Chapter Thirty One
Yvonne walked in to the room and slowly circled Tom checking out his
appearance. She was glad to see that it was in fact a real uniform, and
that except for Tom's masculine face and hairstyle, he did look like a
real working maid.
"Well, to be honest, I really didn't know what to expect," Yvonne said.
"I certainly had my doubts that you would even show up today, let alone
that you would actually come prepared to be a maid. But I am very glad
that you did."
Tom was still too stunned at his current circumstance to say anything.
All he could do was nod his head and listen mutely as Yvonne continued.
"I haven't told any of our customers about you yet, just in case this
was nothing more than a hoax, but I did tell my staff. They were shocked
at first, and maybe even a little disgusted at the idea of having a
sissy working here at the salon with them. There was even some consensus
that a homosexual beautician would be better received by our clientele
than a sissy maid would. After all, there are certainly more of them in
this business, and they are better accepted by the general public than
transvestites, transsexuals, or whatever it is that you identify as."
"However, the more they thought about it, the more excited they became
by the idea," Yvonne said. "There is a lot of non-clientele work that
happens in a salon. We have to wipe down each station after every
client, sweep up the hair off the floor, clean and sanitize the
equipment, wash and dry the towels and robes, and even though we clean
our own stations and take turns with the other jobs; it means less time
with paying customers. Another beautician might help with those non-
paying jobs, but would also mean fewer clients for each of them. A maid
however, especially an unpaid one at that, would give them more time to
spend on each client, or even give them the time to serve more clients.
In fact, one of my staff calculated it out. Depending on what services
they are providing, the time you save them will allow them to see an
additional one to three clients each per day. And while that may not
sound like much, since the average tip is ten to fifteen dollars,
depending again on what services are offered, that can be an extra sixty
to ninety dollars a week for each of them for the two days a week you
are here. Since they get to keep all of their tips, they agreed that it
was worth it to try you out. Aren't you excited?"
Tom thought back to the phone conversation between Yvonne and Princess
Dee. "I-I thought I was just going to be here on Saturdays," he finally
said.
"What's that, Tiffy?" Yvonne asked. "Oh, I guess your owner Princess Dee
neglected to inform you, but when she called me back about giving you
double lobe piercings in each ear we had a lovely conversation. We
agreed that having you work here two days a week would not only help
speed up your maid training, but would also allow me more time to help
you with your new appearance."
Tom was stunned. Not only would he miss out on watching football every
Sunday, but he would now be working seven days a week. Tom was fatigued
just thinking about it.
"The big problem for us then became how would we introduce you to our
clientele without driving them away and destroying our reputation in the
process?" Yvonne said, "We discussed many different options. Joy and
Katy thought we should say that you were transitioning or having a sex
change which requires you to live and work as a woman for a year before
you can have your surgery. Since you were 'unable' to find a job to meet
that requirement, you came to us with the idea of helping out here at
the salon, and that since you were a 'long-term' client of ours we
agreed. However, since you do not have any skills or experience the
solution was to have you work as a maid instead.
"Linda thought that we should say that you were a relative, like a
cousin or nephew who was transitioning instead of a client. I was
inclined to agree with her since our clients would be more understanding
of why we allowed you to work here if they thought we were doing it due
to family obligations.
"Then Jackie our esthetician had a completely different idea. Being a
feminist she thought that we could say that you were doing this to
assuage your male guilt. That you were following in your abusive
father's footsteps and decided to do something before you could hurt
anyone else."
Tom was stunned at what he was hearing. "W-what?" he asked.
"You see, you were turning into an abuser yourself, so after losing
control and slapping your girlfriend one night you had an epiphany. You
knew that the only way that you would ever stop mistreating women and
break the cycle of abuse was to walk a mile in their shoes. And since
you treated your girlfriend as little more than your maid; what better
way for you to atone for your male privilege than to become a maid
yourself? Not only would you give up your masculinity and sexuality, but
you would also give up all semblance of control and power to gain
empathy for those women of subservience that you hold with so little
regard," Yvonne said.
Tom just stared back at Yvonne as he contemplated what exactly she was
saying. My sexuality?" he finally asked.
"Yes," Yvonne continued. "We know all about your chastity device and
that you are scheduled for a piercing next week to help make it more
secure.
"Once you decided what you needed to do, you begged your 'cousin' Jackie
here to help you accomplish it. She talked to us and we agreed. Not

"We feel that our clients will feel the same way as we do. That this is
both punishment and penance for your past. So instead of sympathy and

"Anyway, we all loved this idea, especially me, since I don't want you

also feel that this explanation for your presence here will be better
accepted by our clients than any of the others, although it doesn't bode
well for how they will treat you," Yvonne said as a small smirk crept
along her face.
"Don't worry, you won't be meeting any of them until at least next week.
However we will start telling them all about you starting today.
Instead, we will keep you working in the laundry today and tomorrow as
well as working on your appearance. Jackie and I are going to have so
much fun.
"Now, let's go up front before anyone gets here and get your ears
pierced," Yvonne said as she led Tom from the room, locking it and his
clothes behind them.
