Direct comments and email to [email protected] Preface This story has been surfacing and resurfacing in my mind for the best part of the year 2000. It started with my annoyance of cell phones. Not so much about the phones themselves but peoples dependence on them and the constant need to be connected, coupled with the inferiority of the technology. My home so it seems is in a black hole as far as cell service. To use a cell phone you need to go out and stand in the middle of the highway out front. I definately am not connected. Pagers won't work and neither will the local ham radio repeater as all use the same location. It also is the local public television site and the picture from the station is not watchable and the site is less than 10 miles away. There is another site on the highest mountain east of the Mississippi river and it has pagers, cell, commercial TV and radio stations as well as ham radio repeaters. The ham radio can be used with 10 watts or more and the FM radio stations can be listened to but the TV, pagers and cell are still no go. Internet access is only thru a local ISP with at best 56K connection. No big ISP providers and no cable or DSL access. It is with this in mind that I write this one. It is not a transformation story as such but you should read it with an open mind. Perhaps being changed into a girl(or boy) is not so bad after all. * * * * * * * My name is unimportant, to the world I am just criminal 47564218. But so you know my name is Kevin Martin. I am more or less on the run. The whole thing started so innocently, but I need to start at the very beginning. My family like so many fell into the trap so easily. All of us had pagers, and my parents had cell phones. I never like invasive technology that I could not shut off. I often left my pager at home on my dresser. My younger siblings craved to have cell phones of their own and to be connected. I was oldest at 19. When cell became cheap enough to dump the home phone and go all cell. At Christmas we all got cell phones. Mine was a tiny folding model that was made to look like an old style Star Trek communicator from the old 1960's series. I liked it a lot but of all the models it was most primative with the fewest features. It was not even digital so you got all the problems of analog with it. It however did just what I needed and it had the all important 'off' switch. It was off most of the time. I still had the pager because I insisted on not having the phone active all the time. It was a constant point of contention between myself and my connected family. My internet experience was thru a cable modem on the basic cable hookup we kept just for local channel access. We had sattelite TV. I used one of my dad's hand me down laptops. My internet ISP was a local one that did not force me to look at mail everytime I signed on. I had to force a mail download to get my mail. I never did chat rooms and I had very little regular mail so I could go a week and have little or no mail. I was happy with my high tech which all my friends called dinosaur tech. When internet phones came in my family all upgraded to them and ditched the pagers and laptops and all. My world got a little messed up when they pulled my cable system hookup and forced me to go to a laptop with cell connection. I had to go with one of the major ISPs with the automatic mail downloads, but figured out how to avoid that. I set up email somewhere else and had my mail routed there and only read it when I wanted. No more pop up mail boxes. Next came the tiny wearable computer with verbal interface with phone, pager, messaging, and internet all in one. I was the only one in my family who did not go this way. That breakthrough took the world by storm. One year later the next thing to come out was TV in sort of a blending of TiVo and WebTV and sattelite TV all rolled into one intergrated into the already feature loaded computer/phone device. My family followed and over the next year the only added feature was the adding of GPS to every unit plus improvements to every feature the units had. The units began to be called. World communications devices or WCD for short. I was pressured by everyone around me to get connected. Still I resisted. I told everyone I thought the WCDs were nothing but BORG technology and they were all being assimilated. No one wanted to hear that. That actually increased the pressure on me. I mused they might have seen the danger but wanted me at the same risk they were at. When the next upgrade came I was glad I was 18 and had to actually do it myself. Parents could force minor children to take the implant. The improvement was a mind link interface which eliminated the verbal input and output screen. Everything went directly to the brain. Everything was done with thought and made things faster, much faster. The computer was still outside the body and they soon had interfaces to control all kinds of things. A house wife could soon control every device in the house thru the interface. The smart robot technology was given up when experiments showed the human mind could do it better by simply controlling a device remotely. Some people could actually control a dozen devices at one time as multitasking better than any computer ever could. At the same time medical science saw new possible uses in administering drugs to patients and monitoring patients through the new interface. At the same time the entertainment industry had come up with total mind emergence games where the entire world could simulated in the mind without holographic technology or other inferior techniques. Things became realistic enough that one could feel pain or moveement or any other number of sensations. By refusing the implant I was locked out of all of this 'wonderful' stuff. In just months the entertainment industry added the medical part enabling drugs good and bad to be introduced to the body in a game or any way one desired. Pain killers, insulin, tranquilizers, hormones, anything. Very quickly most people embraced this by having the interfaces programmed to dispense all normal drugs automatically and refills were given once a month or as required by the patients. Any program changes could be done during the refill process. There were already problems with all this. The drug subculture had found ways to hack into a persons interface and obtain new customers. The governemnt unknown to the public began to experiment on their own. Most things were mild and unnoticed, but My family was a whole different story. My younger siblings were all heavily into games and would spend days in space adventures or other simulations. The interfaces were used to create physical sensations and more? I noticed the changes first and started asking questions. The first thing I noticed was in my 12 year old brother, Bill. He began to develop breasts and his shape was becoming more feminine. When I asked he did not recognize the change but admitted he was active in a simulation using a female character and admitted the game was filled with new sensations and experiences. I began to get very concerned when I saw him nude