The boys were both working on their make-up first. They had their wig
caps on already and that glazed look in their eyes. They silently smiled
at their reflections as their body moved to its own subconscious rhythm.
Brian was nervous. It had been a long time since he had had the courage
to bring out his 'girlfriends'. They were both his best friends. It was
just a bit complicated.
Jeanie was one of the smartest people he had ever met. He never
understood how she could be so smart and David was such a dummy.
Abby was the queen of style. If you only gave her a 20 dollar gift card
to Walmart, she would still make a sexy outfit. She really knew how to
get Brian going. They hadn't done anything together. She just liked to
play the tease. That would be too weird. Brian thought about it a lot but
something in him just couldn't get past the fact that she was in the same
body as Alex.
Brian had known Alex and David since they were all little. It had all
started as a game they used to play. Brian had always been interested in
magic. Stage magic, of course. Everyone knew magic wasn't real. Brian
always hated David Blaine because he always acted like he was doing
something supernatural.
Everyone knew they were illusions! Tricks were what whores did for money.
Despite Brian's soapbox on magic, there was one thing he was good at that
he had never been able to explain. He had been 12 and Alex and David were
11. Brian had wanted to try a stage magician act. Brian knew that no
magician would go on without a beautiful assistant.
Unfortunately, Brian didn't have any female friends. He was a relatively
well-rounded individual these days at the age of 19, but back then...
Brian winced just thinking about those awkward preteen days.
Anyways, after much begging and pleading, he got Alex to agree to do the
act, but... he was bad. Alex barely knew what a girl was outside of a
coodie factory, let alone how to act like one. Brian had been reading up
on stage hypnotism and the power of belief. He told Alex he would
hypnotize him to relax him and help him get into character.
And he had. He had gotten really into character. Alex became Abby fully.
Alex was about as introverted as it got. Abby was the opposite. She
looked dynamite in her glittery dress that stopped a little above the
knee. She rocked the fishnet and high heels. She even wore a glittery hat
and some satin gloves to finish the outfit. That had been here idea.
She even came up with the name Abby.
They had tried out the act at a local retirement home for seniors. Abby
ate it up and the crowd loved her. Brian and Abby had been best friends
ever since. The only problem was that no one outside of his circle of
friends could know she existed.
In one of his more regrettable acts, Brian had introduced Abby to David.
He never picked up on that Abby was Alex until Brian told him.
Brian had told him everything, but David didn't believe him. He had
called Brian a liar. 12 year old Brian didn't handle accusations like
that very well.
"You don't believe me? Let me show you."
The next time Abby was unleashed, she was introduced to one of Brian's
new friends, Jeanie. Jeanie was a huge dork, but she was so smart.
Whenever they hung out together, Abby did all the talking, Jeanie did all
the heavy intellectual lifting, and Brian was the de facto leader of the
bunch.
David and Alex didn't remember anything about the hypnosis. He made sure
that the two personalities didn't know about each other. At the time,
Brian had a little fun introducing Alex to Jeanie and David to Abby. The
girls like the boys, but both boys REALLY liked the girls.
Brian rubbed his face as he stopped his reminiscing. Those had been
simpler times. Strange times for sure, but they were fun.
David was rolling some nude tights up his legs while Alex did the same
with some purple ones. It used to bother him seeing his friends
transform. He felt weird watching, but had gotten numb to the
transformation over the years. He didn't think about them as the same
person anymore.
They had all lived near each other in the suburbs, but Brian was a year
ahead of them both. He had moved to the city and had his own apartment.
He hadn't had time to see his friends all year though. They hadn't
changed much. Still the slacker burn outs he had left behind.
Brian admired their body shapes as they finished getting ready. David's
body shape looked great on Jeanie. He wasn't fat, but he had some extra
muscle on his legs and hips that gave some definition to Jeanie's legs.
Alex's small, petite frame was a joy for Abby. Both of the boys never
really got on the puberty train. Brian always wondered if it had anything
to do with the hypnosis.
He was worried he had some effect on their biology. He realized it was
crazy, but it ate at him sometimes.
The dichotomy weighed heavy on Brian before he left. Abby lived for the
moment, but Jeanie talked about going to college for and English degree.
She loved to read. The fact that she shared her space with David
unknowingly caused a problem with her plan. Brian hadn't been able to
deal with it so he tried to stop transforming them.
David was slipping into a conservative yellow dress while Alex went for a
frilly blue dress with a black cardigan. Jeanie looked lovely with her
nude tights against her curvy legs and hips. Abby didn't have any curves
to speak of, but she made up for it with her colorful outfits.
David grabbed the shoulder-length brown wig and slipped it onto his head.
