Geha felt almost as miserable as she had in the Portel room on Lorman’s Starbase. While she was free of the tormenting mocking of that infuriating woman calling herself Jane Smith and was no longer compelled to betray the ones she loved, she knew her life was a lie and that her real name was Sybil Putnam. Her body was perhaps not even the one she had been born with. Geha only knew for certain that she wasn’t the girl she always thought she was and that her existence was based on deceit. She felt glad to be reunited with Martha and Sister; each of her friends was alone it seemed, their lives forever changed in the slave pens of Alvor’s Cove.

Martha had managed to enlist the help of an enigmatic woman, with apparently enormous resources even within the Union and independent of NAVINT and fleet. Geha, Martha, and Sister each had been on a strange odyssey, a journey that did not stop for any of them even after their apparent rescue in the Forbidden Forests of Phantas.

The woman helping them called herself Cherubim. A name or a title that meant nothing to Geha. Geha did not understand the agenda or the motivation of this Cherubim to help them.

Currently, they were aboard a very small satellite thing in a polar orbit around planet Earth.

She remembered still only vague things about Sybil Putnam. There was this mental echo of faint voices making fun of her name, claiming that it should be Cybil and not Sybil. Another such insubstantial voice of her memories explained that this was the way Privileged spelled that name. It seemed odd to her that she suddenly remembered unimportant things like that. Another such memory revolved around a simple, soft material doll. She remembered Missi, the smiling face, the braided hair made of thick strings of some kind of fabric. Missi, unlike other toys, had no tech incorporated but still came to life in her childhood memories. Other things like her Union school days were vague and more than just incomplete. The closer she got to adulthood in her dreams and memories, the more vague and incomplete her memories became. Somehow she knew that her new personality, that of Geha had blotted out the rest. She recalled next to nothing about Geha’s childhood but Geha’s memories got stronger with every year of memories. Her recollection of her teenage years growing up with Bas, the son of the Tar was crisp and clear. She could remember the smallest details. Of course, this was her true mission and purpose, to remember everything about the Dai.

Terribly confused about her own identity, she was terribly ashamed of her betrayal of the ones she loved. As a Daiyee of a very large Dai Tribe and a fighting female, she was educated like all the other fighters and warriors. Thus she prided herself knowing the spaceships of most of the spacefaring societies. However, what approached the small satellite station was something she had never seen. Somehow it did have Union distinct elements, but it was unlike anything she knew. The approaching ship looked almost like a spider or perhaps a clawed hand with four talon shaped articulated arms.

Martha was not an expert on spaceships by a long shot. To her, it was a thing one used to get from one planet to another unless there was a Space Train Connection. She was a biologist and machines of any kind were there to function and do their thing. She never really cared about how a machine did what it did. She too watched the approaching thing; to her it was just another space-born vessel.

Similar to Martha, Sister had no clear reference to spaceships. Her collective memory fragments did not provide her with a clear reference she could use.

Geha estimated the ship to be about a thousand meters in length. A better estimate was virtually impossible, as space provided no clear reference to size. It was Union fleet gray and despite its somewhat organic shape, did not look organic at all.

Cherubim entered the small community room that served as a dining and sleeping compartment. “Ladies our ride is here, conditions aboard the Tarantula are much better than here.”

“Where are we going?” Martha asked.

“We are going to Shadow. That is the name of a dark object, well beyond the Oort Cloud. It is a planetoid about a parsec from here and it is the base for the TSI. Only a very few know it exists.”

“And what will we be doing there?” Again, Martha asked.

“We hope we can correct the Psychosurgery done on Geha and, if she wants, to send her back to Freespace. We also hope that we can convince Sister to help us find the Cripple Techs, namely the Knorr-Magi. You, Martha are integral to get your son to help us to access the key.”

“What key? You mentioned an alien machine. What has he to do with that? I must also ask, what is your ultimate agenda? I do not like involving my son in anything, especially not into anything I don’t know about. I appreciate your help and getting all three of us together and away from those who hunt us, but I can’t betray my son.”