only a month later and except for the genitals he looked totally female. I told my parents but they seemed unconcerned. In the next month my brother became 100% female with female genitals and all. When I confronted him, he said he had always been a girl. Then I found out all the boys in the family had been changed as well and even my dad, and all claimed they had always been girls. I left home at this point and took a place of my own. I left every high tech device behind when I left. Within a month the governemnt mandated everyperson in the country must have the interface installed and those who could not afford it would get it free of charge. The day after the announcement I took all the cash money I could find and headed out. I was leaving the US. I headed north towards Canada and hoped I could evade capture. I did not carry any form of ID as most now had some kind of chip in them. That was 2 months ago and I was just getting to the northern US but I had been traveling on foot to evade any kind of scan or detection. Little did I know how far the governemnt had gone with all their systems. I found out when I observed a fellow runner cross the border into Canada only to be struck by a ray from a defense system almost the instant he crossed. I observed animals cross with no problem and could see the telltale bump of a tracking module on each. An animal without a tracking module, like a human was killed as soon as it crossed the border. I watched the boarder for a long time and finally figured out what to do. I set up a trap in the forest to capture an animal like a deer or something large enough to be scanned for size. I did not want a dead animal as I needed to remove a working module from a live animal. I managed that easy enough and easily removed the module. By a stroke of luck the module I got was a canadian module with battery power. It was better than the US kind as the US ones derived the power from the host body. I had the device I needed and made my way to the border as quickly as I could. In the cover of the night I crossed over and I was not killed. I must have been seen as a Canadian deer crossing back into Canada. I continued to avoid contact with civilization. I had a radio that had solar power and used it only a little time each day and usually with head phones. After a week in canada I dumped the tracking module while still close to some city. I had a backpack and a duffel with all I owned in it. I had maps and a compass. My goal was an isolated area of northern Canada. I had one good survival book that had served me well. I had learned to hunt and to do everything I needed to get by without the outside world. In my 4th month I saw others who seemed to be on the run as well. I avoided all I saw till I heard a woman scream one day. I came to where she was and observed she had been caught in a snare type of trap and was suspended upside down in the air. I came out and looked up at her. She was furious and yelled at me."Get me down out of here." I walked around her. I smiled and said. "Not so fast. Before I do any such thing I need to know a little more about what I am getting into." "If you don't get me down I'll kill you." She said. I ignored her banter. "Real smart dear, you got caught in a deer trap. You don't look like a deer to me and you don't sound like Canadian to me either." "You sound like New England to me, I'm upper New York state myself." She said. "Maine coast, now you a real girl or one of their conversions." I said. Conversions, I don't know what you are talking about." she said. "How long have you been here." I said. "I was working in Alaska six months ago and things just went nuts. I saw some pretty strange stuff before the new rules. I was out of Alaska before the rules came in. I don't have any technology with me and no implants." She said. I was working to free her without destroying the trap. I released her and reset the trap and we moved away from it. I noted she had a pack and duffel as well. We did not talk much till later in the day. I attended to our food needs and as we sat around a small fire and ate I said. "You got a name, I'm Kevin Martin." "I'm Linda, My last name does not translate to english very well. I'm native american." She said. "Where are you going and why are you traveling alone." I asked. "I am going to a native american stronghold in Northern Canada where the world governemnt at least leaves my people alone. You can't go there unless you got indian blood in you unless you are married to an indian." She said. "There is indian blood in my family a couple of generations back." I said. "They can detect it with a machine so you can't fool it. If you are not you'd be turned over to the governemnt." She said. I smiled, "I'll be OK, How far is it." "Only a few days. There is only one way in and it is well guarded. That is if my info is correct." She said. "Do you want to travel with me." I asked. "I have been hoping to find someone for months, I'm looking for a possible mate as well as I was told there are few single males there." She said. "Dam sex change conversions." I said. "I have seen a lot of really ugly women so you better tell me about that." She said. I frowned and said. "It's real bizarre, those with full implants are being given female hormones and drugs to make them female. My father and my two younger brothers were fully changed and never realized there was any change at all. My dad even claimed he had been a girl all his life. My dad was one of the uglies." She looked shocked and said. "That means any full blood male is like gold. That clears up a lot of what I have seen and heard. It means I need to consider you for a mate more than ever. How old are you." "I'm 19 and it's been since the new rules that I have been on my own. I left the states a couple of weeks after the new rules came in. The crossing into Canada was the worst part." I said. "Explain, I don't understand that." She said. "Anything crossing from the US into Canada has to have a tracking device. A human without a device is killed seconds after crossing. The space system detects all life forms crossing and if a form has no device it does not show in the GPS and is destroyed. The system is not real fussy, and any module will work. I caught a deer and removed it's module and crossed using a deer module and dumped it a while later. It's at the bottom of a lake in southern Canada. I watched the border for a week before making the attempt." I said. "That answers why there are so few getting across. They give the destroyed totals every week on the world news." She said. "It is my badge of courage crossing that border." I said. "I hope you do not take this wrong, but if I am to consider you as a possible mate, I must ask you to undress and show me you are all man. I've seen some who look and act male and still have female genitals. I would suggest real aggressive females are sometimes changed to male, or almost male." She said. "I will require the same of you." I said. We both began to strip and we watched each other as we did. She looked full female and I looked full male. She came close and