Alex did the same for his short dark red wig. Jeanie gave a dreamy smile
as she started to take over. She mindlessly shuffled over to Brian's bed
and slipped on a pair of silvery high heels. Abby repeated the process,
but her flats were a much more colorful blend.
They both sat on the edge of for a moment. There was a pause where they
both sat up straight from their slouches. They both looked up at Brian.
"You girls ready to go?"
"Where did we say we were going again?" Jeanie said as she rubbed her
head. "I can't remember what you were saying."
"You're so forgetful, Jean Jeanie," Abby said.
"Like you're any better."
They both smiled at each other and then turned toward Brian.
"I'm taking you both out to dinner. Remember?"
"That's right!" they both sort-of remembered.
"You're such a sweetie," Abby said. She hopped up and gave him a kiss on
the cheek.
Jeanie, the less bold of the bunch, settled on giving him a hug.
"It's good seeing you again, Brian. How long has it been?"
"Too long," he said as he slipped on his jacket and led the way to the
car.
"How was the drive into the city?" Brian asked as they hopped in his SUV.
"I don't really remember," Jeanie said. "I guess it wasn't too bad."
Brian already knew the answer, but he liked to make conversation like he
would with Adam and David. They didn't remember anything that happened
when they were dormant.
"What have you two been up to?"
"Nothing!" Abby said. "It's so boring up in the burbs. I don't ever get
to see Jeanie anymore since you left. I think she only hangs out with me
to get to you."
She gave Brian an exaggerated wink that got her a smack on the shoulder
from Jeanie in the back.
"No I don't. I've just been busy!" she said with ever reddening cheeks.
"Doing what?" Abby laughed as she put her feet up on the dashboard.
"Trying to get ready for college," she said. "I've been studying when I
can remember too."
"You'd forget your head if it wasn't attached, Jean-Jeanie. I still love
you though, boo."
The dynamic duo kept the conversation focused on themselves as they made
up for lost time. Brian didn't mind. It was good hearing their voices
again after all this time.
After some zig-zagging through the city, the car pulled in front of a
massive hotel. It was a large cylindrical building that looked to Abby
and Jeanie that was at least 70-stories tall.
They both looked up in wonder as the lights of the city glistened off the
side of it.
"Excuse me, sir, but the Brian we knew was WAY too cheap to take us out
to Waffle House. I hope you aren't expecting us to pay," Abby said, still
in awe of the building.
"Atlanta has been good to me. I wanted to take my two favorite ladies out
to dinner."
"Thanks Brian," Jamie said. He turned his head back to flash her a smile.
A valet grabbed their car and gave Brian a ticket as they made their way
to the elevator. The girls raced to get to the elevator first.
It was night and day with their mannerisms. David and Adam walked around
like they just had rented their bodies, but Jeanie and Abby walked heel
to toe always with a nice wiggle to their hips. They both had a bit of
elegant air as they walked. Well...Abby had more of a manic air as she
danced around everywhere, but the idea was the same.
"I think we can see the burbs from here!" Abby exclaimed with her nose
pressed against the glass.
Brian rested his chin on top of her head and looked out the elevator
window.
"You're not wrong. What do you think, Jeanie?"
Jeanie walked up beside them both and looked out.
"It's beautiful."
Brian was inclined to agree. The elevator eventually stopped moving and
opened to reveal a lavish restaurant.
"Good evening, ladies," a ma?tre d greeted said cheerily. "We are looking
quite lovely this evening. Your date cleans up pretty well himself.
Excellent to see you again, Mr. Brian. Will Mr. Folds be joining you?"
"Not tonight, Eddie."
"He's got us all to himself," Abby said with a wink.
"Very good, miss" Eddie smiled. He grabbed three menus and walked them to
their table. The girls marveled at the room. The room was a large circle
with an inner circle on a raised platform. Both rings rotated very slowly
around the windows so that the view of the entire city could be seen
while you eat.
"Brian!" Abby whispered. "The appetizers alone are 50 bucks!"
"Well worth it," Brian said as he looked over the menu.
Jeanie and Abby exchanged a glance and turned back to Brian.
"Brian," Jeanie said. "You didn't have to take us somewhere this fancy."
He looked at the menu for a few more seconds and put it down.
"What do you mean?"
"You've always helped take care of us. You're the only one who helps
support us. Not even our parents do. You don't have to waste this kind of
money on us though"
Brian tried to keep a straight face and take the compliment. The Abby and
Jeanie personalities had kind of developed their own world outside of his
control. They both thought they had terrible parents who didn't care
about them. David and Adam didn't have particularly good parents either,
but at least they were real.
"I didn't do anything you wouldn't do for me," he said as he leaned in.
