Daniel and I grew up in a period of time in which men were men, women
were women and nothing else was acceptable. We had been friends since 4th

other, even though I had won more archery awards then he did.
Years later we he'd reached the senior leadership of the Ranger Boys.

rubbing two sticks together, went camping in the woods or in the snow, a
weekend retreat during the school year, sometimes weeks in the

celebrations and cabins for the adults, but the Rangers would still be in
tents but that the site was in the middle of a pine forest and the ground

"Good, I'm glad that will work for you two," the master replied, "I'll
make the change in the tent assignments and the duty roster as well, you
guys will need to split Hal's responsibilities. Let's see, well your
lucky, since the have outhouses on site you wouldn't have to worry about

At last good news, first someone to tent with that doesn't smell all the

Meanwhile, I went out with another group to gather firewood, small and
medium size branches and logs, chop them up and make sure we had enough
wood for the evening fires and morning fires. I was surprised by how much
we need for heating and cooking. By the time we had returned we had a

to much then to little. Next it was time to get the first fire stacked up
and ready to light. Once the main camp fire was going it was time to get

I looked over and saw Daniels taking our packs up to the tent he had
finished pitching. While most of tents were encircled around the prides
fire our was just a bit farther than the others. I gave the group and
pride fires one last check to make sure it was burning well for those
assigned to starting cooking for the evening. Finally having taken care
of my duties for a while I headed over to the tent. On my way over I
looked around and saw no sight of Daniel anywhere, that was until I stuck
