Now there might not have been any three hundreds bowled, though one came as close as you can get, but there was some seriously good bowling starting with match one. This time it was the women leading the way for the 'Eagles' beginning with Alison Deijon's three win 814-series and that sent her opponent Maria Cartwright to the 'Sex Show' by the sixth frame of the second game and to an appointment with a member of the audience by the second frame of the third. In the second game Angela Charlton went two pins better, still without much support, however Alice Busby's second 257 received even less support and the 'Ravens' turned a two points to five deficit into an eight-six lead. Unfortunately that was that the extent of the their challenge for a spot in the top ten, Brian West's third game 279 was never going to anywhere near enough to support two sub two hundred games.
