Chapter 2
When I got home my Mom was in the kitchen fixing supper. She asked how
the meeting was and I told that it was great fun and that I wanted to
go again next week.
"Well I don't know if you should make a habit out of going to the
Brownie meeting. It's really for little girls, honey."
"But Mom I had so much fun with Tammy and Diane, they're my best
friends, and they want me to be a Brownie with them and go to the
meeting every week," I pleaded.
"I don't know, but we'll talk it over with your Dad when he gets home
from work. I'm not sure I should have let you go today without talking
it over with him. He might have a different opinion than I do. Mike,
why don't you go put your knapsack and stuff in your room. Daddy
should be home soon."
"Oh, I almost forgot, we made cookies and everyone took some home to
their families," Mike said. He carefully retrieved the cookie bag
without letting her see the underpants.
"Wow, that was close! What if Mom had emptied my knapsack like she
usually does and discovered my Jockey shorts in there. How would I
explain why they were in my bag and what was I wearing in their
place," Mike thought.
After giving the cookies to his Mom, he went upstairs to his room.
Mike put his bag on the bed and took out his underpants. "Gosh," he
thought, "they really feel a lot rougher and bulky compared to the
panties Diane had given me. I wonder why they are so different." Of
course Mike knew something about why the panties didn't have an

Mike heard his Dad arrive home from work and heard his Mom call him to
come for supper. He went downstairs to see his Dad. He was so

Supper was good as his Mom was a pretty good cook. As usual Dad asked
Mike how his day went at school and, as usual like most first grade
students he said that he liked recess the best. "Well, Mike, did
anything else interesting happen today?" Dad asked. Mike gulped and
didn't know what to say. Did Mom tell Dad that he had attended the
Brownie meeting with Tammy and Diane? Should he tell him about it?
"I... uh... spent some time with Tammy and Diane this afternoon," Mike
stammered looking out of the corner of his eye at his Mom to see her
reaction. She looked a little surprised.
Just then Mom remembered the cookies I had made at Brownies and put
them on the table. "Well, honey, I didn't know that you got home early
enough to bake cookies," Dad said as he smiled at Mom.
"I didn't make them, Mike baked them," Mom informed him looking at
Mike as to say, "Tell him about the meeting, Mike" Dad looked at me
quizzically.
"Well, I... I... made them with Tammy and Diane at a meeting," Mike
replied hesitantly.
"Was it an afterschool meeting, Mike?"
"Yeah, kind of an afterschool meeting; it was at Mrs. Simmons' house
and..." with a gulp Mike said, "it was kind of a scout meeting."
"When did you join the scouts? I didn't know there was a group that
met near here and I didn't know that girls could join the Boy Scouts,"
asked Dad.
Mike looked down at his plate realizing that he needed to either tell
his father the whole story or keep trying to avoid the truth that his
mother already knew. Instead he burst into tears and ran up to his
bedroom. Dad looked at his wife and said, "What the heck is going on?
Why is he crying?"
Mom hurried out of the room saying, "I think I know; let me go up and
talk to him."
"Mike, can I talk with you a little about what's going on?" Mom gently
asked. Mike kept his face buried in his pillow, but replied, "OK." His
Mom had him sit up and she put her around his shoulder.
"You know, sweetheart, we're going to have to tell Daddy what has you
so upset. Do you want to tell him or should I?" Mom asked.
"Why do we have to tell him about it anyway? It's not like I did
anything really bad, is it?" Mike countered.
"Well, Mike, seeing as you burst into tears and ran up to your room
instead of answering his innocent questions, I think he's going to
have to be told that you went to a Brownie meeting today," she
reasoned, "So do you want to tell him or should I?"
"Please, you tell him, Mommy. I don't think I can tell him without
crying more and I just know he's going to be furious with me!" Mike
relented realizing that here he was sitting talking with his Mom and
he was wearing panties just like she was. Mike was worried and
thought, "Even if he doesn't have a problem with me going to a Brownie
meeting, he's sure not going to be happy finding out that his son is

Mom said, "OK, I'll tell but you need to come with me." Hesitantly
Mike followed his mother downstairs.
Mom started, "Bill, Mike asked me yesterday if he could attend a
meeting of the Brownies at the Simmons house with Tammy and Diane and
I told him he could if it was alright with Mrs. Simmons. So that's
where Mike was today where he made the cookies."
"I don't understand, Mike, why did you want to go to a Brownie meeting
and why were you afraid of telling me yourself?" Dad asked. "What's so
interesting about doing things with the girls? You're a boy and
shouldn't want to play with girls, at least not until you're much
older," he joked.
"I was afraid you'd be mad at me and I like to spend time doing things
with Diane and Tammy cause they're my best friends. I really want to
keep going to the meetings with them. Is that OK?"
"We'll have to think about it, Mike. Your Mom and I will talk about it
after you go to bed. OK?" Dad said.
"OK, Daddy," Mike replied relieved that the subject of Brownie
meetings went so well, but concerned about the fact that he was still
wearing Diane's panties and that he didn't think that would ever go
over with his parents. Mike told them that he was going to play in his
room for a while before bed, but Mom told him to clear the table and
help by drying the dishes while Dad washed.
While his Dad washed and he dried, Dad suggested that he and Mike
should do some guy thing together on the weekend. "What would you like
to do Saturday, Mike," Dad asked.
Mike felt like telling him that he'd really like to go to Wilson's
Department Store and buy a Brownie uniform for him to wear to next
week's meeting, but instead he just shrugged his shoulders and said
that he didn't know. Dad said that they'd have to put some thought
into it and after they were finished Mike went upstairs to play for a
while.
About 7:30 Mom called up for him to get undressed for his bath. Mike,
as usual, delayed getting undressed as he was playing with his teddy
bear telling it all about today's adventures. He didn't hear the
footsteps coming up the stairs so he was still completely dressed when
his Mom came into the room and said, "Let's go, Mike, get undressed
right now! You need to get your bath and get to bed. Tomorrow's a
school day you know." She went over to the window to close the drapes
and was upset when Mike just stood there. How could he get undressed
with his mother in the room when he was wearing those panties?
"Right now, young man, off with those clothes! No more delaying!" she
pronounced. "In fact I'm not going anyplace until you're undressed and
in the tub. Let's go, chop-chop!"
"I can't get undressed with you here," Mike pleaded, "I don't want

