I raised my hands and stood there, thinking desperately, hopelessly. Could I escape? He would certainly sound an alarm, and I would be hunted. Women with magic would join the hunt, and that would be the end of me. What if I were to cooperate? The man probably didn't know for sure who I was; I could be any woman from the outlying villages. But they were looking specifically for me; I couldn't fool him for long. Maybe my best course would be to charge straight at him and hope he would shoot me; I would die without facing Moranna's plans for me. But even with all hope gone, I kept thinking of the possibility of escape. I stood there without answering his challenge. Then suddenly, from the woods behind me, I heard an almost silent "Twang." I barely saw the arrow flying, but I saw its effect: the guard grunted and fell. I whirled around to see who had saved me--or who was going to be my next captor. A tall man stepped out from behind a tree. Could it be? He stepped closer. I fell in a faint when I recognized him. I came to in his wonderful arms. "Marcus! What are you doing here?" It seemed a rather inane question, and I was embarrassed I had asked it. I was even more embarrassed for fainting--no real warrior would do that! But oh! I was glad to see him there. He held my head and looked at me with a mix of grave concern, relief, and--was there something else in his face, too? "I have to ask you first, Marisa. What are you doing here? The whole Council is in an uproar. Some of think this is proof they shouldn't have let you live." I blanched at that, and opened my mouth to protest, but he kept going. "I've been tracking you since we discovered you were gone. Thankfully you didn't seem to be trying to cover your tracks. I'm actually a little surprised at that." "Marcus! I'm just so glad to see you! I was just about to rush that guard. I was hoping he would kill me so I wouldn't have to face Moranna again." "I'm glad I was here, too. Again, I ask you, what are you doing here?" His voice was growing stern. "Marcus!" I felt an impulse to wail his name, but checked it. "I came here to get some of my magic back." His eyes gripped mine darkly; his jaw grew visibly tight. "I want to get my magic back so I can heal Jakob!" This time it was Marcus who almost lost control. "You came here to -- you're taking this risk for -- for my son? Are you being honest with me?" "Yes, Marcus. I'm not deserting the Council, but I couldn't stand to see Jakob in that kind of pain another day. Don't you understand?" It was a plea, not just a question. "Of course I understand, Marisa. You know how it hurts me, too." "Yes, and that's one more thing I couldn't bear to see another day. I..." I was about to say I loved him, but something in his eyes, in the way he released his embrace of my head, held me back. He sat in silence a long time; I gathered myself up to sit on the trail near him. His face and eyes were working in a visible mix of grief and hope, and something that might have been either anger or fear. "You can't do it, Marisa," he finally said, and I knew it was one of the hardest things he had ever said. "It's not worth the danger. Your life could be ruined, and our dreams for your help would be dashed." "I've thought through that, Marcus. I've spent my whole life fighting for my own glory and gain. I want to fight for someone else this time." I was just a few feet closer to the end of the path than Marcus was. "Tell the Council they can trust me!" I said, then quickly stood up and strode out into the field among the strawberry harvesters. Marcus tried to catch me, but I was in the open before he could reach me. I knew he would not call out for me; he would put both of us in real danger if he tried that, just as we would have been had he used a gun on the guard. (I was impressed with him for thinking ahead to bring a bow.) I left him with the dead body of the guard, confident he would figure out the best way to dispose of it. Joining the farm workers was easier than I had expected. Apparently they had no reason to question my presence. If anyone had seen me walking out from the woods, they must have assumed I had done it with the full approval of the guard there. The group was a large one, perhaps a dozen women and a handful of men, and I felt confident I was inconspicuous among them. They laughed and chatted all the way to the center of town. I heard my own name mentioned once. "Do you think they'll ever find this Marisa woman?" "I've heard she could be more dangerous than Moranna. I hope she's dead!" "I don't know--don't you think that story might have come from Moranna herself? Maybe this new woman will be the one who will rescue us?" "Rescue us?" The speaker laughed. "She didn't come here to rescue anyone, she came to take over. At least Moranna put a stop to that! Would you want someone like her in charge? Do you know who she used to be?" I hung back to the rear of the crowd after hearing that. They were speaking freely, as among trusted friends. If I were noticed as a stranger it could mean trouble. We were passing landmarks--a