Girl Fridays
Belladonna
The car came to a stop as Vern Lowry pressed down the brake and put
the vehicle in park. He pulled off his black sandals and slipped his
black, opaque tights covered feet into the pair of 3? inch high heeled
pumps he had placed into his pocketbook that morning. Vern smiled at
the shoes as he buckled their thin ankle straps.
Once he finished buckling the shoes, Vern lifted his wife's black
aviator sunglasses off his nose and checked his appearance one last
time in the rearview mirror. He then reached for the handle of the
car door and pulled it open, careful not to lose one of his press on
nails.
Swinging his legs out the door together, Vern stepped out of the car
and closed the door behind him before he placed his keys into his
pocketbook. The cool autumn air blew up the A-line skirt of his black
and white, tweed knit dress as he walked towards his office, which he
knew was already filled with his employees.
With confident steps, Vern strolled towards the standalone, suburban
office building that had been converted from an old ranch house. Vern
grabbed the railing as he carefully ascended the three steps of the
porch before he pushed the front door open.
"Hello, may I help you, Miss?" Vern's receptionist asked before he
smiled and pulled off his sunglasses.
A grin came across Cate's face while she asked, "Is it that time of
the year again?"
"Yes it is girls," Vern replied confidently as Lucy strolled up next
to Cate.
Cate shook her head with a laugh as she turned to a laughing Lucy.
The girls' laughter brought the rest of the office out into the
hallway.
Vern smiled as each of the five women who worked for him came out to
greet him. Vern exchanged salutations with the girls before one of
his secretaries said, "I love that dress. It makes you look so
pretty."
"Thanks, Rose," Vern replied with a grin as he touched the bateau
neckline of his dress, unsurprised that it was Rose who made the first
comment about his outfit. She was the second youngest of his
employees and, easily, the most outgoing.
None of the girls was particularly surprised by how he looked. Vern
had cross-dressed at work the prior three years on Halloween. While
the first time, the girls had laughed about it and teased him, the
second year made the girls realize that there was probably something
deeper to it.
By the third year, the girls concluded amongst themselves that Vern
was certainly a cross-dresser. The girls largely shrugged it off and
laughed about it amongst themselves, but they did not let it preoccupy
their minds or drive their opinions of their boss.
Vern's easy rapport with most of the girls and sympathetic ear to
their troubles made that easy. The girls knew he had effeminate
traits, such as displaying empathy for them and enjoying joining in on
their gossip, so they treated him no differently than the two female
managers that worked beneath him, Anna and Charlotte.
Anna and Charlotte were both quieter than Rose was. Besides Vern,
they were also the only college graduates in his office. They
directly managed the managers of his subsidiary companies, whose
offices were spread out across the region.
Charlotte was the quieter of the two, but even she could not help but
get in on the fun when Vern was cross-dressed as she noted, "I've said
it before, Vera, you really are the perfect size to be a model."
Vern blushed at her comment and waived it off with a laugh. The other
girls had noted that his 5'11," thin frame was perfect for modeling
clothes before. It was something that was not lost on him, but he was
slightly depressed that he could not do much about it.
"Vera, is that lovely bag from the Miss Shirley Lowry collection?"
Rose then asked.
Vern nodded in response to her comment, knowing that his wife would
not miss the bag from her closet since she had left for work before
him, and, typically, got home after him, given the hours demanded by
her job in the city.
One of the girls asked him another question that Vern answered before
he gently admonished them that he was not paying them to stand around
all day and gawk at him.
"How can we not gawk at those legs?" Rose retorted to the girls'
laughter.
Each of the girls laughed, with the exception of Anna. Vern was
unsurprised by that since Anna seemed to be the only woman in the
office who was uncomfortable around him when he was in drag.
Vern knew that she felt that he was a pervert for his cross-dressing
tendencies. The first time he did it in the office, Vern could sense
the loss of esteem that he suffered with her.
It was not something that bothered him though, since Anna never tried
to undermine him with the rest of the girls and continued to do her
job well. Consequently, Vern did not concern himself with her
personal opinions or judgments about him.
Vern strolled towards his office door and took off the jacket he had
worn over his dress that morning. He hung it up behind the door
before he headed towards his desk and turned on his computer.
After signing onto the company's computer system, Vern began to do
some work at his desk. A little more than an hour passed before Vern
called out of his office, "Rose?"
"Yes, Vera," Vern heard Rose reply, sounding as if she had been
waiting to give that response from the moment he entered his office.
"Can you get me a cup of coffee?"
"Absolutely," Rose replied, more chipper than usual as she got to her
feet.
Rose smiled as she walked into his office and took hold of the coffee
cup on his desk and asked, "You want it the usual way, right?"
Vern gave Rose a queer look before he asked, "What other way would I
want it?"
"I don't know, I thought maybe you'd change it up a little ," Rose
replied with a grin.
Pointing to his false bust, Vern replied, "I think this is enough of a
changeup for the day."
Rose shrugged with a smile as she walked out of the office carrying
Vern's coffee mug. Vern turned his attention back to his work while
Rose prepared the cup of coffee for him.
A few minutes later, Vern heard a knock upon his door. Vern looked up
at Rose and motioned for her to enter.
"Here you go, Vera," Rose said while she placed the drink down on the
table before him.
Vern shook his head at her, as Rose used the name that the girls had
come up for him en femme. While he always preferred to call himself
Clarissa en femme, he was not willing to bring it up to the girls.
Thus, he just went along with the name the girls had saddled him with,
just like the first name his parents had burdened him with so many
years earlier.
Vern thanked Rose before she started to walk out of the room. As she
reached the doorway, she turned around to ask, "You're not going to
sequester yourself in your office all day, are you, Vera?"
"What's it to you?" Vern asked his smiling secretary.
"The girls like to see the annual office flower."
"I'm the office flower, Rose?"
"For one day a year, you're the 'rose' of the office."
"The office rose?" Vern said with a laugh.
"Sure, your dress and pretty face are the petals, and what's beneath
those tights is, well, the thorn."
Rose's comment prompted Lucy to start to laugh. Vern shook his head
with a smile and said, "What do you girls want me to do?"
"How about coming out so we can see you?" Rose replied.
"You didn't get your fill this morning?" Vern countered.
"Hell, no!" Vern heard Lucy yell.
Vern got to his feet and walked towards the doorway that Rose vacated.
Vern walked towards Lucy's desk and did a little spin that made the
skirt of his dress lift a little.
As the girls began to laugh, Vern put his hands on his hips and asked,
"Satisfied, now?"
"No. Why don't you stay over here a little longer?"
"I've got to get some work done," Vern answered.
"You can take my desk, and I'll take your job for the day," Rose
retorted.
Vern's head jerked towards Rose as Lucy countered, "Why do you get to
be the boss for the day?"
"Who said anything about her being the boss?" Vern responded.
