Weiss grumbled to herself, glancing at her father’s study after a rather, fruitless, meeting with her father, if a meeting it could be called.
“Another day, another loss for the family,” She muttered to herself, passing countless servants moving to and fro down the hall, giving none any of her attention as she made it to her room, and shut the door, eyes glancing over to her rapier mounted on the wall.
“Some days I just wanna take you and just run away…” Weiss said as she fell onto her bed, hair splaying out beneath her as she laid down, or would have if she didn’t feel the sensation of paper under her pillow sheet.
“What is this?” She asked aloud, opening the pillow and seeing a simple envelope, slightly crinkled from where her head laid on it. Looking about her room in confusion, wondering if perhaps one of the servants left a love letter…..if it could happen in the books it could happen here, and would be an interesting twist to her day.
Steeling herself, the young Schnee daughter opened the envelope, noticing a strange red symbol printed into a wax seal on the back, elevating the notes worth to her, who used wax seals anymore? It was so old fashioned, and aesthetically pleasing.
Moving over to her writing desk and sitting down to read the letter in the light of her desk lamp Weiss raised an eyebrow at the start of the letter.
‘Dear Weiss Schnee, I am a friend of your grandfather’s and am reaching out to you in the hopes you are interested in the idea of a partnership.
I know your grandfather well, and know that while his son in law has brought his small mining firm to global dominance, the state of his daughter, and his grandchildren would make him tremble in anger, in the vein of this, as his friend, I ask if you would be willing to take my assistance to rest the control of the Schnee family from that immoral upstart of a father you have?
If you agree, place two candles on either edge of the window facing the northern mountains within three days, and I will give you all the assistance you require to bring honor back to the name Schnee.’
Weiss stared at the paper, drumming the fingers of her spare hand idly on the desk for many moments, mind racking over the words before her very eyes, occasionally glancing at the window before looking back at the letter.
Arthur Watts hummed happily to himself, not even an hour after his spy cameras alerting him to the Schnee daughter reading the letter he had placed in her room, and already another pair of eyes reporting to him with a live feed of twin candles burning brightly in opposite corners of Weiss’s window.
“It is almost too easy to trick the entitled children, almost takes the fun out of this game we play,” Arthur paused, ruffling his mustache before chuckling aloud in a stealth aircraft he built to move freely in Atlas airspace before setting his scroll down. “almost!” closing the camera down, and switching his scroll to open his list of contacts, grunting before dialing the number and waiting for her to pick up.
“Watts, how nice to see you need to hear my voice, I assume you’ve already gotten cold and need warming up in Atlas.”
Weiss glanced about, Myrtenaster strapped to her hip and the wind whipping her hair around wildly as she was driven down through the streets of Mantle. Idly staring out the window at the passing streets before closing the winder and looking at the other woman in the car with her.
He had claimed to be a representative of the one who mailed her, who was not allowed in Atlas, per her father’s schemes to remove her grandfather’s connections to the company. Doubts to their claims were laid aside when she was told rhymes and inside jokes her own grandfather made and shared with her, and Winter before his passing.
The car ride turned into a bullhead flight outside the city zone, to the shipping yards where she was brought to a rather large yacht, being told to meet her would be ally aboard the ship, and marching forward, hand on the hilt of her weapon in case of a possible trap, and scroll pinging her location quietly in her pocket.
“Just this way Ma’am, the Doctor is waiting for you.”
‘The Doctor…’ She thought to herself as she entered the cabin, seeing a single man sitting in a wooden chair, behind a intricate wooden desk and a plush chair before the table, looking around the room, Weiss noticed not a single window, or other door beyond the one she came from, the only air circulating from the room being from a set of vents above her head.
“Miss Schnee, I am more than pleased to see your taking my offer, your grandfather would be honored to see you so proactive and willing to defend your family’s name.” the clean shaved red haired man spoke, reaching a hand across the desk to shake her own, “I am Arthur Brown, I worked with your father and was the head of his research staff in Dust Development.”
“I didn’t know my gra-“Weiss’s words were cut short as her scroll let out a loud beep, her head turning to look down, and gasping as Arthur grabbed her other hand and slammed them down on the table, a panel sliding away and slapping metallic bonds pinning her wrists to the table,
“Gods above, you rich kids, think you know everything….” Arthur sneered, stepping back as Weiss struggled in futility before casually walking around the table, and disarming her of her sword. “I’d take a deep breath, while you can, hahaha!” the Bastard said, walking out of the room and slamming the door behind him, justa few seconds later, a rather thick and odorous purple and blue gas started to spray into the room from the vents above Weiss’s head in moments making her drowsy as she struggled to avoid breathing it in.
Arthur brown returned after a few moments, letting the gas settle and to be sure she wasn’t feigning unconsciousness, before he unhooked her wrists and lifted the Schnee heiress over his shoulder. And securing her in a cell in the ship as it was underway to Mistral.
Cinder rapped her foot on the dock, already impatient having to be on a backwater port for one of Arthur’s schemes, who only got to get her to go along when Salem chastised her for putting her pride over her service to their mistress.
As such she found herself waiting for a ship to dock on quick speed from Atlas, bringing what that mustached bastard called ‘a valuable asset’.
“Valuable asset my tight hot ass, nothing is worth waiting in the middle of nowhere at midnight.” as if summoned by her words, a ship appeared on the horizon, quickly speeding toward the pier, docking within minutes, a red haired man in a impeccable green suit walked down the now lowered ramp, bound with her head, and hands locked in a wooden stockade, was Weiss Schnee, a gag in her mouth and collar on her thoat attached to a leash in the redhead’s hand.
“Delivery for Ms. Cinder Fall!” he said smugly, handing the amused, and more than a tad excited woman the leash herself.
