Emma Hackett shivered with fear on the trolley to which she was bound,
her thoughts racing through her head.

"Are you all ready," Sergeant Howard said over his radio. "On the count
of three...two...one...go, go, go!" At once his officers battered down
the main door with a battering ram and charged in with their batons

unit in case of armed resistance. Those who they met made no attempt to
fight and were quickly handcuffed. The Sergeant headed down to the
basement where a group of masked surgeons, fully prepared to operate,
were about to anaesthetise a girl with long red braids.
"Police-stop right there. I have reason to believe as an officer of the
law that you are about to carry out a sex change operation against the
subject's will, and so you are all under arrest. You do not have to say
anything but anything you do say may be taken down and used in evidence.
Handcuff them and take them down to the station to await questioning,
once their lawyers have arrived of course." He untied the straps and the
sobbing girl thanked him over and over again. "What's your name?"
"Emma H...no, George Fletcher."
"George Fletcher...the one who stabbed William Davis and James Owen to
death when he was only ten, and that the press said was going to be set
free on probation with a new identity. I didn't know that the new
identity was going to be a female one. Are you sure that the operation
was against your will?"
"Yes...it was. They have no right to do what they did to me...they forced
me to dress and to act like a girl and seduce a boy online. And they were
going to fucking castrate me..."
"I know the stress you must be under, but don't swear in front of me or
I'll have to arrest you for a Section 18 offence, swearing. I also know
what you did, but it was my
duty to rescue you from an illegal , cruel and unusual punishment. Who
else is imprisoned here?"
"Alexander MacKay and Martin Vinal, we would use our old names in secret.
Their new names are Sarah and Jessica, I don't knew their new second
names."
"Tell me everything that has happened here."
After learning what had happened and ordering his constables to search
the building, Alexander was found locked in a cell but there was no sign
of Martin. Sergeant Howard led his convoy of police cars and a van filled
with the suspects back to the station where he found his Inspector
waiting for him. "Sergeant, get into my office, now."
"Why didn't you get my authorisation for a police raid? You took every
officer I had to spare and several crimes happened that I had no officers
to send to."
"I rescued two young men who were going to be forcibly feminised..."
"You accidentally interrupted a top secret operation that was ordered at
the highest level of the Government. I had two high ranking members of
MI5 come to the station to tell me about it. Operation Princess was an
attempt to stop high profile male offenders who committed their crimes as
juveniles and who therefore cannot be given an adult life sentence from
reoffending, and at the same time saving the state money by finding
people who will unknowingly become their boyfriends."
"By forcibly changing their gender? How is that possibly going to
rehabilitate them? And it's totally wrong. When the press gets hold of
this..."
"They won't. A deal has been made with the two that you freed from the
program. They will be given male hormones to restore them to a fully male
state, be set free on parole, and be given a choice of keeping their old
name and risking a vigilante attack for what they did aged ten or getting
new male names, with strong advice that they take the latter option. In
return they will stay totally silent about what happened to them during
the program, unless they want to be recalled to prison for the crimes
they committed that got them put in the prison in the first place. Can
you imagine the hubbub that would be raised in the media if they
uncovered the true story?"
Sergeant Howard nodded.
"If the press ask you what happened, you will tell them that you rescued
two juvenile girls from a gang that was holding them hostage, and that
the girls were under 18 and so their names will not be given out. Oh, and
if the news does get out and I found out it was you, you will be drummed
out of the force. Do I make myself clear?"
"Crystal. By the way, I heard there was someone else who was not rescued
in time."
"I do not want to hear any more of this, as far as I am concerned the
matter is closed. Oh, and those who you arrested turned out to be
Government employees and have been set free, but it saves you and your
men from having to do the paperwork as the arrests officially never
happened. The next time you want to lead my officers on a major raid you
must let me know in advance. Go back to your duties, Sergeant."
The new Jessica McCann saw the report on the news, and guessed what had
happened. She picked up the phone to call the press and tell her side of
the story, but unknown to her, it was bugged, and a team was sent out to
silence her.