The woman called Cherubim responded. “I understand your concerns and your position. Roy will not be forced to do anything and it will be the Eternal Warrior who will ask him to assist. I will explain it all to you in detail, but we must leave this Satellite now.”

--””—

The Saran woman known to Lulea as Panya Keket, landed the flyer almost two clicks from Eastmain on a small unoccupied island.

She smiled deeply and turned to the Saran spy. “They are all there.”

Lulea still had the Kermac scanner on her lap. “I don’t see anyone.”

The disguised Kermac laughed. “Do you think you and I are enough to take down an armed marine and a robot, take the Experiment into possession and take it to Kermac space?”

The Saran spy had to agree, neither of them had enough firepower to do so. “I was wondering about that, to be honest.”

“You saw me lie down, did you not listen in?”

“Of course not, I would never invade someone telepathically. It is against the law.”

“You are a spy. You conspire against this cursed so-called Union and you are afraid of breaking such a silly law?”

“You are a disguised Kermac, have you not been briefed on the Psi Laws? They are not silly, and while I committed terrible crimes against the Union, because of my own stupidity to be honest, the PSI laws are sacred to all Union people. They are anything but stupid. Would the Kermac not wish something similar?”

“Why would we? The lower masses are forbidden to read the minds of Wizards. Wizards have mind shields. How else can we rule? We don’t need such silly laws. The universe knows of our superiority and our right to rule with all the tools and gifts we have.”

Lulea was thinking about turning herself in, the convictions that turned her against the Union had long eroded. All that kept her in line with her Kermac handler was the fear of what Union law did to convicted spies. She also knew the Psi laws were not just words and formulated ideas, but they were enforced. Aloud she said, after looking over the empty dirt beach. “Neither the sensors nor my eyes can see anyone out there. Are you sure whoever you are expecting is here?”

“Of course, I am sure. It took us years to assemble such a clandestine force on this primitive planet. It is mostly abandoned; the ones with real power live in that torus anyway.”

Now she saw it; wafting shapes emerged from the water. It looked as if twenty ghosts, almost completely invisible shapes surrounded the flyer. The disguised Kermac could not suppress her triumphant laugh as she said. “You are fortunate, little Saresii to be alive and under my rule. Twenty-five Chistel Teep warriors surgically altered to blend in and five genuine Clerks, armed with the latest Union weapons, shields, and adaptive camouflage. They are more than enough to deal with an old Cerberus and a stupid retired marine.”

“Latest Union weapons and suits, how?”

“This is our greatest triumph, over these brainless monkeys. We own and operate a genuine weapon test and evaluation company. Right here on Earth, directly under their noses. Earth is where the cursed Union gets their weapon ideas and we are here.”

The disguised agent opened the side door of the flyer and said loud. “You have your orders. Secure the Experiment, a being with red skin and four eyes and obliterate any witnesses. Let no one escape.”

The shimmering shapes returned to the water. Lulea said. “They will use GalNet to call for help.”

“No, they won’t. We can’t duplicate it yet, but we can jam it. Another advance I will take home to Kermac Prime and once we can mass produce it, the war will quickly change to our favor. Kermac victory is possible now. Resurrected warriors, copied Terran weapons, and taking their ability to community. Saresii vassal, you are seeing the beginning of Kermac Universal victory.”

--””—

It was a sunny morning. Crisp and clear, the long strips of pebble beach stretching along the banks of James Bay. Sam and Phil were sitting in the sun-flooded dining hall of the clean and cozy Eneyaauhkaat Lodge. Each of them had a serious breakfast before them: eggs, hash browns, sausages, bacon ... the works. There was fresh and strong coffee in big mugs.

Charles was standing by the window. He did not require breakfast and the wooden chairs in this place would not hold his weight.

Sam used a piece of freshly toasted bread to mop up egg yolk and said after eating it. “The breakfast here alone is worth the trip, Mr. Decker.”