fountain here, a sculpture there--that told me we were within a mile of the castle. It was time to look for a place to hide out. I started now to inspect myself for signs of the violet aura returning--the aura that would signal success, that would provide me with the magical cover for a safe return. It wasn't showing up yet, but it should be soon, I thought. We passed a farm market. Many, but not all, of the stalls had been closed down for the day. I stepped aside from the crowd that had provided me safe entry into the city center, and wandered among the stalls as if shopping. More of the booths closed; the market was becoming nearly deserted. A number of crates were jumbled behind one of the tables. I looked around quickly, saw that no one was looking my direction, and ducked down under the table and among the crates. A minute passed, then five, and no one came looking for this strange woman hiding in the market. A smile began to grow on my face, along with a most unfamiliar sensation: tears of happiness and relief. I had made it! If one night was enough to regain some power, then the rest of my mission was as good as accomplished. My quarters were cramped, but I had spent many nights in worse conditions than these in the field, and with a less limber body. There were even scraps of fruit within reach, and I still had the last of my water with me. If I had stayed awake overnight, my gladness would have increased all the more, for my violet aura was returning. As it was, I didn't realize it until the noises of the morning awakened me. My first task was self-protection. I had thought it through, and I decided it was time to give my powers a try. "No person or animal will notice my presence, not by sight, sound, touch, or smell, nor by anything that I touch or move, nor by any kind of magical working, under any circumstances until I say out loud, 'I am revealed'." I rose and stretched, and tested the effect by walking by a market booth that had just opened. "I'd like to buy some strawberries," I said. The man obviously hadn't seen or heard me. I walked to another booth, picked up some greens, and began to eat. Nobody reacted I felt a small pang of conscience for taking the food, but was greatly heartened to have confirmed my magic was working. I could stay here all day safely now. My main order of business was simply to stay and recharge, but I wanted to check on my army, too. Where would I find them? I couldn't ask, although just for fun I walked up to several people and said, "Excuse me, can you tell me where Moranna put my men?" I fairly giggled at the lack of response I got. I had more fun with it. I told one tough-looking man that his was undoubtedly the ugliest dog I had ever seen. I leaned down and growled at the mastiff. I walked up to a soldier and said, "My dad can beat up your dad!" Sure, it was juvenile, but really, how often do you get the chance to be invisible? I wasn't the least bit embarrassed at myself for it. It helped relieve some of the tension of the last few weeks. I couldn't remember ever being so carefree and playful. I had to be careful walking in the streets, though; I could easily have been run over by a car, or walked over by a large man, and they wouldn't even notice it. I also took advantage of the chance to dress as I liked. I had worn the farm worker's outfit with distaste, out of necessity. Now I clothed myself by magic in a deep blue dress and a tasteful set of jewelry. I had no one to appreciate it, but at least I felt better that way. I styled my hair in long loose curls down my back. I considered going to the castle, but I had no idea what I would do there. For the first time, I regretted making my visit to the city without the full information the Council could have given me. I didn't know enough about the Orb, I didn't know how to neutralize Moranna's power--or the other magic women in her trust--and perhaps most importantly, I knew nothing about the Prophecy they kept alluding to. It was hard to say, without knowing what the Prophecy actually said, whether it was something to be trusted or if was just a superstition, but it seemed to be something I should know more about. I wandered the city for hours looking for signs of my army. I was forced to conclude they were in the castle. That was another piece of intelligence I wished I had already received. At least I could accomplish my main purpose here; there would have to be a return trip to the city another day. With any luck, I would still have magical protection on me when I came back. I really didn't know how long I would need to stay in the city to get a sufficient recharge of my magic, but I hoped that two nights would be enough. It would do my relationship with the Council no good if I extended my stay overlong. My second night was considerably more comfortable than the first. I lay down in a small park and magically commanded the ground to be as comfortable as a bed, and the air around me to be as warm and dry as at home. I set up wards around me so that no one would stumble over me unaware, and so that no animal would