Caroline’s Story
(Hi, please read the intro to Ch 01 so you’ll know what to expect. It isn’t strictly necessary to read the earlier chapters but some of this won’t make sense if you don’t so I hope you will! More ‘growing together’ and just a little bit of sex at the end!)
Mike takes them out
(Not much sex)
I woke up the next morning feeling groggy and a bit sick. The effect of all the emotional upheaval of last night combined with a fairly brusque hangover made me feel rotten. I hadn’t slept very much either, what with worrying about whether Mike would come today and listening to Jo crying. So, not only did I have a hangover, I also felt completely depressed over what I had done last night. I knew that Mike, if he came (and I prayed that he would), would be here on the dot at 10:30 so I had a cool shower and woke Jo. She seemed better than me, she hadn’t drunk so much, I suppose, and had not gone through quite the emotional roller coaster I had when Mike left. While she was showering I cooked us both breakfast. I don’t often get a hangover but I think that the best cure is a good cooked breakfast so I served that up for both of us. By the time 10:30 arrived we were both ready to go, not at our best but better than earlier.
Mike arrived dead on time as usual and seemed to be his old self.
‘Lena, its good to see you. Are you feeling better?’ he said as he swept me up into his arms and kissed me.
‘Mmmmmm, I’m fine now,’ I said returning his kiss with interest, relief filling my mind. Then he turned to Jo. I had made Jo take just a little bit more care with makeup this morning and she really did look very good considering!
‘You look radiant this morning Joanna, did you sleep well?’ and he looked at her in that way. I could see its effect on her, she was melting before my eyes. She looked up at him coyly, ‘Thanks, Mike. Not too bad, just a couple of dreams.’
He looked at me and raised his eyebrows in question and I mouthed ‘kiss her’ to him. He walked over to her, took hold of her arms gently, and kissed her full on the lips. I could see her legs go when he did this and I knew she was hooked. They really looked good together, her short dark hair framing a truly beautiful face, brown eyes and full lips. She is shorter than me so she had to stand on her toes to kiss him which accentuated her gorgeous figure. I couldn’t wait to see them in bed together. He held her for what seemed like ages then they pulled away. I felt a pang of jealousy then, unexpected and unwelcome but pushed it away. Jo was red in the face and had completely lost it, staring up at him with true lust in her eyes, he seemed much calmer as he looked down at her, smiled and said, ‘We must do that more often.’
Then he turned to me, ‘Lena,’ he said, ‘kiss me.’
I went to him and kissed him, not like the ‘hello’ kiss, but the ‘god I want you’ kiss like the one I assumed he’d given to Jo because she was still standing there wide-eyed. We spent some moments kissing and I whispered in his ear, ‘Let’s not go out, let’s stay here and bonk!’
He pulled away from me, ‘Lena, I’ve said it once and I’ll say it again, you are incorrigible,’ and he looked at Jo, ‘I don’t think that we’re all ready for that, do you Jo?’ She, of course, didn’t know what he was talking about.
‘Ready for what?’ she asked still in something of a daze.
He looked at me, ‘Tell her Lena.’
‘I suggested that we stay here and bonk,’ I said somewhat embarrassed. I realised that he was telling me off in his own way. I was pushing again and I realised that I had forgotten everything Jo had said to me last night. ‘I’m sorry,’ I said somewhat shamefaced.
Jo looked quite shocked, blushed (it did make her look absolutely gorgeous) and responded confusingly, ‘Errrr, errr, ummm, no perhaps not.’ Her hesitation told me that it was not such an unwelcome suggestion to her but this was not the time.
Now I could feel the embarrassment rising and it was only then that all the things that Jo had said to me really hit home. I was being silly. We all needed time to adjust to my suggestion. Even I realised that I had felt just the tiniest bit of jealousy when Mike kissed Joanna so sexily, so I knew now that we had to take it slowly. In a way I felt relieved, I suppose I was finally realising all the complications of a possible three sided relationship. I think that they had both realised it a lot sooner than me. We left then, before things got out of hand.
He took us to a National Trust house and gardens with the most magnificent views and a wonderful restaurant. We didn’t walk very much just dawdled and talked then had a lovely lunch. We drove around, stopping now and then to stroll, for the late afternoon and then, at about 7 he took us for dinner. Another lovely restaurant where he was obviously very well known as he was treated with real respect. Although our presence did cause one or two knowing and jealous looks (knowing from the women and jealous from the men!).
