Upon waking, Helena realised that she still had the two bags from yesterday to dispose of. Leaving them locally could cause a problem. So she placed the bags in a pillow case and walked over to the tavern. Catching a cab, she directed the driver to go to Hilton at Surfers Paradise. The fare was $70. Giving the driver a $100 note she exited the cab and went into the Hotel. Seeing a laundry bin with used sheets etc, Helena dumped the pillow case in the trolley and went into the ladies.
Exiting the ladies through another exit, which went into a local shopping complex. Entering a swimwear shop again purchased another bikini, skirt, towel sun cream and beach bag. Placing her handbag in the beach bag, walked out of the shop into Cavill Mall and turned towards the beach.
On reaching the water edge, Helena turned south and started walking, About 45 minutes later realised she needed a drink and brekky. Looking up Helena realised she was at Nobby Beach.
Walking along Lavarack Road Helena arrived at the Sparrow Eating House. Sitting down requested a menu, Just then outside three boys started to push around a young girl demanding protection money. Helena shot outside, grabbed the girl and push the three boys into the street, they narrowly missed some oncoming cars. Sitting the girl down, inside the eating house Helena asked “What was that about?”
She explained they were uni students, like her, and wanted her money for their drugs. She has reported them to the police and uni guards, but because no one has seen them actually bully her until today, they cannot take any action. The three boys then went across the road waiting for them to come out.
Helena introduced herself and Suzanne introduced herself. As they held hands Harry said ‘Keep holding please,’ Helena felt the tingle of her ring whilst he made another ring on Suzanne’s left hand middle finger. Suzanne did not notice Helena holding her hand as the stress of the boys stilled upset her. Harry said ‘Finished. But she needs food and she is very much like minded as you.’
“Would you like to join me for breakfast as I have miss out today and would like some company please. My treat?” Said Helena. Suzanne started to say no “Please and it would make those bully boys envious of you having a nice meal in front of them?”
Suzanne agreed.
Helena ordered a 3 egg omelette with bacon, mushrooms, spring onions, french toast and a large cappuccino for two please. Suzanne said “I won’t eat all of that!” when the order was taken. “Want to bet, you will eat it all and need another cuppa?”
“OK if I had some money, I would bet you.” Suzanne replied looking sad. “I have to get my rent money today from the bank, but those rats were watching me, and my landlord is money hungry, demanding the money on the due day, today.”
“Don’t worry I’ll help you.” Helena replied, “Do you mind if, after brekky, I go with you to your landlord and makes sure he gets your money.”
“Thank you.” Suzanne said smiling.
Harry mentioned ‘Get her feelings on what we do, give my story and see if she is interested. She is studying Law and Journalism at the Bond university, but is very dishearten with the law system giving preference to the criminals and not the victims. Just do it in a general way. She has used her body to achieve outcomes before and like you she has no known family.’
The girls then stated small talk, getting to understand each other. Finding a lot in common as their breakfast arrived. The meal looked huge, however both girls soon finished all of the food and drink. Helena ordered two more cappuccino’s and some more french toast. This arrived and was soon polished off.
Suzanne looking sad, said “Dam I lost the bet. That food was delicious. Thank you.”
“Don’t worry, you, like me, looked like you needed a good feed. I noticed the boys have gone away for now.” The bill arrived and Helena placed a $100 bill for payment.
Suzanne eyes bulged and the sight of a $100 bill. “Wow I have not seen one of those for a long time!” she mentioned.
Walking out of the restaurant the shopkeeper tried to return the change, Helena waved it off saying a nice tip for good food. Walking towards Suzanne flat, Helena saw how small the place was and was determined to help her out. The rent was $100 per week for the dog box. Helena got out $500 and gave it to Suzanne to pay for the next 5 weeks. Suzanne initially tried to refuse, looking at Helena realised that was not going to work, handed the money to the owner requesting a receipt.
“Lets go for a beach walk shall we, change into a bikini and skirt like me.” Helena suggested. Suzanne changed and closed her door. Outside they noticed the owner as flashing the money to one of the bullies saying at least I got paid. The girls both moved away without being noticed.
Suzanne was livid. She stormed down the street towards the beach, finally sitting down near the water edge. Helena pulled out her towel near some rocks and called Suzanne over saying “Come along and lets discuss and can you put some cream on my shoulders please?” Suzanne walked over sat behind and started to place the cream on her back and shoulders. Then requested Helena to do the same to her. “Come on sit in front of me.” Helena then applied the cream gently with Harry help started to calm her down mentally. They both laid down on the large towel together with hands just touching each other.