disturb me. I slept the deep sleep of contentment and relief. That was it. Having recharged myself, my job in the city was done. I started back home early the next morning, well provisioned with supplies I had gathered at the market. I was hoping I could make it back in a day. For once I would not be held by caution to a slow speed. I was climbing the hill north of town, enjoying a mouthful of fresh strawberries just picked from the same field through which I had entered. Up the path I climbed, and then onto the stony areas. I chose a new, more direct route home, since I did not need to pass by my surveillance point again. It would have been well for me to stick with a known path, though, for the loose stone under my feet became gradually more and more of a challenge. I tried to choose larger, more well-planted rocks to cross. One of them turned out to be round and loose, however. It rolled out from under my feet, and I fell down the hillside, rocks bouncing down after me, with a dropoff not far below. I was in no real danger even in this rockslide, of course. I simply used my magic to protect myself from bumps and scrapes and fractures, and then to stop my fall and halt the rockslide. "This magic sure is useful!" I said to myself cheerfully. I didn't realize what it had cost me to stay safe. The sky was red and dusky when I finally reached Marcus's home. He was standing outside, looking toward me; but of course he did not see me; the magic was still hiding me. I could tell he was looking for me, hoping and waiting for my return. I could have walked right up to him and appeared before him out of nowhere. That would certainly be amusing but it would be too cruel of a trick. Instead, I stood behind a tree, spoke the words I had prepared, "I am revealed," and stepped out to greet him. He gave a yelp of surprise that turned to joy, and ran to me to give me an enthusiastic embrace. "I was so worried about you, Marisa! I'm so glad to see you!" I cried tears of joy. "I'm so glad to see you, too, Marcus! But I really can't wait to see Jakob!" "You think you can heal him?" I nodded with a huge smile. "Jakob!" Marcus called out. "I have a surprise for you!" Jakob's eyes were obviously curious as we entered his room. "I haven't told him what you went to the city for," Marcus whispered. "Good," I answered. "It will be a wonderful surprise for him, then!" Jakob seemed bewildered by the huge smiles on my face and also his fathers. "I have a surprise for you, Jakob! Let's see now, let's start with your feet. That's okay, I'm not going to laugh at you. I have something much better for you." Jakob slowly, hesitantly drew his malformed feet out into my view. I held one in each hand--the first time he had ever let me touch him so. I wondered if he might know what I was about to do. I looked at the yellow aura on his feet, and commanded, "Return to normal!" First the yellow faded, then Jakob's feet changed shape. Unsightly brown fur retreated as skin returned to a normal flesh color. Toes poked out. A heel formed, and an arch. Jakob's eyes grew large. His mouth dropped open; he was too stunned at first even to smile. He looked up at his father, then at me. "Is this real?" he asked. I nodded. Jakob stood up, tested his feet, walked a few steps, then leapt, and leapt again, shouting for joy with each step and jump. The three of us held each other and danced together for joy as Jakob, for the first time in two years, stood and walked on his own two feet. In just a few moments, Jakob held out his misshapen hands to me. "Can you fix these, too?" I had never heard any boy so happy, so excited, in all of my life as a man or a woman. I myself may never have been so happy before. "Yes!" I cried. "Show me those hands!" He held his dog's paw hands out to me, and I took one in each hand. Marcus and Jakob stood silent, breathless, waiting, watching. And then wondering. I was saying nothing. "Well, come on, Marisa, don't make us wait!" Marcus said. I frowned. It wasn't working. He looked at me with consternation; Jakob danced a step and said, "Hurry up! Hurry up! I can't wait!" I dropped my arms, releasing Jakob's hands. "I can't," I said simply, and my tears now were not for joy. "You can't? What do you mean you can't?" demanded Jakob. "It's gone." My flat tone conveyed more disappointment than any cry of pain could have. "It's gone? How can it be gone?" demanded Marcus. "It's just... gone. I guess I... maybe I didn't stay long enough to get enough magic. It's gone now; the last of it went away when I healed his feet. I didn't know..." I looked at each of their eyes, fearing what they would say or do, fearing they would hate me for raising their hopes and then dashing them. "I-- I think I know what happened," I said. "I had to use some of my magic on the way back. I slipped-- there were rocks falling-- I would have gone off a cliff. I had to use my magic or I would have died. There wasn't enough left to.... " I was unable to finish the sentence as I crumbled to my knees and sobbed. Jakob ran from the room. Marcus followed him. I was alone.

