take Henry "downtown" to see life on the other side of the

"That lesbian daughter of mine outed herself" the overwrought
man yelled at the family counselor "No woman can hit a
homerun off me unless she is a dyke! You are aware of course
that all lesbians are big time softball freaks!"
The man glared at a young girl sitting opposite him: she
looked about 15 years old, with short black hair and pale
white skin; she was dressed in baggy black pants, and a tank
top that was filled to bursting. But if looks could kill,
daggers were flying at the man. Next to the young girl sat a
very good looking woman with long black hair who was appeared
to be very unhappy as she listened to her husband's tirade.
"I'm not bigoted, but I cannot understand why my daughter went
'flamboyant' on me and outed herself. I told DeeDee that if
she wants to be a 'lesbo' that's just fine with me, but when
she outed herself at the company picnic, in front of all my
staff, I just won't stand for that." Working up a steam the
man continued. "I'm not going to lose a respect of everybody
who works at Hardwood Industries. I've put my life into this
company that my pappy founded and I will have respect!"
For the first the time the therapist found words to interject.
"Mr. Hardwood are you seriously telling us that your lovely
daughter here is a lesbian because she hit a home run off of
you in a company picnic baseball game?"
Directing his bile toward Hal, the counselor, and slurring
his words with a down-home drawl, Hank said, "You gotta know
that these here lesbians are the best women softball players
in the world and for my 15 year old daughter to take me
downtown, hit off of me. Me! Te best pitcher in Division
AAA of American Legion ball, well I got to tell you I gotta
believe she was making a play for some of the wives of some
of my workers!" The last was nearly screamed by Hank, his
face had become red and distorted and he was breathing heavy.
Hal Donovan the counselor was stunned in the 11 years of
family counseling he had never heard such a crock of horse
manure in his life. He shook his head inwardly in disbelief,
this family was really in trouble and it was going to take
some real work to help them.
Turning back to look at Henry Hardwood Hal asked, "Henry what
if your wife had hit a homerun off of you, would you call
her a lesbian?"
Henry reacted with indignation, "I don't think so, she is the
mother of my children; but I sure would have strong questions
for her."
Hal rolled his eyes and now turned to the little girl who now
had her face down looking at her shoes, he asked with a great
deal of compassion. "DeeDee, are you a lesbian like your dad
says".
With a show of spirit and downright defiance, the pretty teen
answered, "how on Earth would I know what I am, I 'm only 15
and I have friends who are both guys and girls. The only
lesbians around here are ones who exist in my dad's imagination,

Turning to the woman the girl's mother, Hal asked "Janet tell
us your point of view, is your husband right?
For the first time Janet Hardwood spoke, a pretty woman of
about 35 her midnight black hair and clear ivory skin were
beautiful as permanent smile marks on her face gave her an
unforgettable quality. She had a great figure and good
personality and many of her friends had always wondered how
she had ended up with Henry, a good old boy, with some very
strange points of views.
"Well, I love my husband but he is nuts as far as I'm

Henry some help. Some times he embarrasses me; he can't seem

Henry perked up with the jibe at him, "How dare you say that
Janet." A now red faced Henry stood up and advanced on his
wife. I know what I know and DeeDee is a lesbian, and

screaming grew in volume; DeeDee sitting next to her Mom tried
not to scream and Hal, the family counselor, risked his life

therapy and we are here to find solutions to questions."
With some force Hal pushed Henry down into a chair right next
to DeeDee, Henry reached into his jacked and proceeded to
take out a magazine with a great show read it, it was of
course, Guns and Ammo. Henry pulled a battered NRA hat out of
his pocket and pulled it down over his head.
Hal took Janet's hand as he moved the beautiful woman to the
other side of the room. A few feet from Henry and said, "Lets
talk to you privately for just a second." A quick look showed
Hal that Henry was now engrossed in reading about 44 Magnums
handguns as Janet moved closer to Hal.
With an almost conspiratorial tone Hal asked , "May I ask you
a question? Were you serious about what you said, that you
would rather have been born a man? The husband rather than
the wife? Janet laughed; a smile came easily to her face. "Of
course I was serious, I think it's much easier being a man than
a woman, and I would love to be Henry instead of Janet. Given
the chance to change I would jump at it, and it certainly would
help our family, "that macho shit," she jerked her head to
indicate Henry, "needs to get a dose of humility. He needs to
understand others. At times I am really sorry I married him,
he's not a bad man but at times he a real bad person because
he can't seem to look at the world through other's eyes."
Hal did not reply but appeared deep in thought. Then, after
a brief moment of silence, saying nothing Hal seemed to wake
up and said, "Janet, let me get you some refreshment." And he
left the room.
Janet looked over at her husband and made a face, Henry was
such an idiot, how could she make him understand others
better?
It was about five minutes later when Hal appeared with a tray
of three drinks. Giving DeeDee a Pepsi, Hal moved toward his
quarry.
"Henry I understand that you're a bit of a gourmand, I have
some nice mulled wine here for you and Janet; it's a special
blend that will help you loosen up and help give you a
different perspective."
Glad to be offered anything alcoholic Henry took one of the
glasses and chugged a long slug of the drink. Henry beamed
after getting a buzz while Janet picked up her glass and
smiled curiously as she tasted the savory wine.
Moving toward his desk Hal said "Why don't we stop here
tonight? I think we made some good progress getting things
out in the open."
Henry 'hrmped' and tossed off the remaining wine and grabbed
a couple of cookies and said, "I'll see you and DeeDee at home;
I'm going down for a beer with the boys and don't wait up."
Henry left the counseling office without a look back.
DeeDee, still with the Pepsi in her hand literally rally ran
out of the door, crying "I'll be in the car Mom."
Janet looked at Hal and said, "I want to apologize for my
husband, he's a jerk but I love him."
Looking steadily back at Janet, Hal said. "I did something
that I hope you will like. Go home and get a good nights
sleep, you may need it; tomorrow will be a very different day
for you. I can see you and Harry tomorrow at 7:00 P.M; I
think you will like the change in your life. By the way if
you and Henry ever have sex, consider using virgin olive as
a lubricant".
Janet looked quizzically and seemed to stop herself from
answering, she just said "Ok, we'll see you tomorrow", she
turned and walked out of the room. Hal watched Janet leave,
she was one hell of a good looking girl and if was a positive
pleasure to watch her plump ass as it swayed back and forth.
Hal watched until the woman was out of sight

Hal was in his office as Henry Hardwood and his wife Janet
walked in. It was 24 hours since the last encounter and Henry

The new Janet moved close to Hal and pushed a large set of

"Today you have gone where few men have gone and now you must

The woman's reaction was abrupt as she put her hand to her

Hal broke down in laughter as the new Henry moved again to

"Doc, yesterday was great. When I awoke as Henry I was amazed
and happy and after a few minutes I showed my old husband

but she relaxed and got with the program, Henry really is a

it. Many people wondered why I stayed with Janet, one of the
reason is simply Henrys' equipment makes John Holmes look

Hal, for one time in his life was happy as the door shut. As
he picked up his jacket and he was careful to stop and get a
small package out of a desk drawer. It was time to find a
great looking softball player to have some wine with her.
'Mantles' was where the girl's softball team from the
University hung out. What would it be? Blonde, brunette or
redhead? Hal mused. Well I've always been a pretty good
pitcher. Whistling a tune, there'll be a change in me, Hal
strode out looking for a different perspective. Softball,
