"Yes, it's every other Friday and it's a very cool club, although I'm kind of biased because I helped them get set up and know the guy that runs it. It's happening tonight and I know of a great restaurant nearby and everything will be fine. Trust me, I've given tonight a lot of thought and besides, I'm not going to take 'no' for an answer from you when you're wearing my collar, so let's go!" "Uh... OK. I mean yes, Aurora!" I felt very nervous about going out but it was clear that Aurora had the night planned out and I was going along no matter what. So after loaning me one of her coats, she wrapped a long purple cloak around her and we headed out for the evening! I was pretty scared on the walk to her car in spite of Aurora's assurances, but everything went well, and after a short drive, she parked her car and we walked about a block and a half to a brightly lit sushi restaurant on a corner. The place was packed and I wondered how long we'd be waiting before we were seated, but Aurora mentioned her name to the hostess, saying we had a reservation and we were instantly escorted to a booth with a nice view of the harbor. We set all of our stuff on the seat next to me and settled into our seats. I still had not completely relaxed and felt like nearly everyone in the restaurant was staring at us! That thought made me acutely aware of how short my dress was! I tried to pull the hem down a bit and turned myself a little towards the inside of the booth. After a couple of minutes, our waitress came over and Aurora ordered a selection of sushi rolls, edamame, some soup, plus a pot of green tea. We nibbled on the beans and sipped the tea and soup while we waited for the sushi to be served. When they arrived, Aurora looked at me and gestured with her chopsticks toward the plate of rolls I'd selected. "Now Ruby, be sure to take small bites, chew your food very well and drink plenty of tea and water. When you're wearing a corset as tight as yours, you need to be very careful when you eat or you could end up with some serious medical trauma!" We were quiet from that point on, just enjoying the food and I followed her advice and nibbled on the sushi rolls and beans, making sure to chew everything thoroughly and taking lots of sips of tea and water. "Well Jennifer, who was on the early shift in the coat check room, quit last week so that needs to be covered, and we're short a waitress and while Tanya is incredible, she's still only one person! And on top of all that, Lexi was my primary stage manager, so those are really where I need help." Aurora gave me a squeeze and a quick peck on the cheek. "Ooooo! I would love to see my sweetie cruising around as a cocktail waitress, but that seems a bit much considering this is her first night out! Covering Jennifer's shift should be a snap, so she could work the coat check booth and I'll help out backstage and then we'll see what else you need. So don't worry Vic', we'll get you through the night!" Victor then led us into the club through the side door, gave us both staff passes, and set me up at the coat check booth before he and Aurora headed towards the main stage. It was pretty straightforward - a bunch of playing cards had been cut in half and I clipped one part onto whatever was being checked and gave the other to the guest. It gave me a chance to talk with a lot of the people and the time seemed to fly by! Several people mentioned seeing Aurora and I arrive and I found that, by association, I'd become sort of a minor celebrity as there was apparently a bit of a buzz about "Aurora's new girl!" Eventually, a hot-looking rockabilly gal named Tiffany came by and told me she was scheduled to work coat check for the rest of the night. It didn't register until then that I'd been working for almost three hours! Not sure of what to do next, I wandered through the club trying to find Aurora and eventually found her backstage helping a group of models who were part of the main event for the night - a corsetry fashion show. She got paid by the guy at the head of the table and, after taking orders at another table, headed back to the bar where she paid the money to the bartender. Well, I was at a club in the city a while back and noticed they had a bunch of computer stations set up where people could get on the 'net and surf around and even stream shows! It was plain that they were really popular! So with that in mind, I wanted to set up a few stations on each floor and have one computer running them all, but the tech that started it all bailed out for a job in Austin before she really got started. So is that something you could do, Ruby?" "Sure, I've set up servers and LAN's like that dozens of times and know just what equipment to order. From the looks of this place it would take eight to ten stations, plus a server and then running a network backbone through the building. I have a good line on computer parts and could probably get everything pretty cheap. I'll put together a proposal and you can see if it works with your plans." "Thank you so much. I had just dropped Victor's card in my purse when I felt another tug on my leash, letting me know that Aurora wanted us to leave. I followed her, waving at Vic' as we went. Once we got back to her car, we had a rather quiet drive back to her house. It had become pretty routine, with Tanya and I splitting the club up. Her voice sounded a lot calmer than I could have managed. She looked toward Tanya. "Tanya, Ruby and I need to leave right now! The two guys that just walked in are friends of Ruby's, but they don't know about HER, if you know what I mean. Are you okay for the night?" "I'm fine 'Ror', it's been pretty quiet so far, and I'm guessing it would be awkward for them to find out about Ruby? I got ya'. Give me a minute and I'll distract them and you two can make your getaway! However, you guys totally owe me for this!" She looked around the bar and spotted where my friends were sitting. "Whoa! His name's John, but he likes to be called Johnny or J and we've known each other since we were like ten years old. He's one of the coolest guys I know" "He's a major cutie, too! So give me a minute to welcome them and all that jazz, then you guys should have a chance to sneak out and I may settle for an introduction as a repayment!" Tanya gave us each a quick peck on the cheek and headed out with her latest tray of drinks. Once we saw her get to the table where Johnny and Marco were sitting and it was clear that their attention was totally on her we snuck out the side exit. Fortunately I had stashed my purse and coat behind the bar so we avoided having to walk by the coat check room. Once we got to Aurora's car and began driving to her place, we both finally relaxed. "Well, I have some big plans for you for the evening and we'll need quite a bit of time to prepare you. So take your clothes off, fold them up nicely and put on the kimono I laid on the bed, then come meet me in the kitchen." "The kitchen?" "Yeah, I set up a little transformation station there. This is going to be a very fun night!" She walked out of the room and I started getting undressed. I slipped on the kimono Aurora left out for me and joined her in the kitchen, where she had set a chair out for me. She also had poured me a glass of wine and I took a sip as I sat down and she began gluing long black fingernails onto my hands. Once those were in place and drying, she began working on my hair, explaining that she was giving me some black extensions, plus adding some blue and white ones as well for some extra color. She weaved them into my hair and it seemed to take forever! Aurora mentioned that it actually had taken longer than she'd planned, but reassured me that we had plenty of time as it wasn't even seven o'clock yet. When she finally announced she was finished with my hair, she began applying my makeup. Once again she took her time, especially on my eyes, and when she was satisfied that I was finished, she urged me once again not to look in any mirrors because it would "spoil the suprise." She then handed me a rather large flat box with a big silver bow on it. There was an envelope with a card in it and as I took the card out of the envelope, I nearly dropped it when I saw the front of it! It was a photo of Aurora dramatically made up and wearing a long, purple dress that was either rubber or PVC and the tallest heels I'd ever seen! She was holding a riding crop in one hand and the lacy, satin collar she'd made for me in the other. My hands were trembling as I opened the card and read: "Happy birthday, my sweet Princess.