said. "Now touch my breast but this ain't for sex, I just want to make sure you have a normal response." I laughed as I looked down at my already stiff member. I went over and touched one of her breasts and her nipples stood very erect. She began to rub against me and she touched me. Then we both backed away. I said."Enough at least we do respond to each other." She licked her lips. "I like what I see." We both got dressed and sat back down. We got close together and she said."Can we sleep against each other. I think we could both use the physical contact." I smiled."Yes I guess we do." We were soon asleep with my old blanket over us. In the morning I gave her some fruit I still carried from days before. We continued to move north. It took two days to reach where she had been told there was a stronghold. We found nothing visible as we made camp for the day. After eating we bundled up for a good nights sleep. We cuddled up together like we had every night since we met. when we woke we both had quite a shock. We were together in a bed in a room made of carved out stone. There was a steel door and it was locked. As she woke and opened her eyes she squinted. I said. "Surprise." "Where are we." She asked. "No idea, the door is locked." I said. Our packs were here and it was obvious they had both been searched. I did a quick inventory and everything was there. She found the same. I had a feeling by that we were probably safe. At last we heard a key in the lock of the door and it opened. A young man looked in and said. "Grab your gear and come with me." We did and he took us down a very long hall. At last we came to a reception area. We put our gear on a cart. The man at the desk said. "Please do not ask any questions here. I must verify you both before you can be taken inside. To wake up in one of the outer rooms means you have passed the initial screening. Your packs were searched for forbiden items and for old ID's. Your bodies have been scanned as well." he paused. He said. "I will deal with the female first. Ms give me a full traceable name and either a Canadian or US ID. Our system does not tie into the world system but we have all the data from the last day before the new world governemnt came in." She gave the ID stuff and he punched in the data and a file came up and it had a picture. I could hear everything. He asked her if she was single or married. She said married and indicated me as the husband. Then it was my turn. I gave my data and my picture came up with a criminal tagging and file. He read the file and said. "You committed no actual crime except for not taking the implant. 90 days after the New world governemnt was official, any person not showing up on the global GPS were tagged criminal. You are safe here." He looked at the other and said."Take them inside. Have them scanned for any health problems and assign them a family space." That was it. We passed a series of thick steel doors and entered a complex. It was pretty modern. We were taken to a medical facility and scanned and at last released and were taken to a living area of the complex. We were assigned a complex of rooms and were given keys and shown a few things we should know. Then we were left and almost as soon as the door closed I said. "Why did you say we were married?" "I was not taking any chances on losing you, and I could have saved your life. You don't look like you are suffering over it very much." She said. "You still should have asked me first." I complained. "Don't take it too bad, you get me in bed tonight if you want me." She said. "This is rather soon." I said. She came over and said."Besides I am as horny as hell and I know you are responding to me. You get hard just from touching me when we cuddle up." I sighed as I was clearly losing this arguement. I just took her in my arms and said. "If you insist, who am I to fight you when you throw yourself upon me like this. That alone excites me." We held each other and kissed for several minutes and then came back to reality. We had very little in our rooms to start with. We had a few books and a little info. We laid down on the bed to scan the guidebook and spent several hours reading. At last we went to the cafeteria and got a lite lunch. Next we went and selected furnishings for our living space and had to make a number of choices. We agreed on most of the stuff. The only thing we disagreed on was the computer and access. She wanted full internet and I wanted just local info. I had a discussion with the computer people who told me even in the internet we could not be traced. Our tie in server was well over 1000 miles away and every account that was set up was encoded in such a way that our names and password were never seen on the net. Only a secure path could be found with no trail. I accepted full access that way. We were given some warnings on dos and don'ts. Most I already knew. The guidebook said we needed to provide some kind of useful service to at least look like we were working for our room and board. We had a little time on that. We began to look at possible jobs and a future. We looked in the computer for local info and details about the complex and what jobs were available. We were both surprised at the range of jobs and what was most needed. We found we had a lot to choose from. We also found we could do things like cook and eat in our rooms complex or dine in the cafeteria. For a few days we would eat in the cafeteria. We did get some things to celebrate our safety and our marriage. After a very relaxing evening we went to the bedroom and had one great session of intense lovemaking. We both needed to learn but as a first time it was great. We slept very well that night. Next day we went to talk to the jobs people and try to work something out. We gave our various skills and abilities and worked through a long job list. One thing they did with jobs was to try and have a husband and wife working the same shift so as not to disrupt our lives. Inspite of my refusal to become connected like my family did, I was a technical person and my skills were very much needed. So much needed they chose to put Linda in a lite work situation but our pay rate was high in total and would allow us better quarters within several months. The lite work for her was also designed so she could stay home later and attend to children and we were encouraged not to delay having children. My job would start the next day and hers in a few days. We returned to our quarters and she looked at me and said. "How do you feel about raising a family?" I smiled. "I like children and it is just fine with me if you agree." I said 'Good, That is a major want for me. A house is not a home without little ones." She said. I took her in my arms and said. "We are in agreement then and I will give you children." THE END Other authors may wish to write other stories in this universe and I can see gobs of story lines myself. I may add to this story or do others in this universe myself. For the sake of putting a name on the universe I am suggestion 'Future Tech' as a name. If you have a better idea let me know. Orphan 2

