Halloween Delight; Part one:
When I was young, I was only allowed to play in the basement. The
upstairs was off limits to me as a play area. I could play in my room,

was to small for me. Not wanting to return it, I just threw it away. I

a long shore man. I said I didn't have an idea but would think about it
some more. Stu then looked at me and said:
"I have an idea for you."
"What is it? I asked.
"You could dress up like a dance hall girl," he said.
"What, you can't be serious," I said.
"I sure am. Don't you see, if you dress up like a girl, no one with think
it's us. It's perfect."
I just looked at him, Carl didn't say a word. I wanted to do this so bad,
but didn't want them to make fun of me.
"I don't think I could do that," I said.

"You really think it's a good idea? I mean, you won't make fun of me or
anything?" I asked.
"Heck no, its Halloween, it's a costume, right?" they both said.
"Well of course it is, I guess I could do it," I said, thinking I agreed
to fast.
"This is going to be great, now remember you need to go all out and it's
got to be everything," Carl said.
"What do you mean by that?" I asked.
"Just what I said, everything you put on has to be girly. You know, a

want anyone going with me, cause I had everything already.
Within no time Halloween was here. I did end up going to the mall to buy

On the morning of October 31st, I was so excited I couldn't sleep past

I was fussing with my make up when the phone rang.

"I can't wait for tonight. It's going to be a lot of fun," Carl said.
I figured since he'd given me a female name for the day, I might just

"That's cool, did you get everything you needed?" he asked.
"Sure did, and then some," I said.
"Really, what do you mean?" he asked.
"That's for me to know and you to find out," I teased.
"I just might do that, STEPHANIE," Carl said.
"Well you can try but it's not like you'll be able to see them," I said.
"See what?" he asked.
"I'm not going to tell you, silly." I was having some fun with this. I
figured I might never get another chance, so I was going to make it last
and enjoy it all.
"Ok fine, listen, Stu and I are going to meet for lunch and we'd like you
to join us?" he asked.
"I can't," I said.
"Why not?" Carl asked. "We want to plan what we are going to do tonight
and we want you there."
"Well Carl, I'm already in my outfit and I really don't think I should go
out till later," I said.
"You mean you're all dolled up already, why?" he asked.
My reply was brilliant.
"I didn't know how long this was going to take, so I got started this
morning. It didn't take as long as I thought, but I don't want to undo it
all and then start over, if you get my drift."
"I understand, so, how do you look?" he asked
"Well, I would say, if I didn't know any better, that I was a girl
dressed up like a dance hall girl from the old west," I said.
"I can't wait to see you. Hey, you can go to lunch with us, it will give
us a chance to see if anyone knows it's you," said Carl.
"I don't think so," I said really wanting to go out, but not wanting him
to know that.
"Come on it's Halloween, a lot of people are out in costumes already, so
even if someone spots you, it's Halloween, so what," he said.
"No Carl, I don't want to," I whined.
"Well I want to see this, so I'll come and get you," he said and hung up
the phone.
I was happy and scared at the same time. I had been out before sure, but
never done up the way I was now. I sat down at my kitchen table and
waited for Carl to show up.
Within 15 minutes, he was at my apartment. When he knocked on my door, I
jumped. I was really scared now, my heart was beating so fast I thought
it was going to jump out of my chest. Then he knocked again.
"Come on, open up, I know you're in there," he said
I walked to the door, I could feel my dress and petticoats sway from side

put my hand on the door knob and opened the door.

"What do you mean by that?" I asked a bit put out.

"OK, great, since we have that settled I think we can have a good night."

drive home a point.
"Understand what?" I asked.

rather sternly.

center of the living room, he then sat down and with one motion, put me

"I thought you said we needed to talk," I asked.
