Over the next couple of weeks, while they were finishing up the audit, everybody, at Apex, stayed in edge. Everybody, including Kate, were worried that they would be demoted, or even end up fired. She was snapping easily at people during this time, and this was confused by my attitude. I wasn’t worried, I was just my normal, nonchalant self about the whole situation. It wasn’t that I didn’t care, but the way that I looked at it was, ‘whatever happens, happens.’ I told her, ‘ we did everything that we could, it was in their hands now.’ This seemed to calm her down.
After those weeks, everything seemed to calm back down, it seemed like everybody had completely forgotten about the audit, then Monday happened. I got to work, and headed in and noticed some people leaving like they have been fired. I got to my floor, and headed off the elevator and started walking towards my ‘shoebox’. I noticed Kate sitting at her ‘shoehorn’ busily working, going through emails and the daily mail. ‘Good Morning, Katie,’ I say as I’m walking up towards her desk.
She’s dressed gorgeous as usual. Her hair is as usual, straight, silky-smooth. Her face has a touch if black eyeshadow that highlights her, sharp soul-piercing, green eyes. ‘Good morning, boss,’ she smiles, but doesn’t look up, because of what she is reading, ‘how was your weekend?’ She says as she pulls herself away from what she is reading to glance up at me.
‘It was uneventful, but fine, stayed in and watched some baseball, but that’s it, really,’ I say as I look through the mail, ‘how was yours? How’s your mother doing?’ I genuinely say, as I look back up at her amazing eyes.
‘She’s, um,’ getting a little choked up, ‘she’s, ah, the same. The doctors say, that they are going to try something. But I think that they are just trying to keep me hopeful.’
Her mother was in a major car crash, she was hit on the driver side door, the driver was going close to seventy miles per hour. The driver was drunk, walked away fine, but now he’s in jail, and he may be in there for longer, too. For the past two years, Gloria Martinez, Katie’s mother has been in an unresponsive coma.
We talk for a few more minutes, as I look at the mail, then we start the day as I head into the ‘shoebox’. I open the door and with my head down head into the ‘shoebox’, sit down at my desk, while still going through the mail. A few minutes later, finished up and laid the mail on my desk, and then I saw it, a manila envelope.
What the hell is this? I thought to myself, as I looked at it, ‘Hey Kate?’
‘Yes, boss?’ She comes in quickly.
‘Do you know what this is,’ I say as I hold up the envelope, ‘I just noticed it, and I’m wondering if you put it here?’
‘No, I haven’t been in your office since I got in, and nobody has entered your office, since I’ve been here.’
‘Hmm,’ I as look at it, ‘lets open it and see what it is, then.’ I say with a smile on my face. I open it up:

I was impressed by you straight forwardness, during your audit. That is something hard to find in the line of business. So, I’ve talked to Mr. Spencer in what position, your talents would be put to use here at Apex, for the near future. Mr. Spencer and I have looked over your contracts and have decided where to move you.

You are a little ‘wet behind the ears’ at only 25, but I have a ‘gut feeling’ that this will be the right decision in the long run here. My authority is making this possible, Mr. Spencer was not thrilled of this, which that means you are going to have to make even a better impression to him. I almost faint, Kate looks at me terrified. ‘What is it, Aden?’ I almost vomit, but I hand the piece of paper, and in a daze I drop to my chair like a rock.
She looks mortified as I hand her the paper. Then she starts to read it, I’m still in somewhat if a daze when I hear, ‘Ah!!! OH MY GOD, Aden!!!!! I look at her, she has the biggest smile on her face, and she’s jumping up and down as her enormous breast is moving freely under tight constraints under her blouse. She looks at me with a fiery passion. She jumps over and desk, and lands on me causing the cheap chair to squeak loudly and tip over and we both hit the ground.

We could have been laying there for hours, I don’t know, but it felt right. Her laying in my arms, and were just looking at each other. She bends at the knees, goodbye garters, I think, as she helps me up, ‘Thanks, Katie,’ as I stand and start to straighten out my suit, ‘So, I’m guessing you’re happy about the news?’
Laughing she, ‘Yes, you could say,’ says, as I pop my back, ‘are you okay, Aden?’ Sounding worried.
‘I’m fine, I haven’t been hit that hard since football,’ I quip, as I start to stretch out the knots.
She looks at me nervously, ‘Um, Aden, I don’t want to sound so rude and straightforward, but what happens to me?’
‘What do you mean?’ I ask, not understanding her meaning, as my back has eases up.
‘I mean, what happens to me? You got a letter and I didn’t.’
Leaning back against my, now former desk, and cross my arms, ‘Oh, nothing,’ she looks at me, like I just gutted her, ‘you still work with me, if that’s what you want, Kate,’ as the adoration comes back across her face, ‘when you decided to come to work with me, you and I agreed, that we would stick together, through thick and thin, remember, and I keep my promises. Don’t you?’
Her face has brighten up, she hugs me and gives me a peck on the cheek, ‘Aden, I would go anywhere you want.’

