Smurfberries - Friends and Family
My name is Kendra Christine Davids. I wasn't always Kendra though.
Two years ago I stumbled onto a man selling these strange berries on
the beach of a tropical island. I bought them, and discovered that
they changed the sex of the person, from male to female, or female to
male. They came with a warning though, if I ever consumed two of the
same color, I would be stuck in that sex permanently. Over the next
two years, I started living as Kendra, and as I did, my life slowly
became hers, or rather mine now. When I turned out eighteen, I moved
out, and gained control of my life. That was yesterday. Today I was
lying in bed, breathing heavily. You see last night my friend John and
I had finally decided to get closer, and we made love. This morning
when I woke up, I decided this was what I truly wanted, so decided to
make it permanent. I had swallowed two berries for good measure, and
with that final act, Kevin was gone for ever.
I laid on the bed, breathing heavily, my auburn hair cascading
across the pillow behind me. My trim body was shaken, and the sheets
covering my rather well endowed chest rose and fell with my steady
breaths. My slightly tanned skin glowed in the morning sun, but my
almond eyes were troubled. The usual smile had been replaced with a
worried look. I looked at John who was next to me, staring at me with
a good deal of concern. He was roughly six foot three, which was
taller than my five foot eight frame. His short red hair was trimmed
nicely, and his green eyes seemed to be locked on mine.
"What do you mean Laura's in danger?" he asked. Moments before when
we kissed, I got this image flashed at me, of Laura, John's ex,
trapped somewhere and being held against her will. I could tell she
was scared, and frightened, and it had shaken me pretty bad.
"Exactly that, I saw her, and felt her fear, she was being held
somewhere against her will," I told him, my voice pouring out in an
emotional frenzy.
"Sssh, sssh," he said, wrapping his arm around me, and pulling me
in close, "It's going to be fine. I'm sure she's alright."
"Call her," I said, picking up my phone and handing it to him.
"What, are you sure?" he asked, slowly taking it from me.
"We have to make sure," I said, quite seriously.
"Alright," he said, conceding to me.
"Hi Mrs. Edwards, it's John, is Laura there?" he said into the
other end once someone had picked up. "She's not, do you know when
she'll be back?" He paused as the answer came, then a confused look
came across his face. "So you haven't heard from her?" The voice on
the other ended answered. I immediately began to panic, knowing that
my vision had to be true. "I'm sure you're right, could you ask her to
give me a call on my cell if you hear from her? Thanks, have a good
day." He hung up the phone.
"She went out last night," he reported, "and her mom hasn't seen
her since. She thinks she probably spent the night at her friends
house."
I laid back, quite upset, and stared at the ceiling. I put my hand
on my forehead, and tried to relax, "what if she's really in trouble?"
"Well, do you remember anything about where she was in your
vision?" he said, trying to sound helpful.
I let out a sigh of dismay, and closed my eyes trying to
concentrate on the pictures that had went through my head. "She's
somewhere dark, or maybe she's blind-folded. She's some place cold,
because she's sitting on a cold floor." I stiffened as it dawned on
me. The same kind of cold floor I had been sitting on when Jackie had
captured me.
"Oh my god John," I said turning to him, with tears welling up. "I
think Jackie has her. This is all my fault. If you guys didn't come to
rescue me in the first place, they would have never bothered Laura."
John stared at me for a second, and I put my arm around him.
"It's not your fault that Jackie decided to do something like this.
She's a sick person, and needs to be stopped." His reply was matter
of factly, and I could tell he was trying to figure out what to do. I
pulled myself out of bed with the blanket wrapped around me from the
chest down. "What are you doing?" he asked.
"Getting dressed," I replied, "we need to go check this out." I
moved towards my closet, and dropped my blanket. I started pulling my
clothes on, including a pair of black slacks, and a black tank top. I
started tossing John's clothes at him.
"C'mon get dressed," I told him.
"Do you think this is a good idea, I mean she's obviously nuts," he
said, with a tinge of fear in his voice. I shot him a serious look,
and he rolled his eyes, and started getting dressed. A few minutes
later, we were out the door, and on our way towards downtown. It was
late afternoon by the time we had returned to the place I had been
held at the last time Jackie tried something like this. Slowly we
crept up to the window overlooking the alley, and John and I slowly
peered in.
My heart started pounding the instant I looked in. Lying on the
floor, blindfolded, and bound was Laura. She seemed to be out for the
moment, but I could tell by her tear stained face that she had been
crying. Laura was a red-head, with a very trim figure, that I know she
spent a good deal of time maintaining. She would have made a great
gymnast, if it hadn't been for her well endowed chest, that lay behind
the red sweater she was wearing. Her hair was a mess, was sprawled
across her face, then when standing it would of come down to her
shoulders. Her face was cute, but not drop dead gorgeous, but
nevertheless, she had achieved a high position in school, as the
Student Body President, and head cheerleader.
I let out a silent gasp of astonishment, and looked at John. I
looked over and noticed Jackie sitting in a corner, nursing what
appeared to be a drink. Jackie used to be a guy named Jack Montgomery
who had treated me pretty rotten. To get my revenge, I used a pill
from the berries on him, and turned him into what he was now. His
blond hair fell across his back, and the front of his sleazy white
dress, which exposed a generous amount of his now ample cleavage. He
was a vision of pure sex, and with no where to go after his
transformation, had wound up working for a pimp named Frank in this
part of town. She hated me with a passion for what I had done to her,
and for what she now endured, and this was her revenge on me.
John grabbed my arm, and we retreated to his SUV. He looked at me
seriously, and said, "we have to call the cops."
"No," I said quite seriously, "They would try racing in, and that
might give Jackie time to hurt Laura."
"We don't know what were up against," he said, practically shouting
at me.
"I know what she wants," I said trying to remain calm. "It's back
at the apartment, so we have to go grab it."
John looked around trying to figure the situation up, before he
finally gave up. He walked over to the driver's side door, and got in.
I hopped in the passenger side, and we retraced our route back towards
the apartment. I guess if we weren't so caught up in the situation, we
would have noticed the motorcycle that had pulled out of the alleyway
across from us, and started following us back to my place.
