Andrew had a pretty normal calm life. He went to high school, wasn't
failing any classes, and had 2 friends who were always there for him. All
was well in his life... and that was precisely the problem.
Andrew: *sigh*, "everyday I wake up and it's the same thing. Sometimes I
just wish something...anything would happen"
Mom (from outside room): "Andrew? it's time for school, you need to come
down and eat."
Andrew: "yeah, yeah, I'm coming"
He went down the stairs and past his mom, she greeted him warmly but all
he could manage was a grunt for a reply. He poured himself a bowl of
Cereal and ate in silence, keeping eye contact with his parents to a
minimum. he went back upstairs and looked himself in the mirror, his short
brown hair was a mess from sleeping on it. He went through his morning
routine like a robot going through a program it had run a million times
before. Once he finished he splashed some water on his face, rubbing the
sleep from his blue eyes. He took one final look at himself in the mirror
before heading downstairs, grabbing his things, and heading out the door.
His school was only a few blocks away so he walked there. He moved to the
right of the sidewalk as a man in shorts and a T-shirt jogged by him,
Andrew wondered to himself how someone could get up and run so early in
the morning. He finally arrived at his school and scanned the front lawn
before finding what he was looking for, a blond haired, green eyed girl
who was staring at a piece of paper in her hand and a brown haired, gray
eyed boy who had spotted Andrew first and was waving at him, Andrew walked
up to the pair and dropped his backpack to the ground
Andrew: "hey John, hey Claire, what's up?"
The Girl looked up from her paper and turned to face Andrew.
Claire: "hey Andy"
Andrew: "I told you not to call me that."
The boy dug through his pockets and took out a piece of paper similar to
the one Claire held in her hand.
John: "Claire and I just got our new class schedules."
Andrew: "I picked mine up yesterday, lets if we got any classes together
this semester."
Andrew reached into his backpack and took out a third piece of paper and
the three of them huddled up and compared their schedules

The three of them looked quite surprised by the results.
John: "...wow, we got a lot of classes together, me and Andrew in
metalworking, both of you in English, all of us in math and me and Claire
in bio."
Claire: "that's.... odd"
Andrew grabbed the paper from Claire's hand.
Andrew: "now what's this? Home Ec?"
Looking slightly embarrassed she grabbed the paper back from him.
Claire: "my mom is forcing me too, she says I have to learn to act more
like a lady"
John put his hand on her shoulder and looked her in the eyes.
John: "you're perfect to me babe"
she blushed again, and smiled.
Claire: "thanks Johnny"
Andrew stepped between them before John could lean in for a kiss.
Andrew: "hey! You guys promised no getting all gross and romantic in front
of me"
Claire: "ohhh, what's the matter, jealous?"
Andrew took a step back.
Andrew: "of course not!"
he quietly said to himself, "well, maybe just a little"
John: "what was that?"
Andrew: "huh? Uh, nothing."
It was then that the school bell rang and they all went inside, after
making a stop at their lockers, Andrew and John went into Shop class. It
was a typical first class, where the teacher gave boring speeches and
nothing was accomplished, they never even got use any of the tools and
during the whole class John was talking about Claire whenever possible.
The next class was English, and much like in Shop, his friend that took
the class with him was more interested in their love interest then the
class, unlike Shop however, the teacher got started on the class right
away and he even had a sizable amount of homework to do that night. They
reunited with John in Math class, which seemed to go a lot like English.
Fortunately, Math was the one area in school Andrew excelled in, and he
finished the homework assigned during the lunch period. His last class
went by very quickly and before he knew it the bell rang and school was
over.
He walked home and quickly finished his English homework at his desk
downstairs. He a ascended the stairs and went into his room, he paused for
a moment as he passed by his guitar, leaning against the wall. He thought
about practicing for a while but he shook his head and moved on. The
remainder of his evening was spent watching TV and reading a collection of
American comics and Japanese manga. He flopped down onto his bed and
thought of going to sleep when his cell phone rang, he answered quickly
Andrew: "hello?"
Claire: "hey Andy"
Andrew: "oh hi... I said don't call me that!"
John: "hey, I'm here too."
Andrew: "oh hey, what's up?"
John: "not too much. You?"
Andrew: "eh, just sitting here thinking"
Claire: "hehe, Andy is being emo again."
Andrew: "I am not an emo! I. Just got some problems to deal with"
John: "chick troubles?"
Andrew: "nah, nothing like that."
John: "well cheer up, the comics I ordered finally got here today?"
Andrew: "seriously? Awesome, I'm going to have to go over and read them
tomorrow."
John and Andrew share a passion for comics and mangas, Andrew likes them
for the small escape from reality they provide and John likes them for the
action. Claire however, does not share that passion.
Claire: "bleh, I'll never understand what you guys see in that crap."
Andrew: "that's because your tiny brain can't comprehend it's greatness."
Claire: "whatever, I'm going to bed, see you both tomorrow."
John: "yeah I'm to catch some sleep too, night."
Andrew: "night."
He turned off his phone and put it on a nightstand next to his bed. He
lied there for at least half an hour before sleep slowly began to claim
him. He let himself slowly drift off towards sleep, but just before that
happened he opened his eyes again. Gone were the walls of his room, and in
their place was never-ending darkness. His bed was gone too, and he stood
up quickly. Despite the lack of light, he was able to see himself
clearly,
and in the distance he thought he saw another person
Andrew: "hey! Over here!"
The figure turned and walked over to him, as it got close, he saw it was a
girl, the same age as him roughly. He knew he had never seen her before
in
all his life, yet she looked so familiar.
Andrew: "what is this? A dream or something"
Girl: "Maybe, that would explain all this"
It was driving him crazy, everything about this girl seemed so familiar,
he finally couldn't take it anymore.
Andrew: " I know this is going to sound weird but do I..."
She looked up at him; her blue eyes stared back at his.
Andrew: "... know you?"
It seemed like she was getting closer and closer, until all he could see
was her bright blue eyes, and then the blackness of her pupils. He awoke
quickly as his alarm went off. He rubbed his eyes and turned off the alarm
clock, and was surprised to see it 30 minutes earlier than it would
normally go off at.
Andrew: "first that weird dream and now this? The hell is going on?"
He went out his door and down the hallway to the bathroom, where he
splashed water on his face. He took a towel and rubbed his face dry and
looked up at the mirror.
Andrew: "what the hell?!"
He saw the same girl from his dream in the mirror; he quickly looked
around him, but he was the only person in the bathroom.
Andrew: "wait a minute..."
He looked down at himself and realized that wasn't a different person he
saw in the mirror, it was himself.
Andrew: "how did... what... huh!?!!?"
