Monica agreed to my offer along with another business woman that wanted a woman working the Stock Market with her money. Each account was larger than any current account the firm she went to work for had. Together they were almost half the total amount the firm represented. So she became a junior partner on her first day. Agnes was 94 but looked like she was 50. She was twice widowed, the first time she married into family money and her husband died with most of the family on a boating accident. Agnes, a niece, cousin and brother-in-law were the only survivors. The in-law signed a pre-nup so he was out. The rest was split three ways. Her second husband was military and died in combat with a million dollar life insurance that paid double if killed in combat. But, Agnes was very lucky or good at the stock market and trading in her younger days. Which brought her to Monica for representation in the new ever changing market.
I met Agnes at Monica’s office when I was picking her up for lunch. Agnes invited herself along, so she could make sure I was good enough for Monica. I passed thankfully, to Monica’s embarrassment. We drove up to the house walked up to the door Monica and I had just knocked when Cari opened it and let us in. Felisha was sitting at the dining table and looked like she had been in a bad car wreck. Monica gave both Cari and Felisha hugs and sat down. I was just shaking my head until Monica told me to sit down. Felisha had decided that she just wanted to forget what had happened and asked to stay with me. So I began to discuss the situation. Monica would manage my money and we would play as we saw fit. Cari would continue at the house looking over applicants wanting to play for money. Felisha would become my personal assistant and basically shadow me everywhere I went until she or I decided otherwise. The door broke off the hinges as it was kicked in by a huge 6’+ tall 300 lbs or more guy in grey cargo pants and matching polo walking in on top of the door which was laying on the floor. A guy about 5’10” maybe 175 lbs wearing knit pants and a nice button shirt walked in behind the first guy.Felisha said “Ronald?”I asked who Ronald was and Felisha answered “He works for Brad” at the same time Ronald said “Felisha dear be a good girl and come with us.” Felisha said “I don’t want too” and Ronald said “I am not asking” That is when I said “Both of you need to get out now, before I call the cops” the big guy moved forward as I stood and face them both. Monica had already begun calling 911 when the big guy saw this he grabbed her phone and backhanded her. That is when I struck him in the throat as I kicked the side of his knee. The loud bang got everyone’s attention as Cari shot Ronald who had taken out a knife.
Police were there within minutes from other neighbors called 911 when they heard and saw the door get kicked in. I quickly called Anna. When she answered I explained what had happened and what was going on. She said not to say or do anything and she would be there as fast as she could I said I would send a private plane. I then called CS&S Charters and arranged for Anna’s flight here. Seven Police officers and two detectives later Cari & I were taken to the police station to be processed and find out if we would be charged by the DA. Before we had finished being processed we were walked to the front and released to Anna Felisha and Monica. A captain apologized for any inconvenience and we left.Both Ronald and Raymond died, Ronald from bullet to the chest that blew both lungs and his heart in to hamburger; Raymond aka big guy from a crushed windpipe and suffocation, no first aid was given as everyone assumed he was knocked out until it was too late to do anything.
Anna explained that due to the neighbor’s and Monica’s 911 calls with Monica’s being recorded there was overwhelming evidence proving self-defense and the protection of others. NO charges would be filed. While waiting for Cari and me to be released, Monica showed Anna my portfolio saying she was working for me now. Anna asked if she could share that with her firm. They immediately agreed to her being the junior partner representing their firm as my counsel, with a satellite office here at my location. She also said she would be negotiating her salary and benefits with me at home. Anna had a ‘Cat Ate the Canary Smile’ that gave me a chill up my spine. We all went to my house not the little one bedroom ‘play’ house.
So I told you that at first I bounced around the world playing the rich playboy but that got OLD FAST. What I had to show for that time was a beautiful ranch style house just over 4000 sq ft. it has two levels, well two and a half as the first floor has the main entrance open to a greeting room. On the right is the dining room with a table for eight behind is the kitchen with a breakfast bar for six in an L shape. Going to the left is a closet and the first half bath, just a toilet and sink. Behind that is the laundry room and back entrance mud room. At the back of the greeting room are stairs down to the main entertaining room which is a half basement. And another set of stairs going up to the floor which is all bedrooms and bathrooms. Directly at the top of the stairs is a full bathroom, on either side is a bedroom with a queen size bed 9 drawer dresser chair and full size closet. Across on either side of the bedrooms are master bedrooms with private bathrooms. On each side is a small room one is storage for linen etc. the other is my office. Off the main entertaining room is a covered pool and hot tub.
After the girls were finished with the tour, we sat in the front greeting room to talk.
I had not realized that all of the girls were now working for me or my employees whichever way you wanted to look at it. Now I had four CAT SMILES! I had never been this panicked in all my years in the military and life. Of course Anna did the explaining: All would work for me at the salary of $365 a year with a bonus of $1 every leap year. HOWEVER; benefits would be elite prime health insurance covering everything. All expenses paid by me to include board and room.
