They can’t all be good looking singers,” he said. “Church ladies don’t usually need this service. If it makes you feel any better the drug company was legal.”
“This isn’t the business I wanted to be in when I retired,” I said.
“Bullshit you missed it,” he said. “Meet me at the Big Seven Motel outside Belzoni just as soon as you can. Like last time bring your own tools. I’m here with Serpico right now.”
I called Alice and told her to feed and water Hondo and I would make it worth her while when I got back.
“I might have one of the kids come with me to play with him. He seems to be socialized now, she said.
“You do have the code to the gate? I asked.”
“Of course,” she replied.
“Call me if there are any issues,” I said.
“I will how long are you going to be gone?” she asked.
“It might be as long as a couple of weeks. I promise I will get home just as soon as I can. And thanks I owe you big time,” I said.

I awoke on the morning of Halloween as if it were any other morning. I took a pee and a shower then struggled into my fake leg and then my clothes. Just like every other morning I made a pot of coffee. Then sat drinking the whole thing while my head removed itself from my ass. I needed to do that before I even came close to getting myself up to speed for a new day. It was my day to hook the water trailer to my scooter for the trip to Fred’s house. It was late at night, last fall. I was walking up to their house and my heart was pounding. The lights were on and I had already walked by the house once. 'Would I ring the bell?' The excitement was racing through my body and I had an erection that wouldn't stop. I would really regret not walking up there.I put my foot on the step of their porch, stood in front of the door and took a deep breath. Without thinking I pressed the doorbell. I couldn't back out now without fleeing in terror.I heard...
Holly – I first developed a crush on Keith Carter more than 15 years ago when I was seven years old. One day I was at the playground with my mother, Miss Carol and her twins, Brad and Tommy Jr. My parents were best friends with Miss Carol and her husband, Tommy Thomas Sr. I hated the twins. They were two years older than me and it was always two against one. They were picking on me and taking my barbie dolls and getting sand all over them, Mom was busy watching my little brother and talking to...
Keith's first shot caught the lead horse in the chest and caused it to tumble. Its rider went flying over the horses head as it fell, knocking the rider unconscious and breaking several bones on impact. The next horse in line tried to swerve around the fallen horse and stepped in a hole as it did so. This horse fell with a broken leg and threw its rider in the process. This rider was killed on impact. Now, that was a lucky shot, two Comanches and two horses with one bullet; Keith couldn't...
My best friend Bob frequently talked about his cousin Keith who lived in Pennsylvania and how he would fit in with us if only he lived closer. It was in early March when Bob told us that Keith found a house in our area through his employer and that he was being transferred here. By late March Keith was moved in and we had a chance to meet him at a party at Bob’s house. I arrived at the party and there he was standing about six feet tall with reddish brown hair and brown eyes. He looked...
Keith tried to save them some work by converting the arrows they had scavenged from the Comanche camp into crossbow bolts. The arrow shafts were slightly smaller in diameter than the bolt points they had were designed for. The size difference was not enough to make the shaft unsuitable for their points, but a slight pull on the shaft would dislodge the head. Keith wondered if this would be a useful characteristic or just an unimportant side issue. Oh, well, they would find out when they shot...
Losing my Virginity I met Keith when visiting my older sister at college. I had just turned 18 and was still senior in high school. He was a junior in college and in ROTC preparing to be an officer in the Army. I had been going up to visit “my sister” for a little over a month, but really spent most of my time with Keith. I had circled this weekend a while back as it was only a few days before my period so I was in my safe zone. I knew there were risks, but I really did not want my first time...
Keith: The first time Jenna and I were away from each other was our freshman year in college. I got a baseball scholarship to State, while she went to Atlantic for its fine arts program. I missed her dearly; we called and emailed each other all the time, just to see what the other was up to. We kept no secrets from each other. Jenna: I always thought about Keith. When we were kids, we did everything together. On my first date, I insisted he and his girlfriend come along with me. He’s my twin...
IncestThe information they had gotten about the trail ahead was well neigh invaluable. With it, they were able to avoid several bad places in the trail, and the information about the additional water holes was very helpful. The wagon train had managed to maintain its schedule because of a mixture of good management by Jed Caruthers, the wagonmaster, and an almost...
My wife Kristi and I were hanging out on Saturday night when she got a call from Keith, you could tell he was telling her something hot because her face got bright red and she was very excited. He was staying Downtown at the JW Marriot and had the penthouse suite. Kristi went upstairs and got ready faster than I have ever seen her and headed...
Keith's first opportunity to use the crossbow in his new profession came sooner than he had expected. He was strolling through some woods when he heard a woman scream. He reacted immediately by dropping the tow rope of his sled and picking up his crossbow. He didn't really know why he took the crossbow, rather than the rifle; possibly, it was because he had spent so much time practicing with it lately. For whatever reason, he was carrying it and the quiver of bolts when he ran toward the...
Keith and Sam returned to their old neighborhood and set up camp. Keith couldn't help remembering the way Sam looked without her shirt on. Being basically a nice guy, Keith had given Sam as much privacy as possible, considering the circumstances they were living under. He had avoided her when she was bathing, though he had stayed close enough to go to her aid if she was attacked, and the courtesy had been reciprocated. Nevertheless, as the ache from the loss of his wife began to fade, Keith...
The next week was spent walking around wherever the whim took them, looking for Comanches that they could kill. Just as their prey did, the two lived off hunting and a few gathered greens that they might come across. They did take the time to jerk the meat that they didn't eat immediately, so they were not forced to hunt every day. Mostly, they were opportunistic hunters, both for food and for Comanches. They came across a fairly large camp at the end of that week of wandering. They...

