June 12, 1993, Chicago, Illinois

“How was the movie?” I asked Samantha on Saturday morning.

“Totally cool!” she replied. “It was like the dinosaurs were real. I mean, obviously they aren’t, but the graphics work was amazing!”

“And the plot?”

“Hokey, but entertaining. I think you’ll like it.”

“Too scary for the boys?”

“I think Jesse would be fine, and probably Matthew. I wouldn’t take Nicholas, Michael, or Albert.”

“Scary how?”

“Being chased and eaten by dinosaurs! The two oldest ones will cheer for the dinos! And you’ll cheer when the lawyer gets eaten by a T-Rex!”

I laughed hard, “Count on it! And of course the boys will cheer! They’re boys. How was the date otherwise?”

“He’s very nice and very polite. He got a nice good night kiss.”

“Just be careful,” I said. “You’re an adult and have to make your own decisions, but be careful.”

“I will.”

“What time will the girls be here?”

“They’ll be here for lunch and dinner.”

“OK. I’ll see you when I get back from karate.”

I hugged Samantha then went to say goodbye to Kara and the kids before heading to breakfast with the guys. We had our usual enjoyable breakfast and when we finished, I asked Brian to talk.

“Is this where you ask what my intentions are towards your daughter?” he grinned.

I laughed, “Good one! I suppose I seem like the overprotective father, though I’m only twelve years older than she is, so that doesn’t really work!”

“How bad are things with her parents?”

“Bad,” I said. “Bad enough that she transferred from Sacred Heart in Winnetka to Mother McCauley for her Senior year and moved out of the house. I’ve encouraged her to work on her relationship with her mom, and she’s doing that. We’re hoping to see you at dinner tomorrow night.”

“Samantha invited me, and she sounded like one of the Commanders or Captains giving orders!”

“She’s a very determined girl who knows what she wants. But remember, she just graduated from High School.”

He nodded, “Karl and Howard were very clear with me that you were protective and had a black belt in karate!”

I laughed, “She’s more likely to dismember you than I am! Don’t piss her off!”

“Never! I’ll see you for dinner tomorrow!”

We shook hands and I headed home. I got ready for karate, and Kara and I walked to the dojo. I let Sensei Jim know that we’d be in Iron Mountain starting the following Saturday and would miss a week of class. He made a note on his calendar and said he hoped we had a nice vacation. He asked about Jessica but I had no news for him.

After class, Kara, the kids, and I had lunch with Samantha, Ellie, Liz, and Mary. Once lunch was finished, the girls disappeared into the basement and I went with Jennifer to watch one of Jesse’s hockey games. When that finished, we went back home and I spent time with Kara and the kids until dinner. After dinner, everyone hung out in the great room for a bit, and then the girls asked if I was interested in a sauna.

“It has to be ‘Weekend’ rules,” I said, looking at Samantha.

“OK,” she said. “Kara, you could join us if you wanted.”

“No, I’ll stay with the kids, if that’s OK with Steve.”

“It’s fine,” I said. “I’ll meet all of you downstairs!”

I went upstairs and Kara followed me into our room.

“Why the bathing suits?” Kara asked.

“I want to make sure the girls are comfortable and don’t make any bad assumptions. And I was thinking for a couple of months it would be better if I wasn’t naked around Samantha. Eventually it’ll be OK, and she hasn’t shown any signs of regressing, but I want to be very careful.”

“Speaking of the girls, Liz very obviously wants you! I could see it in her eyes.”

I nodded, “She has a crush on me, I suppose is the right way to say it. And she VERY much enjoyed sex and sleeping in my bed.”

“I figured that was what it was. Would you want to be with her again?”

“Kara...” I sighed.

“No, please don’t take that the wrong way. I’m asking because I think she’ll ask. You need to decide what to say to her.”

“I’m not sure it’s wise to turn it into anything beyond the weekend in St. Martin,” I said.

“Because of her or because of you?”

“Probably both.”

“Was Mary one of the girls?”

“No, she’s one of the ones who weren’t ready. And that’s cool. Why?”

“I’m just curious,” Kara said. “I’m trying to make sure you’re happy, healthy, and stable. I know you miss Jessica and I don’t want you to get into any kind of funk or go manic. It’s better to have you act in a controlled, reasonable way. Speaking of which, what did you decide about Jodie?”

