The first day of school, I pull on a perfectly pleated, short, light blue kilt, a white tank top underneath a elbow length sleeve, blue and white stripped button down shirt, along with black heels.
I finish getting ready, leaving my hair down, but straightening it. I do my makeup, and then head on downstairs. I find Pearl and Veronica in the kitchen with Sophie, making breakfast. "Morning April, ready for the first day of school?" Pearl gives me a kiss on the forehead.
"Yeah, I can't wait. The girls are all coming at seven forty five, so I have to get moving."
"Okay. Here's breakfast," Veronica hands me a bowl of cereal, a spoon, and some fruit, and directs me to the kitchen table. "Eat up now, don't want to go to school starving."

Michael comes in, and he and Sophie join me. I hear a horn beeping outside, and I quickly put my bowl in the sink.
I give everyone, including Mom and Dad who have come down, a kiss and a hug, and then hurry out to the car that is waiting.
Inside the Solara is Maddie, Liz, Alex, and Char. I climb in and then we are off. We meet the other car at Starbucks, in time to grab Mocha Brownie Frappachinos, and then get to school in time to not be late.
We park the cars, and walk into school with our Frappes, and head to homeroom.
There, we find out who all is in our homeroom.
Oh, and news just in. Danny's sitting in the back row, in the corner like always, staring at us as we walk in. In particular, staring at me.
I make sure that our eyes don't lock. The girls start whispering, and Maddie shoots me a look.
We go over and start talking to our homeroom teacher Mrs. Porter. She is one of the youngest teachers at the school, and really cool. Everyone always wishes that they could get her. She teaches a lot of classes, dance in particular. Everyone wants to take dance. Actually, the girls and I made the Dance Ensemble, and we have to try to work cheerleading into our schedules in addition to dance rehearsals.
She gives us all our papers. They have our lockers, our combinations, our schedules, and some other things.
I am homework partners with Maddie, which means that if one of us is sick, we have to get the other's homework and take it home to her and everything. That all works, because we have the same schedule. The other eight girls are also paired up. Jess with Brit, Char with Tay, Alex with Luce, and Liz with Sam.
It all works out perfectly, because everyone is partnered up with their best friends. All together, the ten of us are unstoppable, but every once in a while, we branch off, and go into groups of best friends. There are five groups, just like the homework partners are. We are all with our best buds. Madison and I actually pretty much rule the popular girls, even though we are all almost equally popular.
We head out to our lockers. We are lined up, all ten of us. In the popular hall. With the cheerleaders on one side, and the football team on the other. We are smack in the middle of the hall. On either side are the sports and dance teams along with their male counterparts across the hall. The loser lockers are actually on a different floor. I am telling you, our school is really separated between popular and not. Thank god we are on the better half of the bargain.
