I awoke to Tessa opening my door and walking inside. She set the clothes in her hand at the end of my bed before greeting me, “Morning sir, sunrise, and the first bell is in an hour as you asked. I’ll deliver your breakfast half an hour after that.”

“Thank you, Tessa. After breakfast, I won’t need anything besides a washbasin and cloth before breakfast every day. For today, the only thing I need after that is a second washbasin at half-past three bells,” I explained as I got out of bed and put on the clothes from last night. Tessa nodded to me before leaving. Once dressed, I left my room for the training yard to get my typical morning workout before the day started.

I finished my workout about 45 minutes later and started to head back to my room. I bumped into a sleepy Petra as she emerged from her room, “Morning sunshine.” I greeted her with a smile. She turned to me with an eyebrow raised.

“What has you so bright-eyed and bushy-tailed this morning?” She retorted as we walked down the hallway together.

“Just finished my morning workout, now heading back to my room for a quick wipedown and breakfast,” I answered. As we walked, I noticed Petra kept looking at me out of the corner of her eye with a satisfied smile on her adorable muzzle. “So, meet me outside Terrance’s study in an hour?” I asked once we got to my door.

Petra replied as she walked away, “That will do. I’ll see you later, lover.”

I shook my head as I entered my room. The washbasin sat on my desk while the food sat on the table. I reminded myself to thank Tessa while I stripped and put the dirty clothes in the basket. I dipped the cloth in the warm water and made quick work of my bath. Once dried and dressed in my original clothes, I sat at the table for an excellent plate of food. I then grabbed my duty belt and opened the weapon cases to determine what to carry today. I debated between an M4 and one of the MP5s while I loaded and holstered my Sig P320 and filled my mag pouches with spares. I opened the duffle with the plate carriers once I decided and pulled out one of the MP5SD’s and grabbed a few spare mags. Setting the plate carriers out on the bed, I noticed two carriers set up for each weapon, aside from the sniper rifle. I grabbed one for the MP5. As I loaded the spare magazines into it, I noticed two grenade pouches on it as well. Thinking better to have them and not need them than to need them and not have them, I locked the other cases back up before opening the grenade case. Selecting one frag and one flashbang, I relocked the case and placed them into the carrier.

Once I was loaded up and ready, I left my room and walked down the stairs to see Terrance and Shalyndria, worry twisting my gut over what she was going to say. Never having had a girlfriend before, let alone two stone-cold foxes wanting me, I had no idea what to do or say. Hell, I didn’t even know if I would be able to choose between them if forced. Still wrapped in my head, I knocked and entered the study.

I was surprised to find Shalyndria seated on one of the couches in the room alone. She gestured to the couch opposite her and waited for me to take my seat before beginning, “First, this is the letter of ownership and a signed account from Terrance so you can sell the wagon without any trouble. Also, the mare may stay in the stables. She is yours. So negotiate upkeep with the stablemaster before the end of the week.” I accepted the papers, and after skimming them, I placed them in a pocket for such things in my vest.

After doing so, my raw emotions got the better of me, and I asked, “What does it mean when Petra says we imprinted, and what does that mean for us?” Were the first things to rush from my burdened brain.

“Silly man, how would any relationship you have with my best friend change the relationship we have? Is your world so ass-backward they would limit love? Shaun, I put you and Petra together, hoping this would happen,” was her response. My mind went blank as she shook her head in exasperation. After a moment, she continued, “Ask Petra what imprinting means. All I ask is that you two wait for me to marry.” A knock interrupted us.

Petra stuck her head through the open door, “We should be leaving soon, Shaun. Shalyndria, we shared the dream last night as well.” Before we could respond, her head disappeared back through the doorway.

I looked to Shalyndria, still conflicted, “I will ask her about it, but I still don’t understand why you would put us together, hoping she would take me from you.”

She threw her hands up, “She’s not going to take you from me, you fool! I want her to join us!” Seeing the look of surprise on my face made her break out in laughter. Once under control, she finished, “Now kiss me and get going. You have a long day ahead.”