Encounter
I left the door open as I ran, leaving John slowly coming up behind
me. Having a first floor apartment, it was easy to come and go, and
not have to worry about the stairs. I walked into my bedroom, and
opened the night table where I grabbed a blue berry. I already knew it
wouldn't have any effect on Jackie, but it was still a bargaining chip
to use to try and free Laura. I could make up the rest when I get
there.
I turned to leave when I heard something heavy hit the ground in
the living room. I froze, and a wave of fear washed over me. "John," I
called out, and slowly moved towards me bedroom door. I turned the
knob, and still hadn't heard a reply from him. I opened the door and
peaked out, seeing John's body lying in the entrance way. I threw the
door open and ran over to him, immediately regretting it. I felt a
powerful arm reach up and shove me into the wall behind me. I shook in
shock momentarily, then looked up to see the face of my aggressor. It
was a dark-haired guy in his mid twenties, with brown eyes like my own
staring at me. Most of his face was shrouded in the late afternoon
shadows. He was about the same size as John though. Trim build with
average muscular, and from what I could tell, very strong hands. He
was clad mostly in dark clothes. Baggy pants, and a navy blue turtle
neck, and what was like a leather jacket.
"What have you done with Kevin Daniels?" he asked rather fiercely.
"I don't know whom you're talking about," I lied as fear started to
creep into my voice.
"Don't lie to me," he said shaking me, "both of your names are on
the account paying for this place. What did you do, kill him, and take
his money?"
"No, it's nothing like that," I said, starting to cry.
"Tell me what happened then," he said shaking me again. I sniffed,
and then looked into his eyes. There was something familiar about
them, that I just couldn't place, like I knew him from somewhere
before. Suddenly it hit me, and I realized where I had seen him
before. I gasped in astonishment, and then voiced my realization.
"Chris?" I asked meekly.
"Who are you?" he asked, this time the fierceness returning to his
voice.
"It's me," I said weakly, "Kev."
"Nice try, but my brother is a guy," he said, and started pushing
harder. I started into his eyes, pleading with my own. I hoped beyond
hopes that he would see me behind this form I now occupied, and see
that I really was who I said I was. He stared right back, and then
suddenly I felt his grip relax. He let go of me, and backed up.
"But that's impossible," he said looking at my face, then the rest
of my body.
"It's a long story," I said. I sniffed as I tried to regain my
composure. I threw my arms around him though, losing it again, and
hugged him tightly. "I missed you so much."
He was uncertain how to reply, and reluctantly returned the hug.
"What happened to you?" I asked. "You've been gone for so long."
"I guess we both have our stories then," he said. I smiled at him,
and slowly my tears stopped. Then it hit me that I had forgotten all
about John.
"Oh my gosh," I said rushing over to John, and slowly trying to
rouse him. He groaned, and rubbed his head, and slowly started to
stand as I helped him up.
"What hit me?" he said.
"Oh," I said, my voice full of concern, "Poor baby, are you
alright?"
He sighed, then looked to Chris. "Um, who's this?"
"Um, John," I said, wrapping my arm around his waist, trying to
sound pleasant at the same time. "This is my brother."
John's eyes widened, and he suddenly felt a little awkward. "You
mean Chris."
Chris nodded reluctantly, and looked at John. John stared back at
him, and said, "wait, were you the one that knocked me out?"
Chris suddenly looked a little uncomfortable, and scratched the
back of his head, "uh yeah. I thought you guys were not who you are.
Sorry."
"It's alright," said John, somewhat confused. "I think."
I finally had Chris back in my life, which was great. I had missed
him so much since he left, but why was he back now. Could my life get
any weirder at this point? Just then I remembered why we were here in
the first place. "Oh crap guys, Laura."
John groaned, as he suddenly remembered too.
"Laura?" Chris asked, trying to figure out what was going on.
I filled him in with the short version. "This girl has this thing
in for me, and she abducted Laura, John's ex to try and get back at
me."
Chris nodded, "alright, but why?"
"She thinks Laura's our friend, so she took her to try to get me to
come to her."
"Is she dangerous?" he asked.
John piped in at this point, "Yeah, she's a fricken lunatic if you
ask."
"We were going to go try and get Laura back from her," I told him.
"I guess I better tag along," he said, "I don't want to see you get
hurt."
"Fine, but we have to go, there's no telling what she'll do to
her," I said heading towards the door.
Rescue
We all climbed back into John's vehicle, and moments later we sped
back downtown. We reached the alleyway in record time, but now
darkness had settled, and it was night. John and I walked over to the
window, and peeked in again. Laura was awake, and trying to struggle
against her bonds. Jackie was standing over her holding what looked
like a kitchen knife. John and looked at each other, and then
retreated away. We heard a click next to us, and I looked over. Chris
was standing there, holding something that seemed to give off the
glint of metal from the street lamps beyond the alley. I realized then
that it was a gun. I looked at him shocked, but he held a finger to
his lips to indicate silence. He came in closer, and whispered to me.
"Just the psycho?" he asked quietly. I nodded in response, and he
took a position behind the door, and John watched him with a bit of
shock and surprise.
"Do this much?" he whispered to him.
"Once or twice," came Chris's reply. He relaxed himself, which was
evident from the way he stretched his hands, and then suddenly he
surged forward, kicking the door open. His gun was leveled at Jackie's
head. "Drop the knife," he commanded.
There was a click, and Chris found a gun leveled at his head.
Apparently Frank, and his unattractive self had been hiding in the
shadows. "Nice try kid."
Jackie leered at him, and gave a wicked grin.
Laura finally spoke up, and cried out, "who's there now?"
John and I had remained hidden in the shadows but now watched in
terror as Chris was caught with a gun to his head. My brother who had
just come back into my life, and came here to make sure I was safe,
now faced certain death. I couldn't let him out of my life that easy.
Chris dropped his gun, and stood there looking like he had just
gotten screwed out of some deal. I felt this jolt of energy in my
body, as I rushed into the room, kicking the gun out of Frank's hand.
It flew through the air, and landed back behind some boxes. I followed
up with a swift kick to the stomach, and to everyone's surprise sent
him flying across the room into a different set of boxes. I felt all
this energy running through my body, and suddenly realized that I was
a lot stronger than I had been. I had to assume that was due to the
flashes, and now this were part of some side effect from taking the
two berries at once. Did I suddenly have superpowers or something?
