A short horror story for Halloween and not for the sweet/sentimental

David James just turned eighteen, the only son of Mary James and
becoming a problem. He was hanging with the wrong boys, drinking and
smoking pot. His first six weeks grades were C's and D's, got
detention at lest twice a week and Mary was very upset. Up until the
nasty divorce two years ago, David had been a good student and son.
Now, it was all Mary could do just to make him take out the garbage.
His behavior would certainly get him sent to prison if he continued
along the path he was on. She was certain of it. With that in mind
turned to her best friend, Millie.
Millie Evans was a seamstress by profession and owned a children's
clothing store. Her specialty was creating very frilly little girl
dresses and undergarments. In other words, she used a lot of glass
silk and floral lace in her satin and chiffon creations. She was
twenty years older than Mary and widowed. When David was a baby up
until he became a toddler, Mary dressed him like a girl. Her husband
of course objected but told it made diaper changes so much easier,
relented. The last thing he wanted to do was change a diaper. That's
how Millie and Mary became friends. Over the years maintained that
friendship. After the divorce they became even closer. Millie's real-
life experiences helped Mary become independent. From her advice two
years ago regarding how to invest the assets from the divorce, Mary
didn't have to work.
It was mid-October when Mary invited Millie over for tea one evening.
The tea was actually a bottle or two of wine. Like their other teas,
Mary lamented over David's behavior. This time she mentioned that it
was so much easier when he was a baby. Hearing that Millie's eyes lit
up. Mary had no idea that for most of Millie's married life, she kept
her husband dressed as a toddler girl.
"I miss having my precious little girl so much. Maybe I can fix it so
I can enjoy having her back," Millie thought.
"Mary, I have an idea. One if you agree, just might solve all your
problems. Halloween is coming up in a couple of weeks. What if
someone invites David to a costume party. Let's say a pretty girl he
knows but doesn't date. An invitation he won't refuse," she began.

David couldn't believe it when he got the invitation to a costume
party. The invitation card was an orange pumpkin and came from Cindy
Edwards. Cindy was a cheerleader at his high school who normally
didn't give him the time of day. He had to double check the envelope
to make sure it was really addressed to him.
"Cindy sent me an invitation to a party? I don't understand it but
I'll be damned if I'm going to pass this chance up. Mom has me
grounded until my grades pick up not that it matters. I sneak out
anyway but this says I have to have a fancy costume. I can't go as a
bum or bandit. I'll need a real costume and can't sneak out. Guess I
have no choice but to beg Mom to let me go," he thought.
At first Mary refused when he approached her. It wasn't until he
agreed to do anything that she agreed. Agreed, provided he would wear
whatever costume she got for him with no arguments.
"I can agree to anything for the chance to be with Cindy. I just
didn't promise to do anything she wants once the party is over," he
thought.
Once David was out of sight, Mary called Millie, "Millie, he bought it
just like you said he would. He swore that he wouldn't complain about
whatever costume I get for him. Still, I'm not sure what will happen
when he sees it. He's small for his age but I don't think I'm strong
enough to make him wear it."
"Mary, I thought of that already. I have a friend Jane, she's a nurse
and lives outside town. Spends a lot of her time taking care of
migrant farm workers. She sent me some pills to give to David before
you give him his costume. Jane also included a CD for you to relieve
the stress. She assures me, he won't give you any problems then. Come
by tomorrow and I'll give them to you," Millie said.
When Mary showed up, she was surprised by what Millie gave her. A
large bottle of purple pills and three amber prescription containers.
The only markings on the bottles where how and when to administer them.
The CD had the instruction to listen to it at bed time. There was also
a small bottle of pills for her to take before bed. According to
Millie they were supposed to help her sleep. Mary wasn't sure about
using any of those pills. Afterall, this was for only one night but
Millie convinced her. Mary put them in her purse figuring she could
just throw the additional pills in the trash. Before leaving picked up
the costume as well. On Friday night decided to listen to the CD and
took the sleeping pill. David had managed to get a week's suspension
from school for fighting. She was still very upset with him and
Halloween was tomorrow.