The immortal detective, also busy with his breakfast nodded while chewing and then said. “We went over this, Sam. You can call me Phil.”

“Alright, Phil, even though I can sense you are indeed one of the Immortals and this creates a feeling of awe. You guys radiate it.”

“I was born in 1912 right on this planet. I am Terran, Sam. Just like you. I was not picked by that guardian to be an immortal guide like venerable Stahl. He, chief among all Immortals has indeed become the Eternal Warrior. I am not a guide, Sam. I have no supreme purpose like the 200 picked by that Guardian. I am just a policeman, a detective and there is nothing else I want to be. That I am a little over three thousand years old is a fact I like to ignore for the most part.”

Phil leaned on his elbows as he reached for his coffee mug. “I looked into your background and history, Sam. It is I who is greatly in awe about your exploits and your story, especially what you have done as a RAvE man. Finding someone’s trail out there beyond Union space is nothing less than amazing to me. This is real detective work my new friend, and you did it under conditions many would think of as impossible. No, Sam don’t think of me as some supernatural being on a pedestal, just because my body and mind have forgotten how to age.”

Sam slowly nodded. “I very much appreciate your offer of friendship, Sir. I mean Phil.”

The immortal detective looked up to Charles. “How about you?”

“I am a machine, Phil. I do not sense anything when you or Admiral Stahl are present. I have downloaded and consumed all that is available on you and I do share Sam’s awe and respect.” Charles fell silent and after a short moment, the machine said. “Analyzing and recalling the incidents where I met the Immortal Warrior, I must edit my previous statement. None of my sensors detected anything other than human, but still, I was in great awe.”

Sam smiled looking sideways and up. “You are not really a machine anymore. I think you developed a soul, my Ultronit friend.”

Then he took a sip of his coffee. “Martha, a hooded and obscured figure and a woman was here two days ago, but they have vanished. Pierre’s flyer is still there, and nothing is missing in terms of transports around here. If they walked, where would they have gone? There is nothing out there that could be reached on foot.”

Phil looked out the window. “It’s the woman she was with; I think it was Cherubim. I have suspected her to be involved since I arrived and began looking into the case. There is a chance that there is some kind of hidden TSI facility somewhere nearby.”

Sam followed the man’s gaze and asked. “Who is Cherubim?”

“I don’t know, Sam. I never actually met her. She is an immortal, I think. Others believe many individuals are operating under the same moniker.”

He waved the waitress for more coffee and continued. “Cherubim has been active since I have known about Extraterrestrial life, or since 1957 to be exact. Long before there even was a United Earth. Neither McElligott nor Stahl was even born back then. Cherubim back then acted as an assassin, leaving Black Roses as her calling card with every victim. She was and technically is my oldest unsolved case. Over the years she became involved with the TSI, which is a forerunner of NAVINT or ANA if you will. Created by Earthers as an intelligence service, Terran Space Intelligence was small compared to the Gray Cats of the Saresii for example. But like the Mossad of my time, they were the best. Officially disbanded and merged with Union intelligence services like all the others, some say it still exists with Earth and Terra as focus, even over Union interests.

Cherubim, I think is an immortal and like me, not picked by the Guardian. I think she is among the most powerful psionic talents, combining all gifts. Telekinesis, Teleportation and Telepathy, and all versions of these abilities. This is only an assumption. However Martha’s sudden deep knowledge in field craft, the disappearance of the one they call ‘The Experiment’ and the similar unexplainable disappearance of the one called Geha, last seen right by the entrance of the official NAVINT building on Lorman’s Starbase lead me to this conclusion.”

“I followed these three women to a place known as Bhrama Port, deep in Freespace. The three vanished only to resurface deep in Union Space. Martha returned for a spell to Green Hell and this is how I got involved in all this right now.”

“I know, Sam. I’ve had an eye on Green Hell since the Saresii-Saran shipwreck incident and the invasion of Kermac agents. I was there at Ant Hill when everything suddenly changed. Cherubim appeared in voice and as an avatar, I think, and she recruited a Union Police sergeant. Nothing of him remained, no records, no one remembers him ever to exist. Erasing someone so completely is difficult and it was done masterfully.”