Like I said, my life just keeps getting weirder. Frank dusted himself,
and stood facing him, standing what felt like a ready position for
fighting. Chris stared straight at Jackie, who held a knife in her
hand, and at this moment, John made his presence known in the room.
My mind was racing. The situation was now spiraling out of control,
and I felt like something bad was going to happen.
"Looks like it's a party now," said Jackie sarcastically.
"John," I yelled. "Get Laura out of here."
Laura suddenly seemed to come alive as my voice beamed across the
room. "Oh thank god you're here."
I stared straight at Frank, as he seemed to smile and laugh. "Looks
like the little girl is all grown up now."
"Do me a favor," I said to Chris, "switch dancing partners."
"Sure thing," he said, and took off towards Frank. He threw a punch
which landed in the older man's face, and I turned to face Jackie.
"Fitting," she said, still keeping herself between John and Laura.
"You and I coming down to this."
"We're stopping this now, Jackie," I told her, my voice starting to
sound stronger.
"Gotta get through me first," came her reply. And she rushed at me.
She swung the knife at my head, but I ducked, and tripped her as she
came at me. She dropped the knife as she fell, and it flew across the
ground. John grabbed, and ran over towards Laura. He removed her
blindfold, and started working on her binds.
"What's going on?" she asked slightly confused.
"Well," John stated. "We heard you were in trouble so we formed a
posse. Now Butch and id are taking care of those nasty outlaws."
I heard the sound of flesh on flesh as Frank connected with Chris's
jaw. Chris charged at Frank, grabbing him, forced him into some boxes,
which sent him down for the count. Meanwhile Jackie had gotten back
up, and tried to throw a punch at me. Surprising myself, I easily
blocked it, and then smacked her across the face. She turned with it
in pain, then looked up at me with tear stained eyes. Laura was free
of her bonds, and she and John were behind me. Chris came over and
stood behind me too, and Jackie realized she was suddenly out
numbered. She backed up, and took off into the night. I moved forward
to go, but Chris grabbed by the shoulder and stopped me.
"Let her go," he warned. I looked him, partly out of anger, but saw
the reason in his eyes, and relaxed my position. John was holding onto
Laura, who looked kind of hurt.
"Let's get out of here," John said, echoing the thought on
everyone's mind.
I nodded, and slowly we filed out of the building.
The Living Room
After a very quiet ride home, as all sat contemplating what
everything meant, we found ourselves at my apartment, and John parked
next to Chris's bike. We all filed out, and slowly made our way
inside, still completely in silence. John was the last one, and closed
the door behind us. He glanced at the rest of us, then sighed. "So
what else are we going to do tonight?" He smiled, and so did the rest
of us, even Chris who's stoic demeanor I had finally seen broken. It
only lasted a second though, as he was the next to speak.
"Well kiddies," he said, addressing as the older person present, "I
think it's story time."
Laura looked straight at me, and I stared back. Her expression was
hard to read, but I sensed fear, and anger from her. She rubbed her
arms, obviously uncomfortable about her surroundings, and said, "Yeah,
an explanation would be good."
I sighed, and rubbed my hands over my face before I retreated back
to the living area. I sat down in my papassant which faced away from
the main windows. Chris sat on the couch facing me, with John to his
left in one of the chairs. Laura sat across from him, trying not to
make eye contact. Chris, decided to take the lead, and looked at me.
"What happened to you?" he asked calmly. John looked over at me
with a look of support. I took a deep breath, closed my eyes, and
relaxed. Slowly I began my tale of the last year, and how I came to be
what I was. I left out some of the more romantic details, as well as
Jack and Jackie's involvement in the entire thing. Chris watched
patiently as I explained all about the way I felt, and the way the
berries worked. Finally my story reached the present, and I told them
all about how I had taken the last two berries yesterday, and made my
change permanent. Chris nodded carefully. John still had the same look
on his face, the one that said he supported me all the way, and that
he was there for me. Laura was the only one though that seemed to have
some trouble with the truth.
"So you're really Kevin," she said staring off into space.
I turned to her, and tried to look sympathetic, "not anymore."
"But you were a guy," she said, finally turning to look at me.
"Yeah," I said, nodding as well to confirm the question.
"Wow, I wondered what happened to Kevin," she said looking at John,
"I just thought you stopped hanging out with him."
"Sorta," he said, "but not quite." A grin slowly came over his
face.
"Do mom and dad know?" said Chris finally entering the
conversation.
"No," I said calmly, "they don't."
"So you're totally a girl, I mean, one-hundred percent, fully
functional woman?" said Laura, sounding as if she had finally made to
the point of understanding.
"Complete with multiple orgasm capabilities," I said trying to
sound like my former science focused self.
John blushed, probably as the night before ran through his head. So
did I, when I saw the look on my brother's face, which seemed to
indicate that was a little too much information. Laura had a silly
smile on his face.
"What's the deal with Jackie?" said Chris, trying to turn the
subject away from his former brother's sexual habits.
I took another deep breath, and stared at him. I decided it was
time to tell them the truth, and so I retold all the events of what
happened with Jack, and how I had used what I learned about the
berries to get my revenge on him. I even told them about how I tricked
him into eating the last pink berry.
John looked confused for a little bit, as memories of my darker
side flooded into his mind. He had avoided it until now, but finally
it had caught up with him. Chris took it in patiently, and nodded. I
assumed Laura was going to start shouting, and screaming about what a
bad thing I had done, but then I saw she looked sort of sympathetic.
"What you did wasn't right," said Chris finally breaking the
silence. "But her response has been less than regretful, so I can
imagine why you did what you did."
I stared at him for a moment, and remembered the lectures he used
to give me when I was younger. I hadn't seen him since I was fourteen,
which means he was twenty at the time. I always looked up to him, but
then he just disappeared one day, and a big part of my life went with
him. With this emotion filling my voice, I practically whispered my
next question. "What about you, where have you been all this time?"
Everyone turned their attention to Chris who was staring at his
hands that he slowly rubbed together. He took his own deep breath and
than started.
"When I was nineteen, I started a part time job as a courier," he
began. "I took documents from point A to point B, and such. It was a
good job, until I became mixed up with some bad people. I witnessed a
mob related shooting on one of my runs, and the police brought me in
for questioning. I volunteered to them everything I knew, and they
decided it was for my best interest to put me into Witness Relocation.
