I began piano lessons when I was six years old. It started when my mother met a new friend who was a piano teacher and thought that her son could use some exposure to culture and refinement. Well, I actually loved it. The music, after all, she taught the classical piano repertoire, was new to my ears and much of it quite lush and beautiful, so melodic.
