I raised my hands in surrender when I saw others prepared to put their two cents worth in. "OK, already, I give up! I know when I'm outnumbered. I just hope you two know what you're getting into. This is no video game, where if you lose, you feed more money to the machine."
I looked at Jim. "If you lose in battle, there's a good chance that there won't be enough of you left to scrape up with a spatula."
I then turned to Jan. "If you screw up, the chances are good that someone will die."
I saw nothing but determination in their eyes. Jim said, "We know that as well as you do. We will not let you, or anyone else, down. Before we leave, there's something Jan and I need from you, though."
I asked what that might be.
"We need for you to accept us as adults. That includes all the privileges and duties associated with that distiction," Jan said.
I wasn't surprised. "You've got it. As far as I'm concerned, anyway. You have both acted like adults from the moment we met. I guess if we want to adopt children, we'll have to make another trip," I admitted.
Jan smiled and said, "Why not make our own children? The reason we asked that question is that Jim and I want to join you as mates, not children. We both reached that decision the first week we were with you."
Jim added, "We're not sure how that would work, but it's what we want. I'm not Bi, and just the thought of doing anything sexual with a guy gives me the 'willies'. I do love all of you, though. It felt strange at first, but I like it. Jan and I are also kind of a problem. I would be married to my own sister."
He saw Jan's scowl, and hurredly added, "Don't get me wrong, sis. I think you're gorgeous! I admit that I've had more than a few dreams that you've starred in! What if we were to have any kids together, though? Isn't there a chance something would be wrong with them? I know I've heard that can happen."
It was time to confess. Again. No one had told them our entire history. Neither of them knew about our return trip.

Angeni said, "If you listened closely, you heard what was done for grandma and grandpa Sussmann, along with a lot of other people. If we did this for you, you'd live just as long as we will."
Jim perked up. "Would you?"
Beth answered. "If we did, you would stop aging at the point it was done. Wouldn't you rather wait for a while?"
"Heck, no!" Jan said, "I like this age! As far as I'm concerned, everything is just the size I want it to be. Maybe we should wait until Matt tries everything on for size, though."
Jan said that with such a straight face that even I laughed!
It got worse when Jim piped in with, "I can't believe I'm this anxious to make love to a bunch of women old enough to be my grannies!"
I had one bit of advice for Jim. "Before you do, there's one thing you should let me help you with."
When I told him it was stamina, he replied, "Hel Yeah!"
Bedtime was still hours away after that little job was accomplished. We refused to call it a night early, however.
Others were called in. We went over weapons and tactics. Keeli took the floor, and told us all she knew of the Kraal. Admittedly, it was little. Very few had escaped their clutches to impart the information to others. Those that had, revealed that the Kraal did have fighter craft, as well as smaller classes of ships. What we had chanced across was a lone raider. The Borealans feared that by destroying it, we had invited larger incursions by our enemy. The Kraal were not accustomed to losing ships. They most certainly would not take it lying down.
The fighters that were known were all of one type. It was equivalent to our "Spear" class. This was the largest of the three we had developed. The others were the "Stinger," and the "Sword". These were our small and medium classes, respectively.
Armaments known to be used by the Kraal were a type of energy weapon, a nuke, and a pulsed laser. They were eerily similar to our own, albeit more powerful. They had nothing like the antimatter weapons, as far as anyone knew.
Communications had been sent out to several other races, but only one reply had been recieved. That was from the Gallians. They were an advanced race whom the Kraal had been harassing for several decades. They were a race that had a "hive mentality."
The Queen was hereditary, and irreplacable. Recently, her convoy had been intercepted. She was presently being held as a body slave on the Kraal's home world. They knew this due to the fact that they were telepathic. They wanted her back badly, but did not posess the means to rescue her.
All they promised was that if we demonstrated to them that an alliance with us could actually defeat the enemy, they would consider it. To verify this, they proposed that several representatives accompany us on our missions. These individuals would relay the results of our actions to the hive, if they were able to (as in alive).
Aleea described the appearance of the Gallians, and they didn't sound too horrible. According to her, they were tan in color. They also had two legs, and two arms, like us. One difference was that they had eight fingers and a long, thumb-like appendage. Another was the fact that they were roughly four feet tall. They also had Long ears that were pointed, and no body hair. They sounded almost like Yoda!
We would wait on their representatives to arrive before departing. The first mission would be to the same area where the Boreleans had been discovered, for lack of a better idea. If nothing was found there, we would continue on to Boreal. A planet that already had infrastructure and habitation should not be wasted. The natives might not be ready to return, but there were others that were eager to investigate.
Not only was it ready-made, but the Borelean ships were all there. Our fleet could be doubled overnight. Even though they were not a particularly warlike race, they posessed several warships. These would be ferried to the Eridani sector to be refitted with the new weaponry.
While we were waiting, another wedding took place. Jim and Jan were joining our group. I think that I was as nervous as the newest members afterwards. At least Jim would have it somewhat easier than he might have. Joan was very pregnant with triplets. With her small frame, she thought it might be wise to refrain from any intercourse until the children were born. Keeli and Aleea were due any day now, and would also be onlookers. That still left ten (eleven counting Jan), for him to deal with soon.
