The next morning he woke up close to noon. Mark had left him a note saying he had gone to Jesse’s and he would see him there. After last night with Jesse, he decided he would take his time and give her some time to cool off. Although he highly doubted she was mad, maybe frustrated, he laughed. He wondered what kind of game she would be playing today, the anticipation of this excited him.
It was past four before he decided to go across the street. He put on a pair of jean cut-offs and a sleeveless t-shirt. There were people everywhere and before he even got to her backyard, at least half a dozen women had come on to him. No wonder Mark liked this, he thought. Now that it was light, he could see the huge bar at one end of the pool and the pool itself was huge. It also was full of people, some in bathing suits and others partially clothed or in nothing at all. Mark was lying on a lounge chair close to the bar talking to some women and obviously enjoying himself.
He pulled up a chair and Mark handed him a beer. He was getting introduced to more people than he could count. Many of which were single women, and they were into having a good time. He could smell food and this immediately made him hungry. Finally he could resist no more and he and Mark went to find something to eat from off the tables of food.
‘Mark, have you seen Jesse around?’ Adam asked.
‘No, but she wouldn’t come out here anyway.’
‘It’s a barbeque, why wouldn’t she? ‘
‘I would imagine because the rules are if you’re out here you’ll most likely get tossed in. ‘ Mark grinned, obviously referring to Jesse not liking being handled.
‘I think I’ll get rid of this beer and get a drink. Maybe I’ll see if I can find our hostess. ‘ He said, irritated at Mark. He went up to the bar and ordered a drink from the bartender. As he was waiting, he saw that Jesse was inside leaning against the patio doors, starring at him. She had on a large white mans dress shirt. The sleeves were rolled up and several of the top buttons were undone. The shirttails came down to her knees, while the sides barely covered her at all. This was obviously covering her bathing suit, he thought to himself. ‘ Make that two drinks, I’ll be right back, ‘ He said to the bartender. He went inside where she was standing.
‘You just get sexier every time I see you, Adam. ‘ She flirted, still leaning against the door.
‘As do you, Jesse. Come outside with me. ‘ He said and took her hand to go out.
‘No, I can’t. ‘ She said slightly nervous.
‘I won’t let anyone throw you in the pool. Come on. Unless you would rather me find someone else to play with. ‘ He said teasing her, and finally, holding his hand tightly, she followed him. He went to the bar and handed her one drink and took his own. They went to where Mark was sitting.
‘Sit here with me, ‘ He said as he sat on one of the lounge chairs.
‘Hey Jesse. ‘ Mark laughed. ‘ It’s about time you got your ass out here and joined your guests.’
The conversation continued, and it wasn’t long before others started joining their group. Adam enjoyed having Jesse sit with him on the lounge chair, enjoying her closeness as well as the attention she attracted. Once they had sat down, the waiters and waitress’s immediately started waiting on her. The bartender also made sure they always had a full drink. He smiled to himself, he could get real use to service like this.
‘Hey Jess, great party! Who’s the guy?’
‘Hi Anna. This is Adam! Cute isn’t he? ‘ Jesse teased.
‘Adorable! Don’t forget to give him my number! ‘ Anna laughed as she walked away. This happened with several of Jesse’s girl friends, and he was very surprised that this didn’t bother her. Most of the women he had been with, would not have liked that at all.
It was hard talking to Jesse alone, most of the time if she wasn’t away helping someone, she was writing checks, or handing out cash to people claiming they needed it. He saw that she even lent out cars and even keys to some of her homes. He again wondered what she was all about as he watched her.
As afternoon turned into evening, party lights started coming on around the pool and the bar. Music played and he heard a band playing inside. Mark was getting to know a young girl named Terri, who they both knew from the bar. She was one of the dancers, so it didn’t surprise him that she had been walking around topless all day, as many other women were now. It was becoming obvious that Terri and Mark were both drunk, and he saw that this was making Jesse uncomfortable.
‘Hi Miss Martin. ‘ Terri said. ‘ You throw great parties. You have so many good- looking guys here. Hi Adam. Is he yours, Miss Martin? ‘
‘They’re all mine if I want them to be, Terri. And you can call me Jesse. I would prefer that. ‘ Jesse said laughing and he couldn’t help but laugh too at hearing her called Miss Martin.
‘Hey Jesse, it’s dark now. Why don’t we all get naked and go swimming? What do you say? I bet Adam there would enjoy it! I sure would. I don’t think I’ve ever seen you in the pool naked. ‘ Mark said teasing and standing up but unsteady on his feet.
‘Great idea! I’m ready! ‘ Terri said, quickly slipping off her bikini bottoms and stood completely naked.
‘Good! Come on you two. ‘ Mark laughed and reached down to take Jesse’s hand but Adam put his on top of hers.
‘I think we’ll pass. ‘ He told Mark, starring at him defiantly. Then he waited for Mark and Terri to leave, before taking his hand from Jesse’s.
‘Thanks. ‘ Jesse said softly.
‘No need! Well, Mark sure was right about one thing.’
‘And what was that?’
‘He said we would be seeing a lot of naked women today. I don’t think I’ve ever seen this many at one time and in one place. ‘ He laughed, and then Jesse started laughing, almost hysterically. She leaned back against him and he put his arms around her, enjoying holding her.
‘So, this being Friday night, how late does this barbeque go on for? ‘
‘Usually until people begin to realize it’s Monday and they have to be to work in several hours. Some leave earlier though.’