I got my faculties in order and did as she asked. After kissing her for a moment, “Ok, I’m going to need some time to adjust to this. I will see you at four bells in your study.”

Before I walked to the door, she handed me one last paper folded and sealed, “Give this to Petra. She knows what it is and what it’s for.” I nodded one last time before walking out the door.

I stopped when I saw Petra looking at me with that smirk on her face. She walked forward and kissed my cheek, “I heard everything, dear one. I’m not going to stop. My dream is coming true, and I’m going to fight for it.” She turned and started walking down the hall, “The shops will open shortly. The sooner we get done, the sooner I can start to teach you more magic,” she called over her shoulder as I watched her taut ass and swaying tail walking out the door. After a moment, I jogged to catch up.

“So, clothes, armor, and weapons in that order?” I asked my guide.

“Yes, we can get your other necessities at the general trader next to the clothier as well,” Petra replied.

“Let’s grab my wagon and be on our way then. I plan on selling it and the contents for some extra coin,” I said as we walked out the door of the manor. We hooked up the wagon and set off. As I followed Petra’s directions, I asked what had been on my mind, “What did you mean we imprinted, and how did we share that dream last night?”

She sighed as we rode on before answering, “Beast-men and beast-folk to a lesser degree imprint with their chosen mates. It is a combination of pheromones, emotional connection, and magical resonance. The only way to end an imprint that I know of is death. If you were to die, I could imprint again.” She took a minute to gather her thoughts before continuing, “The dream throws me a loop. Only a full-blood beast-man pair should be able to share dreams like that. My only guess is because you’re a True Mage, your magic mixes with mine like a beast-man’s would, allowing dream sharing.”

Soon we pulled up in front of a large three-story building with two storefronts. One had everyday goods while the other showcased clothes. We walked into the general store first. Behind the counter was an older, scaled beast folk. Petra walked up and greeted her before I could open my mouth. “Greta, how are you. My new friend Shaun has a wagon and goods to sell ya and needs daily necessities. Afterward, we need to see your daughter about some clothes.”

I rolled my eyes as I walked up and shook Greta’s hand. “While I can certainly talk for myself, she’s not wrong.” I laughed. Greta had an indulgent smile. I pulled out the letters and handed them to her, “There are some circumstances to my owning the wagon. These should clear them up.” I grabbed the sealed paper I had forgotten and turned to Petra, “The princess wanted me to give this to you, sorry, I forgot till now.”

Greta responded after reading through the letters, “This is all in order, I feel sorry for that poor couple, but I’m glad you helped avenge them. I’ll have my son assess the wagon and goods, and I’ll gather the necessities if you want to head over and get started.” I nodded, and we walked through an opening into the clothier.

We were greeted by a younger version of Greta when we came through, “Hello, I’m Vera. What did you need today?” My hand shot out and covered Petra’s mouth before she could jump the gun on me again. “I’m Shaun, I need 3 or 4 sets of clothes for everyday use, three sets of clothes to wear under armor, two sets of formal wear, and I’d like to see about something custom.” I felt Petra’s lips twitch into a smile a split second before her tongue ran up the palm of my hand. As I removed my hand, I gave her a mock glare, “You going to let me talk now? Or do I need to ask for a gag?”

Her laughter could probably be heard back at the manor, “While that might be fun, you win. I’ll let you talk, Shaun.” Vera just shook her head, obviously as used to Petra’s antics as her mother.

She came around the counter with a cloth tape measure, “Come over here, Shaun, I need to measure you. Any idea what colors you would like? And do you need anything immediately?” I set the submachine gun on the counter and removed my plate carrier so she could work.

“The everyday wear and clothes for under armor I would like now if possible as I only have the clothes on my back. The formal wear I can wait for a custom fit, especially as I have some requirements to discuss when I see them,” I responded as she started to measure my shoulders and arm length.

When she finished, she pointed to a mannequin wearing something similar to a tuxedo, “That’s the formal wear. Color can vary to taste. What requirements do you need in those?”