Sam’s gaze got lost in the distance. “Yes, it was a very strange victory. Admiral Stahl and the Devi arrived, but I am certain it was something else that caused the ground victory before the Immortal arrived.”

“That is where we must go next, Sam; Green Hell, as all my leads point to that world of yours.”

“Yes, I think Charles and I are ready to go home anyway. I can always check out South Carolina at some other time. I begin to see the same, all paths and trails lead back to Green Hell.”

Phil took another sip and then said. “I think it will start soon. They are here.”

Sam nodded. “I had the same feeling.” He got up, pressed a sensor on the battle armor he was wearing completing the seal and activated shields. “Time to put this baby to use.”

Phil was impressed. “Looks like a Special Forces Quasimodo Mark III, where did you get this? It’s not even out for troops yet.”

“It was a gift of the Marine Commandant after the Eternal Warrior suggested it.”

“Seems Admiral Stahl did not forget the former Sergeant Major of the Marine Corps.”

“I was the Sergeant Major of the Marine Corps for the Corps, Phil. A boring desk job, and the main reason I retired. I was and always will be Stahl’s Gunny with the Steel Gauntlet, and no he has never forgotten. Charles remains Charles because of him.”

The robot said. “I am an SII Cerberus IV Main Battle Robot and before I became sentient, I was considered military surplus. After the battle on Green Hell, I was fully restored by orders of the Eternal Warrior and, like Sam, I was fortunate to receive a few upgrades while we were in San Francisco.”

Sam drew his TKU, “Charles, go to full battle mode. Light up all upgrades.”

Sam, then said. “Phil, are you not having battle suit protection? I have a feeling you will need it.”

Phil Decker carefully placed his Fedora on his head, giving the rim a brushing gesture. “I am wearing my trench coat; that will do.” The immortal detective did draw his antique-looking colt.

“Your trench coat?”

“I doubt there is a weapon in this universe that could harm me while wearing it. I learned my lesson in a warehouse not so long ago, never leave home without it.”

--””—

The Ancient Teacher pulled his elaborate robe over his head in a surprising move deep in the Forbidden vault, revealing a modern black Saresii Catsuit. Alegar looked like a statuesque beautiful woman as this was the Saresii society standard. The Ancient Teacher, according to his claim was born during the First Age of Knowledge, where males and females were distinctly different in their appearance. The change to an all-female appearing society occurred after the Long Night and during the Anti-Male Hysteria.

Alegar stood there watching this strange behavior and asked. “Master Alameda, why are you shedding your robe?”

“Is it not customary to travel in more appropriate garments, I do not want to advertise who I am to everyone.”

(Checked by Glenn) Martha watched as Cherubim once again entered the main lounge of the small ship. “Cherubim, you say we are on our way back to Green Hell?” “No, Martha, we are not, your son is. Official Union authorities, as well as several very dangerous groups, are after the three of you.” Martha waved towards the viewport. “I thought we were going to Green Hell, so my son can find that guardian and a way for us to find that Techno Mage?” “Your son is about to reach Green Hell, and he...

Adventures of a Greenie Green Marine Vol 3Chapter 12 Compelled to Betray

Sam could not deny a sense of deep friendship as he saw the towering Cerberus standing there by the entrance. Even though it was a Mark IV, made obsolete quite a while ago with the Union military now using the Mark IX, it still was an impressive combat system. The fact that Charles was truly sentient made the Cerberus much more dangerous than any known main battle system in Sam’s opinion. Sam has just stepped out of a TMT booth and onto Treasure Island Plaza, right before the sky-reaching...

Roy doubted there could be a moment more perfect than this one. There beneath the invigorating light of a GIII type yellow sun, standing at attention, wearing his dress uniform, he and the other 22 were officially decorated in recognition of their heroic deeds. However, that he was the one receiving the Navy Cross was not the source of this feeling that made him almost explode with pride. It was the fact that Admiral Stahl, commemorating his Marine roots and wearing an old fashioned but still...

