JOALT - chapter 6 - the war of 1812 - G
Chris and Daniel head home after their memorable camping trip. The
weekend is over, Chris panics when he doesn't see Daniel in School as he
normally would. Why? What's up? Post events regrets?
chapter 6 - the war of 1812
The morning after was un-eventful. We both acted like nothing had
happened, just an awkward smile between friends. We both got up rolled up
our bags, dressed, put our dirty things away. Just small chit chat about
the weather having a September chill in the air this morning. Thinking to
my self that the next time we go out camping we could have snow on the
ground, I could really do without that. So Daniel and I went about our
morning duties until it was time to pack up the vans once again and head
home to a nice hot bath to wash the forest off. That night I couldn't
help but to replayed the actives that Daniel and I shared in my head, and
hands. Drifting off to sleep with with a smile.
RRIIINNNGGG! The alarm clock sounded as Monday morning came like a
freight train at me. I was not ready to go to school. I just finished up
the best weekend of my life, had a wonderful full filling adventure with
Daniel, Daniel, school, today! Oh my god, I'll see him again, how should
I handle this. No one knows, just he and I, we did nothing wrong, he's
not telling anyone, I'll never tell Liz, don't panic Chris! I had to calm
myself down. What is wrong with me! It's Dani, I mean Daniel, you've
known him for years kid, get it out of your system. I told myself I was
right, nothing had changed, we were still the best of friends. I just
needed to move on. I can handle this. It's only high school after all.
Got up and got my PJs off, I opened my dresser draw. There, in front of
me, was the million dollar question of the day? As I lifted my tidy
whites out they revealed to me a beautiful pair of black satin panties,
the likes of which I had liberated from my sister only a few months ago.
She had a lower draw in her clothing chest that she would discard items
she had outgrown or was going to toss. So once I realized that I started
to use it as my own personnel shopping store for items that I wanted. I
was able to obtain a few 34 AA training bras, a half dozen or so silk,
satin and cotton panties, a pair of foam rubber falsies (so cute), two
pairs of stocking, ( yes they had runs in them, both on the backs, but
not bad) but she never threw them away. I had enough to have fun dressing
up with and I could always checkout her closet for dresses, skirts and
shoes as needed.
Just then the earth shattered. "Kevin Christopher Thompson, are you
dressed yet, your bus will be here in 5! I don't have time to drive you
in to school if you miss it, you'll have to walk!" my mother barked from
downstairs. "So get your butt moving!" My sister Liz joined the choirs! I
took my briefs out and insuring the panties were well covered up and out
of eyesight, I push the draw shut and continued dressing for school.
Benefits of a sister I guess you could say they were on both sides of the
spectrum. The bad and the good. In many cases, as of late, the good has
been excellent. Having a sister has allowed me to reward me with my own
wardrobe of most my items. I had wore the bras and panties so many times,
well to me it felt natural wearing them. Many mornings I felt half
dressed. Anyway the school bus won't wait so I needed to get moving.
Got to school and went right to my locker dropping off my lunch and
picking the books I needed for the first part of my day. Closing the hall
locker I half expected to see Daniel on the other side. It seemed like
every movie and TV show it happens that way. Not today, I felt a little
disappointed as I really wanted to see him again.
Home room and first period came and went. We would always run into each
other between first and second period in the hallway. I took my travels
as slow as I could but never came across him. I know he has math right
now, but I had a typing test today. I was teased for taking typing but I
had always wanted to be a Journalist and knew I would need to learn
typing. Well I wasn't sure what was up. Was he having second thoughts
about what had occurred over the weekend. Was he trying to avoid me! Was
he... you know, embarrassed by what had happened. I know I thought about
it. But it didn't bother me at all, I was truly hoping he too had enjoyed
it as much as I. But now, well I wasn't sure if he felt the same way.
Typing test went off without a hitch, I think I aced that one. Now it was
off to Biology for me and I know he's got English with Miss Bonnett at
the other end of the campus. So our next meeting place would be at lunch.
Ok I can wait for that. When I walked in to Bio I saw the absent list on
the teacher desk. Mr. Hankley must had been in the teachers office, so I
picked up the list and looked for Daniels name. Not there, so he must be
in school today. I put the list down just as the teacher walked in. "Ok
class, take your seats, today we are going to review the step of
dissecting a frog. The pleasure of which you will have next week..." Oh
god no.
Class seemed to drag on forever. All I could think of was Daniel, that he
better show up for lunch. Did I do something wrong? Did I really fuck up
our relationship? On god what have I done! I know I should never had...
I'm sure he... What I'm I going to do. I looked around the room, I felt
like everybody knew something I didn't and they were looking at me!
"...and then we sew the belly of the frog back up and your done. Any
questions."
The class bell went off. It always seemed at lunchtime that the bell
sounded the start of a great horse race. Today I was far behind the
leader. I made it to my locker, dumped my books for the first half of the
day, grabbed two others and my lunch. Still thinking about being upset
about Daniel I slammed the door, only this time the TV magic worked.
"You okay?" Daniel inquired. "...You look off Chris, he have this look
of..."