I pulled my Sig from its holster, clearing the weapon and setting it and the magazine on the counter, “I need extra room in the waist to accommodate this just behind my hip between my body and the pants. Also, pockets on the inside left of the jacket for two of these.” I pointed to the pistol and magazine. She measured them and nodded.

As I reloaded the pistol, replaced the carrier, and slung the MP5, Vera told a human with a black bracelet what she needed, then turned back to me, “Now tell me about the custom work you need.” I explained I wanted three pairs of pants as close to the tactical pants I was wearing as she could make them. While we discussed my work pants, the worker brought out a bundle of cloth and set out several outfits for me to choose from.

Petra and I argued over what colors I should wear. I wanted black and browns while she pushed for more bright colors. I chose mostly blacks and browns, but a couple of blues and reds. Petra also got to tell Vera what colors to make my formal wear. I just hoped it wouldn’t be baby blue or some other absurd color. When we finished arguing, I noticed Greta talking to Vera. I walked over and found out that Greta had completed the appraisal, and they were calculating how much they owed me.

Vera was first as Greta turned to her son behind her, “Say 45 gold for everything. The formal wear will take two weeks to complete, and the custom pants can be picked up at the same time.”

I nodded to her and turned to hear Greta’s offer, “Deducting the necessities you need, 85 gold for everything but the horse.”

A New BeginningChapter 10 Day Five Mage in distress Court Sarahrsquos operation and Mair lookouts

By the time we got back home John was discussing where to put anyone turned out. Elizabeth suggested the apartments in the grotto. I had never looked inside them but Cynthia told me they looked very comfortable. I nodded to John, “have someone check them and possibly the top floors of the Keep.” I looked around before spotting Jacob, “Jacob, do you think there will be a problem with these girls and women staying in the grotto?” He shook his head, “we have been talking about your idea of...

Unknown Mage

I was thirty five and looked maybe sixteen when I left Mage Seth. He had been my master since I entered puberty at ten. Now I was a master and a mage and going out into the federation. Mages were not popular so I did not use my mage name when I left. I did use a little magic to change a few things when I decided to join fleet as an officer. The training was physically demanding but not as bad as mage training. I went through basic and the basic officer course before going to a company as a...

MageChapter 35

“Honoured Mages, we now have a vacancy on the Council,” Sofya stated into the calm after the struggling Clarence had been dragged from the chamber and Edward had been formally welcomed. “Indeed, Mage Sofya. Your point is?” Simon stated, his eyes twinkling. “The work of the Council must go on unabated; I’m loathe to see decades of delays in filling a post due to political infighting amongst ourselves. We need an experienced Mage, one who commands the respect of the Bureaus and Offices of...

MageChapter 54

It was the first Council meeting I’d attended with my Mage since she’d retired. Also alongside me was Mage Elizabeth, who was doing the stuff I would normally do if I weren’t working on the expedition facing the Orcs ... and now the Vultoqi. “Do you have any further explanations as to how the Vultoqi emerged from this temple after you ... desecrated it?” Mage Sofya asked. “Other than suspecting that somehow the urine sprayed by the wolves dissolved a ward, no,” Roxanne...

Mage Fighters

We were constructs and less than human. We were servants of the mages that ruled the world or our piece of it. Mage Glowtree was my master and had a very tall and formidable Keep and tower. Beside it was the garrison of the mage king's soldiers. The only way for a construct to be free was if we became fighters for one of the mages. When I was little I watched the soldiers and practiced. As I grew older I was assigned to help the blacksmith. Which both strengthened me and taught me about the...

MageChapter 23

“I’m going to assume the fool is heading our way?” I kind of rhetorically asked. “Can’t assume anything else. His plurality are refusing to say either, according to the information we’ve received,” Roxanne replied. “Does he know which way is here?” Brianna asked. “Good question. I don’t know.” “Can you Lady Seers detect him if he approaches this cluster?” Alice asked. “Yes ... possibly, but we won’t be able to do anything else whilst we’re doing it,” Lagertha replied after what appeared...

