“Is this the same woman whose clothes we noticed on the living room floor Monday night?” Brenda teased.

An hour later, the front doorbell chimed. Karen smiled, recognizing Wendy’s car. “Hi honey, glad you could come over.”
“Thank you, I’m already nervous thinking what might happen.”
“What can possibly happen from having an innocent coffee with Dan and me?” She gave a sly grin.