"I'm fine, it's nothing, it's bio... we have to cut up frogs next week,
I'm not really into it, that's all", I guess you could say I was I little
short. My emotions had been all over the damn spectrum today, up and
down. Daniel was talking but I wasn't listening. I was to self absorbed
with my own feelings as we made our way down to the cafeteria.
"....and Kathy, you know her, big kahunas, small ass. Well she's as smart
as a can be when it comes to math, so she showed me after class how easy
it was to..."
"Wait, math, after first period, you, Kathy"
"Yeah, she was showing me..." He stopped me, place his hand on my
shoulder. "Hey, you ok Chris?"
"I'm okay, just wasn't sure what had happen to you, you know we normally
see each other between those classes an you... well I didn't see. Wasn't
sure what was up. I was uncertain that..." Daniel cut me off.
"Are you jealous? Is that what this is about? You are, aren't you!"
"No, no of course not, don't say that! why would I even be jealous, I had
no idea where you were or with who! So how could I be jealous? You
weren't where I though you would be and...I, I was ... was...worried.
That's all." I looked around and the halls were empty, just the two of
us. Others were in the cafeteria or in class by now. "We need to talk,
ok. My mind has been on a roller coaster all morning. I hope you
understand Daniel"
"Sure thing dude, I hope I didn't do something wrong?"
He was puzzled I'm sure. I had just thrown a curve at him and wasn't sure
what was going on or where I was going. Heck I wasn't even sure where I
was going with this conversation. I just knew this wasn't the place. "We
still have a good 22 minutes of lunchtime left, let's head to the quad
outside, I much better place for a private conversation out there than
here in the hallway, ok."
As we walked our conversation continued. "Daniel, let me be frank you, I
am worried, no paranoid, that the whole school know's what we did. I'm
worried and thinking I have hurt our friendship or relationship and your
are trying to dodge me to distance yourself away from me. I didn't see
you this morning, anywhere, I was unsure why. I allowed my brain to run
amuck, to go off on tangents. I'm worried about us. Not me, but the we.
Do I make sense to you or I'm I just off my rocker?"
Daniel took me by the side of my shoulders, looked about then looked me
straight in the eyes. Then he looked down and back up at me. "Chris, I
want you to sit down on the bench behind you, then I need you to open
your history book up to our current study chapter. No one will ever guess
what we are talking about, okay?
"Okay." I did as he had asked, opened the book to the war of 1812 and the
picture of the White House on fire, burning down. As I looked around
nobody was looking, no one even cared. Daniel sat down and continued.
"Chris, I'm sorry for what happened to you today. It sounds, like you
said, A paranoia of sorts has set in. Chris, you're my friend, my best
friend, you know me better than anyone else in this entire world. I would
never, ever betray your trust over anything, no mater what. I need to
tell you this. I thought about you a lot last night while at home. You
have made me happier than I have ever been in my entire life. Even my
mother noticed this morning. She asked why I was so happy and I told her,
a little bit of a lie, that I had a great time camping with the guys and
can't wait to go out again. It was a real eye opener for me. She said how
glad she was for me and knows that my father not being around as much as
he should does take its toll on not just our family but all families. It
was funny she said '...sounds like you need to go out camp more often!' I
just smiled at her and said that she was right and that I can't wait to
go out again." Daniel let out a sigh. "So you see Chris, you are special
to me. I don't know what else I can say, but you are my sunshine. Thank
you for being you, because I know deep down inside no one else would have
gone down that path with me. It's nice knowing that I have a friend that
I can confide in."
Daniel just blew my mind! "Wow," was all I could say, I was still
processing his confession I guess you could say. I don't know. "Daniel,
let me say this too. I have never had as much fun with anyone that I have
with you. I think you were right, I was jealous. I thought maybe I had
done something to lose your friendship. I didn't want that to be the
case. Like you I just found someone that I can open up and talk with and
not worry about it getting out, but even better yet you understand me. I
might have thought so this morning that things were going south, but in
the back of my mind I think knew better. Sometimes it's just hard to get
things out of your mind and it plays trick with you. I really like being
your friend, I really enjoy camping with you and also being there as your
brother or...even your ...sister, because I....."
"But when the British attack Washington and the White House the British
were washed away by a freak tornado..." Daniel cut me off as our mutual
friend Lori started walking toward us.
"Hey guys, what's up?" Lori said.
"Just going over our History assignment, you know comparing notes and
things," Daniel replied.
"The only thing I could ever imagine you guys comparing would be girls,
not the war of 1812! Hey you guys going to Ellen's Halloween bash next
month? It's going to be a screamer. She wants to theme it out as 'the
absurd', put your heads together a see what you can come up with!" As she
walk away we could hear her mumbling some about not a bad idea double
blah blah...
"Sounds like fun, did you get invited Daniel?"
"No Chris, did you?"
"No, but I think we just did."
"Cool, well we've got time to come up with something. Now what were you
say..." Just then the last lunch bell went, "Shit, we've got to get to
class" I said looking at my watch.
"Catch up with me after school. I'll meet you down by your school buses,
later. Bus 197 right?"
I nodded with informative. With that Daniel got up and started to head
back inside, off to engage in more riveting educational lectures of the
day. I caught myself check out his backside as he walked away from me. I
shook my head bring me back down to earth.
