There were three levels below us, and at each landing we met with opposition. But nothing that stood a chance against us. At each level one of the four following me would stay to hold that level. As Sassy and I reached the fourth I burst through the fire doors to find Chaos. The opposition was headed toward one room. We paused a moment as Hacker lifted Cord?s lifeless body over his shoulder. I noted that Hacker too was pretty badly wounded. I couldn?t get through the grief roiling in Taffy?s mind. As those who had followed, helped us fight our way out across the garage. Then seeing someone she recognized, Taffy leapt out over the rest in full Rage before I could grab her. "Shit," I breathed. It was the last Delta 4, and he wasn?t alone. They opened up letting her charge in deeper before we could reach her. I was almost to her when I felt it, I barely grabbed Sassy in time to stop her maddened charge. Carlotta grabbed Hacker, as someone else took over carrying Cord. As we went through the motions and exercises I counted the number of Free Alpha?s. Nearly a hundred were here, and twice that many Cadets. Then I saw Myumi off to the side.