“Nothing. We’ll talk to her and play it by ear,” I said. “You know what I really want.”

“I do. But please don’t fixate on that.”

“I’m doing my best not to,” I said.

I kissed her and hugged her, then went to the basement to join the girls in the sauna. Samantha had set the controls so I only had to wait a couple of minutes before ladling water on to the rocks to create the steam. I sat down on the empty towel on the upper bench between Liz and Mary, with Samantha and Ellie on the lower bench just to the sides of the other two girls.

“What are you girls doing for the summer?” I asked.

“Just hanging out,” Ellie said.

“Working at McDonald’s,” Mary said, making a face.

“Working at Jewel,” Liz said.

“If I remember, Liz, you’re going to Notre Dame and studying poly-sci as pre-law; Mary you’re going to Boston College and studying marketing; and Ellie, you’re going to Rosary to be an English teacher.”

“Wow!” Ellie exclaimed. “Good memory!”

“For important stuff!” I said.

“Samantha invited us to go to St. Martin again next summer,” Ellie said impishly, “Want to go?”

I chuckled, “I’m not sure what’s going on, but even if I did, it probably wouldn’t be like it was over Memorial Day.”

“Why?” Liz asked, sounding disappointed.

“I’m trying to sort things out with my family. It’s very complicated. Memorial Day weekend was special.”

“I thought so, too,” Liz said quietly. “I really liked being there.”

I was in a slight quandary as my first inclination was to put my arm around her to acknowledge what she was saying, and to confirm the special time we’d had. But I was also concerned about her emotional state, as I didn’t want to encourage anything. The caring side won out over the careful side and I put my arm around Liz. She sighed deeply and rested her head on my shoulder. We sat quietly, with only the sound of hissing steam and shallow breathing disturbing the silence.

I thought back to Stephanie’s friend, Trish, who had a similar reaction to having sex with me back when I was a Senior in High School. She’d admitted that she’d fallen in love with me and I’d gently and carefully talked to her and helped her deal with those feelings that couldn’t be fulfilled. If that’s what Liz was really feeling, rather than a crush, it would be dangerous to even have my arm around her as I did now. The other danger was turning the crush into something more, and I had to be careful about that.

That said, of the girls I’d been with in St. Martin, she was certainly the one I’d want to have again. She made love the way I liked, very slow, and very sweet; unhurried and gentle. Sleeping in the same bed with her had been wonderful. And despite all of those feelings on my part, I had to be very careful of her feelings. In fact, those were paramount. And despite Kara’s encouragement, they’d override any other considerations.

About twenty minutes overall had elapsed when Samantha got up and motioned for Mary and Ellie to come with her.

“Stay and talk,” Samantha said to Liz and me.

It didn’t surprise me that Samantha and Liz had spoken, and based on what Kara had said earlier, it was entirely possible that Samantha or Liz, or both of them, had talked to Kara while I was at Jesse’s hockey game. The question was, what exactly did Liz want, and what should I do about it?

“Did you want to talk?” I asked.

“Yes,” Liz said softly. “I was hoping you liked me enough to keep doing it.”

“Liz, are you falling in love with me?” I asked.

“I don’t know what I feel,” she said. “I like you, a lot. But it really doesn’t matter how I feel because you already have a family.”

My mind was drawn back to Jennie’s warning - that sex changes us in ways that are often unpredictable. That made me wonder how Louise was doing. That was something I’d need to talk to Samantha about. But here and now, I had a very emotional girl next to me who I needed to help.

“Let’s see if we can sort this out,” I said. “In a perfect world, what would you want?”

“To hide you in my closet and bring you out every night!” she giggled. “Mom and Dad would NEVER approve of me dating someone who was 30!”

“I did say a perfect world.”

She was quiet for a couple of minutes, “It’s hard to say, because my perfect world includes a law degree, which means seven years of school. And it includes kids of my own.”

She was thinking, and that was a good thing.

“OK, so given that, then what?”

“I feel like a silly little girl. Like I’m twelve and have a crush on a movie star! You know, like we talked about in St. Martin.”

A VERY good sign. She’d diagnosed her own issues and THAT made me feel much better.

“What does the adult Liz say to the pre-teen Liz?”

“Well, the pre-teen Liz couldn’t do the things I did with you!” she giggled. “I suppose the answer is I had an affair with my crush and now I need to quit acting like a little kid about it.”

