After she finished breakfast, she got dressed and put her makeup on, I got dressed and had some more coffee as she got ready, and I drove her to work, as I had some things I wanted to do at the mall and other errands I wanted to run since I was back home,
I looked around at some of the jewelry stores looking at engagement rings just getting an idea of what she might like, and what I could afford. I did my other errands and came back to the mall to meet Lisa for her lunch break, and we talked some, I brought up the topic of marriage, wanting to see what she thought. She said that when she had mentioned it that morning, she was joking, but also a bit serious at the same time. While she still had time before her break was over, we looked at rings just to look, I walked her back to the store, giving her a kiss before she had to go back to work. Said, “I love you, sweetheart, I'll be here to pick you up when you get off work.” Watched as she walked back into the store and back to work. I went back home where I did a little work doing some decorating inside my truck personalizing it for me some more, adding a couple of hats of my dad's as a tribute to him. A few hours later, my alarm went off letting me know I needed to head back to the mall the pick Lisa up. I headed back, picked her up and we went to dinner.
The next few months flew by as we started getting more and more serious about marriage. I also was talking with some of Lisa's friends to get ideas of how I should propose to her. I had picked out a ring that when she saw it made her eyes light up. So with help from her friends, I planned on how I was going to propose. Finally settling on a place, I put my plans in motion, setting up reservations at her favorite restaurant, and then going to one of her favorite parks we have here, Japanese Gardens among the Cherry Blossoms. I settled on a very romantic spot where I was going to propose, some of our friends were in on my plan and were there to take pictures, I texted them after we finished our dinner, and we headed to the park. We walked along the path I had planned until we stopped at the place I had planned out where I wanted to propose to her. I stopped and hugged her and gave her a passionate kiss, telling her I loved her and that she was the best thing that ever happened to me. That after what I went through before I met her, I thought I would never find true happiness & love. That she rescued me, saving me from myself, and that I would eternally grateful. I dropped to one knee, pulling a ring box out of my pocket at the same time, taking the ring out, I looked at her, holding the ring up, and said, “Lisa, I don't know where I would be if you had never come into my life, and I can't imagine the rest of my life without you in it. I love you more than life itself.....will you do me the honor of being my wife?” With tears streaming down her face she nodded and said, “yes...yes, I would be honored to be your wife.” With that, I slipped the ring on her finger, stood up, and kissed for the first time as an engaged couple.
The next few months went by so fast, with wedding planning and work, it seemed like we hardly had a moment's rest. We finally settled on a date in May the following year, we were fortunate that the day of my mom's birthday happened to fall on a Saturday and to honor my mom, we chose to get married on her birthday. We chose the tux's and dresses, venues. Sent out invitations it was so unreal how before we knew it, we would be husband and wife.
About 3 weeks before we got married, because she needed a break from wedding planning, Lisa went with me in the truck again for a week. She had been working so hard at her job, plus the wedding planning, during that time, because of her excellent work, she had been promoted to a shift manager at the store. But she was able to get a week off so she could go with me, she had talked with the GM and said with our wedding coming up, she just needed a break from wedding planning for a while. Her GM agreed and approved her request for time off, as well as her request for the wedding. During that week, she slept a lot in the first couple of days. For me having been married before, I forgot how tiring wedding planning can be, especially for the bride to be. I had a couple of stops in Iowa before going South to Oklahoma. We stopped for the night at the I-80 truck stop at Walcott, IA, spending the night there and checking out the place, a truck stop that's dubbed as the world's largest truck stop. We showered and sat down at a restaurant there and had dinner after I fueled up the truck and parked. This trip as opposed to previous ones, we were more toned down, and not fucking like rabbits every time we stopped for the night. Mainly due to everything else we had going on, we were just trying to rest when we could. We got back to the truck after dinner, and we cuddled in the bunk, watching a movie in the truck. Shortly after the movie ended, we were sound asleep with me spooned up behind her. With my arm around her, holding her close to me. We got back home a few days later, and the last-minute wedding planning resumed.
The next 2 weeks flew by. On the day of the wedding, I was led in by my 2 sons, while Lisa was walked down the aisle by her dad who she had been reunited with on Father's Day the previous year after they had been estranged from each other for most of her life. She looked absolutely gorgeous in her wedding gown. Now to me, she's the most beautiful woman in the world, but I was blown away at how beautiful she was, seeing her walking down the aisle to me, caused me to tear up. I barely remember the service, I was so lost in the beauty of the woman before me, being snapped to reality when we exchanged our vows.
With special permission from Jack, we used my semi-truck, minus a trailer as our getaway vehicle...unfortunately the wedding party got to it and decorated it. It was sitting at the reception hall, as we were given a limo ride around town to the reception hall. The wedding dance was so much fun, the father-daughter dance, Lisa, her dad, and I were all in tears over that. I had a Father-Daughter dance with my daughter. We had a dollar dance, auctioned the garter, and then Lisa tossed the bouquet, which one of her co-workers happened to catch. We got into the truck and headed to the hotel where we had the honeymoon suite for the night. We got to our room, kissing as we went into the room, after shutting the door, I helped her out of her wedding dress, and she enthusiastically helped me out of my tux, leading me to the bed as we stripped out of our underwear as we had sensual, erotic sex for the first time as a husband and wife before drifting off to sleep.