"Mike, I'm your mother and you're six years old, now get undressed!"

what was to be revealed next he burst into tears again. "What in
heavens name is wrong, Mike? What's wrong? Why don't you want to take

Sobbing Mike said, "It's not the pants that's wrong but the underwear

"What do you mean? Don't you have on the underpants you left home in?
Let me see right now!" she demanded feeling herself losing her temper.
Shaking his head with shame he slowly undid his belt and slipped his

front. "Where are your Jockey shorts that you left home in?" his Mom

"I put them in the hamper after I got home," he answered.

"Well after the meeting while we were walking home I was sad that I

offered to take me to Diane's and try on her uniform. In order for the

When I put them on they felt so neat that Diane suggested that I wear
them home and that I didn't have to return them. Please don't tell

"I think I have to tell him, Mike, because it's not good for us to
keep secrets from each other," Mom explained. "Now you put those
panties in the hamper and get in the tub and I'll think about how I'm
going to tell Daddy."
Mike took the panties and walked naked down the hall to the bathroom,
filled the tub with water, took his bath and went to bed dreading what
would happen in the morning.
Chapter 3
Mike woke up the next morning thinking he had had a bad dream where he
was caught by his Mom wearing girl's panties, Then, with a shudder, he
realized that it wasn't a nightmare, but something that had actually
happened the night before.
Mike got dressed for school with trepidation. He was careful to put on
his Jockey shorts, but he wished that he had a clean pair of panties
to slip up his legs. In fact he wished that he could get dressed this
morning in panties, dress, kneesocks and a pair of Mary Janes (or what
ever they called those neat shoes that Diane and Tammy often wore.)
Realizing that plan was out of the question he donned his usual boring
old shirt, pants socks and sneakers and slowly went down to breakfast
hoping that no one would raise the issue of a six year old boy
returning home wearing pink panties when he left wearing boy's
underwear.
Dad was reading the morning paper and Mom was filling her coffee cup
when Mike entered the kitchen. Dad looked up from his paper and said,
"Good morning, Mike; did you sleep well?"
Mike warily replied, "Yeah."
Dad asked him to sit down after he got his orange juice and cereal. "I
don't pretend to understand what is going on, Mike, but I want you to
know that your Mom and I love you very much. That being said we think
that we want you to stop going to the Brownie meetings at least until
we sort this out some. We don't understand your desire to wear girl's
clothing, but we'll talk with a counselor at school about it to see
what, if anything, we should do. Do you understand? Do you agree?"
Mike was relieved that he didn't appear to be in trouble like he
thought he was going to be, but he was upset that he wouldn't be able
to attend next week's Brownie meeting. "But why can't I go to the
meeting with my friends?" Mike asked.
"Because the Brownies is for girls and you're not a girl, you're a
boy!" Mike's Dad answered, "You should be doing boy things. Maybe we
should get you involved with sports like baseball like other boys."
"I hate sports! I'm no good at them and the boys laugh at me all the
time," Mike countered. "Please let me go to the meeting; don't make me
play dumb sports that I'm no good at."
Mom asked, "Mike, is there more going on than attending the Brownie
meetings? Does it have anything to do with dressing up at Diane's
house and wearing her underwear?"
Mike sheepishly nodded "Yes".
"Do you want to wear girl's clothes, Mike?" Mom asked.
Mike's eyes lit up as he nodded, "Yes, I'd really really like to."
"OK, Mike, then I think we need to set up a meeting with a counselor
in order to decide what is best for you and for the whole family," Dad
concluded. "In any case it's time for you to leave for school."
Mike got his knapsack with his books and left to meet Tammy and Diane.
When he got to Diane's house Tammy was already there and they said,
"Hi, how are you?"
Mike filled them in on his being found out wearing Diane's panties and
eventually telling his parents that he liked wearing girl's clothes
and that they were going to talk to a counselor about the issue.
"I don't understand why everyone gets upset when boys wear girl's
clothing when we can wear whatever we want and no one gets upset. What

argued.
"Well I certainly agree with you, Tammy, but my folks don't feel that
way; except not right now. Maybe they'll change their minds after we
meet with a counselor," Mike replied but inside he didn't think things
would turn out the way he felt they should.
As they continued to school Mike's thoughts turned to how he could
convince everyone that he should be able to dress like a girl and, of
course, attend the Brownie meetings every week.
