In as much time as Charlie had used, Paul had come to the same conclusions. There was no way that he was going to be separated from Charlie though and perhaps the Emperor would accept both their resignations and allow them to lead the lives they once had on Earth. The Emperor would not take their lives but would remove all of what the Tandra science had bestowed on them.
Amney though was still young and needed all the protection she could get. Perhaps a safe haven on Luna where her mother and the Emperor's other wives would be able to look out for her and the child that Amney thought she now had.
If Amney was mistaken then the girl would be then further along in developing and could start her own family sooner and thus gain happiness. The other side of the coin was that there might be a child of Charlie's either being removed in a few hours or grow to never see his or her father. This last scenario seemed to be the most cruel.
Amney did not understand why the males locked her out of their minds but could see and feel the aftereffects. They grew rigid and she could understand that a lot of thinking was going on. The link to the two males was still open and would always be till death took it away. This told her that both men loved her and wanted the best for her but they thought that their own lives in a major way was over.
"What do you mean, you have to leave me? I found my place and I plan on keeping it unless you force me to leave." This brought on a large load of worry. There was a lot of love she knew and somehow they wanted to protect her by leaving. How could this be? If a women needed protection then they had to stay together. The child, she hoped that was attacking itself within her womb, would need a family to protect her or possibly him.