Orphan 2 By Susan Brown Mandy lived in a semi on the nice side of the town and the garden looked pretty and well looked after. As I walked up the path I remembered the garden at my house. I had helped my mum and dad in the garden, it was fun. I loved getting all mucky and everything. We had a nice house; it was detached and had a lovely back garden. I sighed as I walked up the path. Mandy had a key in her hand and she opened the front door with it. I followed her in and...

Orphan 3

Orphan Chapter 3 I looked up at the sign "Lavenham Girls Care Home" and shuddered slightly. The cool breeze was lifting up the hem of my dress a bit and what with trying to hold my Biggles book in one hand and my teddy in the other, I was having a hard time of it. I transferred Teddy to my other arm and manfully or should I say girlfully tried to hold my hem down as we walked up the steps. I felt so strange; my hair was getting in my eyes and I didn't have a free hand to...

Incredible ChangesChapter 187 This is the Technology

“You will want to answer that.” What the fuck? Is this some AI controlled mind game after all? “Where the hell did you take Paula? No one knows anything. All I was able to find out is that they poured her body onto a stretcher and then she vanished in a type of helicopter no one had seen before. It never showed up on radar,” Steve yelled frantically into the phone. Where did I get such a commanding voice? I’m sure I could make Mother Superior do what she I told her. I relayed what I saw...

New Technology

New Technology By JRD Martin signed for the package, wondering what it was. It had come from Chip, one of his friends that he had met on the Internet. They had met in the tech chat room with a common interest in computer programming. About a week after that, while Martin was in the #TVSex chat room, he had recognized that one, "Mistress_Kate" had the same IP number as Chip. He took a chance and revealed himself and they got to talking. It turns out they had similar fantasies in...

Soul Mates Part 1 The beauties of modern technology

Joe was a sex god, long, black hair that reaches his shoulders, which I just yearn to run my hands through as I kiss him passionately. He has the most beautiful bright blue eyes, which look almost unnatural. His slight chubbiness just makes my body lust for him more, wanting him to hug and hold me and kiss me, make me feel safe in his arms. MSN pinged and my attention was brought back to the real world (in my mind I was slowly undressing Joe). Ah, Joe had just signed in. It was four...

Lady Sally Blackrook Victorian Adventress 2 Tormenting Technology

Lady Sally Blackrook, Victorian Adventuress By Gincrack  ([email protected]) Tormenting Technology! Lady Sally Blackrook looked down at the sabre tip pressing firmly against the front of her bodice.  It had been a short fight and from the beginning she knew that her chances of killing or incapacitating the five armed men were low if not virtually non-existent despite her prowess with a blade. Still several of the men nursed wounds to their arms and faces, her own blade coloured with their...

The Result of Technology

The interesting thing about a story it can begin in a number of ways, some with just a few lines of conversation or in the case of Harry's adventure, a few lines of modern technology. He had recently upgraded his computer and with that he had also to arrange with his supplier to re-establish his e mail communication. It was after the committee meeting of the organization he belonged to that he was asked by a female member if she could send him some reports by e mail as he had told the...

Chapter 4 There wasn't a sound. "Penny, I see you have a smirk on your face, so you can answer me." I looked at the girl who had pink t shirt and matching shorts on. They didn't go with her flaming red hair and freckles, but what did I know? "Sorry Miss." "For what?" "Playing tennis but I was Virginia Wade and Trish was Billy Jean King and I was beating the pants off her and..." "No you wasn't, I had just sliced one past you..." "QUIET!" Both girls became...

So we walked into the dining room. As usual, sickly green walls and slightly sicker dark green floors confronted me. There were about a dozen tables dotted about, formica I think but I couldn't really tell as they were all covered in red plastic check table cloths. Tracy grabbed my arm and led me over to a table in the corner. As we passed the other tables, I was very aware of the stares I was getting. Did everyone know I was a boy? Would they lynch me if they found out? I...

