Cherry Bing has an interview with Belle Starr and Dr. Aggie Busch. This
the transcript of the audio portion only. I left my recorder on in my
briefcase.
CB. Good afternoon. This Cherry Bing of Salem's Channel Ten News. Today
I am interviewing Belle Starr of the Wellman Clinic and Dr. Aggie Busch
of Girls R Us.
BS and AB. Good afternoon Cherry.
CB. Ms Starr, what is your title at the Wellman Clinic?
BS. First, call me Belle and I am the Director of Special Operations at
the Wellman.
CB. What do you do then Belle?
BS. I am the Chief Cook and Bottle Washer. I arrange both medical and
legal care of some of the Wellman's Clients. When needed, I arrange
Spiritual Advisors to come in. I also set up the bake sales, The
Talent/No Talent Night S.A.F. House show and other fund raisers. Here
try some of my oatmeal cookies. My mom's recipe.
CB. Walnuts, raisins, and chocolate chips. Some have all, some have one,
and some have two of the ingredients. How did you do that?
BS. Cooking tips later Cherry.
CB. Dr Busch, What is your job at Girls R Us?
AB. I am the Director of Operations. I run the show and handle all of
our hard cases. Girls R Us turns bad boys into good girls. I am told
Belle here, also does that.
CB. How do you both do that?
AB. Can't tell you. Proprietary Information.
BS. St. Joan of Arc gave me the gift.
CB. Who is she?
BS. St. Joan is the patron Saint of rape and sexual abuse victims.
CB. Can you change them back into men?
AB Yes, but only under certain conditions.
BS. Only if they are good girls and have repented.
CB. How is that done?
AB/BS as one. Can't tell you, it's proprietary information Cherry Baby!
(Laughter among the production crew and from AB and BS. Someone started
singing that hit song from the 60's.)
CB. You are both tough ladies.
BS. It comes with our jobs, they are man killers. Aggie I think my niece
has been corrupting you.
AB. Who is that Belle?
BS. Roberta Remington. She is marred and is expecting her first born
soon. Her doctor says it is twins.
AB. Is she related to Barry Remington?
BS. That's her husband. Proposed to her at the Irish and was married
under its gazebo last June.
(Thunder clashes as the lights go out.)
BS. Looks like Salem's finicky weather is striking again.
CB. Can you two do me a favor? Ease up when we go back on. You are
making me look bad.
AB. Cherry, some of the questions you have been asking we cannot answer.
CB. Cannot or will not?
BS. Both. That information is client confidential. You would not like
your doctor talking about your medical profile without your knowledge
and consent. The same goes for my clients. I think Girls R Us has their
guidelines along that line.
AB. Yes we do Belle. Different reasons in some cases, but the same type
rules. I believe we both pointed that out to you before we came for this
interview.
CB. O. K. Belle I see you have two pins on your jacket lapel. One is The
Marine Corps Emblem and other looks like a religious medal. How come?
BS. Well I am a former Marine and still draw pay as a Captain. I do help
some service members and their family. The Captain's rank just makes the
paperwork easier. The other is of St. Joan of Arc.
CB. Who set up the Wellman Clinic?
BS. Wild Bill, the owner of the Ye Old Irish Inn. He did that when was
playing for the Cowboys. Plitzz..
CB. Why the raspberry?
BS. I root for the Bills. They need all the help they can get.
CB. Why did he set up the Wellman?
BS. He did it after a lady he knew was raped. After he set up the
clinic, he tried to make the person who did it into paste.
CB. Did you meet Wild Bill at the Wellman?
BS. No, I knew him from my days as a Marine. He was a Platoon Sergeant.
We worked together on some projects.
CB. How did you get involved with the Wellman?
BS. I came to a friend's aid. After that St Joan gave me some gifts.
CB. Such as?
BS Like the fact I know that you were born a man and was changed into a
woman. St. Joan gave me that so I would know when a changed one was
truly repentant. I cannot change you back. I can change only the ones I
changed. Professional Courtesies.