Ken Kener, the Triple Strong was the first who had his rack inspection ready. He was always first in things like that. Ken somehow managed to have his boots shined, his footlocker squared exactly to specifications and his bunk looked like the image in the recruit handbook. Faragon, was on the opposite spectrum and struggled with these things. Ken grinned and even found time to help the Drach before their instructor called them all into attention. Their drill instructor was a Botnaar. Roy...

Martha stared at the small man standing in the door of her cabin, holding a small Neuro Ripper. Her former colleague had closed the door behind him and his face was graced by a smug and evil smile. “I am asking nicely, but only once: Where are you meeting the Experiment exactly?” Dr. Evans was quite assured of himself. She was helpless and he was in charge. But the Martha he knew was not the same that stood before him. She had gone through quite an ordeal, an ordeal that had taught her a few...

Adventures of a Greenie Green Marine Vol 3Chapter 13 Prelude to Action

(This is the one Glenn checked) “Fleet assets are on their way,” the XO of the USS John Basilone yelled across the sudden chaos unfolding on the Tripoli Class dropship. It had been completely unprepared when it dropped out of Quasi just moments after a large Galactic Council fleet which was conducting a full-scale attack. Captain Bragg had completed this run to the Champain system many hundred times. Even while the first Line Cannon barrage raked across the hull of the Basilone, and the...

Sergeant Leven had second thoughts as he was leading his platoon of recruits away from the damaged dropship. None of them had ever worn a Destroyer suit before. The first introduction to these marvels of Union military technology was planned for tomorrow and then the first planet drop would commence. That was the plan at least before the Basilone dropped into a system filled with angry Larkami battleships. Glancing back his heart sank as he saw the proud dropship trailing a cloud of debris....

(Beta Checked by Glenn) USS John Basilone had put up a good fight, a role she was not meant to be in. She was a Marine Dropship, designed to follow battleships and swarms of Deep space fighters who blazed a path for the dropships. Unmolested as little as possible so they could unload their loads of Orbital Assault Marines upon a planet. Marines were also used to board damaged enemy units. Units that had been disabled and damaged by combat vessels. It was unfortunate that the captain of the...

(Made better by Glenn) Montreal was still a beautiful human city, with many sights to see, but with the exception of a sentient machine none of the that had followed Sam Brown had any interest in the sights of this town. While this city, like most Earth cities, had become very quiet, it was as if the cradle of humanity had fallen asleep. It was technically still a very important place, but almost all industry had moved either to the artificial ring that now circled this famous and perhaps...

The Saran woman entered the hotel room she and the Saresii had occupied since they arrived in Montreal. They both were working for the Kermac Ministry of Information and thus for the enemy. She had been a member of the Black Cat society and like all Black Cats very opposed to the Gray Cat society, a rivalry as old as time. The Gray Cats had become the dominant group and influenced everything in Saresii life, while all the other societies, like the Red Cats or the White Cats, withered away to...

The United Stars of the Galaxies, more commonly and simply referred to as the Union, was as societies went, still young, and had only existed for about 2700 years. This was not a very long time even in human terms. There had been empires and societies existing for much longer than that. Compared to other galactic societies and empires past and present, the Union had not even really started. In this short time, however, it managed to spread over a considerable region of space and even into...

The planet and the system had many names, but to most it was known as Summit Peak. Like the Planet of Universal Peace, this world was also famous for being a place for important meetings between space-faring societies. It was almost forgotten during the height of the First Galactic Council, as such trans-society meetings took place on the Planet of Universal Peace. However when the Original Galactic Council became a farce to most because of the Kermac demanding sole control and the rise of...