The Knight and the Acolyte Book 2 Magics ClashChapter 6 The Grieving Mage

Journeyman Mage Faoril – Esh-Esh, Magery of Thosi My head lay on the rough wood of the table watching the retreating barmaid. The world was blurry from my drinks. I couldn't believe this day. How could it keep getting worse? I failed my test, I lost my dream, I was broke, and now I owed an inn money for food and drink. They would throw me in debtor's prison. I would have to perform menial, manual labor until my debts were paid off. I would wither away in drudgery. I deserved it. Tears...

MageChapter 25

“Do we know where he is?” I asked as our team sat around a table in Kurukshetra. “I have a good idea, yes,” Morgana replied. “Care to tell us, oh wise one?” Arch chuckled. “He’ll need supplies; he might have no common sense, but he will be cautious in approaching danger and will need allies.” “Fen,” I murmured. “That’s what I believe, John, yes.” “The Seer gestalt still have a track on the persona of Mage Fen, but it might be a false sign. She knows how we operate,” Seer Alameda...

MageChapter 102

I observed Oonagh doing a subtle scan while looking around the Council headquarters; outwardly she was looking quite amazed. With us were Hermes, Róisín, Marnie, Kyra, Adsila and Arwen as well as Saress, who was Oonagh’s guardian. “Be careful scanning the wards. I’m told they’re not very forgiving to being probed,” I murmured to her. “Ah, yes,” she replied, with a slight blush at getting caught. “Everyone does it and everyone gets the warning,” I chuckled. “It is most impressive,” she...

MageChapter 27

It was a week since Prostana left but the colcha were well known for their laid back approach to life. Prostana would come back when he was good and ready. We made a lot of designs and then flew into the foothills three hundred klicks away to do some testing. We picked out a flat area with a prominent rock about ten klicks away. I painted a dozen large rocks and put numbers on each of them. Sonya had finished setting the missiles up by the time I got back. She said, "You shoot one...

MageChapter 2

The following day I spent time with Mage Roxanne going over the various possible approaches to the Orc cluster of Earths. Each one had issues with the possibility of them tracking us and leading them back to our cluster. “Melanie says there’s no evidence that they can detect phase shifts, but lack of evidence isn’t proof and my gut feeling is that it leaves us too exposed,” Roxanne sighed after we’d butted our heads against the various methods proposed. “Just a thought. Why don’t we do a...

I looked at the hundreds of tall mage spires that were spread across the city. I glanced back into the spire I was in, “are you sure he knows I am coming sir?” The wizard Garme smiled, “he knows. He refused the city council summons by killing their messenger. Do not let your guard down and expect him to try to kill you.” I rotated the ring on my left hand middle finger until the stone was to the inside. The ebony stone had a white moon stone in the shape of a hawk inset in it. I used my thumb...

“We have a new creature,” Seer Melanie announced. “Any clues as to what it’s for?” Roxanne asked looking at a squat bulbous form, somewhat reminiscent of a hippopotamus. “It has a complex biotech sensor suite built into its nervous system; I suspect it’s an advanced form of tracker. However, there are a few oddities about it too which might merit an investigation from the medic Mages as the body appears to have a number of folded appendages attached, the use of which is obscure.” “Let me...

Ori WarHedge Mage

The war started with Kane invading to find and seize the ancient Ori emperor's mage diamond mine. Since then it has expanded to them trying to seize the whole country and invade Sax. Most of the fighting has been in the north but recent sightings have some of their army moving south. Even as an apprentice mage I knew I would never be that strong. Even a minor mage had more magic than me. I was only a hedge mage and barely above the simple tricks of a witch. My master was very smart so...

