As Tricia drove home she mulled over her day, certainly not one of the
best as far as she was concerned. The promotion almost promised to her and
been given to the golden boy of the bank. Despite her having more
experience and certainly being better at dealing with people face to face
Ian had managed to persuade the Manager that he was better suited to the
role. The way Ian had looked at her as he offered his commiserations that
she hadn't got the job was so condescending towards her. He even managed
to comment on how nice she looked, at how her dress suited her so well in

Caroline? Come and give me hand please, there is shopping to get out of
the car and I desperately need a cuppa after the day I have had. She
called as she walked through the door her arms laden with groceries bags.
I suppose its a silly question to ask if there is any chance of Kevin
helping she muttered as she saw Zoe and Caroline moving towards her to
help. "Hi Zoe, how about you pop the kettle on while we get the stuff out
of the car? Be careful Caroline, I think the yoghurt may be leaking a bit
in that bag " as she was helped by her sister to empty the car. Only once
the car was emptied and the tea brewed did they sit down and noticed that
both of the girls seemed slightly nervous. " Ok, out with it, what have
you done, want to do or need to tell me. I just know when something is up
with you Caroline and as for you Zoe, you are hopping up and down like you
need a wee you are so nervous. What else can go wrong with my day?" The
two girls sat on the sofa and gradually told the sorry tale of Kevin and
his attempts at becoming a peeping tom. Clearly they were nervous despite
the fact they had doe nothing wrong but didn't quite know how Tricia would
take their decision not to take hime straight to the Headmaster.
" So just to get it completely clear, he was peeping, you caught him but
nobody else either knows or saw anything of this incident?" Tricia asked
them once the tale was complete. " Thats about the measure of it Tricia ,
we just didn't know what to do and thought that you would know how to deal
with it. Will he get arrested and locked up and go to prison? Oh Gosh! I
can just see him in a mans prison , just imagine what would happen to
him!" Zoe had a look of sort of horror but also a slight smirk as her
mind ran through the possibilities. "I need to think about this for a
while, Zoe you have been a real bestie to Caroline today helping her with
that creature upstairs. How about you pop off home now and Caroline can
fill you in on how I decide to handle it. Just at this precise moment I
don't know myself but I am going to take a glass of wine up to the bath,
soak and sip and think. Can you let the creature know he is not to venture
out of his room until I call him sweetie?' glancing over her over her
shoulder at Caroline leaving the room with a weary pace in her step.
The two girls has a a quick giggle as they imagined the rage Tricia would
be in once she had thought about Kevin's behaviour. With a brief hug, Zoe
left after insisting Carline ring her later to fill her in on the gory
details of the Kevin's fate. After about half an hour, not wanting to miss
out on any of the drama Caroline picked up the wine bottle and went
upstairs and tapped on the bathroom door. " Need a top up Trish? May I
come in?" Opening the door and entering the steam filled room she sat
demurely on the lid of the loo as her sister lay back surrounded by
bubbles with her empty glass held between her fingers. Fully expecting
Tricia to be in a foul mood Caroline was surprised when Tricia smiled at
her and told her the news. " I think I may have found a solution to our
problem guest. After todays performance he will either be leaving us
tomorrow, never to return or he will be changing his disgusting habits in
a big way. I have to phone Sally and tell her and run my options by her
and then deal with him so if you could hand me that towel, I am on a
mission" standing up and holding her hand out for Caroline to hand her
towel . " I will come and let you know when I am ready to deal with him
and I will need you to be there to back me up. Have you got Homework to
do? You should have time to get some done while I ring Sally and get
dressed' was her parting comment as she walked down the hall to her
bedroom with the towel wrapped around her.
As Caroline sat at the kitchen table working her way through why Lady
Macbeth acted the way she had and why Macbeth was so easy to wrap around
her little finger, she was aware of the muted sound of Tricia obviously
talking on the phone upstairs. At times she thought her sister sounded
angry but then again, that may have been laughter or even a giggle just
now. Either way she couldn't hear properly so had to be content to wait
and see what lay in store for the pervert. In her mind she could see him
being dragged kicking and screaming into a Police van by a team of
specially trained riot police .. but then the absurdity of that scene
faded to be replaced by the meeting in the headmasters office. The
headmaster removing the old fashioned cane from its hooks on the wall to
administer the beating Kevin clearly deserved before being thrown
physically out onto the street. So? Even 17 yr old girls have daydreams.
But her dreams were cut short as Tricia walked in, bathed, hair dried and
looking determined and sort of forceful. " Right Caroline, I am going to
bring him down and we will go through this together, calmly, carefully and
with no doubt as to how severely I view this. I have spoken to Sally and
told her about it all and she has given me her permission to deal with him
however I decide is suitable. How it ends up will be up to Kevin but
either way, our problem perve will be no more. Ok? I think the lounge will
be a better place for this chat so you go and sit down while I bring him
down." A strange feeling swept over Caroline as she went and sat down,
almost speaking with excitement at seeing how Kevin was going to meet his
comeuppance.