I had no choice. They packed me into a vehicle, and sent me off to
California."
My eyes fell to the floor, and then back up to meet his own stare.
John had shifted uncomfortably in his chair. Chris paused for a
moment, and then continued. "I decided that I wanted to do something
with my life at that point, and decided to join the army. I signed on
at a recruiter and went through basic. I did so well though, they
stuffed me into Special Forces." His gaze fell to the floor. "I was
one of the first ones into Afghanistan after September 11th. I spent
two years over there, chasing down bad guys, before I was finally
wounded in the shoulder after a midnight raid. They sent me home after
that, and I requested, and received an Honorable Discharge. I had my
fill of war."
"Chris, I'm so sorry," I started, but he put a hand up to silence
me.
"After that, I got out, and came back here, looking for you, and
when I couldn't find you, I traced your bank accounts, and found," he
said pausing, and then gesturing with his hands, "you. So I followed
you around, convinced you had done something to yourself, and waited
for the right time to confront you."
John rubbed his head as he recalled the nice lump he had received
prior this afternoon. I stood up from my chair, and crossed around the
coffee table, and sat down next to him. I wrapped my arm around him,
and hugged him tightly. "I missed you so much." I laid my head on his
shoulder. His arm came around me, and rubbed my side.
John watched the two of us, and observed, "So uh, your family is
kinda different."
Chris and I both laughed together, and I replied, "yeah, I guess
so."
Laura looked at the two of us, and said, "now what?"
I turned towards her, and summoned some of my inner strength, "we
crash here for the night. Obviously we're still a little jolted by
what happened, and it's probably best we are all here."
"Great," said Laura, returning to her former mood. She was
obviously uncomfortable in her surroundings, what with her ex-
boyfriend, and the girl that probably took him from her.
"John and Chris can sleep out here," I stated. I looked at Laura,
and said, "us girls will sleep in my room."
"Joy," said Laura rolling her eyes, and got up to call her mother.
I went to the closet, and pulled some linens out for the guys, and
Chris followed me.
"Hey," he said, as I pulled a pillow out. "What you did back in
that room, with Frank when he had, you know..." I nodded at him.
"That was really brave."
"I don't know what came over me, I just felt this surge of energy,
and suddenly I was able to send him across the room with one kick," I
said trying to describe through emotion what it felt like.
"Do you think it was another side effect of the berries, like the
flash?" he asked with renewed interest.
I shrugged, and closed the door after I pulled out the blankets. "I
don't know."
I handed them to Chris, who walked towards the living area. John
looked over at him and said, "you can have the couch, I'll take the
floor."
"No," Chris replied, "I'm used to the floor, you take the couch."
"Okay," said John, and kicked his shoes off, sitting down on it. I
left the two to their own designs, and went into my bedroom, where I
found Laura finishing up the phone call with her mother.
"Love you too," she said, and pressed end on her phone. She put it
into her purse, then turned to look at me. She sighed and sat down on
my bed.
I smiled warmly, and faced the closet, pulling out a pair of silk
pajamas. They were pink, and felt really good when they touched my
skin. I offered them to her, and she took them reluctantly, "thanks."
I pulled out a blue pair, and facing away from her, pulled off my
shirt. She lied back on the bed, and said, "thanks by the way."
"For what?" I asked, as I slowly removed my bra, and donned the
top.
"Saving my life," she said slowly.
"Yeah, well," I said quietly, "it was kind my fault it was
threatened in the first place." I had gotten the rest of the pj's on,
and turned to see so had Laura. She was lying on the side of the bed
that I had been on the previous night, so I climbed in next to her.
I turned out the light, and we lay there in silence, both wide
awake. I felt guilty about what happened to her, because of me, and
felt I had to get it off my chest.
"Look," I said, beginning, but sighing as lost my courage. I
summoned it back up and continued. "I didn't....I mean.....the thing
with John, I never wanted it to happen that way."
She sighed, and said, "I'm not sure what's worse, the fact that
another girl stole him, or the fact that the girl used to be a guy,
not to mention his best friend." She rubbed her face, and sighed. "I
don't blame you. We were having problems before you came into the
picture. I was putting my school work ahead of him, and the whole
trying to get into college. He felt neglected, and I didn't do
anything to rectify it. He is a great guy though."
"Yeah," I said smiling, remembering all the time I spent with him
since I became Kendra.
"Yeah," she said, "but he can be a real dork sometimes."
"Yeah," I said smiling, and then two of us started laughing. It was
our first real connection since we met.
Silence came again, and we both stared at the ceiling. "Listen
Laura," I said. "I don't have that many friends, or even people that
know about my past. It would mean a lot to me if we could be friends."
She turned to look at me, and I turned to look at her. She smiled
and said, "Well.....okay." We both laughed, and pulled each other
close together in a hug of friendship. It felt form, and comfortable,
but then I noticed that I was getting slightly turned on by it, and so
did she, which caused her to pull away.
"Woah there," she said with a little playful tone, "I don't swing
that way."
"Sorry," I said, "I tend to react to either sex now." I smiled
mischievously at her though as a sudden thought popped into my head.
"What?" she asked noticing it.
"Well, I'm sure we could call John in here if you want, I'm sure
he'd be up for a three way."
She started laughing and laid back down, "You are so naughty."
"Just one of the many interesting sides of my personality," I said.
We kept talking about different things. Music, childhoods, and
finally we drifted to a subject I had started to really get into,
which was clothes. Eventually though, sleep overtook us, and we fell
asleep.
Friends
I woke up, without the usual sun to great me, for today it seemed
trap behind a sheet of clouds. I slowly got up, and woke Laura up in
the process. I sat up, and rubbed the sleep from eyes. "I'm going to
take a shower," I announced. I walked into the bathroom that was
adjoined to my room, and started the shower. I stripped out of my
clothes, and looked in the mirror. It was then that I noticed it. My
eyes were brown. When I had first become Kendra, my eyes were blue. My
complexion seemed a lot clearer then it had been before, almost
flawless. I guess the last berry that finished my change, truly
finished it. I looked at my eyes again, as the steam from the shower
started to fill the room, and decided that this was the part of me
that was still Kevin.