McElligott was not certain what talents the Glou might have, but he was pretty sure they were based on Psionics, and this latest Union shield technology was not only opaque to it, but an effective way to isolate a psionic user from accessing that trans-spatial condition where Psions could be accessed. The house he called home was a dome shaped Ultronit sphere; made out of the same material they made battle ship armor out of. The house had two levels and once had been a forward research outpost on Green Hell and served as his families’ home ever since he was born. Roy switched on the outside visual sensor and waited for the Institute Floater that would take his parents away. The visual sensor was on a sturdy telescopic mast and inside a strong protective housing and could be steered and...

Adventures of a Greenie Vol 1Chapter 4 Roy Meets a New Friend

Dr. Ivan Harrow disconnected the Comm-Link with a forceful gesture, reflecting his feeling of annoyance. He really respected Paul Masters and he simply adored Martha, but he hated to be called while he was attending a lecture at the annual Galactic life-sciences Conference. This time it was being held on Earth (Terra) and the ancient hallowed grounds of the famous Cambridge University. Even though he was unable to attend in person this year, and he was there only via GalNet tele-presence...

Adventures of a Greenie Vol 1Chapter 6 Change can be a Good Thing

Roy had left his animal with heavy heart and foreboding gloomy thoughts in the mostly gutted ruin of Research Outpost 2. Even though he was sure the animal understood and would wait for him, he feared he might have seen his new friend the last time. Bob always left Wobbler here, when he had to go inside and Wobbler was always there the next day. Norm’s Zisch always came right out of the water; so Roy sighed and petted the humongous head of the black beast and received a dry lick across the...

Adventures of a Greenie Vol 1Chapter 8 Decision Time

Roy and the others were still outside and while the pebble beach here at the Big Lake was far safer than the jungle; even here it was not a good idea to stay too long at the same spot. A Stomper crushed through the thicket into the open, what made him storm onto the pebble beach was not clear to Roy and he wondered about it. As Stompers rarely if ever actually came into the open, they feared nothing except Water Snakes. There was a collective scream of fear going through the crowd at Ma...

Adventures of a Greenie Vol 1Chapter 13 More Clues

Celyciia, the Federal Police officer of the Recksnostal precinct was on her way to the interrogation room where she had the Warden of Penal Colony 23. Phil Decker the old detective wanted to question the Warden and not eat him, as she now knew. They had returned from Planet Parajsa after over two days of detailed investigation. She was completely fascinated with this man who had lived on the Human world Earth before they even knew there were other sentient life forms in the Galaxy. He wasn’t...

Adventures of a Greenie Vol 1Chapter 11 Sobodys Seat

Far from Green Hell, an asteroid without a corresponding solar system slowly made its way to a region called Ballard’s Expanse in Union galactic maps. The asteroid would reach this dense dust cloud around the year 5020. The asteroid was a wanderer on a course across the Galaxy for many eons. This big chunk of rock and ice was hollow and known as Sobody’s Seat. One of the fabulous Galactic Markets operated by this neutral and enigmatic civilization. Some claimed that the Golden were somehow...

Adventures of a Greenie Vol 1Chapter 20

The Admiral was gone, and so was the Devastator so the Silver Swan was once more on her way to its next destination. Roy was back in his suite, Cara sat next to him on his balcony. They had both watched the Devastator accelerate and go to trans light in a flash. Even though there was no sense of size in deep space as there was no reference. The immense ship had dwarfed the Silver Swan to insignificance hanging next to her and then as the most famous ship of the entire Galaxy accelerated they...

Adventures of a Greenie Off Planet Vol 2Chapter 3 Humongous

He did not know how long he had cried and he must have fallen asleep. This time there was no dream of his mother. He was certain he imagined things but there was a warm heavy arm on his shoulder and as he looked up a man sat next to him, the energy curtain was gone and the marine that mocked him stood there with a black eye and with a face of pure fright. “Everything is going to be alright, Roy.” The man next to him wore an all-black uniform, his calf-high boots polished to a mirror shine....

