Because the number of characters in this story keeps climbing, and because I’m somewhat forgetful, I’ve decided to include here a roster of all of the named characters in Beth to date (there will be more; current as of Chapter 91). Feel free to message me if I have missed any. I am quite happy to correct errors, either of admission or omission. Despite that readers probably know all of the main characters, I start with what we might consider Beth’s nuclear family, although with “nuclear” in this case being a fair bit more expansive than the adjective usually indicates in such situations.
WILLIAMS CLAN
Sandra (Sandy) Williams (40 y.o.; all ages – if provided – are as of story’s inception in April/May 2017) – The matriarch of the clan, legal wife of Charlie, genetic mother of Beth, sister-wife to Carol; despite the protagonist being Beth, Sandy is the primary driver of most of the story arc – either behind the scenes or directly, due to her interesting and nearly unique take on appropriate family relationships, the first strong suggestion of which in the storyline is her scheming to have the Devlin family added directly and intimately into the Williams family
Charles (Charlie) Williams (39 y.o.) – Legal husband of Sandy, semi-common-law husband of Carol, genetic father of Beth; Charlie provides something of a moderating influence on Sandy’s enthusiasms, despite his otherwise earnest interest in most of those enthusiasms; mathematics professor at “the university”
Beth Williams (13 y.o.) – Genetic daughter of Sandy and Charlie and protagonist of the story, which is written from her POV; she initiates an electronic diary (which is the story) as a result of both her intended alteration of the relationship with her best friend, Rhiannon, and catching Sandy in an apparently one-time act of sexual infidelity; member of the variously numbered gang
Carol Williams (Devlin is her previous married name; 35 y.o.) – Divorced genetic mother of Rhiannon, sister-wife to Sandy, semi-common-law wife to Charlie; Carol falls in love with Charlie over the course of a five-year friendship with the Williams family, admits such to Sandy, who takes advantage of the opportunity (see above)
Rhiannon (Rhee) Devlin (13 y.o.) – Genetic daughter of Carol, best friend of Beth Williams (and vice-versa) since meeting on their first day of soccer practice when 9 y.o.; member of the variously numbered gang
Graciela (Gracey) García (14 y.o.) – Genetic daughter of Dr. Inez García; best friend of Liya Nadhi; member of the variously numbered gang
Aliyah (Liya) Nadhi (14 y.o.) – Genetic daughter of Dr. Nira Nadhi; best friend of Gracey García; member of the variously numbered gang; HS team manager
Heather Wilkerson (14 y.o.) – Genetic daughter of Constance Wilkerson; member of the 2017 premier soccer team’s roster, essentially unknown until an injury to the team’s starting right wing; member of the variously numbered gang
Civia Palecek (11 y.o.) – Genetic daughter of Kalina and Jeffrey Palecek; comes to the attention of the gang via a coincidental meeting with Jeffrey; a young soccer phenom; member of the variously numbered gang; HS coach’s assistant
Gang of Four (Go4) – The close friendship of Beth, Rhee, Gracey, and Liya; named so by Charlie Williams as a tongue-in-cheek reference to China’s “Gang of Four” (if interested, check Wikipedia)
Gang of Five (Go5) – Heather Wilkerson is added to the Go4
Gang of Six (Go6) – Civia Palecek is added to the Go5

Inez García (39 y.o.) – Genetic mother of Gracey; biology professor at “the university”
Nira Nadhi (41 y.o.) – Genetic mother of Liya; astrophysics/cosmology professor at “the university”
Constance Wilkerson (late 30s or early 40s) – Genetic mother of Heather and of Heather’s older brother and younger sister (neither of which has been named by Heather in the story; neither has Heather indicated whether they are full siblings or not); apparently poor, single woman working in an unknown, but time-consuming job; permitted Heather to live with the Williams’, the adults of which have an aspect of power-of-attorney to enable the Williams parents to act in Constance’s stead in certain legal situations (e.g., schooling and medical)
Kalina Palecek (33 y.o.) – Genetic mother of Civia; employed in an as-yet-to-be-stated occupation; holds a master’s degree
Jeff Palecek (35 y.o.) – Genetic father of Civia; employed at the local power plant as an electrical tech; part-time student at “the university” in a BSEE (Electrical Engineering) program

A roster of the 2017 Central High School soccer team is Appendix 3, so I omit most of those here. However, a few of the team members have become important story characters, so I include them here; alphabetical listing by surname. Surnames not yet referenced in canon are indicated with # in the age parenthetical.