A few minutes later a stern looking Tricia escorted an ashen faced,
terrified looking young man into the lounge and whilst she sat down he was
instructed to stand before the two of them to further his humiliation. A
Masterly performance as prosecuting council by Tricia, led Caroline
through the facts with the occasional question to Kevin to either admit or
deny the story as Caroline told it, with the threat of calling in Zoe
should he wish to challenge anything he disputed. His by now tear streaked
face told its own story. Abject fear and complete and utter removal of any
trace of the man now replaced by a child being told off. Caroline was
entranced by the change that had come over the Kevin she once knew to what
he was now, she would not have been surprised if he had wet himself so
complete was his fall from grace. Once the story was told, his admission
of guilt accepted all that was left to deal with was the sentence. It
would have been wrong for him to remain in the room for the deliberations
so he was instructed to return to his bedroom while Tricia discussed his
future together. The sobbing snot dribbling boy shuffled slowly up to his
room wondering what his outcome was to be. The thought of being sent to a
remand hostel filled him with dread, even having to admit to the
Headmaster sent shivers down his spine and reduced him to further bouts of
sobbing.
As soon as the door closed behind him as he shuffled out Tricia's stern
face dissolved into fits of giggles as she desperately tried to muffle the
sounds from the departing condemned man. Caroline was initially stunned
but then equally saw the funny side of it now and the two hugged each
other as they tried to giggle quietly and not give away their satisfaction
of how well that had gone. The complete acceptance of Kevin' s expectation
of being hauled away with all the accompanied horrors it portrayed to him
had done the trick completely. The girls tried hard to compose themselves
but decided to prolong his agony by having a cup of tea and leave him to
imagine his fate for a few minutes longer. Despite Caroline asking and
then pleading to be told what Tricia had decided ,she remained tight
lipped and told her younger sibling to see how it developed and wait.
The tea drunk, the girls composed, a fearful Kevin was summoned to appear
before the Judge for sentence. Tricia told him to stand in front of her
armchair and sat down, sweeping her dress under her as she assumed a regal
pose. Right Kevin, there is no way that you can continue staying here with
us. Your behaviour today was disgusting and had it been discovered by
anybody other than Zoe, the shame that would have reflected onto us would
have been immense. A Bank employee with a pervert staying with her? I
don't think so! So, I will make the necessary calls tomorrow and you can
go to one of those Council homes for foster children until either `Sally
or your parents return. I am well aware of how "rough" you think some of
the boys there are but you are totally to blame for your own behaviour and
must accept the consequences. That will be after we have returned to your
school to see the headmaster so you can admit to him what you did and why.
We can't be sure nobody else saw you so it is fair that you admit to your
behaviour before somebody else reports you. I have no doubt that he will
exclude you immediately on the grounds of sexual harassment. Can you
imagine what those girls parents will say when they find out. Whether or
not he decides to involve the Police will be a matter for him and the
school Governors but my money would be on being a Police cell at some time
tomorrow. I suggest you go and start packing your things together for the
morning. Get out of my sight, you disgust me!
The final phrase was said in such a clipped, authoritative voice that
Kevin finally gave in completely as his mind sought to take in what had
just been said. Whilst thinking so hard of such an immense punishment, his
legs gave way and he collapsed to the floor ,once more sobbing so hard his
body was wracked with heaving gasping breaths as he struggled to cry,
breathe, think all at the same time, the effort almost being too much for
him.
Caroline sat here wide eyed in astonishment having listened to Tricia tell
Kevin of his fate and his complete and utter destruction by her. She had
never seen her sister tear someone apart before and as she looked over
towards her sisters hardened face she noticed a tiny smile and a wink as
he put a finger to her lips to instruct Caroline to keep quiet.
"Kevin, I am waiting , off you go and start packing. I don't even want to
see you anymore " the same steely voice commanded. Poor Kevin's brain
could just about absorb the command element in the phrase and voice and he
began to unfold his crumpled body from the floor to stand. Something
within the survival part of the brain instructed him to attempt to
negotiate his way out of this situation and he flung himself back onto his
knees in front of Tricia , wrapping his arms around her legs below her
knees, his face dripping tears down her shins and onto her shoes.
"Pleeeeease Tricia, don't do this! Pleeeasse, let me stay! I will never do
anything like that again! It was only the one time! Pleeeease. The boys in
a foster home would Kill me. Pleeeease Tricia I will do anything you want
just don't put me in a foster home." His speech was barely understandable
through his sobs but what she heard made Tricia smile and look up at
Caroline who was looking stunned at Kevin from across the room. That wink
again from Tricia intrigued her but she was still at a loss as to Kevin's
fate.