We spend t
he rest of the day packing up the old ‘shoebox’ ready to move into the new one on the 34th floor, she’s happy and I’m happy (everybody’s happy, except the ones that got axed, sorry), and things are going smoothly that day. There were sometimes when she would bend down to pick something up that she would forget to bend at the knees, and I would get a wonderful view of her beautiful backside, it shaped like an apple, and ya just want to take a bite out of it.
Monday night, I couldn’t sleep, I tried, but I just couldn’t. I tried everything from reading a boring book to watching infomercials (and now I’m thinking about buying a 300 piece knife set, that can cut steel and butter just as easy). I just couldn’t sleep. I even thought about calling Kate, but I decided not to, she might not like me calling her 3 o’clock in the morning. So I just tossed and turned for another hour, at about 0400 I decided to go to work and get the new office setup. I dressed in my best suit that I had, a blue and black pinstripe suit that my mother bought me (awww), a black pressed shirt, and a blue tie. I got in my car and drove to work, it’s pretty nice driving to downtown LA with no traffic, it actually got to work in like 15 minutes, it usually takes me one or two hours.
When I pulled into the parking garage, the attendant said that I would have an assigned parking place, as would my assistant. That’s that’s freakin’ sweet, I thought. I parked and headed into building, when I reached the security desk the guard told me that I would be needing a new ID badge, for unfettered access to this building and the office located in Asheville, North Carolina. The Asheville office is the one that I will be communicating with almost everyday and, will be having to traveling to most of the time to deal with customers, and/or potential customers. Unless I’m traveling directly to their offices or businesses.
I got my new ID, I headed down towards the storage room where they placed out items after Kate and I cleared out my office(shoebox). The building was completely empty except for the guards doing their rounds or a random member of the janitorial department. It was a little creepy actually, this place is usually buzzing with all sorts of people, either on the phone dealing with customers or talking to each other about their next big contract that they would be making or dealing with. As I got to the storage room, I noticed somebody is where Kate and I place our things, but I didn’t know who this person was, ‘Hello, can I help you?’ I say in my commanding stern voice. It was dark so I couldn’t see who it was.
The figured snapped around look right at me, and I knew who it was, Kate. ‘Why, the hell are you here so damn early, Katie?’ I ask kind of curiously.
‘Why are you here boss?’ she looks at me with those sharp soul-piercing green eyes, and say a little stern herself, ‘I was planning on surprising you with the office all set up, but I guess I can’t do that now, can I?’
She sticks her tongue out at me, and all I can do is stick mine at her too, when I did we start to laugh at each other. ‘Dammit, girl, you won’t let me do anything will you?’
‘Not if I can help it,’ she says as we chuckle, I just shake my head at her.
‘What time did you get here, this morning, night, whatever?’ I ask(not really sure what to call 0430).
‘Um, about,’ looks at her watch, ’10 or so minutes ago.’
‘Damn, I thought I was going to be the first one here, but you beat me here.’
‘Yep.’ sticks her tongue out at me again.
‘If you keep sticking it out, I might as well as put it to good use,’ I give her a seductive smile.
She looks at me with an innocent surprised look, ‘Who me? I’m not that type of girl?! She gives the most seductive innocent look, thats possible.
I’m turning hard by just looking at her face, ‘Ah, Um, lets, ah lets see where you’re at and I’ll help you,’ I say as I walk up towards her, trying to adjust my growing erection, while trying to hide it from her.

As we wait for the elevator, we noticed that the place is still empty. Just a few janitorial people and a couple security guards. What time is it anyway, I think as I look at the wall clock, ‘Only, 0445,’ I say surprised.
‘Hmm?’ Kate says as she looks at the clock, too, ‘wow , it is,’ surprise, also.
‘Hey, Katie,’ I start to ask, ‘after we get to the new office and unload these boxes, you want to grab something to eat?’
‘I would love to, Aden,’ she says as the elevator doors open, ‘and plus, you owe me dinner, remember, and I’ll get it, too.’ She says, as the doors close.