Orphan MagusChapter 2

I followed the Sheriff to an older model Buick. He unlocked the driver door with a key, opened it, and unlocked the rest of the doors from inside. “Get in,” he said. “You said we were going to talk,” I said and glanced at the car. “Where are we going?” He smiled that indulgent smile. “The questions I’m going to ask, can’t be asked out in public like this.” Then he started to climb in but stopped and looked at me. “You know that, right?” I stared at him for a second and then said,...

Orphan MagusChapter 3

I made it back to my car without being accosted by anyone, unless Rho’s non-stop comments on everything from the color of the sky to the way that I walk counts. I unlocked and climbed into my car. She was already in the passenger seat. “You do know how much worse that could have gone, don’t you?” she asked in a sober tone. Her question didn’t bother me as much as her sudden change in personality and clothes. Gone were the skin-tight threads, replaced by an elegant dress and corset. Her hair...

Orphan MagusChapter 4

Chloe and I made it to the highway before we spotted Ricardo in a black SUV. Between the two of us, my car was completely shielded from damage or from being knocked over directly, but that didn’t stop Ricardo from trying to stop us by using the other cars on the highway. At one point, we got lucky when one of his own spells backfired and he was stuck in a pileup while we drove on. For a moment, I felt relieved. True, others had tried to kill me, but not with Magic. On top of that, I had no...

Orphan MagusChapter 5

The only person in the den was a man with graying hair, a clean-shaven face, and a suit that probably cost more than I would make in a year. He sat behind a desk that was made of dark wood, which was polished to a high sheen. The rest of the furnishings looked just as extravagant, just as expensive. Part of me knew this all belonged to my deceased biological mother, but another part hoped the first part was wrong. I didn’t want things this expensive. I just wanted answers to a few personal...

Orphan MagusChapter 6

I was glad I didn’t rush through the mirror. I stopped after passing through and stood at the top of a staircase. Light came from below. For the most part, it looked perfectly welcoming, unlike the basements I saw in numerous movies. I looked behind me, but only saw a mirror. I had to assume that this mirror worked the same as the one in the Den. Part of me wanted to touch it, just to see if my hand would pass through it, but I held off on the compulsion. I focused on the stairs and...

Hayden’s Rho sat where I had left her. She stood up. “Did everything go well?” I nodded and held up the key. “Is this the key to the Locket I was supposed to receive?” She looked at it and nodded. “Yes. You should put it on now, so you won’t lose it. You must keep it safe and out of sight at all times.” I nodded and slipped the chain over my head. “By the way, you should have mentioned something about exiting the Vault before I left. For a second, I panicked.” Her expression seemed...

Orphan MagusChapter 8

I wasn’t sure what I expected when I left the den. Maybe Mr. Van Dusen would be waiting for me. Maybe Ms. Kulick would be. The foyer, however, was empty. I needed to go to Newton Grove, but I didn’t have a car. I looked at Rho, who met my eyes with something akin to sexual devotion in hers. I could feel her hand in mine, warm and soft. It was different from before, but I couldn’t put my finger on what that difference was. All I knew was that I liked it. I knew, standing there gazing into her...

Orphan MagusChapter 9

The shower wasn’t a simple one-person stall. The size of all the other rooms should have clued me in. The running theme on size exceeded anything I needed. Obviously, the design and layout of the Manor intended more people to live here than a single college student and a handful of servants. The size of the bedroom alone suggested orgies rather than the comfortable cuddling of a couple. The sitting room could host a dinner party that would have felt crowded in my old apartment. It was the...

Orphan MagusChapter 10

Ms. Kulick and I cleaned each other up one more time, and though I felt like I could go another round, she didn’t. I was okay with that. In fact, I felt sated. I had never felt that way before, as if I had been dying of thirst and sex quenched me. It was a weird feeling. Yet, I recalled what Rho said about the Manor being the home to my family of Magi for almost two-hundred years. I had cast a number of spells on my apartment. Several of those spells had to do with sex, such as self-cleaning...

Orphan MagusChapter 11

The only light on, other than in the foyer, was in the kitchen. I followed that, along with the smell of freshly brewed coffee. I didn’t drink coffee all the time. To me, coffee started the day, but my parents and many of their friends enjoyed coffee anytime they found an excuse. To be honest, if Mom offered me coffee, it meant she saw me as a grown up. If she didn’t, then it could mean she wouldn’t believe anything I had to say, which would make my efforts all the more difficult. I no more...

Orphan MagusChapter 12

I didn’t sleep as well as I had hoped. It may have been the fact that I was alone, or in a twin sized bed. I could have been the nightmares that kept waking me up. All I knew was I was ready to get up when my alarm went off. I didn’t have a towel or a change of clothes, but I was accustomed to starting the day with a shower. Consequently, I gathered my clothes and headed down the hall to the bathroom. I stopped next to the bathroom door. Alyssa always beat me to the bathroom in the...