Keith paused then looked up at Emily and David Greene then at Gemma then at the policeman and policewoman who were all gathered together in the main office of the...
Mr. and Mrs. Keith Murray now had some serious matters to discuss. Now that they were married, were they going to continue their near vendetta against the Comanches? Neither one was ready to settle down, nor were they ready to forgive and forget the reasons they started their crusade. It seemed to both of them that they were never going to be able to recover from their personal losses if they stayed in Texas. They just needed to get away from the Comanche territories before they could even...
The little convoy had gone about 13 miles over fairly rough country, and the day was coming to an end. Fortunately, they were close enough to a little hamlet with a saloon/hotel where Alice Brown had scheduled an overnight stop. Naturally, everybody but Alice spent some time in the saloon after supper. Keith got into a long conversation with a couple of local businessmen and came to bed shaking his head. The next day, they made about 20 miles in country a little less demanding on the mules....
Every day after school the next week, we had basketball tryouts. There must have been fifty of us because Coach Hancock and Coach Mitchell were picking both the varsity and JV teams. Every guy in the school seemed to be there to try out. They ran drills. They ran dribbling practice. They ran shooting skills. They ran layups. They ran rebounds. Mostly, they ran us. I don't think I'd ever run so much. Fortunately, I'd biked a lot. My legs and lungs were strong. Whitney told me I had to do...

