The Ring Senshi Episode 1: The Beginning

Justin Sobule was a cute little thing, perhaps five foot
and six inches, with a bob of blonde hair and the cutest
blue eyes imaginable. It was this cuteness that drew rumors
that he was emotionally involved with his best friend
Ichizu Madden. But he didn't let such things bother him,
let them think what they want, he would tell himself. Quite
frankly, he had much better things to do. Like getting to
class on time.
DING! DING! DING!
"Goddamn it!" cursed the blonde 14-year-old 9th grader as
he heard the chime of the school-bell. He was going to be
late again.
Dashing through the corridors of the school he found his
classroom and slipped in mostly un-noticed, taking a seat
next to his best friend.
"Where were you for roll-call?" Ichizu asked teasingly, his
feminine features lighting up as he smiled.
"I overslept," replied Justin, only now taking the time to
rub the sleep from his eyes.
"Again?!"
This last question was probably a bit loud, as a booming
voice came from the front of the class.
"What," asked the old teacher. "did Mr. Sobule do again?
Perhaps you'd like to share with the entire class, hmm?"
Though nobody liked Charles Dodd; they liked even less
feeling his wrath.
"No... nothing Sir." stammered Ichizu, sinking back into
his seat. Apparently this reply didn't please the old
grouch at all.
"I asked you a QUESTION young man." He boomed. With a sigh
Justin intervened to save his best friend from a week of
detention.
"Mr. Dodd, Sir, we were just discussing why it is I arrived
to your class late."
"And would you care to enlighten me as to the answer to
this enigma?" the class giggled.
"Well sir," Justin licked his lips and continued. "I was
busy at home this morning revising the chapters from the
text that you had us read last night for homework, you know
just so I didn't miss anything. I guess I lost track of the
time." This invoked a rare smile and the class continued.
When class let out 48 minutes later Ichizu caught up with
Justin at his locker down the hall.
"Brown-nose." he teased and poked out his tongue.
"Least I'm not the one who almost got a weeks detention
with the old fart. So nyah!" Justin blew raspberries and
laughed at his own immaturity. "I've got a free period now,
wanna skip whatever class you got now and pop over to the
mall with me?"
Ichizu nodded eagerly "Sounds like a plan you brown-noser
you."
The pair left the school building laughing and made their
way towards the mall down the road, inciting many a
homosexual remark of which they both had learnt long ago to
ignore.
"Oh wow!" Ichi ran ahead of Justin towards the shop window
of the Electronic Boutique Store. "Final Oxymoron VII! I
can't believe it! Its really out!" he was practically tap-
dancing in front of the window when Justin caught with him.
"Its... a game." Justin noted with his eyebrow raised.
"Not just a game you dork! It's the game of the century! Of
the millennium!" he grabbed Justin's shoulders and shook
them trying to shake some sense into him.
"Fags."
Came a voice from behind. Billy Dickenson: School Bully and
general pain in the ass to everyone whom he deemed uncool
in one-way or another. Billy lived with his sister, for his
parents had passed away when he was 10 years old. He'd
never been the same. Justin casually extended his middle
finger to the larger boy, who at six foot two definitely
towered over him.
"Did you know that all homophobes are homosexual, Billy?"
Justin ducked the swing he knew would come and winced as
the bigger boys hand smashed into the glass shop front
window; smashing it and leaving Billy screaming in anger
and pain as the owner came out to see what was going on.
"Shall we go?" asked Ichizu, smugly.
"We shall." Replied Justin as they walked into the mall
leaving Billy to his fate.
Though he didn't show it remarks like that hurt quite a bit
inside for Justin because they were made to do just that.
Sure, Ichizu was pretty for a boy, he was an inch shorter
than Justin, but he had chocolate colored hair in a long
ponytail which came down to his butt, and facial features
most teenage girls would die for. Big pouty lips, perfect
eyebrows, big fluttery lashes and cute tender brown eyes
that could make anyone melt. But Justin just didn't swing
that way, and he was pretty sure that Ichizu didn't either.
The next 30 minutes were uneventful as far as trips to the
mall go, and as the duo were preparing to leave they met up
with Sarah, Billy's big sister whom was just as much a
bitch as he was a bully.
"Well if it isn't the pretty boy patrol." The 11th grader
sneered at them and held up a piece of card with Japanese
characters on it (Though they could as easily have been
Chinese, for Justin read neither language.)
"Take a hike Saz, we don't want you're crap today." sighed
Ichizu.
"My brother severed an artery you little queers, he could
die because of you!"
"So?" this from Justin.
"Oh my god you two are so dead when he gets out of
hospital." she slipped the card back into her pocket and
walked off laughing, leaving both boys to wonder exactly
WHAT it was and why she'd shown them.
"What was it?" queried Ichizu.
