Cassie Parkhurst stepped out of the shower and dried herself thoroughly before going back into her bedroom. She had known Sue Mallory for almost ten years since Sue and Harry had first moved to town. This wasn’t the first time she had dined at the Mallory house, but it was the first Christmas dinner, and it was unexpected. Sue had only called her yesterday morning, Christmas Eve, asking if she had plans. She had sounded so insistent that Cassie had agreed. As she slipped into it, she thought back to the first time she had met Sue, almost ten years ago.
It had been at a workout center that Cassie had joined. Sue had been a frequent visitor to the gym maintained at the Norfolk Naval Base for officers and their wives and had promptly found a new club once her family moved to the Midwest. They first saw each other while taking an aerobics class and started talking during a break. After that, they would pair up and exercise side by side, the short little redhead and the much taller and older brunette.
The pair had just finished showering after the class one Friday afternoon when Cassie noticed that Sue was getting dressed to go out instead of going home. Changing into her own jeans and tee-shirt, she watched as her friend pulled on a pair of tiny white lace panties, then pulled a short and flirty sundress over her head. “Big date tonight?” she asked as Sue began to strap on a pair of high-heeled sandals.
“Harry’s coming over to pick me up and take me to dinner and then go dancing. His parents have the kids for the night,” Sue explained.

The pair walked down the second-floor balcony past the glass wall separating them from the lobby. Cassie stopped Sue with a hand on her elbow and pointed through the heavy glass at a tall, good-looking man down in the lobby. He was intermediate in age to the pair, quite large, wearing chinos and a short-sleeved knit sport shirt, and his powerful physique was obvious. “How about that for your private workout? You know, I always want to find out, when a guy is that big and muscular, is everything big and muscular? Don’t you ever wonder whether we’re talking a giant salami or a Jimmy Dean sausage?” She continued in this vein as they continued down the stairs and through the door to the lobby.
Cassie was surprised when the Greek god looked up at them as they came through the door. He headed their way, and Sue tossed her gym bag at him. He deftly snatched it in midair and came closer. “Hi, hun,” he said, leaning down to kiss her.
Sue returned the kiss, then pulled back a touch. “Harry, I want you to meet a friend of mine. Cassie, this is my husband, Harry. Harry, this is Cassie Parkhurst. We met here at the gym.” Her eyes twinkled in silent laughter at her friend.
“Nice to meet you,” he said, shaking her hand.
“Likewise,” said Cassie, flushing redly. Turning her head, she whispered to Sue, “You are going to pay for this!”
Sue started laughing, then took her mystified husband by the arm and led him outside. She turned back to Cassie before leaving and said, “I’ll tell you how the sausage tastes,” then left.
Sue rode Cassie unmercifully the next time they were at the gym, bragging about the size of the giant salami and how she was able to dine on it all night long. Sue admitted that her panties lasted only long enough to get to the restaurant, then Harry had yanked them off before letting Sue out of the car. After leaving the bar where they had gone afterwards, the pair had gone parking and screwed until dawn.
The pair had become firm friends over the years since. Cassie worked as an office manager at one of the big corporations in town and helped Sue get her job there when the Mallory’s had bought their bigger house, and she had been one of the first to show up after Harry’s death and had stayed several nights to help with the twins.
