There were strange noises around her, creaking, moaning, grunting. It was echoing all around her and she could not make sense of it. She closed her eyes for a long time and reopened them. Her mind could not grasp what was happening. She lifted her head off the pillow and saw rows of beds lined up against the walls of the facility. The lights bulbs were old fashioned, not the florescent ones they had in hospitals these days. The walls themselves looked old, as if the structure was built centuries ago. In fact, the underground facility was old. It was a bomb shelter built way before her time. Now it held metal hospital beds with whimpering women strapped down to them.
Sarah gasped softly as she took in the sight to her right. A few feet away from her a bed was creaking rhythmically. The muffled sounds of a woman in distress made Sarah turn her head too see what was happening. On the bed was indeed a woman. Sarah couldn’t see much of her but she did see that she was young like Sarah, a brunette too. Her eyes were wide open and filled with terror. Sarah couldn’t see her lower face because there was a hand covering it. She stared in horror as she watched a large burly man moving on top of the young woman. He was raping her with fast rough strokes. She blinked and then stared, unable to believe her eyes, unwilling to believe what she was seeing. She was witnessing a rape. ?You are Sarah Conner,? the machine told her as a matter of fact. ?You will no longer carry the leader of the resistance.?
Sarah had no idea what it was talking about. How could she? There had been no significant advances in robotics at the time, let alone the idea of cybernetic organisms. Yet she didn’t like the sound of what the thing was telling her. ?What? What’s going on? What leader of resistance? Who are you?