Orphan MagusChapter 13

Alyssa drove a 2007 Nissan Sentra. She kept it very clean, but it lacked that new car smell. When we left the house, I thought we might head north to Smithfield and Carolina Premium Outlets. Instead, she turned south and took us into town. I wasn’t completely against the idea. We would be close to the Sheriff’s office this way. What bothered me more was that we passed Dollar General. It wasn’t the best place for clothes, but it was better than some other shops I knew. We also passed Family...

Orphan MagusChapter 14

After taking Alyssa to the house and dropping her off, I went back into town. I knew the parade started later today, and the police and fire departments would block off several roads for that, but the lights, sirens, and rush of several fire trucks told me there was an emergency rather than preparations for a celebration. I didn’t intentionally follow the fire trucks. The fire station sits on the same street as the Sheriff’s office. They’re about a block apart and on the opposite sides of...

Orphan MagusChapter 15

A faint sprinkle of magic? Where did that come from? It wasn’t strong enough to outright force me to do anything, but I was definitely the target and it attempted to influence me to do what Anna said. I had enough power to resist, which I did, but I couldn’t tell from whom the spell originated. Unless someone cast the spell from far, far away, someone in this room was using. I looked at Rawlings, who seemed to want to avoid the current situation. I didn’t want to believe for a second that...

Orphan MagusChapter 16

The world spun around me, but gravity only works one way, and it pulled me low. For what seemed like a few minutes, I laid on the asphalt relearning to see straight and clear away the stars. I rolled over onto my back, noted someone standing over me, and asked, “What hit me?” “I did, mother fucker!” someone yelled at me. The voice was familiar. “And if you know what’s good for you, you’ll stay down.” Considering I didn’t think I could stand on my own anyway, I nodded. “Staying right here,”...

Orphan MagusChapter 17

I don’t know how long I sat in that room, in handcuffs, on a metal chair. I would have been more comfortable sitting on the hard, tiled floor without the handcuffs. No one checked on me. No one brought me my phone and charger. No one came in to ask questions. I started to believe that everyone had forgotten about me. My stomach grumbled. I was hungry. Even after that huge breakfast this morning. Either my metabolism had gone way up since they arrested me, or it had been several hours. My...

I finished the sandwich without really tasting it. My stomach was happy, but I wasn’t. Sergeant Rawlings came in a moment later and handed me a folder similar to the one he showed me that morning. From the weight of it, it had all of the same photos and information as the original. I nodded in thanks, and he waved me out of the room. Jenkins stood nearby. He watched as Rawlings led me to the rear exit of the building. I stopped before leaving. “Jenkins handcuffed me while I was on my phone...

Orphan MagusChapter 19

The drive to the closest Christmas tree place took about twenty minutes. Northlake Christmas Trees & Nursery didn’t look very busy, but then, how many people would be out in a snowstorm trying to find a Christmas tree? I eased through the entrance. Snow and mud splashed up onto the windshield. I had the heater directed up through the vents on the dashboard at full blast to keep the windshield from freezing over. The snow melted right off, but the mud was a different story. I had to use...

Orphan MagusChapter 20

Between the heavy fall of snow, the thick layers of snow on the roads, and the scratching sounds of the tree on the roof of the car, it took me more than twice the time to get home as it did to get to the nursery. When I pulled in and parked behind Mom’s SUV, I finally let myself breathe a sigh of relief. It wasn’t really the drive that had made me nervous, but the combination of running into Lisa Hartwell at the nursery, and then Nigel Sparks who wanted to run his fist into me. I thought for...

Orphan MagusChapter 21

I waited until my anger cooled enough that I wouldn’t get both of us into trouble by starting an argument that would need explaining. I climbed out of the tub, dried off, and then wondered what I would wear. The clothes I wore today were all soaking wet. Even my underwear. My ONLY pair of underwear. I leaned against the sink with my head low. I was stretched too far in too many directions to do what I really needed to do. Yes, I got the police report, but only at the cost of not returning to...

Orphan MagusChapter 22

After putting away the clothes, Mom headed back downstairs and I decided to change into a sweater to go with the pajama pants rather than stay in the robe. I went down after that. In the living room, Alyssa hung another ornament and then clapped. “Other than the top, we’re done with the tree.” Alyssa and Mom turned as one to look at me. Well, I did pick an eight-foot tree, and I was the tallest. Therefore, it would be up to me to place the topper. I went to the utility room, found the...

Orphan MagusChapter 23

“Seth? Baby? C’mon. Let’s get you up to bed.” I looked up at my Mom. She stood over me, shaking my shoulder. I didn’t see Alyssa anywhere. “Is the movie over?” “Yeah, baby,” she said as I sat up. “Do you need some help?” I blinked my eyes and looked around. She had already cleared away the drinks and food. I shook my head and stood up. I didn’t feel as dizzy as earlier. I turned and shuffled toward the stairs. I made it to the top of the stairs and looked down into the living room from...