I finished my shower quickly, and wrapped my body and my hair in a
towel. I walked out and told Laura, I was done, and she quickly went
in. I plugged in my hair dryer, and spent several minutes getting it
to dry, before it was at a stage I was comfortable with. I pulled off
my towel, and dropped it into the waste basket. I walked over to my
dresser, and pulled out my pair of pink panties, and matching bra that
I had first bought when I changed. I put them on, and then pulled out
my absolutely favorite pair of jeans. I slowly put them on. Laura came
out of the shower, just as I finished buttoning them. I turned to look
at her and noticed she only had her body covered in a towel.
"Those look good on you," she said.
"Thanks," I said smiling, "they're my favorite pair."
I walked over to my closet, and started searching through my
shirts, and blouses. Laura dressed behind me, putting on her clothes
from the day before. She looked at her shirt though, and realized it
was pretty dirty.
"Can I borrow a shirt?" she asked.
"Sure," I said pulling my pink spaghetti strap tank top from the
closet, and slowly getting into it. She walked over to my closet, and
started looking through it.
I pushed my long brown hair back, and heard her say, "you have some
really nice stuff."
"Thanks," I said smiling, "I'd offer you some undergarments, but I
think they might not fit you." I pointed to her boobs, and she looked
down and laughed.
"Yeah, I guess they are a little bigger," she said. "But I think
your butt is cuter than mine."
I laughed, and said, "I thought you didn't swing that way."
She smiled, and said warmly, "I'm just stating a fact. It's a bit
bigger and rounder than mine."
She finally settled on a white ribbed turtleneck that she pulled
out, and quickly donned. Once it was over head, she pushed her hair
back into position, and joined me at my vanity as we applied makeup. I
applied a gentle brushing and looked at Laura. She had the classic
freckles that most redheads do, and they seemed to stand out a bit.
Here skin was kind of pale, and seemed to betray her European
heritage. We smiled at each other as we both put on a touch of
lipstick.
As we walked out into the living area, I saw John sprawled out on
the couch, still quite asleep, and Chris resting comfortably on the
floor nearby. I quietly stalked over to John, and cautiously kissed
him on the forehead. He groaned, but still remained quite asleep. I
walked into the Kitchen area, and decided I should make breakfast for
everyone. I decided on pancakes, since it was one of the few things
that I made well. I looked at Laura.
"Would you mine setting the table?" I asked.
"Sure thing," she said, and reached into the cupboard to grab some
plates. She took them over to the table and set them down. "Aren't
they cute when they're sleeping? Just like little boys at rest."
"Yeah, I think I caught John sucking his thumb just a moment ago,"
I said from the kitchen.
"He was doing it all night," said Chris who appeared to be quite
awake, "I just didn't want to say anything."
We all laughed, except for John, who seemed to awake with the
statement. In sleep filled words he responded by saying, "screw you
all." We all laughed again, and Laura joined me in the kitchen as I
slowly applied butter to the pan.
"So what you have planned for today?" she asked. I pulled out the
store bought batter mix, and let it defrost for a few moments, as the
pan warmed.
"I'm actually going to pickup my new car," I said turning towards
her.
"Yeah," came John from the living area, "she bought a Mercedes
Convertible, or something. She wouldn't even take me with her when she
picked it out."
"That is awesome," said Laura, excitement coming over her face,
"you have to take me with you when you get it!"
"Sure," I said. She reached into the cupboard, and pulled some cups
out, and set them on the table.
"Oh," I said, "there's some orange juice in the fridge."
John slowly stood up, and said, "well, you two seem to be getting
along a lot better."
"Well you know," Laura replied, "we hashed some stuff out."
"That's good," said John looking at both of us.
Chris was already up, and folding his sheets. "Do you mind if I
crash here today?"
"Oh great, you're back in my life for a day, and you've already
started mooching," I said in a silly tone. He smiled, and I continued,
"of course, big bro."
"Thanks, um," he paused, then said, "little sis." He stumbled over
the word, like he was trying it out. I laughed when he said it. The
first stack of pancakes were done by then, and I brought them over to
the table. I sat down facing the window, and John sat to my right.
Laura was to my left, and Chris rested across from me.
We folded our napkins on our lap, and I looked at all of them.
"This is really great."
"So let's dig in," said John, and Laura and I both laughed.
We spent most of breakfast talking about the stupid stuff. Chris
seemed quiet through most of that part. He and Laura became engaged in
a heated debate about politics, while John I talked about some of his
tests coming up. He had big biology test coming up, and I told him I'd
help him through the finer points. I started collecting the plates
when everyone was finished, and John gave me a hand. Laura and Chris
were still talking about something, but I hadn't paid attention to
know what. While we were putting the dishes in the sink, John looked
over, and wrapped his hand around my waist. I moved up, and kissed his
lips, something I hadn't done in over a day. He kissed me back, but we
didn't get too involved, since we were trying to manage a task.
"I have to go home in a little bit," he said, "I think my family
might miss me after not seeing me for two days."
I smiled at him, and said, "alright, maybe I'll see you later
tonight."
"I can't make any promises with school being tomorrow, but I'll see
what I can do."
I looked at the clock on the microwave, and noticed the dealership
was probably now open. I joined Laura and Chris on the couch, and
noticed they were watching some sort of political crossfire show.
"So what are we going to do about Jackie, and Frank?" asked John.
"I don't know," I said turning back to the dishes.
"Looks like we won't have to do anything," said Chris, and turned
up the volume on the television. He had flipped to a local news
channel which had a picture of Frank's face on it, with the caption of
'Shooting' beneath it.
"....was found dead this morning in an alley downtown," came the
voice of the reporter. "Sources at the police department seem to
indicate that his death may be mob related, but it is suspected that
one the former pimp may have been done in by one of his own employees.
In other news..."
"So much for Frank," said John turning back to me. "Think it was
Jackie?"
"I don't know," I said, "maybe."
He looked at his watch, and said, "it's about time for me to head
out."
I looked at Laura, "the dealership is probably open, wanna come?"
"Sure," she said getting up.
"You coming, Chris?" I asked, inviting him along for the ride.
"No thanks," he said, "I'm just going to chill here."
I grabbed my denim jacket from the closet next to the door, and
grabbed my handbag. I looked at John, and Laura. "Ready?"