Orb and Prophecy Concluding Chapters Orb and Epilogue

"True TG," where TG fiction meets reality. Episode 12: Orb Hope dawned purple at last on the fourth morning. Patience had paid off: my magic aura was beginning, faintly, to glow again. Richard and Alise had been marvelously gracious hosts in our confinement, and I had apparently learned something valuable about just waiting. It was yet a few days later before I felt strong enough in the magic to actually use it. I didn't dare just cancel the magic wards on the street; that...

Orb and Prophecy Decision Part 7 of about 13

"The first thing you have to learn," said Marcus, "is how not to fight in that body. You're going to have to unlearn some of what you used to do as a man. I don't have to tell you what's different; you just need practice." We were standing among bales of hay in an unused barn, about halfway between Alwyn's and Marcus's homes. I had my hair tied back for training this morning, but at least I didn't have to wear that unsightly kerchief on my head that I wore on the street, or soil my face...

The Sidereus Prophecy Part 8

From the author: Thanks so much for sticking around through what amounts to three medium-length novels. The outpouring of support for the story and most importantly the enjoyment I received in writing it has encouraged me to write again. I can't say it will be as long as the Sidereus Prophecy, but this won't be my last TG-themed story. Thank you again for reading. This is the second last part. Next week, I will post part 9 and the epilogue. DISCLAIMER: This is a work of fiction....

Orb and Prophecy Mission Part 8 of about 13

I was aiming for that horrifying place where I had met Moranna, where I had been so greatly changed. Of course I hadn't told anyone I was going, they never would have allowed it; but I had to go--I was on a mission. I was pretty sure I would recognize and remember the terrain from my trip out to the village. I knew I had to head southeast, and even though nothing looked familiar, I still had my old instincts for finding my way around in the field. The capital city, like the island, was...

Orb and Prophecy Departure Part 3 of about 13

(Asterisks around text indicate the character's thoughts) Bright morning sunlight informed me of one more thing I had lost in my bodily transition: for the first time in years, my internal alarm had failed me. By the height of the sun I judged it to be about midmorning. Departure today was a necessity. I would have preferred to leave under cover of darkness, but I could not wait for night to come again. My guarding spells appeared secure on the doors and windows still, but I...

Master PC Mind MagiChapter 4 Law and Prophecy

"Make your presentation to abolish the First Law, Mr. Setton," directed Lord Morehouse. I nodded. "My presentation is fairly straight forward. As you all know, the First Law was established to help prevent the first sign of a long ago prophecy. A prophecy that told of some unknown doom, disaster or change. The Mind Magi of the time took the steps they felt necessary to help, but they could have never foreseen that anyone would willingly or unwillingly go against such a law. It was simple,...

Orb and Prophecy Completion Part 2 of about 13

(Note: asterisks around a section indicate the character's thoughts.) In an unfamiliar city, in an unfamiliar body, I raced blindly through streets and markets, past small homes, in and around small market crowds, little noticing the stares that followed me. My only impulse was to hide, to be safe, to find a place to escape this sudden nightmare. Navigating unfamiliar territory had been my strength as a warrior, but nothing had prepared me for this. I felt acutely the height of my...

Orb and Prophecy Part 1

The guards walking before and behind me were impressive. They should have been--they were my men, I had chosen and trained them well. Now, through some incredible turn of events, they were acting as my captors--my own men! What on earth was going on? It was not the men with their weapons, though, that impelled me into the great hall, but an unseen, unknown force that made my legs move regardless of what I wanted them to do. My will was not my own. The room was crowded, mostly with men,...

Orb and Prophecy Routine Part 5 of about 13

Alwyn led me down a short hallway, then left me alone to rest and to settle in. The room she offered me was brightly decorated, the bedspread and curtains blooming with daisies and petunias in a variety of colors. The flowers lifted my spirits in a way I found surprising. The closet gave me an even bigger surprise: Marcus had not been kidding when he told me someone was bringing clothes from my safe house in the city. Many of my new creations were there. I immediately exchanged my shorts...

Orb and Prophecy Riddles Part 4 of about 13

"You have much to learn about being a woman, Marisa." The older woman spoke it as a gentle warning. Marcus had brought me to a cottage at the foot of a rocky hill, the home of his friend Alwyn, and left the me there with her. As he walked out my eyes lingered after his tall strength. I wished he would stay. Alwyn's thinning white hair and deeply lined face betrayed years of struggles, which I supposed had mostly been against Moranna; yet her deep, bright eyes radiated a serene joy. The...

