Suddenly, your thoughts are interrupted by a voice from nowhere and everywhere.
"That is exactly what this is; 'What if'."
"W-what do you mean?" The idea of talking to some disembodied voice does not, strangely enough, bother you nearly as much as the voice itself.
"Simply put, this is the thought space. This is where thoughts become reality. Whatever you think here can and will become your new reality. However, you can not simply create reality the way you want it. There are certain...rules that must be followed."
"What kind of rules exactly?"
"To be honest, there is but one rule."
"And that would be?"
"Simply put, you must accept whatever condition that is set forth in order to enter your new reality."
"What do you mean?"
"For example, if I were to say to you 'What if you could walk on your hands instead of your feet but you must only change your socks once a week.', would you agree to that?"
"Probably not since I have no desire to walk on my hands instead of my feet."
"Well that is the type of agreement you must accept in order to enter whatever reality you choose to create."
"So if I refuse the strange condition, I will remain here?"
"For the time being. However, you are free to imagine whatever you so desire. Just remember that if you should desire to leave this place you must agree to whatever condition I impose upon that new reality before you may enter it."
"You are starting to repeat yourself. I get it. I can't leave here unless I agree to your stupid condition on the reality I imagine up in this place."
"Correct."
"Fine."
"Good. Now if you would be so kind as to step up to the computer. You may begin to input your reality for the sake of clarity."
"I thought you said that this space would create whatever I imagined."
"It will, but I like to keep a record of what people imagine. It is sort of my hobby."
"If you say so." You are dubious about this so-called thought space, but you step up to the computer anyway. As you approach the computer, the space around you almost seems to shimmer as it begins to transform into whatever you imagine.
You hear the voice ask one final question before fading away.