“Very good. That’s very adult!”

“Do you think we could ‘adult’ one last time?” she giggled.

Unless I was being totally played, which didn’t seem to be the case, I didn’t see any harm in it. I got up and went to the door. Liz pouted until she saw me hang a sign on the door and then come back to her.

“What did that say?”

“‘Privacy Please!’” I grinned.

She smiled, stood, and removed her bikini. I took off my swim trunks and sat back down, sliding forward so that Liz could wrap her legs around me. I put my arms around her and pulled her tightly to me, crushing her breasts between us. We kissed and Liz ground against me, sliding her labia along my hard shaft. As she had the first time in St. Martin, Liz lifted up, grasped me, and held me as she slowly lowered herself to fully engulf me.

Liz began to grind gently against me, and I kissed her neck and shoulders, as she had her head resting on my shoulder. She slowly worked herself to her first orgasm, never slowing or changing her slow movements. The gentle grasp of her tunnel and the small spasms would easily keep me hard for as long as she wished to do this. It was nearly twenty minutes later before she leaned back, put her hands on my shoulders, and began to move faster.

I bent my head down and caught one of her nipples in my mouth and lashed it hard with my tongue. Liz groaned and had a bigger orgasm, which only encouraged her to move even faster. When her final crushing orgasm hit, the strong spasms caused me to explode into her. When the pulses stopped, Liz leaned forward and put her head on my shoulder, just as she had done the first time.

“If you want, we can soak in the whirlpool,” I offered.

“Yes, please,” she sighed.

I filled the tub, adjusted the sauna controls, and we spent twenty minutes soaking in the swirling water with my arms wrapped tightly around her. When our time was up, I grabbed two towels and led her to the shower. We rinsed off, hugged, and exchanged what I was sure would be our final kiss.

“Thank you,” she said quietly. “That was exactly what I needed.”

“You’re welcome,” I said, kissing her nose.

Liz giggled and we got out of the shower. We dried, put on our robes, and went to get dressed.

“You did the right thing, Snuggle Bear,” Kara said as I dressed.

“So you DID talk to her,” I grinned.

“Yes, and I remember what you told me about your sister’s friend who was falling in love with you. I figured you could fix it.”

“I did,” I said. “She’s fine now.”

“Good! Can I get some of that later?”

“As much as you want!”

June 19, 1993, Iron Mountain, Michigan

“What’s the plan for today?” Elyse asked as we carried our bags into the cabin in Iron Mountain.

“Shopping and relaxation,” I said. “Jodie promised to bring us two dozen eggs later this afternoon.”

Elyse smirked.

“DO NOT SAY IT, BELGIUM!”

“Sorry,” she laughed. “It’s just so easy to tease you about it.”

“And we’re done with teasing!”

“We’re NEVER done with teasing! Heck, I didn’t even have to say it! You knew!”

“True. And you girls aren’t going to cut me any slack. What happens when it’s just you and Kara and nobody else?”

“We need to talk about that, Mr. Adams. You are not wired for that! And you know in a few years I’ll be moving to the ‘burbs. Even Kara knows you aren’t wired for pure monogamy.”

We put the bags down and went back out to the cars. Kara was keeping an eye on the kids while we unloaded my car and her minivan.

“We’ve tried several different configurations,” I said. “I’m curious about your opinion.”

“I think Kara’s probably right about her needing a third. When Jessica was sane, Kara was much happier. She liked having a girl who was that close. And you know she’s not strictly hetero from what happened with Joyce.”

“I think you’re probably right. I attributed Joyce to simple experimentation, but after seeing Kara with Jessica, and after what she told me a few weeks ago, I can see it.”

“Do you have any candidates?”

“I suggested that if that’s what Kara wanted, she needed to find the person. She would never select someone I wouldn’t be OK with, and if she needs the female companionship in that kind of intimate way, which it appears she does, then she needs to choose.”

“That’s how things with Joyce started right? The intimacy?”

“Joyce just pushed things too quickly, though in a sense, that was the seminal event that helped Kara break out of the old mold.”

“And all that makes me wonder how things might have been different if I could get past my mental block of being with another girl in bed.”

“It’s not a mental block; it’s who you are. You can’t change your sexuality any more than Jennifer can. Or I can. And if you try to force it, bad things are going to happen. Ask Jennifer about that.”

Elyse smiled, “Physician, heal thyself.”