"I think that would make it a little more fun for all of us, but I
don't think she should get to be the boss all day," Lucy answered.
"How would this be fun?"
"Oh, come on. We don't have any power here. We just answer to you,
Anna and Charlotte. It would be a nice change for a day to just have
some power over each other..."
"And you!" Rose interjected to Lucy's approval.
"So what? You want me to split my time between your desks, pretending
to be a secretary?"
"No. I want you to be a real secretary for a day."
Vern scratched his head as his member stirred at the thought of really
being one of the girls for a day. As he contemplated the idea, Rose
added, "And we have to bring Cate into this."
"Yes, she deserves a few hours at the top too."
"Girls, I don't know about this," Vern replied trying to find some
reason to back out of it.
Rose huffed as she crossed her arms and said, "Spoilsport."
Vern rolled his eyes in response and decided to give the girls what
they wanted for the day, which he knew was what he wanted as well for
a reason he could not explain.
"I'm not a spoilsport, Miss Hawley," Vern replied.
"Miss Hawley? Aren't we getting a little formal?" Rose retorted.
"I suppose, but when you're the boss, you're entitled to be called
what you want to be called."
Rose grinned as she replied, "So you're in, Vera?"
"Let's do it, girlfriend," Vern replied to Lucy's laughter.
"Who gets to go first?" Lucy asked.
"Don't ask me, I'm just a secretary," Vern answered.
The girls laughed at his response before they called Cate over and
explained the situation to her. She was perplexed at first, but she
began to laugh as she realized that Vern was serious.
The girls then split up the remaining time in the day between the
three of them before Rose announced that she would be going first.
"Very well," Vern replied as he stepped into his office and took hold
of his coffee cup and headed for Rose's desk. The girls laughed as he
sat down at it and crossed his legs.
"So what were you up to?" Vern asked.
Rose grinned as she explained the task to him. Vern nodded before he
got to his feet and took hold of the stack of papers.
Vern carried the papers towards the copy room and put them down on a
counter top before he began to make copies for Rose. Vern listened
the humming of the machine as it ran off more copies that he stacked
and sorted.
Once Vern finished making the copies, he carried the papers back to
his desk before he began to file away documents that Rose had left on
her desk.
"Oh, Vera, a word please," Vern heard Rose call out to him from his
office as he closed a file cabinet drawer.
Vern approached the door and asked, "Yes?"
"Can you kindly get me a cup of coffee, girl?" Rose asked with a
smile.
Vern grinned as his manhood squirmed between his legs and said, "Of
course, Rose."
"Ah, ah, ah, my girl, I like to be called by last name by my
subordinates," Rose lectured.
Turned on by her words and her playfully dominating tone, Vern grinned
as he replied, "Sure, Miss Hawley."
"That's better, Vera."
Vern nodded before he inquired how she liked her coffee. Rose shook
her head before she told him how to make it.
Vern committed Rose's words to memory and headed for the coffee
machine. Vern turned his head over his shoulder to look at Lucy as he
walked away from their desks.
The look of disbelief and amusement on Lucy's face made him realize
that she never expected that he would let Rose take her pretend role
so far. Vern smiled as he turned his head back towards where he was
walking and wondered what Lucy would have in store for him.
Vern stepped into the kitchenette and made Rose a cup of coffee as she
requested before he started to carry it back towards her desk.
"You do that like a pro," Lucy shouted out with a laugh as he turned
the corner that led to where she was seated.
"You only really master it after years of experience though," Vern
responded with a smile.
Vern turned towards his office door and knocked upon it. Rose's eyes
focused on the computer for a few seconds, ignoring Vern's presence
before she looked up and patted the desktop, letting Vern know where
to place the cup down.
After putting the cup on the desk that he had worked at a few moments
earlier, Vern headed back to his desk. As he sat down, he felt the
uncomfortable crushing on his erect member.
Vern struggled to get comfortably situated at his desk as he wondered
what about the situation, other than the clothes, was making him so
excited. Vern looked around the desk trying to get his mind off the
subject before he took hold of the remaining documents to file away
and stood up.
Vern sorted the documents in his hands before he headed towards the
file cabinets. He felt the familiar restriction of the skirt of his
dress on his stride and a smile came across his face as the feminine
feeling overtook him.
After pulling open the first file cabinet, Vern searched through the
folders until he found the file that several of the documents in his
hand belonged in as his feet started to ache inside his heels. He put
the documents away before he closed the cabinet drawer and headed to
another file cabinet.
Vern then filed away the rest of the documents before he returned to
Rose's desk, feeling the need to remove his shoes. As Vern looked
down at the desktop, he saw a document that Rose had left for him to
fax. Vern sighed as he picked it up and walked towards the fax
machine, feeling his heels digger deeper into his feet with each step.
After reviewing the instructions on the machine, Vern punched in the
number and sent the fax through. Vern listened to the sound of the
dialing and the transmission. He counted the pages being sent by the
machine as he daydreamed about the relief he would feel when he let
his feet out of the shoes he had not planned to spend so much time
standing and moving about in. As the fax confirmation page printed,
Vern let out a little cheer that Lucy noticed and smirked at before he
attached the confirmation page to the document that Rose had him fax.
Vern carried it into Rose's office and said, "Here you are, Miss
Hawley."
"Thank you, Vera," Rose replied politely as he placed the fax down on
the desk before her.
Vern nodded before he turned and exited the office. He walked back to
Rose's secretary's desk. Vern smiled while he thought about what he
was doing, but he then quickly forced himself to lose his smile so
that Lucy did not get the wrong idea about him while he removed his
heels.
After taking care of a few other items on Rose's task list, Vern heard
Cate spring to her feet as her turn as the boss came. She practically
burst threw Vern's office door to kick Rose back to her secretarial
desk.
Rose shook her head as she grumbled, unhappy about yielding her
private office so soon. Cate took up residence behind the executives'
desk with great haste as Vern got to his high heeled feet to let Rose
pickup where he was leaving off with her work.
As Vern walked by his office door, Cate called out to him, "Vera, do
you have a moment?"
"For you, Cate? I've got all the time in the world."
"Cute, but I need you to handle my receptionist duties while I'm in
here."
"Fair enough," Vern replied with a smile.
"Did you bring lunch today?"
Vern shook his head before Cate asked, "So you were planning to go out
like that to get lunch?"
Vern squirmed before he shook his head, prompting Cate to add, "So you
were planning on having one of the girls get you lunch."
Vern nodded in agreement with Cate's assessment.
"Very well. I'll have Rose pick us up something."
"Sounds good," Vern replied before Cate called Rose into her office.
Rose gave Cate a blank stare as Cate told her where they were ordering
from. When Rose started to raise an objection, Cate shook her head
and reaffirmed her decision.
Rose gawked at Cate with a slack jaw before she turned towards Vern,
looking for help.