"I'm as clueless as you... well maybe not quite that
clueless but you know what I mean."
Ichizu playfully hit Justin on the arm and stuck out his
tongue.
It was the next day before the duo met up with each other
again at school as both had plans for the previous
afternoon.
"Wonder what happened to Billy..." wondered the pony tailed
boy out-loud. He need not have wondered for his question
was soon answered by Sarah's grief stricken face as she
seemingly appeared from no-where.
"Billy... passed on last night from blood-loss..." she
sobbed. "I hope you're happy you little fucking queers!
He's dead because of you!"
"But we didn't do anything-" began Justin.
"SHUT UP!" yelled the late Bully's sister. "You're gonna
get it you just wait and see. Billy may be dead but he's
not gone!" and with that display she stormed off.
Both boys shrugged at each other and went about their
school activities until a special assembly was called to
mourn the passing of Billy.
"...He will be missed." The Principal concluded.
Somehow both boys knew that he wouldn't. Billy was an
outcast who picked on others for his own amusement. While
no one wished he were dead, deep down inside everyone was
glad he was gone.
That night Justin walked home from his Band practice alone
through the dark streets of the city. It was only 9pm, if
that, but the days were short in winter and so were the
sleeves on his shirt, unfortunately. Glancing down an alley
that could cut 10 minutes off the trip home Justin decided
to take a chance. Bad things only happened in alleyways in
the movies.
"Justin!" a familiar voice yelled accusingly.
"Sarah, what do you wa-" he dropped his words mid-sentence
and stared.
Sarah stood 10ft away from him all glad in black with a
spiky black choker around her neck, her skin a deathly pale
and her eyes devoid of all color except for the deathly
black of he pupils.
"It's time to get revenge you little shit!" she glowered
and held the card with the oriental characters written on
it above her head. She began to chant in what sounded like
Latin mixed with Japanese and seemed to go into a trance.
"What... the hell. Saz? Sarah? We can work this out."
Justin raised a brow at the spectacle when suddenly Sarah's
head snapped level and her eyes locked on him accusingly.
"I can feel him... inside me," she said in a duel-voice and
let out a mad giggle. She continued it as suddenly a stream
of energy flew from her fingers and nailed Justin in the
chest, throwing him back up against the wall of the
alleyway.
"Ngh... uhh..." he groaned as he fell to the ground in a
heap.
"Die you fucking shit!" Sarah yelled as she shocked him
again. And again.
"Please... stop... I didn't... do... anything." He coughed
as wave after wave of demon energy hit his body.
"Use this..." a voice whispered.
"Huuuuh?" he forced his gaze up to where to voice was and
waited for his vision to focus. But he saw nothing except
for a small pink pen lying on the ground. Following the
instructions he reached for it as another wave of energy
hit his body causing him to collapse flat on the ground
with the pen in his hand.
"Amalthea... repeat after me." that voice whispered,
"Amalthea Star Power make-up."
Swearing that he was either delirious or dead Justin
complied, weakly holding the pink pen.
"Amalthea... Star... Power... Makeup." when he finished the
words, two things happened, first there was a bright flash
of light and second he felt his strength returning.
Electricity flowed through his body but this gave him
strength. He felt like an army of ants were crawling all
over his body but it passed as soon as it had begun.
"Justin?" Saz asked confused, a scared look in her eyes.
"Yes?" another instinct took over, a long forgotten memory
"No! I am... Sailor... Amalthea!" he stood weakly "And on
behalf of Jupiter... and its moons... I will... punish...
you!"
His voice shocked him more than his words and as his gaze
drifted down to his blue collar, his white leotard and bow
with a pink heart in the center and finally laid eyes on
his yellow, red and blue skirt, his white gloves and white
knee high boots it finally occurred to him that he wasn't
himself. He was a girl now. She was Sailor Amalthea,
guardian of the Princess of Jupiter.
"Gravi... metric... force!" she yelled at Sarah in her cute
voice, not questing how he knew how to do that and watched
as a black bolt leapt from her own finger and engulfed the
demon-possessed girl in a ball of light before collapsing
on itself and leaving no trace of her at all.
"...what... what is this? Who am I?"
She caught a glimpse of herself in a broken mirror resting
against the dumpster and almost passed out. Her hair was
the same, though it was pulled up into two tiny pigtails at
the topsides of her head, but her face was still very much
the same face as her boyself. And much to her dismay as a
male was that she got short changed in the breast
department and was most definitely flat chested.
"What... is this?" she repeated as she tugged at the skirt
as a black cat leapt up onto the dumpster she was standing
in front of.
"Hello Justin, I do believe we should talk." the cat said
curtly.
Justin promptly fainted.
End of Episode 1
Well that's the end of the first episode, and my first ever
short story. If you guys like it I'll write more, if not
just say so and I'll stop.
