Part 10
Here I am, sitting here in a deep funk on a sofa in my bosses' house,
unsure of where to go or what to do next. And the worst part of it is
that I lied to my mom, who raised me and has always been my close friend
and confidant! The tears were flowing as I began to pray about what to
do. Just then I wished I was back home in my mom's old church, listening
to the choir and feeling all is well with the world.
Oh how I wish I could be there right now.
Then I heard someone coming down the stairs, and knew that Ms. Jennifer
was coming back into the living room. I had no idea or energy to try and
deal with her right now and whatever revenge she had in store for me.
"Beth, are you okay?" was what she said to me. All I could do was simply
rest my head on her shoulder and cry for what seemed like a really long
time.
I truly felt like I was teetering on the edge of a knife, with any slight
movement whisking me away to life as a man again or life as a woman for
all of eternity. Again I was feeling so vulnerable and unsure of most
everything. Most of all, I was afraid. Afraid of being me, whatever
exactly that was.
And just where should I go next? Back to my dorm to face ridicule? What
about my classmates? Should I leave school? But then what would happen to
the job that I love?
For me, it was good wonderful to have Jennifer there. Even though she
could be harsh with me, she had a soft side too and I loved her for that.
What I needed right now was someone stronger than me to help me through
this. And Ms. Jennifer would never disappoint in the strength category.
Jennifer sensed where I was and, as it by instinct, started to set me
straight.
"Beth, you should stay here tonight. Why go back to the dorm when you
start your day at The Women's Place and just have an afternoon class to
go to? "That way you can go to your first class as Beth, then head back
to the dorm and change back into some of your old things if you want.
That will help some of those judgmental jerks at who call themselves
social workers have time to adjust to you. Oh, and if you want I can call
your teachers and let them know about your new life as Beth and help the
other students accept you better. If you would like me to."
I thought about what Jenn said, and agreed that spending the night here
with her would be good. And that if she did call my teachers to give them
the heads up, that at least my teachers would know and could help try and
protect me from being teased or even hurt. That move might backfire, but
if I'm going to become a female student at this College, then I will need
all the help that I can get.
Ms. Jennifer made one more suggestion, but the way she said it seemed
more like a command: "Beth honey, you do owe me a lot of money and you
need to pay me back somehow. The first way you can do this is to clean my
house up one day a week, preferably on a Saturday. You could come
Saturday mornings and clean all day, spending Saturday night here it you
would like. I know you don't have much of a social life so it's not like
you'd miss a date on Saturday night, anyway. This will start today. I
expect you to clean the rest of the kitchen, living room and dining room,
especially that filthy toilet, then clean out one of the spare bedrooms
and make it your own as much as possible. The upstairs bedroom down the
hall has a Tiffany bed in it that might suit you. That bed was mine when
I was a young woman.
After you're done cleaning but before you go to bed tonight, see me and I
can help get you organized and ready for your big day at work tomorrow as
the full-fledged woman that you are becoming.
There was little I felt like I could say except for "yes ma'am". Besides,
from the first moment I had stepped into her house, I just wanted to
clean everything and get it organized and tidy. Thart's just how I am,
whether I'm a boy or a girl.

I didn't have to be at work until 8:30, but I made sure I was up at 6am
to get the day started right. After a hot shower where I shaved my legs
and pits again and used Jergen's peach body wash, I toweled off and began
to turn myself into Beth. I'm so thankful that my beard was barely
visible as it was and I could cover it with a base coat and foundation.
Ms. Jennifer was up early as well and helped me with my hair, which was
kind of short but culy and in some ways resembled a Ginnifer Goodwin
"pixie" look, like Peter Pan with light bangs to frame my rounded face.
Some product carefully applied kept everything in place without it
looking frozen in place or crazy stiff.
After that, my new paisley colored bra with Jennifer's special pads place
just right to give my breasts a bit of a "bounce" when I walked. After
sliding up my nude Spanx into place and tucking myself with a Maxi, I
could easily put on my new high waisted panties and then a half-slip for
good measure.
Now it was on to my face makeup, the hardest thing for me to learn how to
do. Here I just let Jennifer work her magic, and oh my did she ever! The
eye liner and lip liner were laid on thick, too voluptuous for my tastes,
but what was I to do? She was helping me shape my new identity as Beth.
When I looked in the mirror, I was pretty excited at what I saw.
I felt a sense of power and giddiness when I thought what a man might
think of me now in my new makeup!
Next I applied my conservative mauve blouse, mid length beige skirt, and
light button down raspberry sweater. After sliding on my brown leather
pumps, my look as an overly attractive but shy and modest secretary was
nearly complete! Of course I had forgotten to eat anything, and Jenn
offered me an English Muffin with light butter on top and a dash of
strawberry preserves.
Just then I recalled that my multivitamins where upstairs on the
nightstand, and I went to go get them. But Ms. Jennifer said that she
thought it better if I start taking the same pills she takes, vitamins
for women that also help with what she called "hormonal changes" that she
said I will be going through.
Since I had no reason to doubt what she was saying, I gulped all four of
those large pills up with my orange juice. Ms. Jennifer said that, to
really help me stay energized throughout my days as a woman, that I
should keep taking these pills twice a day if possible. After thanking
for her the pills and packing my lunch, I fixed up my lipstick, grabbed
my purse, and was ready to go. I couldn't help but smile when Jennifer
said that I "look lovely". She really made my day when she said, "now you
really Are going to be One of Us!!"