Homecoming Princess By Arecee It was the third week of the new school year and the students were becoming more at ease with each other. Mr. Copeland's English class was becoming somewhat rowdy as the students laughed and joked with each other before class started. Lynn Collins was somewhat of a joker and loved to tease other students. He never did it in a mean fashion but always in fun and the other students loved the way he did it. Lynn was a freshman at a new school and even...
They were so excited. It was their first night together. ‘My god, she looks so beautiful,’ Matt thought as she peeled the bra from her bountiful breasts. But please forgive me, I am getting ahead of myself. They had been talking to each other for a little bit now. They met in high school, in their junior year advanced chemistry class. Neither of them really cared for the class. Her name was Elisabeth. Matt was already in the class when she transferred into it. When she opened the door,...
This story took a while and numerous rewrites to get where I wanted it to be. Yes, it is somewhat long, but I believe that it's a good demonstration of how a character can easily change without even noticing it him/herself. There was a lot of effort to build the characters in an easily accessible way. Let me know what you think. This story is inspired by the story Changes by Trick over at http://www.mcstories.com/ChangesTrick/ChangesTrick.html. Go ahead and read that story as well....
After my encounter with Andrea in our local gym, the rest of my weekend was pretty uneventful. Besides me replaying that amazing night in my head over and over, and going on my morning runs, it was a pretty long weekend. The weekend seemed to drag out forever, simply because I was waiting to see Andrea again on Monday. That Monday was the first day I was ever excited to go to school and not just because it was Homecoming. After my first 2 hours were through I could hardly contain my...
For the next few weeks, things stayed in a routine. An overworked, stressful, pressure-cooker of a routine, but a routine nonetheless. We played our games, and our practices also progressed very well. My professors kept on piling on the work, but we still found a little time to goof off and relieve the pressure, if only temporarily. We lost a non-conference game to the University of Miami Hurricanes by an embarrassingly lopsided score, but we had an excuse. More than half the team was struck...
It is a beautiful autumn day a week before the big game with the homecoming dance afterward.Rebecca is a freshman at this college who is cute as a button but, oh, so shy. She is five feet tall with long red hair and bright green eyes. She is curvy and could stop traffic if she really wanted to. But she dresses for comfort not to impress anyone. There are enough other girls that dress to get attention. She has decided to go ahead and invest in a sexy off the shoulder red dress for Homecoming. She...
Love StoriesCHAPTER 1 Barbara Thompson came close to panic as she read the email from her daughter on the eve of Nikki’s homecoming after spending the last two years in England finishing her Fine Arts Degree at great expense. Barbara and husband Bass (Basil) had used the money set aside to buy another commercial property in their town of Lynch to ensure their eldest received the education she desired. The email read: ‘Hi mom, my degree with honors is in the bag and I’ll be home in two weeks. I have...
HOMECOMING Even though it was November, it felt like spring in Tucson. Raised in the cold Midwest, Kelly felt there was something fundamentally wrong with a Homecoming game that lacked the crisp bite of impending winter, but who was she to complain? If she had been in the Midwest, she would not have been able to wear a short jean skirt and flat summer sandals to go with her jersey and U of A earrings. She could not deny that the loved how cute the outfit made her feel. When her...
People keep asking me the question if I am the Cathy Cook that Keith, the author of the Surfside series, was writing about. I think of "Letter to readers" as a love letter to me personally that we wanted to share with our readers. Also I was the author of the two comments at the bottom, numbers 6 and 11, that have my name attached. This was not a hack by someone like Keith to make me, the character in the story, look real. I think we both love each other though our romance has more...
Before either Keith or Gemma could respond to this sudden invasion of their privacy the girl approaching them was speaking again. “Oh, I’m sorry. We haven’t introduced ourselves yet. I’m Jaz. That’s short for Jasmine ... Jasmine Ryder but I hate the name ‘Jasmine’. I just like being called Jaz and this here is Derek ... and that’s just short for ... Derek ... just Derek ... Derek Dawkins.” Jaz laughed at her own joke which made her rather voluminous tits, with huge aerola sections, swing...
“That’s crazy. Let’s just stay watch the game. We’re going to get caught.” “No, we’re not. And even if we are, what are they going to do? It’s about two years too late to expel us. And it’s not like they’re not going to call the cops. After all we’re alums. Potential donors.” Clara was right, although that attitude came naturally to her. Although she came from an enormously wealthy family, she was not in the least snobby or stuck up. It was impossible, however, for her to be unaware of how her...
Homecoming Ch. 08 Edited by Frinkles© 2007 This chapter was edited to correct a date discrepancy/error that was driving me crazy — no more, no less. Everything else in the story is exactly the same. Alright, alright…UNCLE! For those of you who are disappointed in Daniel’s actions, believe me so am I. The guy is human. He’s a bit of an idiot at times. He’s letting his little head do the thinking rather than the ‘big’ head. He knows he screwed up which is why he’s in the dang farmhouse praying...

The rest of the week was pretty frustrating as Megan’s and Christie took every chance they could to tease me around school. I managed to survive the week of football practice with Christie and the squad practicing around in short shorts and sports bras. Christie was a huge tease as she would often talk dirty to me during our nightly calls and even email some naughty photos. She told me not to jack off all week because she wanted me to save it for Homecoming. Through it all, I received good...

Love StoriesMrs. O'Toole called in for Molly on Tuesday, too. Josh told me that Molly was feeling better, but she didn't want to come to school limping so badly, so she wanted to wait until Wednesday. I had the feeling that she also didn't want to face Joey or Jilly, either, and I couldn't blame her. All the Bulls were walking around the school hallways like puffed-up peacocks, telling tall tales of glory and conquest to any fool that would listen. Josh also said that he wanted us to meet again at...
The Greatest Lie, Chapter 14 From Prom Night to Homecoming Alexandra Rios [email protected] For me, my hometown, L.A., is not the sexy, sweaty night clubs of West Hollywood nor the porn scene of the North Valley. Though I feel more at home there, that side of L.A. is not my home but rather the world into which my transsexual destiny exiled me. Home is the leafy, moneyed boulevards and side streets of Brentwood and Bel Air, California. Beneath the swaying palms and in the...