‘You’re kidding, right? ‘ He asked, now shocked. ‘ When does the lady sleep?’
‘Life’s too short for sleep, Adam. But I can sleep whenever I want to. I can actually leave and not come back for days. It doesn’t matter, they wouldn’t even know I was gone. ‘
‘They don’t sound like very good friends.’
‘They are my guests, very few of them are my friends. ‘ She said, and then sighed slowly.
‘That sounds very sad, Jesse. Does that not bother you? ‘ He asked softly. She was quiet for a long time and he was beginning to wonder if she would answer him.
‘I don’t think about it. ‘ She turned around to face him, now sitting Indian style between his legs. ‘ Now is what is more important. You really are one of the sexiest men I have ever had the pleasure of touching. ‘ She said, seductively. She ran a finger along his chest tracing the outline of his t-shirt.
‘Oh really! ‘ He laughed. ‘ And I wonder what might be running through your head right now, perhaps a new game, darlin, or just trying to change the subject? ‘ She continued to gently entice him with her fingers on his chest and it was becoming harder for him to ignore.
‘Terri and Mark are on their way back. ‘ She said, her mood changing instantly and he saw her tense.
‘You know, I really need to go back to my house for a few minutes. Do you want to come with me?’
‘Okay. You’re not going to take advantage of me now, are you? ‘ She flirted.
‘Honey, that I’m not promising. It all depends on what it is you want me to do. ‘ He took her hand and after they let Richard know where she would be, they went across the street to his house.
Once inside, he poured them each a glass of wine and set the glasses on the counter in between the kitchen and dining area. He saw that Jesse was still s
tanding by the door.
‘Jesse, is something wrong? ‘ Adam asked.
‘Not really, I was just enjoying looking at you. I was also wondering —- ‘ She hesitated and he walked up to her.
‘You were wondering what?’
‘If you were ever going to kiss me today! ‘
With a short laugh, he took her in his arms and kissed her more aggressively, his tongue pushing its way into her mouth, exploring her tongue, sucking on it. He could feel her melt in his arms, as her tongue responded, with his.
‘Is that better? ‘ Adam finally asked breaking the kiss.
‘Much better. ‘ She whispered, and he couldn’t help but chuckle at her breathlessness.
‘Glad I could be of service. ‘ He teased. Taking her hand, he led her to the couch so she could sit down, he got their wine and then sat next to her. She took a sip of the wine and placed it on the table in front of the couch.
‘So what was it that you needed to come home for? ‘ She asked, now looking at him with a familiar provoking smile. Without answering, he took her in his arms and brought her close to him. His lips brushing softly against hers, this time kissing her with a warmth and tenderness that surprised even him. She leaned closer to him, her arms wrapping around his neck, and she ran one hand through his thick hair, sending shivers down his spine.
His hand went to the back of her head pressing her more urgently to him, kissing her more passionately then before, enjoying the sweetness of her lips, her tongue and her mouth. He couldn’t help but be intrigued as well as excited by the way she succumbed to his kiss or his touch considering what Mark had told him about her. He also had to admit, it didn’t hurt his self-esteem any either. He broke the kiss finally, not really wishing to, but not wanting to move too fast with her either.
‘Maybe I just wanted to spend some time alone with you, Jesse. ‘ He said softly, and gently ran his fingers across her face. He watched as her eyes soften, yet he saw a questioning hesitance in them. He wondered what her thoughts were, whether she was unsure of him or actually of herself. ‘ I also wanted to take a quick shower, since the lady wasn’t into swimming.’
‘I love to swim. ‘ She said softly, her eyes never straying from his.
‘I’m sure you do. ‘ He smiled, brushing her face again with his hand. He wasn’t sure what it was exactly, maybe his instincts, but she was the first woman after many years that he didn’t want to immediately take to bed. ‘ Why don’t I go take a quick shower? It will only take a few minutes and then we can go back to your house if that is what you want.’
‘Okay, unless you wanted some company in there? ‘ Jesse teased.
‘That is entirely up to you darlin. ‘ He laughed and kissed her quickly, knowing full well she wasn’t about to join him.
He went upstairs to shower and afterwards, he put on a clean pair of cut-offs. When he came back downstairs, he saw Jesse curled up on his couch fast asleep. He shook his head smiling. He covered her with the blanket and then sat at the end of the couch and turned on the television. He had fallen asleep after awhile, and it wasn’t long before he heard a soft cry. Jesse was sitting up and he got the impression she wasn’t quite awake yet or didn’t know where she was.
‘Jesse, it’s okay, you just fell asleep. ‘ He said, now holding her. She whispered for him not to leave, and he held her, until she relaxed and laying her head in his lap, fell back asleep.
In the morning, he awoke alone. He heard voices coming from downstairs, and Jesse was no longer on the couch. When he got to the basement he saw that Mark and several other men and women were all playing pool.
‘Hey man, way to go! ‘ Mark said. ‘ I guess you finally found out what Jesse wanted after all.’
‘Yeah, right. ‘ He answered, and although he was angered by Mark’s insinuation, he felt it was useless to do anything about it at this point.
‘Good for you! Jesse said to come over whenever you want. She left a couple hours ago. Said something about helping clean up.’
‘Thanks Mark! You might want to get some sleep yourself. It might help sober you up.’
‘Why would I want to sober up? Hey, they’re serving breakfast over there. It’s pretty good, you might want to go eat.’
He was hungry, so he put on a t-shirt and shoes and went across the street.