Vern shook his head as he said, "Don't look at me. You girls split
the time up and left her in charge at lunchtime, not me."
Rose grumbled as she took down Vern and Cate's orders before she went
to get the other girls' orders. Vern then headed to Cate's reception
desk and settled in behind it.
Vern looked at the phone before he peered towards the door that he
knew that no one was expected to walk through that afternoon, with the
exception of Rose when she returned from picking up the office's
lunch. Vern tapped upon the desk as he waited for the phone to ring.
The sound of it still caught him off guard as his attention veered
away from it for a second. Vern lunged for it and picked it up on the
first ring as he gave the company's standard greeting.
The man on the other end of the phone asked for Anna. Vern nodded as
he took down the man's name and the reason for his call before he put
him on hold. Vern dialed Anna and told him who he had on the line
before he transferred her the call.
As Vern hung up the phone after transferring the call, he looked
around Cate's desk for something to occupy his time. The sight of a
stack of mail caught Vern's attention, and he began to sort through
it.
After he sorted the mail by recipient, he opened his own mail and
reviewed the letters before he turned his attention to the letters he
had to drop off to the girls. Vern slipped his feet back into his
heels and headed down the hallway.
He veered into Charlotte's office first and gave her the letters that
had come in for her. Charlotte gave Vern a polite thank you before
she turned her attention back to her work.
Vern then headed into Anna's office. Anna gave Vern a vacant stare as
he knocked upon her door. He could see her struggle to permit him to
enter her office en femme, but she knew that she had no choice in the
matter.
Vern gently placed the documents down on her desk before she gave him
a begrudging thank you, and Vern headed back out the door. Vern
walked down the hallway before he entered his office and put down the
letters he had already opened.
"Couldn't resist the urge to open the mail, Vera?" Cate asked with
raised eyebrows.
"It was addressed to me," Vern countered.
"No, it was addressed to the boss," Cate retorted before Vern slinked
out of her office.
As Vern began to walk back towards Cate's reception desk, he heard the
phone start to ring.
"Shit," Vern exclaimed under his breath while he hurried towards the
desk, nearly tripping in the process. Vern reached for the phone and
gave the company's standard greeting once again before he took the
caller's information and called over to Anna.
Vern could hear the unease in Anna's voice as she spoke to him over
the phone before he transferred the call to her. He tried to pay it
no mind, but it unnerved him slightly.
Vern then sat back down at the desk and waited to answer a call as no
other work was lying around on Cate's desk for him to attend to.
"I'm not making good use of her time," Vern muttered to himself before
he opened up a computer game on Cate's computer.
After he began playing the game and answering calls for a good half an
hour, Rose walked in carrying lunch for the office.
"Lunch is here, Vera," Rose called out in a chipper tone.
"Okay," Vern replied, not tearing his eyes away from the computer
screen.
Rose walked past the reception desk and looked down at Vern's computer
screen.
"Minesweeper, really?" Rose asked with a laugh as she looked his
shoulder, remembering Vern's casual berating of Cate for playing
solitaire to pass the time between calls.
"Hey, the mines aren't going to sweep themselves," Vern retorted.
"Be that as it may, here's your lunch," Rose replied as she handed
Vern a bag.
"Thank you," Vern replied before he placed it down on the desk.
Vern opened the bag and began to eat his lunch while he continued to
answer calls and began to surf the internet.
"I really need to make better use of her time," Vern muttered again as
he ate Cate's desk.
Shortly after Vern finished eating his lunch, Cate's turn as the boss
came to an end. Cate walked over to him and tapped on his shoulder.
Vern tore his eyes away from the news on the computer screen and
asked, "What's up?"
"Lucy needs you to take over at her desk," Cate replied, shaking her
head as she knew how many times Vern had scolded her for reading
celebrity gossip sites at work.
"Oh, is it her turn already?" Vern inquired.
"Sadly," Cate noted with a half smile as she waited for Vern to vacate
her seat at the receptionist desk.
Vern slipped his feet back into his heels before he stood up and
headed back towards where Lucy sat. Rose gazed up from her desk as
Vern walked towards her to sit at the desk that was across from her
desk.
Vern looked around Lucy's desk and saw the documents she had been
working on when her turn came. Vern completed the forms before he
turned his attention to a few other items on her desk.
Most of the documents on Lucy's desk were from Anna and Charlotte,
since she worked closely with each of them. Rose, on the other hand,
worked more with him than the other two girls, but she also helped
Lucy and the other girls when the need arrived.
As Vern continued to fill out forms for Anna and Charlotte, he
realized that Lucy's inbox was lighter than usual.
"Is it slow around here?" Vern asked Rose as he turned towards her.
Rose laughed as she replied, "We could only wish."
"Really? Doesn't Lucy usually have a bigger pile in her inbox?"
"Sure, but that's because Anna and Charlotte aren't particularly shy
about giving her something to do."
"Do you think they're holding back on me?"
"I'm sure of it," Rose answered.
Vern nodded as he got to his feet and went to see Charlotte first,
knowing that she would be the friendlier face to meet with.
"What can I do for you?" Charlotte asked while Vern stood in her
doorway.
Vern expressed what he noticed before Charlotte hemmed and hawed prior
to admitting that she had some other work that Vern could do if his
workload was light. Vern accepted the documents with a smile before
he carried them back to Lucy's desk.
After placing them in the inbox, Vern took a deep breath before he
walked towards Anna's office. Rose smirked as she saw the nervous
look on Vern's face. She could not believe that he was dreading
facing an underling.
'Doesn't he realize that he's the boss?' Rose wondered.
Vern hesitated before he knocked upon Anna's door. Anna looked up at
him in silence, expecting him to say something.
Vern stood silently for a moment before he said, "Umm...Anna, do you
have any work for me to do?"
"You're out of work already?"
"Oh, no. It's just that Lucy's inbox seems a little light."
"She works quickly."
"Not this quickly," Vern retorted.
Anna stared up at him and cringed a little. Vern could sense that she
was as uncomfortable around him en femme as he was around her at that
moment.
"So if you have anything. I'd appreciate knowing about it," Vern
added.
Anna nodded before she reached over and took hold of a stack papers.
"Here, see if you can handle this," Anna replied as she shoved the
documents towards him.
Vern nodded and took hold of them in silence before he turned and
headed out of her office and back towards Lucy's desk.
"Back from morgue," Rose asked with a smile as she saw him approaching
Lucy's desk.
Vern smiled slightly while he placed the documents he got from Anna
down before he settled back in at Lucy's desk. He began to fill out
some more forms and do some light research for Anna and Charlotte as
Rose worked across from him.
Vern occasionally caught Rose's glances at him while he worked.
Eventually, he became interested enough to ask, "What you looking at,
Rose?"
"A very pretty man," Rose responded with a man.
"Oh, thanks," Vern replied.