I nodded, “I can’t change my sexuality, either.”

“Correct. So don’t force it. You had fun in St. Martin!”

“I did, but I don’t think that’s the way forward, either. I would have loved to have Samantha longer, but she needs me as a coach and mentor more than she does as a sex partner, especially given the fact I’m not a potential mate.”

“If Michelle hadn’t run away to the convent, she might have been a good choice.”

A WellLived Life 2 Book 10 BridgetChapter 20 Winter or Summer

October 12, 1996, Rutherford, Ohio Rutherford, Ohio was a relatively small town; but then again compared to Chicago, Cincinnati was a relatively small town. Rutherford was bigger than Milford, but not by a lot. It had the regional trauma center, the BMV, and the Harding County courthouse and other government buildings, as well as the Sheriff’s Department. I could imagine Milford being like Rutherford if all those facilities had been in Milford, instead of Batavia, which was the Clermont...

A WellLived Life 2 Book 5 MichelleChapter 78 Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous Part II

May 15, 1992, Glencoe, Illinois “Join me in my study, if you would,” Noel Spurgeon said when we finished our dessert. It had been an interesting evening. Samantha and I had talked for a bit before we’d been summoned to dinner. The meal had been prepared by a chef and was served by a white-coated young man. Again, this was a far cry from Lois at the van Hoeks’ house. What wasn’t a far cry was the fact that I was having dinner with a man who knew I was going to be sleeping with his daughter...

A WellLived Life 2 Book 7 SakurakoChapter 57 Land of the Rising Sun Part III

June 23, 1994, Oguni, Yamagata Prefecture, Japan My first week in Japan flew by, and a routine developed. Sakurako would wake me; I’d exercise and run, then shower and have breakfast, and share tea with Sakurako. After breakfast, I’d meditate, and then have my training session. After lunch, I’d work in the garden, or, as I had this day, wash the floors in the house. Hiroshi would accompany me back to the cottage and we’d talk while I washed up and dressed for dinner. After dinner, I’d spend...

May-June 1983, Milford, Ohio When we arrived back at the Spencers’ there was a phone message asking me to call Ruth. I was sure what that was about, so I picked up the phone and dialed the number. “Sandy had her baby!” she said. “A girl and she named her Hope.” “Are they both doing OK?” I asked. “Yes. They’re at Clermont County and Sandy wants to see you.” “You realize that if her dad is there, it’ll start World War III? That just doesn’t seem like a good idea.” “He works tomorrow, and...

A WellLived Life 2 Book 6 SamanthaChapter 67 Summer of 93 Part III

July 13, 1993, Chicago, Illinois Abbie was in tears when I came back from my run with Gina on Tuesday morning. I knew why even before she spoke. “Jason called. Davey died at 7:00am this morning at Carraway Methodist Medical Center in Birmingham, Alabama.” “Shit,” I sighed. “This has been a totally fucked up year. And that family has really suffered. Bobby’s serious injuries, Clifford’s death, and now Davey’s.” “Jason said he’s going to quit today. He can’t take it anymore. And he needs to...

A WellLived Life Book 8 StephieChapter 56 End of the Summer Part IV

August, 1983, Chicago, Illinois At O’Hare, I parked in the short-term lot as I usually did and walked into the terminal. I checked the arrival board and saw that the flight from Atlanta was listed as on-time. I walked to security, passed through the metal detectors, and then walked to the gate. I sat down to await Stephie and, hopefully, some answers. The jet pulled onto the ramp and parked, and the engines shut down. The Jetway was extended and shortly after, the first passengers began to...

Davids Life Book II Just Like Starting OverChapter 9 Hot Town Summer in the City

In the past, David and Meri had spent the summer at the camp, and had loved it. This year was going to be different. They were both going down to NYC, and stay there for the summer. The Wilson's had friends who had a place down in Manhattan that was available, this year. The three parents had talked about it, and agreed that it would be good for them to see something different. Plus, there were the museums, parks, and so much more for them to explore and experience. It didn't hurt that the...

August 1978 Things did go back to normal on Monday. Jennifer and I talked, and she seemed to be more like her old self. I wondered just how often she’d need something like this. I suspected she’d want something different before I left for Sweden. I wondered if I would survive. We would need to talk about this, but it seemed we both needed some time to think about what had happened. August moved right along. Jennifer and I went on dates and made love gently every time. I saw Joyce as well —...

