Lena and Guy!
It was the men’s turn to cook on Tuesday, we had a sort of arrangement. Jo and I always cooked dinner together. It gave us a chance to chat but Mike always alternated, getting breakfast and lunch.

‘I don’t really know,’ she said, ‘what do you think?’
‘ Well, I think it will be nice. You would look really lovely all in white and, after all, it is your first marriage so you might as well.’ I laughed, ‘ You might not get another chance!’
She laughed. ‘Do you really think so? I bet it’s only because you want to help me choose it.’
I leaned over and kissed her, ‘That is one of the reasons but you will look so lovely. I can’t wait to see you dressed all in white walking down the aisle with Guy standing there waiting for you. Your father will be so proud and so will I and Mike. Oh please Jo, it’ll be so much fun.’
‘All right, you win, I’ll wear white.’
‘Who’s wearing white?’ said Mike as he sat down next to me.
‘We were just discussing what to Jo should wear for the wedding and I’ve managed to persuade her to wear white.’
‘You will look absolutely delightful,’ he said, ‘I can’t wait to see you all in white. Have you discussed it with Guy?’
‘No, not really but I don’t think he has any problems with anything that I decide. I’m sure that Gianna will want to have some say in the wedding plans and I bet that Bernardo and Sally will also want to lend a hand. It’s going to be quite an interesting job making all the arrangements and keeping everyone happy. I’m only a bit worried that my mum and dad might feel a bit left out.’
‘Well,’ said Mike pensively, ‘your mum and dad are coming out for our wedding so they’ll be at Bernardo’s in plenty of time for yours so why not let them make all the arrangements with him. It is your wedding after all Jo and I’m sure your mum will want to do all the things that mums do before weddings. I don’t think Bernardo will mind if she, sort of, takes over. I tell you what, I’ll speak to Bernardo this afternoon and get it all arranged. What did your mum and dad say when you told them you were getting married?’
‘They were quite surprised,’ she laughed, ‘after all I’ve only known Guy for a few weeks but they’re both very happy for me.’
Just then that Guy joined us by the pool. ‘We’ve just been discussing your wedding,’ said Mike laughing, ‘if it’s okay with you we thought it might be nice to leave all the arrangements, or at least as many as possible up to Joanna’s mum. I’m sure that Bernardo and Sally will be only too happy to let her have her way and, after all, it is the bride’s mother’s prerogative. Is that okay with you?’
He smiled. He was already becoming used to our manipulations and he didn’t seem to mind. Well it is woman’s business isn’t it?
‘No I don’t mind. I’ll leave all the arrangements up to you.’
‘I’m going to wear white Guy,’ said Jo, ‘is that all right?’

We spent the afternoon in Arona shopping. When we got back to the boat and on the journey home I could see that Jo was beginning to consider asking Guy about tonight. ‘Don’t forget he’s mine tonight,’ said Jo as she came up onto the roof. ‘Don’t wear him out,’ she laughed.

‘No, I didn’t. I thought you could go down now and seduce him,’ she said laughing.

Guy was sitting on the settee reading. He seemed happy enough as I sat next to him.
‘Are you OK about Jo and Mike?’ I asked.
He looked at me and smiled. ‘Yes,’ he said, ‘I understand now how important it is for her, and for my father. What about you? Don’t you mind?’