“So, Seeker, it is your belief that this incident with the greater Psiontial was merely camouflage for this enemy’s real intentions?” Archimandrite Brnnt asked. “It is indeed, revered Archimandrite. When the crystals were done I just continued to make love to my ladies. I didn't try for quantity this time but tried to express my love to each of them. The boys had not been as happy with their lot so I did what I did to Sonya and while making love I pictured her face. Clarissa Douglas heard the phone chime from the nightstand and mentally growled in anger. This was ridiculous -- they needed to let her husband have one night's sleep in peace! He'd been called out four times in four days now in the middle of the night. “Athena? Why the hell does Athena want to come with us?” I asked out loud. “Ask her, she merely informed me that she wishes to go,” Hilda shrugged. Simon looked at Hilda, clearly decided she wasn’t telling him everything (as did I) then shrugged as we all made our way to the Council bar, where Athena was known to hang out. The Puppeteer Mage

"Ah, magic." The ebony skinned man thought as he sat back in the generously stuffed chair, "It makes all of life's desires possible. And what I desire now is food and drink." As if on cue the doors to the den opened and in stepped an albino beauty. Nearly white locks tumbled past her shoulders in thick curls. Pale, almost invisible grey eyes stared at him defiantly; her deathly white skin was accentuated by the deep purple silk dress she wore. The tight fitting, low cut gown emphasized...

“So, the Orcs finally got a video of us in action?” Roxanne questioned us during the after-mission de-brief. “A video feed of the wolves, yes,” Draiochta Naimh replied. “My fault, I presumed an Omniscient probe lying on the ground was one from the one we’d killed in the building and didn’t scan it properly.” “Ach! I woke early as Elizabeth slipped onto me whispering, “Michael?” I put my arms around her and sighed as I felt her moving on me. I woke quickly and realized what was happening as she squeezed me. We all used our mind-cloaks as we approached the entrance to the manoir; Jukar using the amulet version which she could switch on herself, though wasn’t yet in a position to actuate her own version. At the door Arch pulled the bell-pull and we awaited an answer, which came quickly. “The Comte is not receiving visitors at the moment,” came a very snooty reply from a senior manservant. “Oh, I think he’ll be receiving us,” Arch stated flashing a blank piece of paper in front of the man and...

Whilst the Psiontials under Una kept an eye out for Sarkal and waited for him to make a move ... we hoped, the few of us who were left continued to help the Yr’ch repair and rebuild their planet. The Drow Battalions were now being stood down as there was no longer anyone to fight on Draenoric, only the many remaining holdouts of the old regime. It was a struggle to get the new cap onto Fen. Of course when they bit a regular person or animal they sucked out their life energy too. It was a pretty sombre group that returned to Draenoric. The trial had not been particularly pleasant ... although necessary. It had been clear that Luka was a most unhappy woman, rather than a devious criminal with murderous intent. During this time, Prostana had not had a chance to get hungry. Some of the larger predators had to try to get at us. Prostana was quick and I was afraid he was going to get fat. We flew to the next closest site and began all over again. This time there were no animals around with magical compulsions to kill us. Sonya and I did some calculating and flew with Prostana to the nearest site. This one though was easy to find. There was a giant bowl in the crust of the planet. It must have been...

Patrolling the Mage Mall

I was a couple of years on the force before I got a new assignment. They said I had the knack for knowing when something was going down or finding people or evidence. I carried my duty bag through the stone arch and into what almost looked like an alley. I could feel something and knew that was not what it was. One moment I had been looking at a dirty alley and another moment I stared at colorful displays. Strange animals were everywhere and things floated in the air and I shook myself as I...

MageChapter 18

“John. Escort duties with Mage Xi to study what appears to be some sort of guardian located in a reprocessing plant,” Roxanne ordered. “Yes, Mage Roxanne. Er, guardian of what?” “That’s what they are off to find out. Don’t let it eat them.” “Yes, Roxanne.” “So, it’s to be Craachan,” stated Karkol. “Yes, they scanned and once again we were too slow,” Brnnt replied. “The psiontials found no trace?” “No, but the one on Nansack could not trace them either.” “Should we sterilise the...

MageChapter 20

“He’s coming back,” I heard Xi say. “Good. Glad he’s back, silly bugger,” Roxanne replied in slightly amused tones. “Good to be back, but I still feel exhausted,” I croaked. “Not surprised, John. You used up all your internal reserves getting our people out. I do agree however that it was the right thing to try.” “Considering they had us trapped, I thought it best to use internal reserves rather than tap into the quantum boundaries and light myself up like a searchlight to the...