"I wasn't going to give him those pills but now he's given me no
choice. He promised to be good and look what he goes and do. Expelled
for a week! I just hope what Millie suggested works. Looks like I'm
going to need to take that pill and listen to the CD her friend sent I
so mad," she thought.

Saturday morning Mary woke up feeling surprisingly relaxed and happy.
She spent more of the morning thinking just how cute David would be
wearing his costume. As for David he spent most of the day on the
couch watching college football games. While the games were good he
especially like it when the camera panned the girl dance teams. He
would pick out one or two he would love to date as the camera panned.
These were the girls he was likely to jerk off to later that night.
At six Mary brought him a ham and cheese sandwich and glass of milk.
"Honey, here's something to eat before you get your costume on. The
party starts at seven thirty and we have a lot to do, so, eat up; then,
up to my room," she said.
As he ate, Mary was in her master bathroom preparing a flowery bubble
bath. On the counter there was a bottle of depilatory, floral scented
body lotion and baby powder. With the tub almost filled called for
David to come there. When she received no response, went to get him.
The sandwich was mostly eaten and the milk glass empty. He was sitting
on the couch staring at nothing. "Apparently those pills are working,"
she thought lifting him up.
He was able to walk but needed her support as she took him into the
bathroom. There she stripped him, covered his torso and lower face
with the strong depilatory and waited until it worked. Helping him
into the bath, picked up the loofa sponge and began washing him. Out
of the tub David was hairless from the lower face down to his pink
toes. At the sink she washed and conditioned his shoulder length brown
hair. He seemed to be totally unaware but capable of movement with
assistance. Dried, covered in floral body lotion and his groin in baby
powder, she took him into the bedroom laying him on the bed.
The first thing she did was assemble the boxes containing his costume.
From the first box removed a pick cotton diaper and a dozen soaker
pads. With the pads in place quickly pinned the diaper closed using
the pink diaper pins. The diaper on made his bottom look like a bright
pink beach ball. The bright white satin plastic panties with floral
lace trimming the leg openings and back were next. They made a loud
crinkling sound as she pulled them up. The final item from that box
was a lavender colored pair of tights.
"Oh my, he looks so precious wearing that. Just like when he was my
baby girl," she thought smiling broadly.
Taking the lavender satin training bra from the next box pulled it up
his arms, fastened it in back and adjusted the satin straps. "Don't
know why Millie included this. She's a toddler but with that cute
purple satin bow between the cups looks cute," she mused.
Next out of the box was literally yards and yards of baby pink chiffon
petticoats. They flared out not quite horizontally exposing the lower
half of David's bottom. The final item from this box was a pair of
lavender patent leather Mary Janes with a two-inch wedge heel. Mary
noticed that there were small bumps on the inside at the heel. She
thought that strange but put them on him.
The last box contained the dress and accessories. The empire cut dress
with flare skirt was made of a lustrous lavender satin tied off with a
pink satin sash just below the bust line. It had sheer lavender
chiffon balloon short sleeves trimmed heavily in pale pink ice silk
that hung to the elbows. The skirt was tiered with each tier hemmed in
three inches of pale pink floral lace. It buttoned up the back with
small pearl buttons and a perfect fit.
As she was doing all that Mary was humming happily. She kept thinking
how lovely it would be to have this pretty toddler girl around all the
time. The fact that David was giving her no argument and cooperating
even more pleasing to her.
"You know he deserves to be punished for getting expelled and fighting.
Maybe I should just keep him this way for the entire week. It would be
nice for a change to have my baby back," she thought guiding him over
to her vanity.
At the vanity, she parted his hair across the forehead and down the
middle. Using scissors trimmed the front leaving bangs just above the
eyebrows. Seeing his bushy brows, picked up the tweezers and began
plucking. When she finished, they were in high feminine arches.
"Might have gotten carried away there but it makes his face look so
adorable," she though as she began braiding the left side of his hair.
With his hair in braided pig tails tied off with bright lavender satin
bows, she began working on his face. A white base to give his face a
porcelain doll look, pink blended into pale pink eyeshadow for the
lids, rose blush for the cheeks, black mascara and liner and a bright
fire engine red long-lasting lipstick finished his makeup. Mary was
beside herself with joy gazing upon the beautiful doll she had created.