Davids Life Book II Just Like Starting OverChapter 3 Summer Time

One of the great things about the 1980s was, to many, the music. Blondie's "Call Me", Billy Joel's "It's Still Rock and Roll to Me", Lipps Inc.'s "Funky Town", and many others. You couldn't go to out without hearing something great on the radio. Then again, people who were young in early 1980s had so much going for them. The world was relatively peaceful, though there were those hostages in Iran until they were released after Reagan was sworn in as POTUS. The economy seemed to be...

May, 1983, Milford, Ohio On Sunday after swimming and breakfast, Stephie and I spent some time with my dad before leaving for Don Joseph’s house. August 1979 — Hovås, Sweden It was the final week before I’d start school. Monday morning, after my jogging and golf, I went with Patrick to the store to buy notebooks, pens, pencils, erasers, and other supplies I’d need for school. I’d brought my TI-30 calculator with me, so I didn’t need to buy one. I also bought a small zippered gym bag to carry my homework back and forth to school. June 1977 When I got home, I grabbed a Coke and some chips and went right to my room. I didn’t think I could deal with my parents or Jeff or Stephanie. I just needed to be by myself. Kara and I had lunch together at IIT, Sofia practiced her driving and parking, and I hung out with Mark Agnini after class for beers. Staci and I got into a couple of interesting debates about the Old Testament that Mark had to break up to allow others in the class to participate. She was very much of the ‘directly...

A WellLived Life Book 9 AnalaChapter 48 Summer of 84 Part III

July, 1984, Chicago, Illinois On Wednesday morning when I woke, I went for a run, reminding myself that I needed to do it regularly. When I got back, I hopped in the shower and almost immediately the phone started ringing. I walked, dripping water, to the phone in my bedroom and answered. “Hey big brother! I’m leaving now! I’ll see you about 2:00pm!” “Drive safely, Squirt!” I said. We hung up and I went back, finished my shower, then dressed and went downstairs to eat breakfast. After...

A WellLived Life Book 8 StephieChapter 53 End of the Summer Part I

August, 1983, Chicago, Illinois Becky was quiet on the drive back to Chicago. My answer to Alyson’s question had been weak. Saying “I can’t” just didn’t really cut it. Alyson had pressed me, but I’d declined to answer further, just saying that it wasn’t going to happen. We’d finished our lunch and then Becky and I dropped Alyson at her house. She’d hugged me and then given me a quick kiss on the lips. The last thing she’d said to me was, “Give it a chance, Steve.” Becky had wisely not said...

A WellLived Life Book 9 AnalaChapter 46 Summer of 84 Part I

July, 1984, Stockholm, Sweden Sitting at the gate at Arlanda airport, I thought back over the final six days of my trip to Sweden. They had been filled with sightseeing, talking, and dinners, both in the apartment and out, with Karin’s parents. And of course, making love. I did, finally, on the last evening, take a trip, alone, to see Birgit. I put flowers on her grave and knelt there, imploring her for answers to the difficult questions that were swirling around my head. She, like the...

A WellLived Life 3 Book 1 SuzanneChapter 7 Reaching the Peak

March 25, 2000, Chicago, Illinois “What time do I need to have you home?” “8:00pm will be fine,” Misty replied. “My parents are in Normal visiting my brother at Illinois State. They aren’t supposed to be home before 10:00pm.” Misty and I were in my car on the way to the NIKA apartment which, fortunately, was not being used. With our expansion, it was in more or less regular use, and that meant I didn’t have access to it as often as I would have liked. I was glad there had been a delay in...

Summering in Femininity Part 1 A Bummer Summer

A Bummer Summer? It was the dream of every seventeen year old, during the summer before his senior year of high school to spend it miles away from all his friends and all his stuff. In case you couldn't tell, that was sarcasm, because for Taylor Hughes, that was the last thing that he wanted. Unfortunately, he had no control over the matter. His parents were going out of the country on business for the entire summer, and trying as he might, Taylor was unable to convince them to let him...

A WellLived Life 2 Book 3 JessicaChapter 20 It Happened One Night

January 17, 1989, Chicago, Illinois “What time do you have to leave this morning?” Kara asked as we showered together on Tuesday morning. “About 8:30am,” I said. “I’m driving over to get Jeri, then heading to O’Hare. We have an 11:00am flight. Assuming all goes well, we’ll be in the office by 3:00pm Pacific time. We’ll spend a couple hours going over the software then go to dinner. The demo is tomorrow. Our flight back on Thursday leaves LA at 11:00am, so we’ll be home by 8:00pm, I...