Rose grinned at Vern's sarcasm before she added, "And you really are a
natural?"
"What? Woman?" Vern responded.
Shirley laughed as she said, "Oh, yes, you're all woman."
"Don't hate me because I'm beautiful," Vern playfully retorted as he
turned his attention back to the computer screen.
Rose shook her head as she replied, "Don't get too big a head over
there, because I'm going to bet that I'm going to be looking a lot
prettier than you tomorrow."
"In some people's eyes," Vern rejoined.
"Like?"
"Mine and yours for instance," Vern replied with a smile.
"Vera, can you get me a cup of coffee?" Vern then heard Lucy call out
to him, breaking up their conversation.
Vern got his feet and walked towards the office door while he replied,
"Sure. How do you like it?"
Vern listened to how Lucy wanted her coffee prepared. He nodded his
head as she finished talking and headed towards the kitchenette.
After fixing her a cup the way she liked, Vern turned and walked out
of the kitchenette. He hurried back towards his office door and
knocked upon it.
"Here's your coffee, Miss Le Bon," Vern said as his eyes met Lucy's.
Lucy smirked at his unprompted reference to her by her last name. She
thanked him for the cup of coffee before she gently admonished, "Don't
call Miss Le Bon too much, Vera, or I might get used to it."
"Wouldn't want that," Vern replied with a grin and a laugh before he
scurried back to Lucy's secretary's desk wondering if he really did
not want that. Vern tried to brush away those thoughts as he got back
to doing Lucy's work.
Vern worked at her desk for an hour, completing the various
administrative forms that Anna and Charlotte had given him to work on.
The work was not very hard and Vern found himself daydreaming while he
filled out the forms.
Lucy exited her office and looked at Vern's studious appearance as he
dutifully went about her work and smiled before she said, "Vera."
"Yes, Miss Le Bon?" Vern replied to her delight, prompting Rose to
smirk at the two of them.
"I need you to put down your pen for a moment and cleanup the
kitchenette."
Vern gave Lucy a curious look as Rose struggled not to laugh, almost
in disbelief that she had not thought of the task first. As Vern gave
Lucy a blank stare, both girls wondered if this would be a bridge too
far for Vern to go.
Grins came across both their faces as Vern got to his feet and
replied, "Right away, Miss Le Bon."
Vern smiled while he walked past them struggling to get his erection
to go down as he wondered why he was looking forward to cleaning up
the kitchenette.
After stepping into the kitchenette, Vern surveyed the situation.
"Does anyone in this office cleanup after themselves?" Vern muttered
to himself while he saw the full sink and spilled coffee on the
countertop.
Vern huffed as he took hold of the sponge and began to clean the
glasses and bowls in the sink. He rinsed them and dried them with
paper towels before he placed them in the drying rack to the side of
the sink.
Once he finished with the bulkier items, Vern turned his attention to
the utensils. Vern cleaned each fork, knife and spoon in the sink
before he began to wring out the sponge into the sink.
Vern then wiped down the countertop before he dried it with the paper
towels and looked around to see if there was anything more for him to
do. Vern shrugged as he looked at the microwave. He opened the door
to it and looked inside and noticed a little food build up inside.
Vern scrubbed at with the sponge before he partially dried it and
closed the microwave door. Vern then tossed the soiled paper towels
in the trash can and headed for the sink.
After Vern finished washing his hands, he returned to Lucy's desk. He
went back to completing her forms again as the day neared its end.
As five o'clock came, Vern shut down Lucy's computer and got to his
feet and said, "Well, that was fun."
"It sure was," Rose responded, sensing that Vern was not being
sarcastic.
Hearing Vern and Rose's banter, Lucy came out of Vern's office with a
smile on her face as she carried her purse. Cate hurried towards them
and asked, "So did everyone get their fill today?"
"No," Lucy replied, shaking her head.
"One day a year is just not enough," Rose added.
"What do you want to do it once a month?" Vern asked with a grin,
thinking that such an arrangement would not be a bad thing.
"I was thinking more like once a week," Rose responded.
"I don't know about that. That could be a disruption," Vern replied.
"If your Girl Fridays are a problem, we'll stop, but I don't think
that will be an issue," Rose said.
"My Girl Fridays?"
"Your designated girlie day. Maybe, say, starting next week," Rose
responded with a laugh.
The other girls snickered. Vern felt intrigued and aroused by the
thought as he said, "We'll maybe we'll give it a try."
"You won't regret it," Cate interjected.
"I think I'm already starting to," Vern responded as he felt his
stomach churning.
The girls laughed a bit before they said goodbye to Vern and each
other and filed out the door. Vern locked up behind them before he
headed for his car.
Vern smiled as he got into his car, thinking about the day. He
removed his heels and slipped his feet back into his black, sandals
before he pulled the car out of his parking spot.
Vern drove home feeling conflicted about his new arrangement. While
the day had excited him, and he was never one to pass an opportunity
to go out en femme, the sexual feelings that accompanied his feminine
feelings made him ashamed as he drove.
Vern pulled down his street and approached his home. He pressed a
button to open the garage door and saw his wife's car parked to one
side of the two car garage.
"Just great," Vern muttered to himself as he thought about what his
wife would say.
While his wife had seen him en femme many times, especially on
Halloween, he knew that she was not particularly found of his
feminized appearance. Vern tossed his keys into his wife's bag after
he parked the car and closed the garage door behind him.
"She's not going to be happy about me borrowing this," Vern thought to
himself as he headed into the house carrying his wife's bag.
As he opened the door, he heard his wife shout, "Hey, honey."
Shirley froze and shook her head as she saw her husband walking in a
dress.
"You just can't control yourself can you?" Shirley asked. She was
not surprised by his decision to cross-dress on Halloween, given his
earlier exploits on that day. She had not seen him do it the prior
years, however, as she had gotten home later than him those years due
to work commitments and usually left before he got dressed in the
morning.
Vern blushed before he answered, "I'm going to get changed."
"Well, I made dinner once you're ready to sit down."
"I'm just going to change into something more comfortable."
"You look more comfortable in a dress than I do," Shirley retorted
with a laugh.
Vern blushed, knowing that her words were true. His wife preferred
pants to dresses and skirts, but she wore them to break up her
wardrobe at work and on formal occasions. While Vern would have
preferred her to be more girly so that he could live vicariously
through her, Vern felt that his wife's tomboyish behavior, however,
matched up well with his tomgirlish traits.
Shirley shook her head as he headed down the hallway towards the
stairs. She shouted towards him, "Next time, could you at least ask
if you're going to borrow some of my things."
Vern blushed again while he apologized, "I'm sorry I didn't ask."
"It's okay. Just keep it to pocketbooks. I don't want to find out
that your junk's been stinking up my pretty panties."
