It was early on a Saturday morning and I was in the final stages of
getting dressed, in fact it was a process that I had started the night
before. Eos was right I do look great in this dress.
I had come home one night to find the short white and black polka dot
sleeveless dress hanging from a hanger on my wardrobe door. I know it was
right for me to give her key, but I didn't expect her to do something
like this. I also found an envelope on my bedside cabinet. In the
envelope was a letter from my sister.
The letter said:
Dear Mikki,
I was looking through some of my old clothes and things and I found the
dress. But I didn't want to give it away to charity with some of the
other stuff I was putting together. The dress bought back memories of the
time you told me how cute it was. You told me that I looked great in it.
So this is my present to you.
Mikki, it's alright. Both Mum and I knew of your little secret past time.
I just wish that you had shared it with me. I've always wanted a sister
to hang out with. I don't know if you are still dressing up. But if
you're not just drop it off at the Cancer Charity shop the next time you
go.

I read and reread the letter. Eos had also left me some other feminine
things in a sports bag. I put the letter safely away and I hung the dress
in my wardrobe. I hadn't dressed up in a while. I freely admit I tried to
forget about it, I tried to forget about my past. I slept restlessly that
night.
I tried to live my life normally, but knowing that the dress was there.
And after a few days of agonising about the dress I finally made up my
mind that I had to try it on. But I decided that if I was going to wear
the dress. I was going to prepare myself properly.
That meant removing all my unwanted hair, brushing out my auburn shoulder
length wig, finding the right lingerie and checking that my breast forms
were ok. Making sure my nails were presentable and polished. I also
checked for and found some heels to wear.
And so early on a Saturday morning, a morning I usually had a lie in, I
got up and dressed from the skin out. I took my time and didn't rush. I
relished the chance to become my femme-self. I applied a very subtle
daytime look to my make up not wanting to over do it.
I felt wonderful. And I took several pictures with my phone. I thought
about sending them to Eos. I wrote her a text asking 'What do you think?'
and attached the pictures. Before I knew it I had hit the send button. I
was glad I had kept my nerve.
My phone rang moments later. "Hey Mikki, You're as cute as I thought
you'd be. But we need to go shopping for some black heels to go with your
dress. I'm on my way over. OK sis?"
How could I refuse her? I couldn't and soon I was answering my door to my
sister.
After a mug of tea we were on our way to the local Mall to shop for
shoes. My sister had sorted me a handbag out from the stuff she had sent
over. I felt nervous as I stepped outside dressed as a woman for the
first time, but Eos assured me that I looked fine. And that I would pass
as the woman I was presenting myself as.
The sound of our heels gently clicking against the path slowly relaxed me
and I settled into a delightful feminine walk. And I felt myself
straightening my self up. Eos beside me just smiled.
We tried several stores and found a pair of three inch black court shoes
that I loved and that were comfortable to walk in. I went to pay, but Eos
offered and informed me that the shoes were her treat. I wore them out of
the store.
"Let's grab a coffee and something to eat," Eos suggested. "I think we
both deserve it," she added with a smile. She gently took my hand.
I froze as I spotted our mother. Eos smiled and gently coaxed me over
towards our mother.
"Mikki," she said standing in greeting. "So nice to see you out at long
last." We sat down. "It's about time I got to meet my other daughter."
Mum smiled at me. "You're a very pretty girl Mikki." She reached over and
squeezed my hand. "You needn't have worried."
I was at a loss for words. I didn't know what to say. I looked up at my
sister and mother. All I saw was the love in their eyes. I took a breath.
"I'm sorry I hid for so long," I said. "I was scared. I was unsure what
your reaction would have been." I smiled weakly. "I don't know why I
started." I paused. "But I felt comfortable when I dressed as a girl." I
shrugged. "I feel comfortable now. It's as if this is the real me." I
adjusted my dress slightly.
Eos chuckled. "You might be right Mikki," she looked at our mother. "I
think that I have the sister I've always wanted. But it means." Eos
paused. "Do you want to be a girl Mikki?"
I nodded softly. "Yes," I whispered. "I want to be a girl," I started to
tear up. "I want to be a girl." I reached for a tissue from my handbag.
"Maybe Michael can gently fade away." I chewed my lip. "And Mikki can
take his place?"
Mum smiled. "I'm sure we can work something out."