We hopped in the car, and John dropped us off on the way home at
the Mercedes-Benz dealership. I walked into the showroom, and found
the man I had spoken to before. I signed a few papers, and they sent
someone to get my car. We stood outside, and waited. It was a very
short wait when a black Mercedes CLK series pulled around the corner.
The xenon beams shone like two stars, as it pulled up next to us. The
guy hopped out, and handed me the keys.
"Here you go ladies," he said, and ran off into the building. The
top of the car was already down. I opened the driver side door, and
Laura got into the passenger.
"Oh my god K," she said. I smiled at the nickname, "this is looks
so cool." It came complete with leather interior. I pulled out my
sunglasses that were tinted blue, and even though I didn't need them I
put them on for effect. We pulled out of the dealership and got onto
the highway. I had brought my favorite dance CD, and placed it in the
player.
Laura turned it up when it got to a song she liked, and started
dancing in the front seat. I smiled, and just enjoyed the ride. The
song ended, and again we were cruising along talking.
"So your brother seems like a pretty cool guy," she said, looking
off at the landscape as it passed.
"Yeah, he's always been pretty neat." Then I suddenly realized
what she meant. I turned towards her for a moment, and said, "why?
"What do you mean?" she asked sounding innocent.
"Oh my god, you're into him!" I said, realizing the truth.
"Maybe. He's awfully cute, and he's smart too. Hard combination to
find."
"Oh god, I can't believe this," I said making phony gagging sounds.
"Relax," she said. I laughed at her, and she joined me.
We came to a stop at a light, and we looked over to our right.
There was a sedan packed with a bunch of guys our age. They revved
their engine at us, and we turned to look at them.
"What losers," I said smiling. Laura waved and smiled at them,
blowing a kiss.
"It's harmless fun," she said. I then realized something I hadn't
before. There the two of us were in a black convertible, looking like
we did. We weren't just cute teenagers, we were both beautiful in our
own right. I had guys drooling over me, and when I was a guy, I had
been drooling over girls like Laura. The realization of what we were
to those was astonishing to me, and I almost didn't notice the light
change. This was my life now, being a girl like Laura, in this world.
A smile crossed my lips, and expanded to full out face covering grin.
"What?" Laura asked, noticing my ear to ear grin.
"Nothing, I just realized something," I said.
"Oh yeah?" she asked, "what's that?"
"I'm happy." I said looking back at her. She smiled, and squeezed
my free hand.
I parked the car, and put the roof up, because I didn't like the
way the sky looked. We slowly made our way up the walk to the
apartment, and walked in the front door. Closing it behind us, I
noticed Chris who was still sitting on the couch watching TV. He
looked at the two of us as we came in, but turned back towards the
television. I hung up my jacket, and took my sunglasses off, placing
them back in my jacket pocket. Laura crossed around behind the couch,
and sat down in one of the chairs, crossing her legs. I yawned, and
told everyone I was going to take a short nap. They waved, as I walked
over to my bedroom. Once there, I quickly got out of my shoes, and
walked over to the bed, collapsing on top of it. I dropped my hands to
my legs, and slowly ran them up my sides, until I stretched them out
into the air, taking my body in as I did. It felt good, and so did I.
Life was good.
Take Out
My eyes opened, and I realized that it was late afternoon. It was
already dark outside, and rain was falling. I rubbed the sleep out of
my eyes, and got off the bed, making my way to the vanity. I quickly
straightened my hair, smiling at my reflection in the mirror, and
moved towards my door. I opened, and slowly walked into the living
room. I caught a flash of what seemed like Laura jumping up, and
landing on the far side of the couch. Chris was at the other end
casually watching the television. His eyes glanced in my direction,
and I knew immediately something was up.
"Hi guys," I said warily.
"Um, hey," said Laura, "who seemed kinda flustered."
"Is everything alright?" I asked, trying to hide the suspicion in
my voice.
"Yeah," said Laura trying to smile innocently. I flashed her a
knowing smile, and winked at her. She blushed realizing the game was
up, and winked back. Chris missed the entire exchange, so to make
things a little difficult, I came up behind him, and wrapped my arms
around his neck. "I love my big brother." My tone was silly, and
affectionate. I tried my best to embarrass him, and I think it worked,
because he broke out in a blush. I glanced at Laura and noticed she
was trying very hard not to blush.
"I think I'm going to go grab some Chinese," I said, pulling myself
off him. "You guys want some?"
"Yeah, Chinese would be good," said Chris, turning to look at me. I
looked at Laura, who nodded as well.
"Alright," I said grabbing my jacket, "I'll be back in a bit." I
put my denim jacket back on, and opened the door. The rain was coming
down some, so I rushed over to my car. I quickly hopped in, and
started the engine. I drove over to the local Chinese place, thinking
about what I had just witnessed in my apartment. Though I wasn't one-
hundred percent sure, it seemed I had just broken up a slightly
intimate session between my brother and Laura. I realized I wasn't
mad, but actually kind of happy for the two of them. Had I paid more
attention to the world around me, I probably would have noticed the
pair of headlights that were following behind me. Several minutes
later, I pulled into the Chinese place's parking lot, and hopped out.
Just as I did, another car, a sedan, flew into the parking space next
to me, and two guys hopped out. They raced towards me, and grabbed me,
quickly managing to secure my arms and legs from any real ability to
fight back. Panic rushed over me as I realized I was suddenly
helpless, and one of them reached up to my neck with some sort of
device, and I suddenly felt like every nerve in my body was on fire,
until the moment I blacked out.
I came to, what felt like days later, and realized immediately
several things were wrong. One, I was sitting in a chair, and two I
couldn't move, because three my feet, hands, and mid section were
bound to the chair. I also noticed I was gagged, which frightened me,
but I quickly regained my composure. I looked around the room, and
noticed it was lavishly decorated. It seemed to be a bedroom, because
behind me was a large canopy bed. The walls were dressed in yellow
wallpaper, and the room was lit by a single lamp on the table behind
me.
My chair was in the center of the room, and looked somewhat
antique. Across from me was the door. Seeing that there was nothing in
the room that could provide me with assistance, I tried frantically to
release my bindings using pure strength. That didn't seem to work. And
I realized that I was truly stuck. I tried moving the chair, but
realized it was old enough that it was made of sturdier materials, and
refused to budge. I had no choice, but to sit and wait.