"Looking this beautiful I can't call you David any more. If you had
been born a real girl, I would have named you Cheryl Lynn. A name as
feminine and sweet looking as you are now," she said getting the
accessories.
Pale pink ball mittens, a pacifier with three-inch rubber nipple
fastened around the neck and a short sheer white frilly bib apron
completed David's costume. As she was fastening the apron, David
became a bit more lucid.
"Whe..where am...am I? Was...What's going on? Am I..I drunk? I'm
standing but nothing feels right. Like I'm going to fall an...and I..I
can't bring my legs together. I can't have gotten drunk. The..the
last thing I..I remember was Mom saying something about my...my
costume. Did I...I get drunk at the party?" he thought very confused
and having difficulty with his mobility.
When Mary guided him over to the full-length mirror after taking
numerous pictures, David found his voice. "What the fuck! What did
you do to me?" he yelled.
"Cheryl that's no way for a little girl to speak. It's your costume
for tonight's party," Mary admonished shoving the pacifier into his
mount and fastening it tight. "I'll take that out when you can control
your filthy tongue."
David didn't know what to think or do for a few moments he was so
enraged over what his mother had done. His first reaction was to
strike out but still didn't have full control of his body. All he
managed to do was fall down on his heavily padded ass. The dress and
petticoats flying up as he did so. To his horror felt himself peeing
as he sat there in total humiliation.
Mary grabbed him under the arms and pulled him up. "It's time to go.
As you can see you are in no position to argue with me. Tonight you're
a toddler girl and since you got expelled, will stay my little girl for
at least the next week. As you will discover or have already, you are
in no condition to stop me," she stated.

Mary didn't take him to Cindy's house like he feared. Instead, took
him to Millie's house. She didn't tell him that seeing him squirming
in his seat. "Let him think I'm taking him to Cindy's party looking
like that. When we get to Millie's, he'll be more than happy to hand
out candy to all the trick or treater kids," she thought.
David was indeed sweating bullets by the time they reached Millie's
place. All he could think about and imagine was being exposed in his
costume to a bunch of his high school classmates. When that happened,
he might as well be dead. He could never live down the humiliation and
any thoughts of going out on dates, forgotten. It wasn't until he was
actually in the house and no classmates visible did he relax.
"Mom had me scared to death coming here. I thought that old woman was
Cindy's grandmother. I don't see anyone I know either. Guess she was
just trying to scare the hell out of me and punish me for getting
expelled. Still, I don't like these strangers seeing me like this," he
thought in relief.
"Cheryl this is Miss. Millie. You're going to be passing out candy
tonight if you behave. Otherwise, I will take you to Cindy's party.
Understand? Now I'm going to take out your paci and better be nice or
else," she said as Millie stood over him smiling broadly.
"My, what a darling young lady you've become. Now, it's proper for a
young girl like yourself to curtsey when meeting someone. I'll show
you how; then, you copy what I do little girl," she said dipping into a
curtsey.
"I'm not a little girl. I feel like a complete idiot but I better do
what she says or Mom will take me to that party," he thought doing a
clumsy version of a curtsey.
"That was nice little girl but you do need to practice. Mary, I want
you to meet a friend of mine. This is Jane, she was a big help to me
after I married Gerald," she said.
Jane was in her early sixties, gray hair tied in a bun wearing a brown
pants suit. Her tanned skin was wrinkled from many hours spent out in
the sun. Holding out her hand to Mary greeted, "It's a pleasure to
meet you Mary. Millie has told me so much about you and your child.
If you'll let me, I think we can become good friends. Did your little
girl give you any problems tonight?"
"Oh no, thanks to those pills you gave me. He...errr...I mean she was
very docile until just before we came here," she replied.
"I was more than happy to help. Look, while we have a glass of wine,
why don't you listen to a recording I brought. It will help you relax
so that you can enjoy this evening," Jane said taking Mary arm and
leading her to the kitchen. "Millie, will you see that Cheryl gets
settled in before joining us," she added.