"You two got me through some rough patches in my life."
He stuck both of his hands out to grab onto theirs. They both blushed as
they rested their hands in his.
"I love you both."
"D'aw" Abby said as looked into her lap. "Is it hot in here or is it just
me?"
"That's really sweet, Brian" Jeanie said. "We love you, too."
"That's why I'm asking you to come live with me in the city. You both
graduated high school and have been killing time since then. Come live
with me in my apartment. I want you both to come work for me."
"What?" they both echoed.
"I'm running my own business now with a partner. "Transgender
Transformation." Atlanta has a huge LGBT population. I've been swamped
with customers, but I can't handle it alone. It would be the easiest
money you'll ever earn."
They both looked at each other and shrugged.
"I don't know," said Jeanie. "I'm scared to come to the city. What if we
don't like it?"
"You'll love it I promise. There are used bookstores everywhere with that
hipster feeling you love."
He turned to look at Abby.
"Dance clubs and bars everywhere. All the fun you're grooving heart could
ask for."
"Can we sleep on it? It's a big decision."
"Absolutely!" Brian said as he waived over the waiter. "First, we eat."
Abby slept in the back of the car after gorging on too much roasted duck.
They had been there for about two hours, but it certainly hadn't felt
like it.
Jeanie had taken her heels off and was massaging the soles of her feet.
"Thanks again, Brian."
"Anytime"
They both made eye contact and blushed as it help for a bit too long.
"What do you think about joining me down here?"
"It would be nice, but I don't think I will. I'm scared I won't like it.
You should live with Abby though. She would love to work for you down
here"
"But I have some money saved up, Jeanie. We can get a house in the
suburbs."
"Brian," she said as she rested her hand on his. "I don't feel
comfortable with you spending that much money just to accommodate me."
Brian took a deep breath. His chest was heavy with disappointment. Jeanie
always had this weird aversion to people helping her. She was polite to
the point of frustration. Sometimes she needed a push in the right
direction...
"Jeanie, what is my favorite song?"
"'Pumpin' for Jill'. You play it all...the...tim..."
Jeanie's head leaned back against her chair. Her breathing became very
peaceful as a smile came over her face.
"Jeanie, can you hear me?"
"Yes..."
Good. It still worked. He had suggested some phrases that would put them
into a trance, but only if they said them. It was a little convoluted,
but they were his friends and he was paranoid that someone else could
learn it.
"You want to come to live with me and Abby..."
"I want to come and live with you and Abby..."
"What did you tell me you wanted to do?"
"I want to live with you and Abby..."
"Where?"
"In the city..."
"Time to wake up," he said. Jeanie didn't react at first. The suggestion
had to settle first in her subconscious. After a few miles of silence,
she yawned and stretched her arms.
"Sorry," she said. "I must have dozed off for a minute. Did you ask me
something?"
"I was just wondering if you were thinking about taking me up on my offer
to come and live with me."
She sat in a bit of a haze for a moment while she tried to think. Brian
could see the gears readjusting in her mind. After a few moments she
reached her hand over and rested it on his arm.
He looked at her hand and then up at her.
"I think that would be lovely," she said with her million dollar smile.
They enjoying the silence as they made their way to Brian's apartment.
He didn't like doing that to Jeanie. She was perfect the way she was. She
just needed some coaxing sometimes to get out of her shell. Abby on the
other hand needed quite a bit of guidance. That girl was a mess. Brian
did his best not to think about the golden dildo incident...
"I showed that roasted duck who was boss," Abby muttered as Brian carried
her into the apartment.
"I know you did, honey," he said as he laid her down on the bed.
He wanted to let the two just go to bed, but he needed to talk to David
and Alex beforehand.
"Jeanie, can you come here for a moment?"
"Sure," she said. He loved the sound of her heels clacking on the
hardwood as she walked to the room.
"It's clean up time. Everybody do your share," he said.
Abby say up from the bed like a woman possessed and followed behind
Jeanie who both shuffled like zombies toward Brian's bedroom. He turned
on the light on the apartment and then joined them in there. He found
them both sitting at the make-up tables he had set up for them. They were
both cleaning up their faces. Their wigs were already off.
He would be lying if it didn't make him sad seeing them both disappear.
It was different from when you tell a friend, "See you soon!"
When Alex and David were around, Jeanie and Abby ceased to exist.
Throughout his high school years with Alex and David, Brian had been
disappointed with the way they had been going through life. Smoking pot
and drinking all the time, blaming everyone else for their problems...
Why should they get to spend all their time in control when Abby and
Jeanie were better people?
That was why Brian had invited them over this weekend. It was time for a
new status quo.