Kate and I enter the elevator, and I press the 34th button. We are giddy as the elevator starts to rise. We have never been to the 34th floor, so we don’t know what to expect when we get there.
Ding! The elevator sounds. We look at each other with anticipation as the doors open. We slowly step out if the elevator, and all we see are four doors and a sign that’s says ‘Senior Marketing Coordinators of the USA division’. We look at each other bewildered, because we were expecting something different. Like a line of offices, not just four doors. We read what each door says, from right to left: Western Division, Mid-Western Division, Northeastern Division, and last but not least, Southeastern Division. My new office, is a quarter of the floor, I’m thinking as we approach the door. As we do, I notice a intercom button and key card lock on my door, ‘Nice,’ I say out loud.
I use my new ID badge, that the guard gave me, and I swipe it. The red light turns green and your hear the lock disengage, the we try the door, it opens smoothly. As the door swings open, all Kate and I can do is laugh. ‘Holy Sh…, this office is enormous!’ I yelp like a little girl.
And it is, I don’t know the dimensions, but it’s big enough to fit maybe 10 of my ‘shoebox’ size offices in. A overlook of the place, from left to right, we see a water cooler, a coffee pot maker and a neverending line, and these filing cabinets end at two doors, one looks like a bathroom and the other looks like a closet. As you pan over to the right we notice, what seems to be, a misshapen completely glass ‘T’ that splits my office and hers from each other.
Her office is about 3 to 4 time the size of my old ‘shoebox’. Her real oak wooden desk comes all the way to the floor. While it faces the neverending row of filing cabinets, it also is up against the small area of the ‘T’. Her desk has one phone, a high-tec, brand new computer and the intercom syste
m that lets people in from the outside of the office, and also able for each us to communicate with each other, with having to yell at each other. The rest of her office has mini-fridge, a table and couple of chairs, a loveseat, and also some filing cabinets. As she put her things away inside her office, I make my way towards mine.
My office is the rest of the space, and it’s beautiful. First off, I notice that it is closed around by the long arm of the ‘T’, and to enter it a glass door needs to be open. When I step into my new office, I first notice my desk, a large real oak desk that comes all the way down to the floor, it’s empty except for a phone and a brand new computer and keyboard. As I stand behind my desk, facing the neverending wall of filing cabinets, I notice the rest of the office. In the right front corner of office is a 27′ flat screen TV, next to it is a full, but small fridge. I also see a table with two chairs sitting around it, could be used to conduct business or could eat at, too. A full fledge couch, that’s runs up from the TV up against a window, where you can see a little bit of downtown Los Angeles, I also see more filing cabinets, too. I sit my stuff down on my desk, and plop down in my new chair, Oh, my God this is comfy, i think, as I start to spin my chair around, laughing.
‘It looks good on you, sweetheart,’ Kate says, as she walks in.
‘Hmm?’ Sorry, I was lost in my own little world for a second there,’ I say, not hearing the ‘sweetheart’ remark, ‘what did you say Katie?’
‘I, ah, said, it looks good on you, Aden,’ she catches herself.
‘Thank you,’ I smile, I signal her to sit in a chair across from me, ‘I was expecting a bigger office, but not this y’know?’ She almost seems disappointed that I didn’t say something else.
‘It is nice, isn’t.’
‘Yep,’ as looked at my watch, ‘wow, it’s only, 0530, and I’m starving, are you ready to eat?’ I ask.
‘I love to, where do you want to go?’
‘I have no idea, this is a fantastic start for a person in my position,’ I say, as we laugh, ‘I’ll let and close friend and confidant decide,’ as l look at her.
She sarcastically smile, as she turn around, ‘who is that, I don’t see anybody else.’ I smile at her, as I roll my eyes, ‘You want fast food or sit down and eat, do you have a preference, swe…Aden?’ As she catches herself, again.
‘I would rather sit and eat, we have about,’ looking at the clock on the wall, ‘2 and half, almost, 3 hours before we were supposed to be here, today.’
‘Ok, let’s see…,’ as she stands up and heads towards her office, to look at a phone book. I start to unload the box that’s on my desk, as I’m finishing up, I hear a triumphant sounding, ‘Ah, ha!’ coming from her office, as she enters my office, ‘found a place, it’s on the Westside though, but it’s open 24/7 and it has decent reviews.’

About 10 minutes later, we are driving towards the restaurant, and we’re in my car. The roads are empty, and the drive is very nonchalant and easy, we arrive at the place. It’s called ‘Aunt Jo’s’ it really doesn’t look like much, but we’re hungry. We walk in, seat ourselves in a booth. The waitress comes over and I order a lemon-water and Kate orders a black coffee. This the first time that we have, actually, gone out together and eat in those 4 months. We are chatting like we’re old friends.
‘Hey, Katie,’ say, while taking a sip if my drink, she looks at me, ‘do you, actually, like working for me?’
‘I…I love y…,’ she stops herself from saying something, and start again, ‘I love working for you.’ She takes a sip of her coffee, and looks at me with adoration, ‘working for you is completely different than working for, I imagine, other bosses. That I see, while we were on the 3rd floor. You are pleasant, nice, considerate, and caring. But at the same time, you expect the best from me, and, and that makes me want to work harder, for you. Why do you ask? Are you disappointed in me? Am I not a good assistant?’ She looks at me with worry in her eyes.
I just smile, ‘No, it’s nothing like that, I was just wondering and being curious,’ taking a sip of lemon water, ‘you’re that best assistant that I could have asked for, hard working and loyal. I wouldn’t be where I am, if it wasn’t for you.’ Sipping my water, I can see her blushing, and the look in her eyes changed from worry and tears to arousal, just like that.