Wanting to make the most of the situation Tricia began to tease him by
pointing out that it was his behaviour that was responsible for his
expulsion from their home, his behaviour that brought all the trouble down
onto his head. Her words only increased his sobbing and pleading as he yet
again said he would do anything to avoid his punishment. With the
intuition that the time was about ready Tricia gently unwrapped his arms
from around her legs and brought his chin up until he was looking straight
into her eyes. " If I thought you really meant that Kevin I might have
given you another chance but I know that you would backslide on any
agreement to behave as I want you to. I fear its too late for you now".
The exquisite look of fear briefly faded as he thought that he may be
given a second chance only to have the fear return as Tricia said" Up on
your feet Kevin, you have packing to do". Once again he began his pleading
and begging and that was the moment she had been waiting for. A sharp slap
across his face forced him to be quiet for a moment as the one and only
lifeline was held out to him. " Do you really mean that you will do
anything I want to avoid going to a foster home? Whatever punishment I
decide? No ifs or buts just total obedience? " With some tiny degree of
hope he began to promise whatever, whenever for whatever time period, no
arguments, whatever Tricia wanted he would agree to. Gotcha! Tricia
thought as the fish took the bait, hook, line and sinker. Even Caroline
began to grasp the significance of his agreement realising her days of
washing up, cleaning may soon be over as she imagined Kevin as their live
in servant.
"Kevin, you are going to get one last chance and one chance only. You will
go to your room and write out a full confession with all the gory details
as to what you did and why. You may return to me here once it is done and
I will consider if I believe your part of our bargain." Tricia said
dismissively pointing to the stairs. With the speed of a greyhound after
the rabbit he shot upstairs and into his room. Turning to Caroline with
that smile again Tricia informed her that the punishment was going to very
different from anything he had ever encounter before but still refused to
divulge what it was going to be. "When he comes back, providing he has
done as I have told him and seems genuinely sorry I will take him upstairs
to deal with him. I don't need any help and if you just wait here for me I
think you will be pleasantly content with what I have in mind. Just ignore
any noise from upstairs while I deal with him". Despite her obvious
curiosity Caroline agreed and started looking for a DVD to watch to be
able to drown out the screams she was expecting may occur.
Both girls looked up as after a timid tapping on the door Kevin returned
with several pages of handwriting which he handed to Tricia with downcast
eyes and went to sit down.With quiet menace in her voice a simple question
was directed at him" Did I say you could sit down?' Kevin jumped back onto
his feet and stood in front of Tricia as she read the complete story of
his deeds before handing it to Caroline for her verification of the
affairs. " And that is the full story, No omissions or conveniently
forgotten details? You agree as well Caroline"? A nod from Caroline and a
timid "Yes Tricia" from Kevin seemed to satisfy Tricia as she folded it
carefully and placed it into her handbag. " Now for my agreement" she said
handing over one page of simple sentences.
I will do whatever Tricia and Caroline tell me to.
They will be in command of everything I do.
I will do their bidding willingly and with good grace.
I understand this is to last for the rest of Term and the whole school
holidays and will be reviewed dependant on my behaviour in September.
I understand that any reneging on this contract will result in my
confession being sent to the Police and the Headmaster.
His eyes raced over the sentences and his poor confused mind seemed to
miss the hidden implications but as it would avoid his immediate perilous
situation he picked up the pen and signed it followed by first Tricia and
then Caroline as witnesses. The precious document followed his confession
into Tricia's handbag as she stood up and turning to Caroline added" We
are just going upstairs, we might be some time" with a giggle and a
crooked beckoning finger to Kevin. " You and I have some important things
to discuss and do, Upstairs now! " Like a lamb to the slaughter the two of
them went upstairs closing the lounge door behind them.
Caroline tried to watch her chick flick to drown out the noises from
upstairs but some of the cries and pleading was hard to ignore. There were
periods of quiet, periods of shouting followed by the pleading and crying.
Her expectations of Kevin returning beaten black and blue were foremost in
her mind when after what was at least two hours Tricia returned downstairs
and sat down. " Oh Tricia, you haven't ...killed him have you? " Caroline
asked with genuine concern for his physical well being. " Oh Caroline
trust me, I wouldn't do that to him, lets just say that a new chapter has
started for Kevin" as a tapping on the door interrupted their
conversation. " Come in Katie and sit down, we have a lot to talk about
together". Caroline's confusion over the reference to a "Katie" was
further compounded when the door was opened by a girl, maybe 13 or 14, in
her school uniform, skirt, blouse, long socks, black shoes, shortish
hairstyle and a hint of makeup. "Caroline, meet Katie. She will be with us
for the rest of the term and the summer ." as the girl timidly walked in
and stood in the centre of the room and bobbed an incredibly clumsy and
gaudy curtsey to Caroline.