AB. Neither can I Cherry, only the one that Girls R Us changes.
CB. I see, so neither one of you can change me then. Do you know who
could?
AB. I am not sure I do.
BS. It might help us help you if you to tell us how you were changed.
CB. You promise not to laugh or tell?
BS. Yes.
AB. Yes. Well I might giggle a bit if there is a part that is truly
funny.
CB. I guess I will have to trust the both of you. It happened at a
Halloween Party six years ago. Melisa, the girl I was dating at the
time, and I won some prizes. Some were from party games, one was for
Best Costume.
BS. Cool, so far so good. Did you have fun that night?
AB. What were the prizes Cherry?
CB. Most of the prizes were gift certificates or gift cards at local
stores or restaurants.
BS. Wild Bill gets the invite every year. You buy a ticket and donate a
prize. I went with Wild Bill last year. We each gave a dinner at the
Irish. Herman Hessman and his wife Hilda won one and we won a dinner off
Herman's Steak House.
CB. Tell the truth Belle.
BS. Well we did trade with Herman. Herman won the prize he brought and I
won a dinner from the Irish. So we traded for keep it honest. He does an
excellent steak there. Herman will say that Wild Bill does a perfect
SteamShip Beef. Each lays a claim to the Imported Beer and Wine.
CB. Don't they go head to head at the Fourth of July Cookoffs?
BS. Yes and most of the time tie. Except for last year when Mark Taylor
snuck in with Bar B Qued Ribs. Mark did credit both Herman and Bill for
teaching him a few tricks. He said he learned from two great masters.
AB. Back to your tale Cherry.
CB. Well Melisa won a coin from Spells R Us. It was the size of a Silver
Dollar and had a figure on each side. On the front there was some
strange markings and the back it said good for one wish from the Head
Wizard of Spells R Us. Use with care and wisely. Melisa the next day was
feeling down. I asked her what was wrong, and she said Last night's
party was dumb and we got a gag of a prize. I wish you could see some
things from my point of view. Well the room spun and the light pulsated.
Sounds faded in and out and I passed out. I woke up later and with
except having red hair, I looked like Melisa.
BS. Lucky Stiff. I wish St Joan made me a redhead. O.K. What was your
given name?
CB. Thomas David Bing. When I changed, Melisa told me that if she had a
sister, her name would have been Jeri, but you look like a Cherry. I was
blushing badly at the time. Jeri Cherry Bing. It stuck and we both
laughed ourselves silly. Then she took me shopping.
BS. For new cloths?
CB. Yes and to set up my new identification. Driver's License, Credit
Cards, and Social Security. Also to transfer my education credits to my
new name.
AB. Any good things happen?
CB. Yes I was hired here with a big pay packet. Bigger than if I came as
Tom.
BS. Do you or Melisa still have the coin?
CB. Melisa does. But she moved about four years ago. She didn't send me
her new address or means to reach her.
AB. Belle do you have your laptop on you?
BS. Sure Aggie. What do you need it for?
AB. I think I have seen a coin like that before.

AB. As a doctor, I am going to ask you if you had any unprotected sex in

portions. I know the camera crew went out for coffee and a smoke. The
power is starting come back now so they didn't hear a word we said or
did. I just tell them that Aggie and I have some appointments and we can
redo this later.

Later back the Wellman Clinic.
I was in my office when I heard a soft knock on my door. I told the
person to come in. It was Josie McCoy my secretary. She had a copy of
the camera's tape, one of my recorder, and a transcript. She told other
copies were in the vault already. I said Thanks a bunch Joise. Take the
rest of day off and have some fun. I work you too hard at times. I was
seeing Aggie for lunch at that new Korean Style restaurant. I won't show
off my skills with chop sticks. Josie said Thank you Belle. I went there
with my boyfriend last night. It is great. Warn Dr. Busch about the
Kimchi. I think they make it too hot. See you tomorrow. See you