Vern hung his head as he nodded and headed up the stairs to change
into his male attire, feeling certain that he should not bring up his
deal with his wife.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
-
As the first Friday since the deal was made came, Vern lay silently
under the covers of his bed while he listened to his wife scrambling
around downstairs. Once he heard the front door close, Vern swung his
legs off the bed.
Vern walked into the bathroom and took a quick shower before he dried
himself off and grabbed breakfast. Once he finished cleaning his
bowl, Vern headed back up to the master bedroom and opened his closet
doors. He then stared into the portion of his closet that his wife
usually avoided looking at.
The dresses, skirts and tops all caught his eye as he wondered which
outfit he should wear to work that day. Vern hemmed and hawed for a
few seconds before he settled on a black, stretch knit dress with
raglan sleeves that was adorned with white printed flowers on the
front.
Vern rubbed the knit fabric of the dress between his fingers as he
carried it towards the bed and laid it down on top of it. Vern smiled
at the dress for a second before he turned towards his dresser and
opened the drawer containing his feminine intimates.
Vern pulled out a pair of black, opaque tights to hide the hair that
was on his legs before he took hold of a pair of black panties and a
bra. He carried them to his bed and dropped his towel to the floor.
After putting on his panties, Vern rolled down the tights and placed
his feet into them. He slowly unrolled them up his legs, taking care
to savor every moment of the silky feeling brushing against his legs.
Vern stood up when he brought the control top of the tights over his
member before he forced his surging manhood into its familiar
uncomfortable position between his legs.
With his tights on, Vern took hold of the bra and wrapped it around
his back before he hooked it and went into his closet to retrieve his
breast forms. Vern stuffed his bra with the forms as he walked
towards where he kept the glue to affix the forms.
Vern struggled with the cap of the container for a second before he
placed a glob of glue between his chest and forms. Vern then pressed
the forms firmly against his chest for a few minutes.
After Vern finished affixing the forms to his chest, he picked up his
dress and put it on over his head and forced his head through its
crewneck. Vern straightened out the dress over his legs before he
walked back towards his closet. Remembering his last day at the
office en femme, Vern decided to wear more sensible shoes.
Vern selected his pair of black, patent leather, cap-toed wedges with
a silver metal bar running across the vamp to complement his outfit.
After slipping his feet into them, Vern strolled towards his wife's
dressing mirror to look over his appearance.
Vern struck a few poses in the mirror as he stared into the mirror
looking very much like a woman given his style of dress and long hair.
It was only his face that gave any hint that he was a man.
Shaking his head, Vern headed into the bathroom and brushed his teeth
before he took out his makeup. He applied it to his face with his
well practiced ease before he carried the makeup bag back into the
bedroom.
Once he placed the bag away within one of his purses, Vern remembered
how his wife had caught him the last time. Vern shook his head as he
reached into his closet and picked out an entire male outfit that he
carried down the stairs and placed away in a shopping bag to bring to
work with him.
Vern carried the bag out to his car and locked it in his trunk before
he walked back into the house and headed back up the stairs to collect
his purse. Vern placed his keys and wallet into it before he walked
out of the room and back down the staircase.
Vern walked into the garage feeling confident about his appearance.
After sliding behind the steering wheel, Vern opened the garage door
up and pulled his car into the driveway.
After pulling out of his driveway, Vern drove to work wondering what
the day would hold in store for him. As he drove, his mind drifted to
the various fantasies that he had come up with since Halloween.
Thoughts of kissing his bosses and the spanking and pinching women
endured before the women's rights movement cross his mind. He day
dreamed about being made to fear for his job if he did not please his
boss just as she wanted while he drove.
Vern knew that his fantasies would likely stay just that since he
loved his wife and knew the times had changed since the stereotypical
office scenarios he daydreamed about would have been possible with a
female secretary and a male boss. He was also aware that office had
to keep functioning or he would have to do away with his girl Fridays.
Since he did not want to lose his new outlet for his cross-dressing,
Vern realized that he was going to have to keep from trying to force
his pretend bosses into positions that would likely be unsettling for
them.
Vern pulled his car into the parking lot and parked in his reserved
spot. After exiting the vehicle, Vern hurried towards the door and
pushed his way through it.
"Almost on time," Vern heard Rose say as he entered the office.
"Traffic," Vern replied with a smile.
"Excuses, excuses, excuses," Rose retorted dismissively before she
walked back towards his office beside Vern.
Rose briefly smiled at Vern before she turned into his office and sat
behind his desk while he reported to her desk. Charlotte and Anna
then greeted Vern before Lucy entered the office.
Lucy grinned at him for a few second before Cate made her way into the
office. After placing her purse down on the receptionist desk, she
hurried back towards the secretarial desks to see Vern.
Grinning she looked at Lucy and said, "I think Vera's the more
fashionable secretary."
"We're not in competition," Lucy retorted.
"Anything you say," Vern interjected.
Lucy rolled her eyes before Cate added, "I think you could look a
little better though, Vera."
Vern gave Cate a quizzical look before she explained, "You just don't
accessorize at all."
"I really don't have much of a chance to do that sort of thing," Vern
replied truthfully.
"Well, then, let me help you," Cate said.
Lucy laughed as she shook her head and interjected, "I wouldn't let
her help you, Vera. She's a much younger woman with younger woman
ideas about what it is to look good."
"She's not that much younger."
"Honey, she's got a decade on you," Lucy retorted with a smile.
"I can still look young," Vern responded, feeling slightly taken aback
and self conscious about his ever increasing age.
"Keep lying to yourself. It's how the rest of us get through the day
too," Lucy said with a laugh.
"Vera doesn't need to lie to herself, but she could look a little
younger."
"Just a little," Vern rejoined before cracking a smile.
"Leave everything to me," Cate replied.
"Are you going to make me an offer I can't refuse?" Vern asked.
"Are you propositioning me?" Cate deadpanned.
"No!" Vern hastily exclaimed as his heart started to race, believing
that Cate was misreading the situation.
The smile on her face brought a sense of relief to him as she replied,
"Just making sure, Vera."
"So sure," Vern replied with a deep breath.
Cate grinned as she said, "I've got just the set of bracelets for
you."
"Set of bracelets? What is there two? One for each arm?"
"Oh, no. They're all for your right arm."
"Why would I put multiple bracelets on one arm? Isn't one
sufficient?"
"Maybe for an old woman."
"Don't look at me. I haven't bothered with bracelets since my first
daughter was born," Lucy interjected.
Vern and Cate looked over at her for a second before Cate scurried
away from them to retrieve her purse.
"So the odds on her just having these extra pieces of jewelry with her
would be nonexistent if she didn't know I was going to be wearing a
dress today, right?" Vern asked Lucy as Cate left them briefly alone.
"No question," Lucy replied with a grin as she turned towards her work
while Cate hurried back towards Vern.