"I want to go with Mom," David said as Millie took a firm grip on his
hand.
"You'll have plenty of time with your mommy later. Now come along I
have a play pen set up for you in the nursery. Or, I can take you to
Cindy's. Which will it be?" she answered.
With the shoes which forced him to walk on tip toe and the bulky
diaper, David waddled more than walked. He would have fallen more than
once if Millie hadn't a strong grip. With the ball mittens and
clothing, he was pretty helpless and meekly followed. The room she
took him too was a little girl's room. Disney Princesses, puppies and
kittens decorated the pale pink painted walls. It was filled with
adult sized baby furniture. A crib with side rails and wire mesh top
cover, changing table with a lavender padded mat, shelves filled with
diapers and other baby needs. Occupying one corner a large play pen
with stuffed animals and dolls.
"In you go little girl. Feel free to play with any of the toys. While
you wait here, I'm going to put these earbuds on and put on some nice
music for you to listen to. Here's a sippy cup with orange juice too.
Now, play nice nice with your toys and I'll be back later to check on
you," she said.
As soon as she left David tried to remove the earbuds. The music he
was hearing, a little girl singing nursery rhymes. The earbuds were
wireless and with his balled fists couldn't get them out.
"I can't wait for this day to get over with. Now I've got to listen to
this shit! I've never been so embarrassed or scared," he thought and
with a sign, sat down bemoaning his fate. He was thirsty and took a
swallow of the orange juice. Soon after his eyes went unfocused.
In the kitchen Jane gave Mary a glass of wine and a set of earbuds.
"Listen to this while we talk Mary. The music is soft and shouldn't
interfere with us talking. It's just something I found working as a
nurse that relieves stress," she said as they sat at the table. The
music was barely within hearing but soothing, so Mary didn't object.
She took a long sip of the wine; then another. When Millie joined
them, Mary's eyes were unfocused.
"Jane are you sure about this? I know what you did for my Gerald was a
dream come true for me," she asked seeing Mary staring off into space.
"Of course, Millie. Between the drugs and my recordings, they will
come around just like your precious Geraldine. It just takes some time
but after tonight, they will both be listening to them all the time.
With them both at home, I think in a week's time everything should work
out. Geraldine had a job and it took a little longer to work. With
Cheryl expelled and her not working, they'll absorb everything quickly.
Well, I have a long drive ahead of me, so, I'll leave now. Enjoy your
new family Millie," Jane responded.

Mary's eyes fluttered open. "Where am I?" she thought looking around.
There was soft music coming from somewhere and she was wearing a
flannel nightgown with a small pink rose print. Getting out of bed she
saw a pink terry robe draped over the back of a chair and a pair of
slippers. Putting that on, stepped out of the room still hearing the
soft music. Mary was a bit confused, remembering only bringing David
to Millie's place and meeting Jane.
"How much wine did I have last night. Can't recall anything once I sat
at the kitchen table," she thought entering the living room.
"Good morning Mary dear. Come join me in a cup of coffee," Millie said
from the kitchen.
"Morning mom...Millie," Mary replied. "Now why did I almost call her
momma? Oh well, no matter. I really need that cup of coffee and why
am I still hearing that music. Does she have the house wired?" she
thought.
"You must have really been worked up last night Mary dear. You did a
number on my wine stash. You know you shouldn't be drinking that much
and driving, so you spent the night here. I put your little girl up in
the playpen for the night. I checked earlier and she was sleeping
peacefully," Millie said as Mary got her coffee.
"Little girl? Oh yes, David. He does make a precious little girl and
so much nicer than being a nasty boy. Yes, I'm going to keep him like
that for the week. A fitting punishment for his behavior. I'll get
him once I've had some breakfast," she thought taking a sip from her
coffee cup.
"Thank you mom..err..Millie," she replied. "I'll get her once I've had
a bite if you don't mind. Cereal would be just fine."
"It's okay Mary dear. I don't mind if you call me momma. As a matter
of fact, I'm pleased you want to. Here, let me refill that coffee for
you," Millie said smiling broadly.
Mary didn't see Millie put a tablespoon of brown liquid into the cup.