MageChapter 29

“Welcome back, John,” Xi, as Roxanne’s temporary second in command, greeted me as our group came through the portal to our Loegrian side base. “Nice to be back,” I replied with a smile as I looked around at the slightly expanded camp. “Yes, we’re getting a few new arrivals,” Xi confirmed as Roxanne came up. “That’s true, Seers Jemima, Abi and Adsila are here, along with several more Mages and investigatory teams from the civilised Earths,” Roxanne added to Xi’s information. “We’ve also...

MageChapter 47

Blensop had returned to a paradise planet ... of a sort. The vegetation was an unusual shade of blue/green and the animal life that we could scan fitted into no known genomes, though was there in abundance. Nor were there any signs of what we’d consider civilisation or Orcs, at least until we got down to the surface in the area of what we’d consider to be Europe. Unlike previous occasions, we didn’t have to seek out a Higher Power, one approached us the moment we teleported in. “Greetings,”...

A Lazy Mage Quests for UnEZ Creds 1

It was a dark and stormy night. Clouds over Seattle obscured the waxing gibbous moon. Lightning flashed, illuminating the windows’ frosted glass etched by decades of acid rain. Seconds later, thunder rumbled through the cluttered room. Or at least it looked cluttered to the man standing alone to one side, motionless except his eyes. He wore a duster style long coat, held a ballistic riot shield and wore a helmet. Below the duster and above army surplus boots, kneepads were built into the...

MageChapter 10

Roxanne called a full meeting of the team in order to discuss progress on the various items they’d chosen to study and to see whether or not it was time to bring to a close the current mission and move on to a settled Orc world. “We have studied much of their technology,” Tchac’trar, the Veda in charge of their small group, buzzed through his mandibles. “Much of it will be useless to us as it requires a bio-interface in order to make it work, although we magic users can override it, just not...

MageChapter 21

“We have detected an unusual Orc, who appears to be directing the Adept’s investigation team on certain occasions,” Lagertha announced during the morning meeting. “Do we have a visual?” Roxanne asked. “It is shielded from us, but the Orc analysts call it a Seeker and their surface thoughts inform us it’s clad all in red and is supposed to be as ugly as sin, though none have seen its face.” “Open a file on it and see if we can set off an incident they can trace to us where we can observe it...

MageChapter 28

“You led us a merry dance, Clarence,” Morgana stated to the man as she and Verenestra approached. “I merely sought to prevent a war that you idiots appeared to be determined to cause,” he sneered. “By disobeying a direct order from the Council not to interfere in the mission?” “My conscience would not allow it. Whereas the likes of you would appear not to have one.” “A strange conscience that permitted you to use your friends to associate with the Falians and the Coalition, along with...

MageChapter 33

“John, Kate, Arwen, let’s go,” Roxanne commanded as 24 hours had passed since the destruction of the frequency changing Orb and its backups. We portalled down to our original encampment to find a totally different world. The struggling jungle was no more, replaced by thick verdant growth to the point where you could hardly tell that this was the place we’d first set foot here. Nor were the sizzling energy streams present or the ozone content. “No Orcs, none at all,” Arwen eventually...

MageChapter 62

The adelshaut stood silently in the neardark; rank upon rank waiting to fight their enemy and purify creation from the blight of creative thinking beings. That they fitted that category did not even occur to them and even if it had, they would have sacrificed themselves at a word from the patripure. “The shield fails,” the senior patripure announced to the gathered caveatra. “Begin!” Commands went out and the adelshaut moved to the various positions from where they were to attack. Several...

MageChapter 63

“Situation?” Roxanne asked the assembled command group as they stared out at the surface of Vultoq from one of their hidden bunkers. “John’s rear-guard made it to the ruins in this sector. You can make them out in the distance,” Arch pointed at several mounds beyond what they considered the mile-wide kill-zone. “The Vultoqi have them surrounded but haven’t made any moves as yet, other than a few probes, which taught them to keep their distance.” “Portals?” Roxanne asked the...