Adventures of a Greenie Off Planet Vol 2Chapter 10 Tanya

The view was awesome, absolutely awesome. He could see the entire ocean of trees and far in the distance the shimmering of an ocean, a river meandered in a green valley far below. He saw tiny houses there and on the side of a mountain, he saw tiny dots sliding down that white stuff. On top of the other mountain was a building of sorts. Connected with little gondolas traveling up and down suspended on cables. He wondered what they were doing and said to Partner. “It’s freaking cold up here...

Adventures of a Greenie Off Planet Vol 2Chapter 11 Leaving Odenworld

Roy returned to the hotel to find Cara in the sitting room of their shared suite. She was lounging in a comfortable chair with her legs up gathered in a feminine fashion. A field screen displaying apparently local news floated before her. Cara had her long silvery hair open and wore something soft caressing her curves. To Roy, she had always been an exceptional beauty of exotic grace, but now his mind compared her to his Tanya, and in his mind, no female could compare to her. Just as he was...

Roy was quite angry, partially at the situation, partially at himself but mostly at Paul Masters, Yet he should have known better, he grew up sharing a home with Pau; Masters, who was according to human biology, Union law and common convention, his father, Roy, at first never saw anything unusual in the rather unsocial behavior of his father, but when he started school and heard about how other fathers treated and connected with their offspring, Roy knew his father was indeed not what one...

The Space Train terminal was located on the very apex of the truly gigantic station known as Sares Hub. Roy, while he started to become a seasoned traveler, still found places like this overwhelming. There was so much activity, this was by far the busiest place he had been so far. He had to admit he was glad Tanya was with him. She was not intimidated and seemed to know where to go. While he traveled with Cara, who also always seemed to know where to go and what to do, it was different with...

Ieshia pressed a sub-dermal contact on the base of her jaw and tapped it twice and with that she activated her Data Brain connection to GalNet. She now could make GalNet calls directly using her minds speech center without opening her mouth. It took a little practice to separate what you were thinking and what you wanted to say without using your vocal cords or your mouth, but she had been doing it for a long time and because of that she earned a very generous salary. She was an employee, but...

Roy never really thought he would ever meet the Eternal Warrior, the man Uncle Sam respected so much, and now he was sitting across from the legendary man and was questioned. Stahl appeared to be a normal human being but Roy’s back hair stood on end whenever he looked into the eyes of that man. It was just as if staring into deep space. The legendary Admiral wasn’t exactly friendly and his voice had a razor sharp edge. Cara had left to talk with the Wurgus delegates. Ship crew was starting...

“Nice to meet you, Sir. I have to tell you my mother is dead. She and my father were killed in a pirate attack, a little while ago.” The alien creature paid no attention to what Roy had said. “I am a very old Bellebee and I still get confused using the Avatar technology. This is why I wanted to meet you like this, young Masters. Let Cara and Ukdu talk while I show you a few magnificent sights.” Roy carefully adjusted the thrusters and slowly followed the huge being. “Alright, Mr. Moke-Die....

Celyciia Paydhal and Sergeant Ruddick sat on a picnic blanket in the soft ankle deep grass of North Africa Park, the largest Terran style park of Reckno City. The capitol of Recksnostal Colony. Ruddick said after he devoured another sandwich. “This is how I dreamed police work would be, before I ever joined the force.” Celyciia smiled. “Having a picnic in the park and eating while on duty?” He shook his head. “Of course not, I eat all the time on duty or not. No I mean us listening in on...

Adventures of a Greenie Off Planet Vol 2Chapter 2 Belle Station

Roy had learned that the ship he was on was a Saresii Courier and officially operated under the charter of the Science Council. It was a Henjiitah Class cruiser and 600 meters long. It had the outer appearance of an elongated bulbous plant leaf and reminded him of the thick water filled fleshy leaves of the Glow bush. The ship was not green however but had an iridescent color of pearly pale orange. The ship was called the Gayimeera and since it was not a Union Fleet unit it did not carry the...

The trip back to Belle Station was eventless and so was boarding another long-range shuttle to the outermost planet of the system a few hours later. The intersystem trip would take only 35 minutes as the shuttle did have FTL engines and would bridge most of the six light hours in Quasi space. Sobyr did not even bother finding a seat and went straight to the shuttle’s small lounge for a burger. Roy was too excited to eat or feel hungry, so he opted for a cup of water. “What are they doing...