The forest of Labrador was calm as usual. Bird chirps could be heard from far away. Various animals were seen in every corner. The peace was overwhelming, but not for the two companions. They made a camp two miles away from the village. Around them were thick walls of trees of the Labrador forest. The day was pretty hot for an autumn day. Arcanum of Steamworks and Magick ObscuraIn Which Our Hero is Ensnared in Prophecy

November 1st, 1885 The elven city of Quintarra swayed beneath my feet – moving and groaning like Edward Teach’s ship at the high seas. I gripped onto the thin rope that served as the only security as the elven woman Raven led me from the base of the platform leading to the residence of the Silver Lady to the front entrance itself. Raven was, despite her earlier smiles, a woman that seemed to be quite severe in temperament. The earlier flare of sunny disposition had vanished beneath the...

Arcanum of Steamworks and Magick ObscuraIn Which Our Hero Escapes from Prophecy

March 26th, 1886 I sat on one of the pews in the First Temple of the Panarii and looked at nothing in particular. There seemed very little point to moving myself from where I sat – and there was no better place to sit and think than here, in the quiet of the temple. The building itself was large and rectangular, with enough room it seemed for the whole city of Caladon to take their seats here to be lectured at. However, other than the sheer size of the place, it remained fairly...

Pansexual Prophecy

Pansexual Prophecy What Sexual Equality May Augur for the Future By Cal Y. Pygia Because women are physically weaker than men, they are subject to men; to gain a measure of equality, they must act through men; to act through men, they must control men. They control men through men's desire for sex. Sex is a means of controlling another (or others), especially for those who otherwise lack strength or power. For men, sex is often an end unto itself, whereas, for women, sex...

Andrea Standing part 2 of Andreas Stand

Andrea Standing (part 2 of Andrea's Stand) A note at the beginning. One of the problems with writing a serial story is that the author feels a need to recap what happened in the prior portions. Please go back and read part 1, "Andrew Running". It will make this a better story. Briefly Andrew at 19, abused by his father, runs away to a distant relative, Aunt Clara. Andrew goes along with a joke played by Clara's lover Marnie, and ends up as Andrea working in Marnie's luxury used car...

I slid the report into the proper file just as he walked into the room. Dennis Butz stood there wearing his three-piece suit, looking as handsome and charming as any man could. But I was not to be tamed by his charm. "Hello, Linda," he said with a friendly grin. "Judge Herns isn't in today," I replied back in a frosty tone. "I'm not here to see her." When one met with disaster in the storm, the other picked up survivors and as much wreckage as it could. The shield is the only piece of wreckage that signifies Persian identity. Andrea On Her Own Part 3 of Andreas Stand

Andrea On Her Own (Part 3 of Andrea's Stand) A Note Before: If you have not read parts 1 and 2, please go back and do so. I have spent some time trying to develop the characters involved and a brief description of the plot so far will not help you much. Chapter 1: Needing More I leaned back in my chair and stretched. It had been a long hour and a half finishing the homework from my calc. class. As I stretched I felt the sweater pressing against the breast forms and glanced...

Andrew Running Part 1 of Andreas Stand

Andrew Running (part 1 of Andrea's Stand) Chapter 1: Running I called my Aunt Clara from the bus station. She didn't seem that surprised to hear from me and when I explained why I was there she told me to walk a couple of blocks to the local diner and get myself a cup of coffee. She'd pick me up in about half an hour. I sat and sipped chocolate milk and tried to eat a pastry while I glanced nervously out of the window waiting for my father to show up and force me into his...

The Ancient ProphecyChapter 9

The Crystal Tower would never be the same again. The once-majestic tower was now standing in the middle of a wasteland that stretched far across the Northern Continent. The very same tower was now the gateway of the realm of Lore to the cursed Underworld, realm of the demons. Supreme Commander Daemon sat uncomfortably on his throne. He was extremely displeased. He was displeased with the result of battle at the Dark Elven Stronghold in Elom. He was displeased that a sure victory had suddenly...

The Ancient ProphecyChapter 13

"You are all my guests. Please sit down. Forgive me for the bad furniture." The Warriors of the Guardian were quite hesitant at Lord Falagor's kind request, but obeyed once Atrus and Anna sat casually on the nearby tree stump. The small hut supported only simple furniture, mostly made from timber from the nearby wood. Even though the furniture was simple, the room was cozy. The small hut only had two exits, one led to the bedroom and the other one out. There was a small fireplace on the...