Orphan MagusChapter 24

What few dreams I remembered were plagued with keys and lockets and spells going awry. Alyssa woke me up a couple of times, not because I was tossing and turning, but to enjoy another round of deep-seeded orgasms. The dreams, however, bothered me. They bothered me a lot. Someone knocked on my door. Then I heard, “Get up sleepy head. You can’t sleep all day.” I recognized that voice. Yeah, it was Mom. I froze. I remembered every detail from the night before, with the exception of the end...

Orphan MagusChapter 25

True to Mom’s word, though the garage was attached to the house, the central heat did nothing for the garage. It was cold. Fortunately, the wind remained outside. I shivered in my flannel shirt and tucked my hands under my armpits to keep them warm. I flicked on the lights in the garage and looked around. Half of the garage held tables, tools, stored items, so on and so forth. The other half was clear so that a vehicle could park inside. Why didn’t Mom use it? I looked up at the garage door...

Orphan MagusChapter 26

Kelly gave me a push, so I rolled off her. She rolled off the bed, and walked over to one of the padded walls. She pulled on something and the padding opened like a door. She smiled at me, pointed into the doorway, and said, “We have a half-bath in here.” Then she stepped inside. A light flicked on and I heard running water. The light flicked off, and she came out with a wet washcloth and a towel. She walked over to the bed, wearing only her sweater, pulled up over her breasts. She tossed...

Orphan MagusChapter 27

Without any preamble, Alyssa walked into the house and stopped in the breakfast nook where Mom sat at the table with her lunch and a glass of wine. She set the box on the table and said, “Mom, you and I have to talk.” “Alyssa, slow down,” I said, catching her elbow. Touching her would distract her, thanks to our bond, but she jerked away from me. “No, I want answers.” Mom, as calm as ever, set her sandwich down. She took a quick sip of wine, set the glass down again, and looked at Alyssa....

Orphan MagusChapter 28

After clearing up the ice in the garage, and closing the carport doors, I went back into the house to get warm. Alyssa and Kelly were gone. I quietly moved further into the house, listening. Laughter came from the master bedroom. Laughter? Either someone found some laughing gas, or Kelly and Alyssa were getting along. I seriously doubted the gas, so I accepted the tranquil sounds and turned back to the door leading up to the playroom. I wanted to do a thorough search up there while I had...

Orphan MagusChapter 29

Sheila lay in front of me, with her legs spread wide and expectation etched into her face. I should have known better than to talk to her at all. I should have refused this, but I ran with it. I didn’t see any other options. I didn’t know any way to make it work in my favor. So, I was stuck. I made a magical agreement with her and I had to fulfill my part of that bargain. I had to make her cum. There was only one thing that might help me, and to use it, I had to touch her. I could glean her...

I watched Sheila walk off toward a dark blue Mazda. She climbed in, started the car, and left. She was lucky she found me after we arrived. I had to be more careful. If anyone else found me, if anyone got lucky, then my luck would run out. I didn’t need the Sheriff finding out that I was in the city limits again after I had agreed to stay out. It made me nervous. I looked toward the store and spotted Alyssa and Kelly with two carts full of food. Either the house was almost bare or they went...

Orphan MagusChapter 31

I heard a knock at the door, a loud one. It wasn’t to the bedroom door. Maybe the front door of the house. I remembered both where I was and what I had been doing all night. I sat bolt upright, with only a comforter covering my naked body. I looked around, ready to wake up my Kelly and Alyssa, but found that I was alone. The body I thought I was curled up with was actually a full-body pillow. While warm, soft, and comfortable, it wasn’t the same as a real body – especially a woman’s body....

The three of use left that little room. Jenkins was nowhere to be seen. Maybe he went back to the front desk. I didn’t know and was simply thankful I didn’t have to worry about him for the moment. The Sergeant led our short procession to the back of the station, followed by Mr. Van Dusen, and then myself. As we walked, I focused on the Sergeant. Anna put a geas on him once. I didn’t want her to do it again. By the time we reached the Sergeant’s office, I had the spell in mind. It wasn’t...

Orphan MagusChapter 33

We arrived at the Motel 6 in Emporia shortly before noon. The buildings looked their age, especially with all the snow. There were several strings of Christmas lights along the lower edges of the upper levels, as well as lining the windows to the front office, and a Christmas tree stood next to one of the windows in the office too. The Motel looked relatively empty, but then for all I knew, they were normally always slow this time of year. It wasn’t as if Emporia was known around the Nation...

Orphan MagusChapter 34

The officers drove me further into town to talk to a medical examiner. I couldn’t say how long it took us to get there, since I wasn’t exactly in my headspace during the ride. Rho remained by my side, though the officers didn’t realize it. She even dressed down for the depressing possibility of what I had to face. She wore a simple black dress that covered her to her knees yet hugged her as if it belonged to her little sister. She also had on a wide-brimmed black hat, black stockings, and...