When we got home he came in and I made coffee. I could hear him and Jo chatting away in the lounge. It made me feel good that they were getting on so well. When I came in with the coffee Mike turned to me, ‘Lena, while you and Jo are together can I suggest something for tomorrow and Saturday?’
‘Sure.’ ‘Go ahead.’
‘Well,’ he said, ‘don’t take this the wrong way but I know a fabulous hotel on the south coast, very posh, dressing for dinner and all that. How about we go down there tomorrow and stay overnight. I’ve booked two rooms provisionally in case you agree. Your one is a suite with a marvellous view over the sea and the sunset. You’ll love it. I thought it might make up to Jo for her sad birthday dinner. You can wear your posh frocks. What do you say?’
I looked at Jo and she smiled and nodded ‘yes’ so I said, ‘We’d both love to.’ Then I coyly added looking directly at him and smiling, ‘Why do we need two rooms?’ You see, the problem is, when I get an idea in my head it’s very difficult to distract me from my purpose. I did realise, after I said it, that it was silly but there you go!
‘Lena,’ this from Jo, ‘No.’
‘Much as I would love to,’ said Mike, ‘if we do go forward from here it won’t be in a hotel room, that’s far too sleazy.’ He’s a very strange man. We do all sorts of things together which I suppose could be called sleazy but he wouldn’t even sleep with us in a hotel. The good thing was he said that he wanted to. I knew now that it would be all right because I knew that Jo wanted him as well, I would just have to be patient.
He made a quick phone call confirming the bookings and left. I tried to get him to stay but again he refused.
We were both very tired after the last couple of days so it didn’t take me long to go off. What pleased me was that Jo drifted off to sleep before me and I didn’t hear her crying during the night.
The next morning we packed an overnight bag and put our dresses in travel bags for the evening. Shoes were a problem but I said we could probably persuade Mike to let us go shopping this afternoon and we could buy some then. He arrived on time as usual but with a surprise. He had hired this marvellous little three seater convertible sports car, bright red in colour.
‘You can take turns sitting in the front,’ he said, ‘I thought you might enjoy racing about in this.’
I was going to be a hot day so we were both dressed in shorts, ankle socks and trainers with thin blouses and very lightweight bras. We both felt very sexy and racing about in this lovely little car was certainly not going to reduce that feeling!
We loaded up and off we went, me in the front and Jo sprawled across the back seat, ‘This is marvellous,’ she said, ‘I feel so free in a car like this.’ I don’t know how he guessed but the one thing to really get Jo hot is a car like this. That’s one of the reasons she fell for Steve in the first place. He
had this sporty little BMW that she loved. I know that I felt great with the wind blowing my hair and him sitting beside me. I had to keep touching him, I don’t know why, and now and again I’d lean over and kiss him and whisper, ‘I love you.’ I didn’t expect any response while he was driving but I felt better doing it. We changed seats after a while, Jo moving to the front. I must admit that having the whole back seat was great and I could sit up on the back of the seat although Mike very firmly told me not too, he was afraid I would get hurt. I also noticed that Jo was moving towards him and touching him as well. She didn’t say anything but I could tell she was getting turned on by his presence.
We stopped for lunch in a lovely little pub miles away from anywhere. Another place where he was well known. He seemed to have lots of friends and acquaintances all over the place. We were treated royally and Jo and I managed at least a bottle and a half of wine as he only drank sparingly so we were a little bit tipsy when we set off. So Jo and I ended up squeezed in the back giggling and laughing until I suddenly realised that we had to get some shoes for tonight. We got to the hotel about 4 o’clock so, after we booked in, Jo and I went out leaving Mike in the bar.
‘We’ve got to get some shoes for tonight,’ I whispered to him, ‘we were wearing the bedroom slippers at home and I don’t think that they would go down too well at dinner,’ I added laughing.
‘Don’t worry,’ he said, ‘I’ll knock for you at 7:30 that way you can make and entrance as most people go down at 7:00. See you later,’ and he kissed me. As we were in the hotel foyer at the time you can imagine that we got a few stares. I thought dinner would be interesting!
We managed to get some shoes, not too high, to wear with our dresses and now we had time to look at our room, or should I say suite. We had a sitting room, and bedroom with two enormous double beds, and a lovely big balcony that looked almost directly into the sunset. The bathroom was big as well and we had towels, bathrobes and slippers all provided. We both got in the big bath and afterwards, dressed only in bathrobes, sat on the balcony and watched the sun sinking into the west. It was beautiful. Time to get ready. We both made a really special effort to look gorgeous. Jo did anyway in her dress and the broach and earrings Mike had given her made her look even lovelier. Her hair framed her face and the dress, of course, showed almost every contour of her body.