She reached into her bag and took out a set of six silver bracelets
and told Vern to hold out his right arm. Vern hesitated before he
watched Cate slide one silver ring after silver ring onto his arm.
Vern followed their movements as they each slid down his arm before
the clanged together as his member surged between his legs.
When Cate finished, she stared at his ears and said, "I noticed that
your ears were pierced the first time I met you."
"Yes, but I haven't worn earrings in a while."
"I bet the holes are still there though," Cate said as she inspected
his ears.
"I don't know," Vern said as he reached for his ears before Cate
replied, "Let's find out."
Vern dropped his arms and felt the bracelets slide down his arm before
they chimed together. Vern cringed at the sound prompting, Lucy to
say, "You sound like a moving Christmas bell."
"Thanks," Vern replied in a tone dripping with sarcasm before the two
large silver hoop earrings in Cate's hands caught his eye.
"Those are garish."
"Garish? They're as plain as earrings can get without being nothing
more than a silver stud."
"Maybe," Vern replied as Cate reached up to his ears and pushed the
earring through one of the holes.
"See, I told you they stay pierced," Cate said with a smile.
Vern shrugged before Cate placed in the second earring and took a step
back.
"What do you think?" Vern asked.
"Much better," Cate replied before she looked at Lucy.
Lucy looked Vern over and said, "You don't look half bad in those."
"Half bad? She's looks great," Cate countered.
"Well, when you consider the total package...," Lucy responded.
Rose smirked at the sound of the girls' gushing over Vern's appearance
before she called out, "Vera, can I see you for a moment?"
"Yes, Miss Hawley," Vern replied, almost instinctively.
Vern entered the office as his bracelets clanged together. Rose shook
her head while he entered the room before she said, "Jingle, jingle,
jingle."
"Yes, I know I feel like a jingle bell," Vern replied.
"Well, you certainly look like a type of belle," Rose retorted with a
grin.
Vern nodded slightly with a smile as he asked, "What can I do for
you?"
"I wanted to take a look at you."
"A look at me?" Vern asked as he raised his eyebrows and began to
model his clothes a little.
"That's enough, you little tart. I need a cup of coffee."
Vern nodded as he took hold of Rose's cup and headed for the kitchen.
As the cup of coffee started to brew, Charlotte entered the
kitchenette.
Charlotte gave Vern a slightly, uncomfortable hello before Vern
greeted her. As the cup of coffee continued to pour out, Vern asked,
"Got any big plans for the weekend?"
"No me and my husband are just going out with some friends," Charlotte
replied before she asked, "You?"
"Same," Vern replied, before he caught himself and added, "Of course,
I meant with my wife though. I don't have a husband."
"Couldn't catch one," Charlotte asked with a smile, amused by Vern's
verbal trip up.
"I got the wrong bait," Vern answered with a laugh.
"Well, knowing Shirley, there must be something to that bait,"
Charlotte responded with a grin.
"She doesn't complain...about that."
"She's probably got bigger and better things to complain about,"
Charlotte retorted.
"I'm not that bad."
"There's all that typical man stuff though," Charlotte rejoined.
"I'm not a typical man," Vern retorted.
"I'll say," Charlotte replied with a laugh as she looked down at the
hemline that rested over his tights covered legs.
Vern blushed as he responded, "She does complain about that though."
"Some girls can't handle it."
"Do you know any that could?" Vern asked as he removed Rose's cup
from underneath the machine and slid it over to add milk while
Charlotte put her cup under the coffee maker.
"Not any that have told me. I imagine it's a thing most girls would
keep to themselves, provided they didn't get divorced right away."
"Would you get divorced right away?" Vern asked.
"Not from my husband, because I love him. Anna on the other hand, she
would throw her man out so fast if she ever thought he even dreamed
about putting on a dress."
"Yes, I could have guessed," Vern replied with a slight laugh as he
finished stirring Rose's coffee.
"I'll talk to you later," Vern then added to Charlotte with a smile
while he exited the kitchenette holding Rose's cup of coffee.
Vern carried the cup into Rose's office and said, "Here you are."
"Thanks, Vera," Rose replied.
Vern nodded before he walked back out of the office and towards the
secretarial desk he was calling his own for the day. As he sat down,
Vern looked at the email from Rose on his computer screen.
Vern looked over the large number of emails that Rose was asking him
to draft a response to. Vern did not waste a moment before he took to
the task and began drafting response to each email.
After he finished each, Vern sent to Rose for her review. Rose would
invariably return the email with a few minor tweaks and suggestions,
as Vern was prone to doing himself when he was working behind the
boss's desk. Vern knew that she was doing it just tweak him, but he
enjoyed it all the same.
As Vern continued to make the changes and draft correspondence, Cate
walked over and began to make small talk with Lucy. Vern listened
while Cate talked about getting highlights in her hair. Vern wished
that he could get them too, but he knew that he could not given his
wife and his need to appear normal when he went about the parts of his
life that demanded that he look like a typical man.
The sound of a ringing phone sent Cate scurrying back to her desk
while Vern continued to compose correspondence for Rose and send it
for her review. Once Rose sent out the last email Vern sent her, she
called over to his desk.
Vern picked up the phone and asked, "Yes, Miss Hawley?"
"Can you come into my office for a moment?"
"Sure, Miss Hawley," Vern replied before he stood up.
"Getting called into the principal's office?" Lucy asked with a
smile.
"Kind of feels that way," Vern answered with a half grin while he felt
his member twitch.
Vern walked towards Rose's office door and asked, "What can I do for
you?"
"I noticed the conference room is a bit of a mess. Do you think you
could clean it up?"
Vern was surprised by her request, but he knew her point was valid.
He had used the conference room towards the end of the day before and
remembered the state he had left it in.
Vern nodded as he said, "Sure, Miss Hawley."
Rose thanked him before Vern headed out of her office and towards the
kitchenette again. He took hold of the sponge by the sink and wetted
it before he pushed the door to the conference room open.
Vern felt his member stir as he began to wipe the crumbs and dirt off
the glass tabletop as he leaned over it. Cleaning had always made
Vern feel feminine, whether it was at home or at work since it made
him think back to when such tasks were considered women's work.
Once the table was wiped off, Vern brought the sponge back into the
kitchenette and wrung it out before he took hold of a bottle of Windex
and a roll of paper towels. Vern walked back into the conference room
and leaned over the table again while he sprayed the glass cleaner and
rubbed it into the glass in a familiar circular motion.
Vern finished cleaning the table before he put the cleaning supplies
away in the kitchenette and returned to his desk. He sat down on
Rose's low back, pleather chair and began to start filling out the
forms that had been left in Rose's inbox.
After completing a few documents, he heard Charlotte say over his
shoulder, "Vera, when you get a moment, can you please put these on
your to-do list?"
Vern turned towards her and nodded his head before he said, "Can do."
"Thanks, Vera," Charlotte said with a grin as she turned and walked
back towards her office.