Not long after she drank the second cup, her eyes went blank. Millie's
smile broadened as she watched Mary zone out.
"Time to change that CD for her; then, fix little Cheryl her morning
bottle and change hers. Have to put those virtual reality visors on
them as well," she thought getting up from the table.
David woke up hearing a little girl singing nursery rhymes. "Wha..what
I still hear that..song. Why am I holding a teddy bear? I'm soaked
and think I pooped too. Wha...what's happening to me?" he thought in a
panic.
Not long after Millie walked in. "Good morning little girl. Here,
I've brought you your ba-ba. You can drink it while I get you changed
into a clean die-dee," she greeted all smiles.
"I don't want a clean die-dee. I want my boxers back...but...but I may
need another diaper," he thought as he felt more pee dribble into the
diaper.
Helping him stand, Millie led David over to the changing table. As he
waddled beside her, could feel the cold mush shifting inside his
diaper. He was more than happy to step up onto the table.
Pulling up his dress and petticoats, fastened him securely to the
table. Before she started removing the diaper, pressed the nipple of
the bottle to his lips.
"No fussing or I won't change your die-dee until you drink it all up,"
she admonished.
David had some difficulty holding the bottle and the warm sweetened
milk unappetizing but he began sucking. Wearing a dirty diaper was
something he wanted out of as soon as possible. He would be
embarrassed having a stranger doing it but had no choice.
"This is going to be so embarrassing even if it was my own mother
instead of Nanna. Nanna? Why did I just think that?" he thought as
Millie unpinned the diaper.
By the time she finished changing David, his mind was a blank page like
his Mom's. Millie placed him into the crib and fastened the virtual
reality visor in place and changed the CD. What David saw were six-
year-old girls going through daily life. As that played, his mind was
absorbing how much he wanted to be one of those little girls.
As David was being programmed, Mary was under going her own mind
bending. She was seeing herself as a young girl and Millie was her
mother. She even had a little sister. Her program also made her want
to be that young carefree young girl again.

"Mary Margaret, wake up," and Mary's eyes opened.
"Yes, Momma, I'm awake," she replied.
"Okay young lady. I need you to sign some papers for me; then, you and
your sister can live here with me," Millie said passing several
documents to her.
"I can't read all these big words but Momma said I had to sign them. I
can do that," Mary thought.
What Mary signed was a legal name change for David to Cheryl Lynn,
Perpetual power of attorney for Millie and adoption papers making both
of them wards of Millie. Nurse Jane stood by to witness the documents
and a friend of hers notarized them.
With that completed Millie said, "Mary, my young lady, go get Cheryl
changed and dressed. Make sure you use plenty of soaker pads. You
know how messy she can be. When you've done that we'll be in the
kitchen."
Mary happily skipped into the nursery where little Cheryl was sleeping
in her crib. "I think today we'll play dress up. Momma made us some
pretty party dresses too. I'm so glad I have a little sister to play
with," she thought lowering the side rail.
Mary helped Cheryl onto the changing table and removed the violet
organza and chiffon baby doll nightie. Strapping Cheryl to the table
carefully removed the very messy diaper. She wrinkled her nose as she
dropped it into the diaper pail.
"Little sister you made a really big mess this morning," she said with
a giggle.
She had to hold her little sister's hand as the beach ball sized diaper
made Cheryl waddle. She stood wobbling as Mary pulled the violet satin
covered diaper cover up Cheryl's legs. A matching training bra was
hooked in place. Going to the closet took out the full white net
petticoats and the party dress. The empire styled dress was a purple
satin with round neckline and large puffed short-sleeves trimmed in
white floral lace. Translucent white silk lace trimmed the neckline
and hem. Over the dress would go a white organza pinafore ruffled silk
lace apron. White nylon ankle socks with purple ruffled lace and
violet patent leather Mary Janes completed Cheryl's dressing. Once
Cheryl was dressed, Mary handed her favorite dolly over. Hand in hand
they walked to Mary room where she quickly put on the same outfit.
Grabbing her matching dolly, they skipped into the kitchen. Giggling
all the way as their petticoats bounced up and down.