What seemed like an hour later, the door to my room finally opened,
by what seemed like a suited man. The door stood open for a minute, as
the person that continued to haunt my existence came in. She was
wearing what looked like a white evening gown which looked a bit more
modest than her previous attire. However it did have a slit down one
of its sides, probably making it easier to walk in. She had a grin of
triumph as she entered the room, and her stare was focused right on
me. The door closed once she was fully inside the room. She smiled
politely and said, "well, if it isn't the mighty Kendra."
I glared daggers back at her, as my anger started to rise. If it
hadn't been for the gag, I probably would have let loose on her.
She knew that though, so her grin got bigger as she folded her arms
in front of her. "Like the dress?" she said indicating the form
hugging cloth, "it was a gift from Tony, the guy I'm seeing now." She
twirled in it, just like model posing for a shoot. "Apparently there's
room for advancement in his family for underlings willing to do in
their own boss who was skimming off the side."
So she had killed Frank.
"And now, Frank's whole operation, and all the young woman in his
outfit," she said pausing for effect, then pointed at herself, "work
for me. As well as few guys for hired muscle. Isn't that great."
Terrific, I thought.
"Don't worry though," she said slowly stalking towards me, "I'm not
going to make you into one of them. No I have grander designs for
you." She came to a rest in front of me, and leaned down to stare
directly into my eyes. "You see, I'm probably just going to let me men
have their way with you, and then let them kill you. You're a gift to
me from Tony you see, and he said, I could do whatever I want with
you."
I glared back at her, and slowly she removed my gag, hoping to hear
a reaction that would make the experience more enjoyable for her. Once
it was free, I glared at her. "Fuck you."
"I was hoping you were going to say something like that," she said,
and lowered herself onto me, straddling herself across my legs. She
wrapped her arms around my neck, and smiled. "You see, while Tony, and
several men before him, have been wonderfully good at exciting my
female pleasures that you so wonderfully bestowed on me," she said in
a mocking tone, "I find that mentally, I'm still drawn to women. So
before my boys have a go at you, I've decided to play the mother
figure, and make sure you're not poison." She reached in to kiss me,
and I pulled back, but just then she produced a knife, don't ask where
it was hidden, and I found it at my throat. I froze, and her lips
finally found me. She kissed me deeply for a few moments, and then
slowly, her hands started playing with my hair. She moved to my neck,
and slowly worked her way down, while her free hand moved down my
side, and slowly stroked my left tit. I could feel her own body grow
warm as she became slightly aroused. She moaned with pleasure as her
lips connected with mine again. Even though I was furious with her,
and mad beyond belief, my body, which was so sexually charged,
betrayed me, becoming aroused by the touching, and caressing. She
noticed this and became a little more bold in her actions.
Just as her free hand at begun to pull up my blouse, the door to
the room opened, and a middle aged dark haired man, dressed in what
appeared to be a rather expensive suit, entered the room, smiling.
"Woah," he said, his thick Italian accent apparent in his voice,
"what we have here?"
Jackie turned, and smiled at the newcomer, "Tony, baby."
"A little girl on girl action huh?" he said smiling, and keeping
his distance, "don't stop on my account." Jackie got off me, leaving
me in my vulnerable position, but without a knife to my throat, and
ran over to hug her new beau.
"You look great tonight."
She smiled, and kissed him deeply on lips, "Thanks baby."
"And who do we have here," he said turning to face me. I was
glaring at the two of them. "Is this your present you asked for?"
"That's her," said Jackie, pointing at me with the knife.
"Darling," she said turning to face Tony, "meet Kendra."
"She quite the looker too," he said, and slowly walked over. He
brushed my cheek with his finger, and I pulled away in revulsion.
"Fierce too," he remarked. "Don't worry, we can work that out of her."
Jackie giggled, "Oh don't worry about that honey, she won't be
along enough to even consider that."
Tony laughed, and turned back to Jackie. He walked over, and pulled
her close to him. "Just tell Ricky when you're done, and he'll dispose
the body." He kissed her again, and turned back to me. "Oh, and try
not to get blood on the floor."
She looked at him with a pouty face, and said, "alright, I'll try."
From just beyond the door though came the sound of a heavy object
hitting the floor, followed almost immediately by almost the same
sound. Jackie, and Tony turned to look to the door. "What was that?"
he asked. The door suddenly cracked open, and swung slowly on its
hinge towards the outside.
"Yo Ricky," Tony called out, "What's going on?"
In a rather loud crash, the door flew off its hinges down the hall,
and in stalked quite to my surprise, a rather pissed looking Laura.
"Sorry man, looks like Ricky is on break." She glared at the couple
still holding each other.
"Who the fuck are you?" he asked staring at the girl who had
suddenly removed a very heavy door from its foundations.
"She," came a voice from the other side of the door, "is with me."
Chris finished his statement, and pushed his way into the room, his
gun leveled straight out in front of him. It now possessed a silencer.
Tony stared at him for a moment, and then cocked his head to his
side. "So Christopher Daniels finally returns after all this time."
"That's right Tony Jacobs," he replied staring right at him.
"Who's the cunt?" he asked motioning towards Laura.
"A girl that's about to drop your ass," said Laura speaking up with
quite a bit of confidence. John also revealed himself too, coming in
behind Laura.
"Yes darling," said Jackie, "they're the ones that keep getting in
my way. There friends of our guest Kendra."
Chris leveled his gun at Tony, "That's right, and I suggest you let
her go right this instant."
"I think my boys might have something to say about that," he said
with an air of confidence that didn't seem to quit.
"News flash for you," said John, finally throwing his voice into
the conversation. "We just laid your boys out." I noticed Jackie was
suddenly producing the knife again, and was clutching it behind her. I
stared at Laura with a look of worry, then back to Jackie's backside.
She nodded, as she got the message. Laura charged Jackie, who
separated from Tony, and bared the knife. She tried to make it over to
me first, but Laura was faster, and jumped up, kicking Jackie before
she got to me, and sending her flying onto the bed. She landed quite
gracefully, and glared at Tony. Chris still held the gun level at
Tony, who raised both of his arms in surrender.
"Maybe we can work out a deal," he said, trying to sound friendly.
"Yeah here's one," Chris said. "We're taking her, and you're going
to leave me and my kind alone, or we're going to come back and finish
the job."