Vern looked at the documents she wanted him to copy and shrugged
before he went back to filling out the forms that had been in Rose's
inbox.
Once Vern finished with the forms, he stood up and took hold of the
papers that Charlotte had dropped off on his desk. He made the copies
she asked for before he brought them into her office.
Charlotte thanked him before Vern headed back towards Rose's desk. As
he sat down, Cate came over and said, "Vera?"
"What's up?"
"Rose's making me take a lunch order," Cate answered.
"Making you?" Vern replied with a grin.
"Yes, the queen bitch is pulling rank."
"She's such a taskmaster," Lucy chimed in with a laugh.
Vern laughed along with the girls before he gave Cate his order and
turned his attention back to Rose's work. He went back to working on
some forms, until Charlotte walked over and said, "Vera, can you be a
dear and fax this for me?"
Vern looked up at her and realized that whatever reservations she had
about treating him like one of the support staff was gone when he was
en femme. Vern nodded before he got to his feet and headed for the
fax machine while Charlotte turned and went back into her office.
As the machine processed the fax, Vern's mind drifted back to the
conversations he had had with the girls. He felt that they were
really treating him like one of the girls for the day. The thought
made his manhood swell for a moment before he remembered where he was
and tried to cease his arousal.
Once the fax went through, Vern took the confirmation receipt and the
documents and carried them back into Charlotte's office. Charlotte
handed Vern the file and asked him to file away the document. Vern
nodded before he searched through the folder for the sub-file the
document belonged in. After he placed it away, he put the file on
Charlotte's bookshelf and walked back into the corridor that led to
his secretary's desk.
Shortly after Vern sat down, he heard Cate announce the arrival of
lunch over the public address system on the phones. Vern got to his
feet and went over to her desk to pickup his lunch, as well as Rose's
and Lucy's.
He brought one bag to Rose who smiled and thanked him before he
brought the remaining bags over to Lucy's desk. They sorted whose bag
was whose before they each sat down at their desks and began to eat.
As she finished chewing her food, Lucy asked, "How are things with
Shirley?"
"Never better," Vern replied before he asked about her husband.
Lucy responded with a long list of complaints before she finished,
"But other than that we're fine."
"I'm glad I'm not Dean," Vern said with a smile.
"Don't be so sure you're not. Your wife probably complains about you
all the time at her job."
"She shouldn't, I'm a prince," Vern replied with a grin and a laugh.
"You look more like a princess," Lucy rejoined before she smiled.
"Yes, but I'm less entitled."
"Yes, being a secretary will certainly humble you a bit, but don't
tell that to Rose."
"No she prefers serving humble pie," Vern retorted.
"Doesn't everyone?" Lucy inquired.
Vern shrugged before he asked about Lucy's kids. Vern instantly
regretted the question as Lucy spent the following twenty minutes
detailing her daughters various troubles at school, their Girl Scout
meetings and their dance classes.
'I was asking in generalities', Vern thought to himself as Lucy
continued talking about what activities her girls were doing.
After they finished eating lunch, he threw out his garbage in the
kitchenette and washed his hands. As she stepped out of the
kitchenette, Cate called over to him to tell him that the mail came
in.
Vern nodded as he walked towards her and began to sort the mail beside
her while they made small talk for a few minutes. Once he finished
sorting it, he walked back towards the other girls. He veered off the
hallway to give certain documents to Charlotte and Anna before he
walked towards Rose's office door.
Rose looked up at Vern as he knocked upon it. She motioned for him to
enter before Vern gave her the mail. Rose perused it for a moment
before she grinned and said, "Why don't you review it first and make a
synopsis of each letter?"
Vern was struck by her request before he nodded and replied, "Okay."
Vern turned and exited the office and headed back for his secretarial
desk. Vern then read each letter before he wrote up a brief summary
of its contents.
Once he finished, Vern carried the letters and the summaries into
Rose's office and placed them on her desk. As he went to leave, Rose
asked him to take a seat.
Vern nodded again before he sat down on a guest chair before the desk.
It was strange to be staring at Rose in the exact reverse position
that he normally looked at her in when they were at eye level in the
office.
Rose began to read each of Vern's summaries before she peppered him
with questions about the various details contained in the letters or
about his opinions, which Vern gave freely. Once she was finished
quizzing Vern about the letters, she said, "Okay, thanks, Vera. Oh,
and can you do one more thing for me?"
"What?" Vern inquired.
"Could you clean up your desk for me?"
Vern looked around at the desk in front of Rose before a smile came
across her face before she said, "No. I mean your desk."
Vern realized she was referring to the secretaries' desk he was
spending his day at before he nodded with a smile. Vern walked out of
the office feeling his member stirring between his legs once more
while he walked towards Rose's desk to organize it.
He was aware that Rose was probably needling him given his long
standing pet peeve about maintaining clean desks in the office place
since he felt it looked more professional. Vern scurried about around
her desk, sorting various documents that were strewn about and filing
them away.
As he finished the task, he sat down at the desk and noticed the task
that Rose had sent him via email. Vern shook his head at the personal
appointment that Rose had asked him to schedule for her.
Vern laughed a little to himself before he picked up the phone and
dialed the salon with which Rose wanted to schedule an appointment.
The receptionist picked up and quickly put him on hold as Vern nodded
his head.
The woman came back onto the phone before she took down Rose's
appointment request and scheduled her for a weekend haircut and
manicure. Vern thanked the woman before he hung up.
Lucy shook her head at Vern as he hung up the phone as she said, "Do
you know how much Rose bitches about scheduling your personal
appointments?"
"I guess she figures turnabout is fair play," Vern answered.
"Without a doubt," Lucy replied before she turned her attention back
to her computer screen.
Vern smiled as he turned and looked at the documents that were left
for him to copy in Rose's inbox. He sighed as he stood back up and
carried them towards the copy machine.
He stood at the machine, making the various copies required of him for
over a half an hour while he did his best to sort the materials as
they came out of the machine. Once he finished with the copying job,
he brought it into Anna's office.
Anna gave him a look, but tried not to have to recognize his presence
as he dropped the papers off in her office without saying a word. As
he walked back towards his desk, Rose called out to him.
Vern walked into her office and asked what she needed. She asked Vern
to go to his desk and draft a letter for her review. Vern nodded
before he complied with her request and sent it on to her for her
review.
After making the revisions that Rose required, Vern prepared a Federal
Express package for the letter and the documents to go along with it
for Rose's review. Rose approved and sealed the package before Vern
returned to his desk and finished his workday filling out forms.
Once the workday came to an end, Vern said goodbye to the girls as
they began to file out the door. Rose was the last to leave, wanting
to savor her turn as the boss a little longer. She thanked Vern for
his work for the day before she headed for the door.
As Rose exited the building and pulled out of the parking lot, Vern
ventured to his car. He took hold of the bag containing his male
clothes and brought it into the office before he locked the front
door.
