Synopsis: Rob reconciles with his step-sister after the birth and
adoption of her baby.
It was several days later when Christine came home from the hospital.
When she came in from the garage I noticed that she was walking a little
gingerly, as if she were sore or something.
Without really thinking, I blurted out, "Congratulations! Boy or girl?"
and she immediately burst into tears. As June helped her up the stairs to
her bedroom, Dad gave me one of the dirtiest looks I'd ever seen on a
human face. "Sorry," I said, "didn't think." And that was the truth - I
really hadn't - I really wasn't trying to hurt her feelings or anything.
Even though she was home, Christine seemed to be really depressed. On
many days she wouldn't come out of her bedroom till the afternoon, and
when she did come downstairs she'd usually just lie down on the couch in
the family room and stare at the ceiling. A couple of her friends from
school stopped by at first to spend some time with her but she didn't
want to see them. And when Dad or June tried to engage her in
conversation she'd just grunt some short reply and turn away from them. I
heard Dad and June talking to each other about how if this continued that
they'd have to get some psychiatric help for her.
I was beginning to feel pretty sorry for her. Like, a year ago we had
been anything but friends but I still hated to see her feel so down. I
think one of the worst things was that her breasts were still producing
milk and she had to use this breast pump thing on them three or four
times a day to empty them. Christine isn't shy when she's pumping her
breasts, she just does it wherever she happens to be when it's time -
pretty much ignoring her surroundings or who else is present in the room.
So there have been a number of times when I've seen her doing it - now,
It's not like I'm a peeping tom or anything but when she starts doing it
when she's sitting on the couch next to you it's pretty hard not to
notice. The first time she pulled down her maternity top (she's still
pretty big and her regular clothes still don't fit her) to expose one of
her breasts, I was amazed to see how large and swollen her breast
appeared and how big and puffy her nipple was. As she placed the cone of
the pump over her nipple and began to squeeze and release the rubber bulb
I could see a pale white liquid begin to fill the plastic container. I
don't know what was going through her mind but as she was looking down at
the pump sucking the milk from her breast there were tears streaming down
her face.
In bed that night I kept thinking about how Christine's breast and nipple
had looked and how she had to use the pump to remove her milk and that
got me so turned on that I had to jerk off.
It was New Year's Eve and Dad and June were going over to some friend's
house for dinner and then to play cards before midnight. I'd gotten
invited to go over to Joe's house along with some of the other guys for a
poker game but it was snowing pretty heavily, and I remembered how the
card game had turned into a beer party last year that left me with a
really bad hangover for a couple of days, so I turned down the
invitation. I had spent most of the afternoon up in my room, just doing

something to eat. When I walked into the kitchen I glanced over into the
family room and saw Christine, sitting on the couch with a woeful look on
her face and just staring at the snow swirling outside past the sliding
glass doors to the patio. She looked so, well, so alone, that I wanted to
do something to cheer her up.
"Hey Christine, I'm going to fix something for supper. I was thinking of
pancakes or waffles. Do you want me to make some for you?"
She just turned her face slowly to me and said in an empty voice, "I
guess."
Well, what the heck, if I couldn't cheer her up it wouldn't be for lack
of trying, so I went all out. In addition to the pancakes I scrambled a
dozen eggs, fried a pound of bacon and two pounds of sausage links, and
brewed up a large pitcher of hot chocolate. When all the food was ready I
cleaned off the coffee table in front of the couch in the family room,
brought over plates, napkins, mugs, maple syrup and silverware, and then
spread the plates of food out on the coffee table. "Dig in!" I said.
Christine just looked at me for a moment, and then slowly took a small
helping of food on her plate. Finishing that she went back for a larger
second serving, and soon the two of us were chowing down as if we hadn't
eaten in weeks. After about 45 minutes when we'd consumed most of the
food and all of the hot chocolate, we both leaned back on the couch and
just breathed a sigh of contentment. That was when I realized that
Christine was crying.
Oh-Oh. What had I done now I wondered? "What's the matter?" I asked.
"Nothing's the matter," she replied. "You've just done the nicest thing
that anyone has done for me in the last six months."
"Oh, I know it's been tough, but ....." I started to say before she cut
me off.
"You have no idea. I know getting pregnant was stupid. But the girls that
I thought were my friends started treating me like some sort of stupid
bimbo. And the boys acted like I was some slut who would spread her legs
for any guy that came along. Did you know that one of your friends called
me up and offered me $5 to give him a blowjob?" And with that she began
to cry even harder.
I guess that I wasn't even thinking at that point as I slid over against
her on the couch, put my arm around her shoulders, and pulled her head
down against my shoulder as her body was wracked with sobs. It seemed
like she cried for house before she stopped and I was surprised when I
looked up at the clock and found that it hadn't been quite thirty
minutes.
"And now see what I look like," she continued in a soft voice, as she
lifted the bottom of her maternity top and picked up her still large
belly with both hands and shook it a little, sending ripples through it.
"And I look like some kind of a cow up here," as she cupped her large
breasts through the fabric of her maternity top.
"Yeah? Well, welcome to the club," I said as I lifted up the bottom of my
shirt to show her my rounded tummy bulging out over the top of my jeans.
And then I unbuttoned my shirt and opened it up to show her my boy boobs
poking out through the tight T-shirt that was only partially restraining
them. "You think I'm not beginning to look like some kind of a freak?" At
this point I was almost ready to cry myself.
Christine just looked over at me and then leaned over and kissed me on
the cheek. "I think you're cute," she said as she playfully rubbed my
tummy.
"You're more than cute," I blurted out. "You're hot!" And then realizing
what I'd just said, I blushed a bright red and continued, "Uh, well, in a
brotherly sort of way, of course."
Trying to change the subject of the conversation I continued, "So, you
want to see if there's anything good to watch on TV - other than Dick
Clark, of course?" We found a couple of movies that seemed halfway decent
so we turned down the lights and Christine snuggled up against me on the
couch and we talked and watched TV as we watched the snow build up
outside on the patio. I guess we must have fallen asleep for when Dad and
June came home around 1:30am or so, Christine and I were both sitting on
the couch, sound asleep and with her head on my shoulder. I remember June
waking us up with a funny look on her face, to tell us that she and Dad
were home and going to go upstairs to bed. Christine and I got up and
groggily went up to our bedrooms.
When I woke up and came down to the kitchen the next morning June asked
me if we'd been feeding an army last night.
"Feeding an army?" I asked.
Well, from the number of dirty dishes and the nearly bare refrigerator,
it looks like someone was doing some serious cooking last night."
"Oh, well, I guess we were kinda hungry," I replied.
"Well there's a little food left. You want me to fix you some breakfast?"
"Uh, no, I think I'll wait till Christine comes down. We were talking
about maybe going to the mall to do some shopping and stopping by the
diner on the way for breakfast."
June's jaw just dropped as she stared at me.