The Ancient ProphecyChapter 14

Prince Roberto of Aragon, the future heir of the kingdom, stood beside the bed of King Edward of Aragon, his father. For a moment he was silent. It hurt him to see his father like this. The old king was sleeping; the not-so-peaceful expression in his face reflected the mortal sickness he was suffering. King Edward had been sick since the war with the Undead. While doctors and healers from across the land couldn't determine the sickness, they all agreed that the king had been carrying...

Amity 5 CataclysmChapter 27 Prophecy

-- Storm - Amity - Earth time: 2102 -- I’ve decided to write a journal of my life to date. I’ve taken a bit of author’s licence and collected the narratives from others to help put the last two years in context. This first chapter is a summary of the first year here as it was covered more in depth in my previous diaries. The rest is about the second year in my new home. Since we will soon start a new year, it seems a good time to do it. Much of what has happened since I arrived on the...

Second Time Through Book IChapter 39 Sandys Prophecy

A few minutes later, Julie was at my elbow with Jason. "Michael?" she said tentatively. "They want you to come back. Please!" "What?" I responded, surprised. "The Kapaemala's. They want you to come back. Please. For me," she pleaded. "For you my dear, always," I said as I smiled warmly at her. I followed Jason and Julie back to the Kapaemala's table. Gerald stood and pulled an empty chair from an adjoining table and motioned for me to sit down. Julie and Jason remained...

Island of Hernando Rodriguez

He watched them as they sat sipping their colorful drinks and flirting with male guests and hotel employees alike at the Garden Cloud Lounge. They were undoubtedly four sisters, all in their late twenties and thirties, and attractive. They were obviously American, and they laughed as they tried what little Spanish they knew on the young waiters. He had seen groups like this many times. Their often affluent husbands allowed them to have "Girl's Time Off" now and then. It worked out on both...

The Sidereus Prophecy Part 1

A WORD FROM THE AUTHOR: This story is my thank you to a community that has provided me free fiction for years. It is also my first story (and probably my last), and I will warn you- it is long. My intrepid editor, Robyn Hoode, slaved through the drafts of the story, providing insightful and helpful commentary. His enthusiasm for the subject material kept me motivated. Honestly, without him and his constant feedback, this story wouldn't exist. So, if you enjoy this story, you have him to...

Andersonville 25 Dr Jensen I presume part II

I stood there in my black dress watching them slowly lower the casket into the ground. Standing next to me was my mother, who was weeping softly. Next to her was my sister Jennifer, and she seemed the saddest of us all. Perhaps she was remembering her own mother and father's funeral who had both died when she was just a young girl. On the other side of the casket I could see Crius standing next to Dennis with an impatient frown. He seemed so out of place, and the expression on...

Candys Dandy

by Millie Dynamite Jaden and I meet a few weeks after he transferred to the Naval base just outside of town. I sat on a bar stool sipping my Pappy Van Winkle when this tall African-American man in full dress uniform sat next to me. He whore captain’s bars. He possessed an air of authority. I nodded to him when perched on the next stool. He returned my nod with his own acknowledgment, in a deep voice he said, “Yo.” He spoke without looking at me. “I’ll have bourbon, make it a shot of Evan...

RunChapter 35 Refresh and Recharge

Lauren’s pussy felt sticky when she woke the next morning. She hadn’t moved in the night, and if her brothers had, they were roughly in the same positions, curled up against her, heads on her chest. She smiled at the warm feeling she had, remembered the lovely moments the three of them had shared in the night. Her clit rose as her body relived the sensations of her brothers’ cum splashing inside her vagina. A soft knock at the door was followed by, “anyone up?” Hannah’s voice. Lauren tried...

Armand Wilson sat in his home office/study sighing. From the office, things had looked pretty good; business was on track, and Sharon appeared to be handling her new situation well. But in the car on the way home, Armand began getting bad vibes, and when he arrived at his mansion, things were even worse. Everyone on staff was walking around as if on eggshells. CANDY FINDS HER SON HANDY AND DANDY

by Oediplex 8==3~ The sweetest mom discovers her boy is both convenient and delightful. [She also recounts when her dad fucked her at nineteen!] Like the name of Madame DeVille's moniker, Cruella, some names fit the personality they are bestowed upon. Disney came up with that evil woman's apropos handle. My mother's folks named their only child, a daughter, Candy. This was shortly before the infamous 1968 movie was out. Though there were aspects of mom that paralleled the...
