Billy nodded to his buds when he finally arrived in Jack's basement.
Stan, Forest and Kyle were rockin' out to Rock Band on the Xbox, Tanner
and Donny were chillen next to a new member of the group. Billy
recognized the new guy as Amos, the new kid in school.
Billy kept an impassive face, but inwardly he groaned, hoping it
wouldn't happen again tonight.
"HEY Billy, What's Up my man?" Tanner called from his spot on a couch
arm.
"ROCK!" Kyle yelped hitting something good on guitar, the trio were
short a singer but seemed to be doing alright.
Tanner tossed a cola to Billy. Billy snagged it, popped the top and
chugged down some of that carbonated goodness. He sat on the couch arm
opposite Tanner. Donny and Amos were on the couch seats, taking up three
spots.
Donny saluted Billy. "Teacher keep you after school again?"
Billy shook his head. "Had a project to check on in the west wing."
Kyle called out, "In what, that Home Ec. class yer taking? Man what a
girl you are."
Billy shot Kyle daggers, but Kyle pretended not to notice, instead
concentrating on his plastic guitar playing.
Billy looked down at the new kid, but Amos seemed closed-up and hadn't
taken notice of the exchange. He was quiet and not in a talkative mood.
Billy wondered who brought him, not that he'd object to new blood in
their brood, but new people did tend to make everyone...
"Wanna here a joke?" Donny suddenly asked Amos.
The three playing Rock Band missed a few beats, their attention suddenly
drawn to the couch.
Billy shot the three a glare and they went back to playing, each
sporting a hard-closed mouth, trying not to grin.
"Uh..." Amos replied. He could feel something was up but didn't know
exactly what.
"A blonde walks into a shop and asks the staff to help her find a T.V."
Donny started. "She finds one and says, 'can i buy that tv please?'."
Billy covers his face as Donny continues, "The staff guy says, "no
because I don't serve blondes.' So the blonde says, 'wait here,' and she
runs out of the store. The blonde dies her hair black and comes back to
the shop and says, 'can I buy that tv please?' The staff guy shakes his
head 'no, I don't serve blondes.'"
Donny cast a glance at Billy then focused back on Amos, though he kept
stealing glances at Billy. "Now the blonde with brunette hair is getting
confused; so she goes and dies her hair red and comes back in and says,
'can i buy that tv please.' The staff guy again says, 'no I dont serve
blondes.' So the blonde turned brunette turned carrot top asks in
frustration, 'why do you keep on calling me a blonde?' The shop staff
guy looks at her and says, "Because, you keep pointing at a microwave!"
Billy bit his lower lip. He needed to maintain his composure. The joke
wasn't funny. It wasn't funny.
"Hey," yelled Kyle, "I got one. Why does Snoop Dog always carry an
umbrella?"
"'fo Drizzle," snapped back Tanner.
This time a snort escaped from Billy. He needed to regain his composure.
Already he could feel his clothing slide a little against his skin. His
shirt feeling a little bigger and his feet slipping in his shoes. His
ears were a little tickled by hair that was a little longer than normal.
The three playing Rock Band had given up all pretenses of playing
anymore. They were staring happily at Billy as the young man tried to
keep a straight face.
"I got this," Donny said. "How do you tell the difference between a
chicken, four Irishmen and a kangaroo with boxing gloves on?"
Everyone paused to consider the answer. Amos started to offer an answer.
Amos: "Is it..."
"MY ASS!" Donny interrupted. Causing giggles from most of the boys
present.
That did it for Billy too, he burst out laughing. His voice switched
octaves mid-laugh and his clothing collapsed around a suddenly slighter
body. His hair sprang outwards and downwards turning from jet black and
straight to dark brunette and curly, his proportions shifted from semi-
muscular teen boy to developing teen girl. Billy's face was pinched in
laughter and tears. Her features softening and becoming more feminine.
Finally Billy regained her composure and looked around at everyone. The
normal crew had smug expressions on their faces. They loved putting
Billy through this, but normally respected that he didn't like it.
However for the new guy they just had to show off.
Billy looked around, still with a smile and a laugh, and then she looked
down at Amos.
The new kid's jaw had dropped as he watched Billy transform from guy to
gal. Billy felt a little sorry for the kid. It must have been a little
disconcerting at the least.
So Billy scooted down the couch arm to sit right next to him. There
wasn't enough space for her so she half sat on his lap.
"It's ok," she reassured him, touching his hand to show that she was
real. "It only happens to me, nothing will happen to you."
"But...uhh..." Amos said trying to keep his eyes up and focused on
Billy's eyes instead of the cleavage the former boy now sported.
"...how did this happen?" Billy finished for Amos. "It's a long and
silly story, but for now, I'll just say I've got a girly laugh and leave
it at that." Then she stood up and grabbed the microphone to join the
three playing Rock Band.