The drive home was quiet. Rho stayed with me most of the way. I asked her more questions about how to find the locket, but she couldn’t think of anything. I also asked about how to tell my family about Dad. Again, she was no help. She finally decided that she wasn’t needed and disappeared. I knew I could call her back, if for no other reason than for some company, but she wasn’t the kind of company I needed, so I drove the last half an hour alone. I pulled into the driveway only to find two...

Orphan MagusChapter 36

I stood in the foyer, shivering from cold, and holding a woman to whom I never thought I would get this close. She shivered too. We had been outside, and fallen in a heap in the snow. For the most part, my jeans and dad’s old work jacket saved me from getting soaked, but Olive hadn’t been as fortunate. She had a long, fur-lined coat, which was heavy and could keep a snowman warm, but it couldn’t work as well while unbuttoned and open, as it currently was. She wanted to show me what she wore...

I stood at the open doorway to the master bath. Leaning against the wall next to the doorway, I couldn’t see the tub. “You wanted to talk, Olive?” I called. “I would rather talk face to face,” she said. I couldn’t hear any movement, which either meant she was neck deep in the water, as I had been when I had to warm up, or the tub was empty and she was doing something I couldn’t hear. I could easily imagine what she was doing. I had seen enough of her in the car to know what she looked like...

Olive’s eyes watched my face as she knelt to take off my shoes and socks. She observed my reactions as she unfastened my pants and pulled them off. She kept her eyes on mine as she gently drew down my underwear. She couldn’t help herself when my erection sprang out and slapped the side of her face, however. She grabbed it, realized what she held, glanced up at my face, and then openly gawked at it. I thought I heard something in the bedroom. I looked that way and focused on listening, but I...

I knew it would simplify things if it appeared I had never been in the tub with Olive, therefore I pulled my clothes back on to sounds of her disapproving sighs. When I was ready, I went to the bedroom to try to find something for her to wear. Lisa stood next to the closet door. Her eyes widened with surprise when she saw me, but before she could say anything, I held up a finger over my lips, indicating she should remain silent. I heard Olive padding her way toward me, as she said, “Does...

Orphan MagusChapter 40

Mom went to open the front door. I stuffed the key into my pocket as I moved into the darkness of the kitchen. I walked over to the doorway closest to the entry and pulled out my phone. I wanted to use the camera feature to look around the doorway and see who was there without letting them see me. “Mrs. Connor, is Seth here?” I recognized the blue hair. It belonged to Stefany from Shirley’s. There were also two brunettes and two blondes. I knew them from school, but I couldn’t recall their...

While Anna and Rawlings discussed what they could and could not do, I wrested myself loose from Lisa and moved around the island to stand by Mom. Lisa refused to let me get too far away and followed me. I leaned toward mom and quietly asked, “Are you wearing any jewelry?” She blinked at me. “Yes, but this isn’t the time...” I shook my head. “What are you wearing?” I wasn’t trying to be coy. Instead, I gave her my most sincere and serious face. She studied my expression and then said, “It’s...

I returned to the living room to find both Lisa and her mother sitting on the couch. Lisa sat closer to the chair, but at least I wouldn’t have to fight off her wondering hands. I sat on the chair with both necklaces in hand. Both of them continued to glow. No one had mentioned the glow so either I was the only one privy to it because I had worn the key for so many days already or because I was a Magus. If the latter reason was the case, then why didn’t Anna react to it? Maybe she either...

Something woke me up. “What was that?” Lisa asked, half-asleep. I shook my head. “I hope it’s not your parents.” “Don’t even joke about that.” We lay there, holding each other and drifting off again when I heard something. The only way to describe it would be a soft explosion. I looked up at my only window. The sun was up but there was another glow too. A flickering, fiery glow that reminded me of the light coming from the fireplace. Then I recalled seeing fire that wasn’t in a...

Two days after the fight with Ricardo, we held the funeral for Wayne Bernard Connors. Lisa’s parents showed up, as did a number of people from town who knew dad. Preacher William Littlewood presided. We even bought dad a coffin even though there was nothing but ashes to bury. Mom insisted. After the funeral, Mom, Alyssa, and I met with Mr. Van Dusen for the reading of the will. Orphans

We were both orphans, her by an act of God, me by an act of parental choice. Her last year of High School was spent with her paternal grandmother after her mom and dad were killed in a tornado. Something in the WaterChapter 7 We Have The Technology

Louise struck lucky with a laboratory at about eleven-thirty that morning. She had said she needed to run some tests on possible reactions between softened water from a particular type of softener and milky coffee of a particular brand. The technician wasn't thrown at all. She asked what sort of reaction we were looking for, and Louise said it might be the sort of reaction which had an effect on human cells in certain parts of the body. The female body. The breasts. Making them grow. Can...