Vern went into his office and took off his dress and bra. He
struggled to remove the breast forms before he put them away in the
bag and redressed in his male clothing over his tights and panties.
After he finished dressing, Vern put on his men's shoes and went into
the bathroom with his makeup bag. He did his best to remove his
makeup, but he knew that traces of it were still left on his face.
Vern shook his head at them, hoping his wife would not catch them if
she beat him home, even though he knew better than that.
Vern exited the bathroom and took hold of the shopping bag containing
his female clothing and carried it out of the office. He placed the
bag into his trunk before he drove home.
As he arrived at his home, Vern was relieved to find that he had
gotten home before his wife. He snuck the bag inside and hung the
dress back up and put away his undergarments before he entered the
shower.
By the time he turned off the water and toweled himself off, Shirley
had entered the home. Rose came up the stairs and saw Vern as he
exited the bathroom covered only a towel.
After exchanging pleasantries and small talk about their day, Shirley
turned away from Vern and towards their bedroom. Vern followed her
inside as he went to get dressed while Shirley changed out of her
office attire and into something more comfortable for their dinner.
Shirley noticed Vern's chipper demeanor while he got dressed. She
found it strange until she caught a glimpse of the trace of makeup on
his face as he turned towards a light.
Shirley shook her head with a half smile and thought, "He just can't
control himself."
----------------------------------------------------------------------
-
As the second Friday afternoon since the deal neared its end, Vern
scurried around the office making copies and assembling the copy sets
that Charlotte asked Lucy to do for her. The pencil skirt of his grey
suit constricted his steps and slowed him down as he tried to hurry.
Vern felt a drip of sweat on his brow and wanted to remove the grey,
wide rib, wool tights from his legs, but, given the hairy mess that
was underneath them, Vern knew that they had to remain there. He
packaged the documents together and carried it towards Charlotte's
office as his three inch black ballerina wedges wrapped against the
floor.
Charlotte thanked Vern before he straightened out the multilayered
necklace that Cate had given him to wear for the day. He then took a
deep breath as he hurried towards the copier and checked on the copy
job he was making for Anna.
The sound of the opening front door was lost on him while Vern
continued moving hastily around the copy room. He only stopped when
he heard Cate greet his wife. Cate did not see anything wrong with
her being there, since she was confident that Vern had not kept his
deal a secret with her.
"Where's my husband at?" Shirley asked with a smile after exchanging
pleasantries with Cate.
"He's running around here somewhere doing something for Rose or Miss
Hawley, as he calls her," Cate replied with a laugh.
"Pardon?" Shirley asked as Vern felt his stomach sink.
Cate gave Shirley a strange look before she looked around for Vern,
realizing that her assumption was incorrect.
Vern swallowed hard as he walked towards the reception desk and said,
"Hi, Shirley. I wasn't expecting you."
"I could have guessed that," Shirley replied as the smile left her
face as Vern strolled towards her while she stood before him in a navy
blue skirtsuit that was not very different from the grey one he was
wearing.
"I would have worn something a little different if I knew you were
coming," Vern said with a nervous feeling in his stomach.
Shirley nodded before she replied, "That would have taken the surprise
element of it."
"Yes," Vern replied slowly.
"Well, I wanted to surprise you by making reservations at this nice
little restaurant I heard so much about. It's not often that I get
off this early."
"No. It's definitely not," Vern replied feeling guilty before he
noted, "I've got a change clothes here. We can still go if you want."
"That's good," Shirley replied in a stilted way, unsure of why Vern
was cross-dressed around his coworkers on a normal workday.
Shirley shook her head as silence filled the room. She punctured it
as she asked, "So is this a regular occurrence?"
"It's not everyday," Vern countered.
"Okay, how many days is it?"
"Every Friday," Vern admitted, hanging his head a little.
"I should have guessed. There's been makeup traces on your regular
clothes. So I guess it's just coming off when you change at the end
of the day, and there have been traces on your face. Part of me just
thought you were doing when you got home."
"Where would the fun be in that?" Rose asked as she walked towards
the reception desk to greet Shirley.
"How long has this been going on?" Shirley then asked.
"A few weeks since Halloween," Rose answered for Vern.
"Okay, I'll guess I'll ask the question. Why?"
"He enjoys it. We enjoy it."
"You enjoy it? I know he likes it, but what's in it for you?" Cate
asked Rose for clarification.
"Well, we get to be a boss every three weeks."
"Say what?"
"Vern cycles through roles with Lucy, Cate and myself. We each get a
day every three weeks were we get to be the boss for once and Vern
answers to us."
"And this hasn't caused a problem?"
"No. Productivity is up and the workforce has never happier since we
instituted Vern's Girl Fridays," Rose replied.
"Save for one," Cate interjected.
Shirley ignored Cate's comment as she laughed and said, "You have a
name for it."
"Yes, Girl Fridays seems appropriate," Cate replied.
Shirley laughed as she shook her head while she looked over Vern and
said, "This is why I never find you boring. You always pull something
like this out of thin air."
"You're not mad?" Vern asked.
"I'm not happy that you kept this from me, but I'm not all that
surprised, baby."
Vern let a visible sigh of relief. Noticing it, Shirley grinned as
she replied, "I just wish you had told me sooner so that I could get
in on the action."
Vern gave her a perplexed look before Shirley added, "I may not be
able to work with you and the other girls, but there are other ways to
let me enjoy, Vera."
Shirley implied reference to him as a girl made Vern's member stir
even as he wondered what his wife had in mind. He did not have to
wait long before Shirley continued, "If you want to do a Girl Friday,
I see no reason for it to stop and end it in the office, it should be
an all day event."
"You want me around the house like this?" Vern asked.
"Well, want is a strong word. I'd rather have my husband and my best
friend around the house, but I can enjoy having my best girlfriend in
his place for the evening, if that's what she wants."
"I don't want to make you uncomfortable."
"I assure you, Vera, you won't be making me uncomfortable, although, I
can't promise that you'll be super comfortable in your pumps on our
shopping trips."
"Wow, you want me to go out like this?" Vern shrieked.
"There's no reason to keep your pretty face cloistered away."
Shirley's remark made the girls' laugh.
"But what will people think?" Vern asked.
"I don't think most people would think twice about you," Rose chimed
in.
"I don't think anyone will think you're lesbians, if that's what
you're worried about," Cate interjected.
Vern glared at her, knowing that she was well aware that that was not
even on his radar when it came to his concerns about being en femme in
public.
"No. We're far too pretty for that. If Vern wants people to think
we're lesbians, he's got to butch things up a bit, because I sure as
hell won't," Shirley replied.
The girls snickered in response before Vern crossed his arms. Shirley
smiled as she held her arm out for him to hook his own around while
she said, "Off we go, my pretty baby."