Siebzehfie, a high ranking Wizard in the Ministry of Information just finished consuming a detailed intelligence report and then looked up and noticed a new participant just taking a seat at the perfectly round, white table at the top of the Ministry of Information tower. There was a shocked hushed silence because it was the Supreme Wizard himself. No one knew how to react, this was unprecedented. The Supreme leader of all Kermac was accompanied by two other Kermac. The one to his right was...

The ship must have gone trans-light, so far they had not spaced anyone. Roy and everyone else had been left behind in one of the destroyers cargo holds. As Cara walked by Partner he saw something his four-legged friend has never done, he flashed his formidable teeth and growled deeply at the Saresii woman. From his animal, he received emotions of confusion and anger towards Cara. She hissed at Partner. “Shut up, stupid beast.” Then she walked out the door. Partner had always liked Cara,...

There were those who doubted the Union could win this war. The Galactic Council led and controlled by the Kermac, was a powerful entity, with hundreds of Thrall species, massive fleets and many millions of warriors. The Larkami were no exception, difficult to control but tremendous fighters. Ninsibfiv, the High Wizard of the Military himself had traveled to Lark, the homeworld of the Larkami to coordinate. Space bus travel was subsidized and tightly regulated under the Travel Assistance Act of 2224. Union Citizens took this service for granted, as it connected virtually every possible destination within Union Space, but the envy of so many other societies. Roy had his head turned to the viewport on his right, rather than using the field screen he could have activated. Cara and Roy had left their seats for a ight meal in the main lounge. Partner insisted to be there as well. While the huge black animal never wanted for any sort of food, it was happily consuming the leftovers and wrappers Roy tossed its way. Cara had finished most of her Muuhn cakes, which were a traditional Saresii lunch item. She educated him, that these vegetarian-based air baked protein dumplings were considered spicy on Sares. He tried, and to him, it was as if eating something...

Paul no longer looked like a slave. He was clean, well-groomed and wore a loose-fitting, light brown colored shirt and pants combination underneath an open seamed dark brown dust cloak, that was so common on Alvor’s Cove. The belt pouch contained an Alvor’s Cove resident license, officially purchased and verified. The colony officials selling these and a host of other permits and licenses only cared about the Iridium chips or the Fullweights they charged and did not ask any questions at...

Kukur Nurop found himself covered with bruises from a severe beating and completely naked in the lizard scat composter. His hands tied to his back, it took him quite some effort to get his head over the lid, only to receive a shovel load of more of the revolting greenish lizard poop into his face. He yelled and cursed on the top of his lungs and his racket alerted an Oghr overseer. “What have we here? Trying to escape by hiding in the shit box? Couldn’t handle the stench eh?” I am Kukur...

Nijaii plaza was just like everything else, a perfectly groomed, perfectly clean open space multi-leveled space connected with sweeping two or three-step stairs. Interconnected with water features, gurgling fountains and more of those artistic shaped, but not very natural-looking trees. There wasn’t a single leaf on the ground, no one walked or sat on the carpet like grass. Some of the grass was not even green, but pink and peach-colored. The TMT Gazebo centrally located on that plaza had...

Two hours just weren’t enough to find a man who knew this rock and did not want to be found. Sam knew the Bennett’s were quite serious about their warning. Even with Charles, he could not win. This wasn’t an open planet where he could hide in the wilderness somewhere. This was a closed environment with areas not accessible to him, and with too many eyes and ears. This was the first time Supreme Wizard Zwhehzwheneu noticed that the seven xenomorphs in their hidden chamber right beneath the Tower of the Supreme Wizard were not as arrogant and aloft as they usually acted. They had summoned him and he of course obeyed. “I have heard your call and here I am.” “Our assets, the eyes we have developed within the society known as the Union disappear at an alarming rate. We lost contact with...