A WellLived Life Book 8 StephieChapter 29 Summer Vacation Part II

May, 1983, Chicago, Illinois On Friday morning, after a good night’s sleep, we ate breakfast and packed the last of our things. We loaded as much as we could into the cars and drove it over to the house. After unloading everything, Stephie and Elyse went back for a second load while I met with Gerald Brown. “The electrical inspector is here and the plumbing inspector will be here later this morning. I don’t foresee any issues, but I have both a Master plumber and a Master electrician...

A WellLived Life Book 1 BirgitChapter 7 Setting the Course of My Life

June 1977 Friday ended up being a non-event. The more I thought about it, the more I was sure that there was no way on this earth I could say what happened between Birgit and me was a sin. Calling it a sin would debase it into a meaningless act. I could never do that. And the more I thought about Jennie McGrath, the more sure I was that I couldn’t call what she did for me a sin, either. If the church was right, I was going to hell. And frankly, there was no way that could be true. So I...

July 22, 2000, Chicago, Illinois “Albert, do you have everything packed?” Mom asked. “Yes, Mom!” I replied, rolling my eyes because she’d asked before I went to bed. “He’ll be fine, Babe,” Dad said. “Let’s walk to the hospital.” I usually didn’t get up early, but Dad had suggested it would help Mom if I walked to the hospital with her because I was leaving to see Jane for three weeks. Mom, Dad, Aunt Kara and I left the house and headed down the sidewalk towards the hospital where Mom and...

May 14, 1997, Chicago, Illinois “Start talking!” Melanie demanded when I sat down in her office about an hour later. “There isn’t much to say. Katya found the information for me when I asked her to look into several things about Brandon Littleton, Kevin Lomax, and John Milton.” “Do you know more about him?” “A LOT more. I don’t think you want to know.” “Probably not, but I’m your criminal defense attorney, and even though San Antonio doesn’t have you involved in this, you know the CPD...

“So, how should we do these Stone’s songs?” Phil asked at our rehearsal session. “I think we all know the music, we just need to come up with a pretty awesome arrangement; we don’t want to sound like yet another cheap cover band.” “I had some ideas, if it’s okay for me to make some suggestions,” Allison said. “Of course it is,” Phil said. “Everyone can have a say, there’s no rule that says you can’t participate in the discussion.” “Thanks, Phil, I guess being the newest here, I’m a bit...

October 5, 1992, Chicago, Illinois “Hi, Tiger! I missed you!” “Hi, Babe!” We hugged and kissed more than we normally did when we met at the ER after her shift, then she hugged and kissed Kara, and the three of us started our walk home. “How was San Francisco?” Jessica asked. “Good. The User Group meeting went very well, I saw my old boss and professor, Scott Bannerman, and Bethany and I had a lot of time to talk.” “If all you did with her is talk, I’m not sure I want to go back to the...

May 11, 1992, Chicago, Illinois Monday was turning out to be a LONG day. After my run and talk with Gina, and my talk with Elyse, I had a full day at the office scheduled. First was our leadership meeting in the morning, and then I had status meetings with each team. At lunch I’d gone to see Siobhán and explained that I was going to break off the sexual relationship, but that I wanted to remain friends. She was disappointed, but admitted that Thursday would have been the last time, since she...

January 19, 1989, En-Route from LAX to ORD When the engines of the plane started, Jeri reached over and took my hand. She held it while we pushed away from the gate, and taxied for takeoff. Her grip tightened a bit as we hurtled down the runway, but nothing like the death grip she’d had on my arm for the flight out. The plane roared its way into the air and once we leveled out, Jeri’s grip loosened but she didn’t let go of my hand. “How are you doing?” I asked with a touch of...

September 1982, Chicago, Illinois The weekend was quiet and besides homework, I worked on the program changes for Frank, called Karin, Tatyana, and Kara, and hung out with my usual study group. Monday was refreshingly normal. On Tuesday morning, I handed Katy my completed intake form. She put it in an envelope and stuck it in her bag. She said she’d let me know soon about the interview. July, 1984, Chicago, Illinois The week flew by. On Monday, I met with Doctor Alborg and we discussed the relationships that I had with adults, ranging from Jennie McGrath to Ivan Voronin. We talked about my run-ins with Kent van der Meer and Kara’s dad, and contrasted those with my relationships with Ben van Hoek, Frank and Trudy Spencer, Robert and Allison Block, and Ivan Voronin. We came to the end of the session before we could talk about my sister. I let Doctor Alborg know that I’d be...