MageChapter 71

A week had passed since the ‘revolt’ on Draenoric. What information we had was limited to a few surviving TechnoYr’ch who did not desire to remain under the control of their organisation and the ongoing pogroms against any who did not accept Sarkal as their god. These Orcs had managed to get the componentry to make their own portal ring and had brought a few friends and their families through with them. It was they who confirmed that somehow the new Council had managed to get, or had stored...

Tales of the Mad Morphing Mage

Tales of a Mad Morphing Mage by Troy Troy was a wizard by both training and choice of profession. He had acquired the nickname "Mad Morphing Mage" because of his enjoyment of polymorphing spells. Silly people, just because his beloved female cat Diamond used to be a male orc named Gutsplitter, that did not mean he was a polymorphing nut. So what if he had four wands of polymorphing, so what if he had a talisman of shape shifting. He just found these items useful. ...

MageChapter 14

“Lessons?” Roxanne asked as we all assembled to go over the mission. “Do not let them get close. Their use of an orbital strike was seriously over the top for the situation, but would have caught us if we’d actually engaged them,” Adok spoke up. “Agreed, Adok,” Roxanne nodded. “Fortunately, unless they learn how to conceal a firing we’ll always have enough notice to pull you out.” “I’m still not sure what they hoped to gain from this. An orbital strike wouldn’t give them a clue as to who...

MageChapter 36

‘Anything detected, ‘ I asked Szymon telepathically as the team approached the Orc military base on Blensop. ‘No, Mage John, ‘ came the reply. “Begin your scan, Tirus,” I ordered. “Identical,” he chuckled after a few minutes. “If I didn’t know how the Orcs work I’d have been checking my gear for a memory glitch. Slight differences with land layout, but all the major bits are the same including the bunker and the minefield.” ‘Proceed with caution, Szymon. It’s all pretty much the same, ...

MageChapter 52

“Tell me, Seeker. What gives you the right to kill one of the Beoghra?” the Most high hissed as Crnnch stood before the Council of Archimandrites, flanked by two Saltigues. “My duty is to seek out and deal with threats to the regime. Inquisitor Folar was clearly a threat in his excessive zeal in killing any Yr’ch that showed competence,” Crnnch replied carefully. “A threat?” “He killed the Adept who came up with the armoured ground vehicle concept. He killed the Adept who realised our...

MageChapter 83

Roxanne, Arwen and I teleported via Loegria and Kurukshetra to Verenestra’s residence in Keldravan on Tír na nÓg. We were expected and were escorted directly to see the Queen and the Consort, allowing Arwen to joyfully greet her parents first before getting down to business. We were soon joined by the neuro-technologist, Artello, who was working on various means to shut off a Fae’s magical abilities in a manner similar to that that his ‘Artello cap’ did for humans. The man was now in his...

MageChapter 90

“So you suspect Oonagh’s up to something, John?” Morgana queried me during a meeting called with Roxanne, Verenestra and William. “Yes, almost certainly,” I replied carefully. “Though I’m not sure if it’s harmful to our cause or something that will be beneficial for us.” “It would not be in her interests for the Vultoqi to win,” Verenestra mused thoughtfully. “But Oonagh always works to a plan ... or did.” “Can see her hoping we’ll both lose,” Roxanne grimaced. “But I’m biased; I don’t...

Princess and the MagePart 3 Castle Leche

The Princess awoke a changed woman. She smiled up at him in reverence, adoration, and awe. Wrapping her arms and knees about him, she held him close and kept his seed within her womb. Her greatest hope was to carry his child. “I love you, slave or King makes no difference.” she whispered. While she had slept Magnus went to Meg. She had been crying in her frustration and need to be used. The magic held her frozen until he chose to come to her. He took pity on her and wished he could attend to...

True Mage ChroniclesChapter 14

I froze at Terrance’s exclamation. My magic training had paid dividends allowing me to access my core in a heartbeat. I briefly touched the red cord to check on Shalyndria, and all I felt was fear and worry for her friends. I then pushed fully into Petra’s blue thread. I was almost crushed by the amount of anxiety I felt from my mate. I shoved it aside and focused on what she could see. I shuddered in disgust at what was revealed. The dirt floor was covered in old blood and other bodily...