"Yeah," said Tony, his confidence suddenly gone. "Whatever you
say." Laura came up behind me and started working the hand bindings,
while John rushed up, and slowly undid my feet.
"Thanks guys," I said my voice full of emotion. I suddenly felt
tired and weak, and as Laura undid the ropes binding my mid section to
the chair, and I suddenly fell forward. Thankfully John was still
there, and caught me. He picked me up, with my arms slung around his
neck, and headed back towards the door. Laura covered him from behind,
and stood next to Chris.
"I mean it Tony," he told the crime boss. "I don't want to see you
again."
"I get the message," Tony said.
Chris raised the gun, and slowly, the four of us left the room. We
quickly moved through what turned out to be a mansion, and made our
way down the driveway, and out the gate with a little bit of trouble.
John had carried me the entire way, but as we got to the car, he
handed me off to Laura, who surprisingly, had no difficulty carrying
me. We piled into John's car, with two guys riding up front, and Laura
and I in the back.
"What happened back there?" I asked slightly confused.
Laura was the one that started. "After you didn't return from your
take out run, Chris and I began to get worried. We called John and he
hadn't seen you either. That was two days ago."
I groaned rubbing my wrists, trying to get some feeling back into
them.
"We assumed the worst, and started making calls, put out a missing
persons report, but no one had seen you," she continued. "Then John
had an idea."
"What idea?" I asked.
"I remembered what happened to you when you took the two berries at
once," he said.
I looked slightly confused, so he continued, "the flashes." I
nodded as I realized what he meant, and Laura continued.
"So we found the berries, and since we knew you were a girl, and
you developed that ability, the logical choice was that I do the same.
So I took two berries, and hoped for the best. Sure enough, I got a
flash of where you were, and Chris seemed to know right where that
was. We rushed over, and then we fought our way through that wonderful
mansion of guards."
"Fought?" I asked, slightly shocked.
"Well apparently, I received both gifts, including what seems to
mean, I'm stronger, faster, and agile. It seems like we're like
Slayers or something," she said.
I groaned, "Please don't tell me you just compared us to Buffy the
Vampire Slayer?" I asked, the clich? making my head feel worse than
before. She laughed at this statement, and I forced a giggle as well.
"I can't believe you guys risked your lives to come to my rescue,"
I said, suddenly realized how much they cared about me.
"Of course girl," said Laura playfully punching me in the shoulder.
It hurt a little, but I smiled anyway.
"You're my sister," said Chris. "I'd do anything to protect you."
"And you're my entire world," said John, "I love you."
I smiled as a wave of comfort washed over me. I was with my
friends. No wait, I was with my family. These were the people that
truly loved me, who truly cared about me. No matter who or what I was,
these were the people in my life that mattered. I smiled, and relaxed.
Before I knew, we were in front of my place, and I had worked up
enough strength to walk to the door. Chris opened the door for me, and
we slowly filed in. I looked at all of them once we were inside, and
smiled. "I love you guys."
Laura came up to me first, and in this light I noticed that she was
different. Her freckles were gone, and her skin was as flawless as
mine. It was a little bit darker, and as we locked in a hug, it felt
like her chest was a bit smaller. I looked down, and noticed that her
bottom was a bit rounder as well. The berries had rectified her flaws,
and she had become truly beautiful now, more so than before. We were
linked by an experience, and in some ways we were the same, possessing
unique abilities no one else had. We hugged for a little bit, and she
pulled apart holding both my hands.
"There's still one question I can't figure out," I said staring at
her.
"What's that?" she asked.
"Well, when I got the flash, I was kissing John," I said.
"Yeah," John piped in. "I sort of told them about that part."
"So how did Laura get the flash?" I asked.
She let go of my hands, and slowly moved next to Chris, who wrapped
his arm around her, and pulled her close to him. The two of them
looked at each other, and grinned then turned to face me. "We found a
way."
I flashed her a knowing smile, and winked at her, and smiled back.
She reached up, and met Chris's lips. I smiled, and John slowly came
up to me. I wrapped my arms around his neck, and he wrapped his arms
around my waist, and embraced me.
"I was so worried about you," he said, his voice full of concern.
I echoed his own thoughts, and said, "I missed you so much." We
broke the embrace, and kissed each other very deeply. We parted
several seconds later, and embraced again. I decided I was just going
to stay like this for as long as possible, enjoying the feeling of his
body next to mine.
John pulled away from me, and at the same time Laura pulled away
from Chris. "We need to head off, we have class tomorrow." I smiled
at him, and then at Laura. She and I were more alike now that we had
these special abilities that no one else had. Perhaps that would make
our friendship closer than before. I smiled thinking about this,
because it seemed to bring great comfort. Laura opened the door, and
snuck out, with John following right behind her. The door shut, and
Chris and I were both standing there watching it. Finally we turned
towards each other and smiled.
"So my brother is dating my best friend?" I asked in tone of
playful accusation.
He blushed and shook his head, "Yeah, I guess so."
I smiled at him, and wrapped my arms around him, "it's cool."
"I was really worried about you," he said softly.
"I know," I said. I pulled back from him, and stared directly into
his eyes. "So you seem to know Tony."
He sighed, and his gaze dropped to the floor. "Let's just say he's
the one that sent me looking for a new path in life."
I nodded, and turned my gaze around, looking at the room. I
suddenly realized that two days had passed since I had been taken, but
it only felt like a couple of hours.
"Do you think we've seen the last of him?" I asked, wondering if
this could happen again.
"No," Chris replied, "I don't think we have."
"I think it might be hard for you to find a job with your name and
all," I said pointing out the obvious. "John has a friend who helped
me get a new identity and stuff. With your trust fund though you
shouldn't be too bad off."
"Yeah," Chris said, "I think I might be taking you up too. What did
you say your last name was?"
"Davids," I said, smiling. "Why, thinking that might suit you?"
"Yeah, I could go with Davids," he said smiling back at me.
I laughed, and hugged him again. We held each other closely for the
first time in awhile. When we were both younger, and brothers, we
didn't really express feelings for each other like this, mostly
because we were guys. But now that I was a girl, things were
different.
"How bout Sean Christopher Davids?" I teased. "That way we can
still call you Chris."
"Sounds good," he said.
End of Story 2