October 1982, Chicago, Illinois The drive back to Chicago was as uneventful as usual, and I arrived at the apartment just before 6:00pm. When I arrived, Elyse and Stephie were sitting on the couch and Jackie was sitting on the loveseat. Stephie hopped up as I opened the door and greeted me with a hug and a kiss. “Hi, Peaches!” I said. “Glad you’re home, Yankee!” “Hi, Steve,” Elyse and Jackie both said. “Hey,” I replied. “How was the weekend?” “Well, it was just Kurt with me, Stephie,...

A WellLived Life 2 Book 3 JessicaChapter 52 Lifestyle Choices

June 11, 1989, Chicago, Illinois It was just after 3:00am when I kissed Trish goodbye. She’d been an enthusiastic, energetic, and adventurous lover. We’d done just about anything either of us could think of, though her breasts weren’t large enough for a tit-fuck. The last time had been in the shower where we’d ostensibly gone to clean up afterwards, but instead I ended up taking her from behind as she leaned against the wall of the shower. “I think I’ll have you again, Steve Adams,” she...

A Golfers Dream Book II Chilly Winter Hot SummerChapter 28 Lifes Huge Surprises

Dave reached the top of the stairs and walked down the hallway towards the room occupied by Katherine and Jennifer. He knocked on the barely closed door before he walked inside. Jennifer and Katherine were still cuddled together but Katherine appeared to be more relaxed. They both looked at Dave questioningly. He smiled and answered their implied question, "He was gone when I got down there." Both girls looked relieved. Dave continued, "The party has pretty well broken up. There are only...

A WellLived Life Book 1 BirgitChapter 38 Freshman Year Ends

May 1978 The first couple of weeks in May were busy with school, work, and friends. Except for Becky, I didn’t even have any dates. But I was OK with that. Well, almost OK. I wanted to see Anna, but it likely wasn’t going to happen until school was out. I had tutoring sessions with Melanie, but she still wouldn’t talk to me about anything other than Spanish. Barely a hello. I was grateful for the tutoring, but it was maddening seeing my friend this way. I hoped someday she could understand...

A WellLived Life Book 6 Kara IChapter 44 Spring Break 1982 Part I

March, 1982, Milford, Ohio As I drove along I-65, I thought about what Stephanie had asked for and what Bethany had said without even knowing about the request. Of course, because Bethany and I were so in tune, she might have actually had an idea that I was struggling with getting involved with my sister again. I kept turning it over and over in my mind and I kept coming to the same conclusion — that I shouldn’t do it. I was torn between doing what Stephanie wanted and doing what Kara and...

You were messing with me, weren’t you?” She grabbed both my hands and smiled, “I was telling the truth, in my own way. Thank you!” She leaned forward and kissed my cheek. “So, what’s left?” I asked. “To visit UofC tomorrow and formally withdraw from classes. To spend some time with you and your...

The flight home from Calgary was a long tiring trip. The team had been loaded onto a bus at six o'clock in the morning and, after changing planes in Toronto, they arrived back in Queen Anne Island at four-thirty. The team exited the plane in QAI tired but happy to be home. Dave had hoped his family would be there to pick him up but he and the whole team were shocked when they entered the airport. October 1981, Chicago, Illinois I arrived back at the apartment just before 10:00pm and saw the address for the party. I decided I wasn’t particularly interested in going so I put on some music, poured myself a glass of wine, and started reading more about Russia. The waiter showed us to a quiet table along the wall of Roditys in Greektown. He took our drink orders and was back quickly. June 29, 1995, Chicago, Illinois On Thursday, I finally had lunch with Melissa again, something I hadn’t been looking forward to. Much like with Cèlia, Melissa and I had passed an inflection point and I was left with sub-optimal paths forward. I’d been struggling with the possible solutions, and all of them had pitfalls. When I walked into Takumi, I had something of a plan. Whether it was good or not would only be known once everything played out. “I spoke to my wives,” I said after we’d...