‘I feel like a hussy in this,’ she said, ‘should I really wear this to dinner. Won’t he be embarrassed?’
‘I don’t think so,’ I said, ‘he knows how you look in that and he suggested that you wear it tonight. Its for your birthday after all.’
‘You look lovely as well,’ she said, ‘that pendant suits you so well.’ I was wearing the pendant he gave me last Sunday and the matching earrings. My dress wasn’t quite as revealing as Jo’s but it certainly didn’t hide any of my good points, showing off my bottom very well.
He called at 7:30 on the dot and we went down to dinner. As we approached the dining room the head waiter came up, I thought he looked familiar, and said, ‘Buona notte, signor Mike. I have your table as ordered.’
‘Grazie, Franco,’ he said, ‘Lena, meet Franco, Silvio’s brother. Franco this is Caroline and her friend, Joanna.’
He looked at me and smiled, ‘Silvio is not telling lie when he say you are beautiful Caroline, I am pleased to meet you. And you, signorina Joanna are beautiful also, it is good to meet you. Your signor is a very lucky man.’
We both smiled sweetly at him and hung one each on Mike’s arm as he led us into the dining room which was almost full. I could feel lots of eyes on us perhaps trying to figure out our relationship. I could sense some of the men ogling us and some of the women tut, tutting so I stopped, bent down and fixed my shoe then up again and kissed Mike on the cheek. He laughed as we stopped in the middle of the room, ‘Come sweethearts,’ he said fairly loudly, ‘dinner first,’ and kissed us both. I realised that he could play this game better than both of us because this made us both blush which in turn made Jo even lovelier (blushing doesn’t do much for me).
Franco sat us down at a lovely table looking out over the sea so that we could look out at the view and back into the room. On the plates at our seats was a small gift-wrapped package.
‘Presents,’ he said, ‘for beautiful women to wear.’
We opened them and inside were two of the most beautiful bracelets, one matching Jo’s brooch, the other my pendant.
‘Oh it’s lovely,’ said Jo, ‘what have I done to deserve this?’ she added archly.
‘Nothing as yet,’ he said loud enough for a few tables to hear, and then more intimately, ‘It’s some more birthday present to make up for Wednesday.’
‘Thank you,’ she said, leant over and kissed him.
While this was going on I put mine on, god knows how much they cost and when did he get them? ‘What’s mine for?’ I asked coyly.
‘Because I love you,’ he said simply looking at me with all blue eyes. I started to cry. I just wanted to hold him so tight, we weren’t in a restaurant at that moment, just somewhere together. Oh how I loved him.
He got up and gave me his handkerchief, ‘Don’t forget,’ he whispered, ‘crying is not good for mascara.’
I reached up and kissed him, ‘I love you,’ I whispered back. I dabbed at my face with his hankie and looked at Jo who was watching us with love in her eyes.
She smiled, ‘Not too much damage,’ she said with a laugh and with that dinner began.
I was quite a long meal with lots to drink, the food was marvellous and the service, with Franco looking after us specifically, was wonderful. Afterwards we went to the bar where a small combo was playing music and a few people were dancing on the small dance floor. We got some drinks and sat down listening to the music when the leader spoke into the microphone, ‘We have a young lady named Joanna here today who has just celebrated her birthday so this is for her.’ They played a couple of bars of ‘Happy Birthday’ and then went into ‘Love walked right in’. I knew that Mike had arranged this as Gershwin was one of his favourite composers. Jo looked at him wistfully and smiled her gorgeous smile. After this the leader again went to the mike and said, ‘And now a tune for a lady who I am told is the most beautiful here, Caroline, and the bonus is, I can sing this one by Charles Aznavour, ‘She’.’ I knew this song too, so I knew it was Mike. I kissed him deeply and started to cry again, he says things with songs. They get right to the point he says and the music embellishes the meaning.
The rest of the evening was wonderful. We each had a little dance. We had to drag him to the floor, he said he wasn’t much of a dancer and, sadly, that’s true, he wasn’t but we got round. He took us back to our room about midnight and he kissed Jo goodnight at the door and she went inside.
‘Stay,’ I said, ‘I want you tonight. And I think Jo does too. Please stay.’
‘No, Lena. It’s still not fair on Jo. Not fair on any of us really. Don’t you think I want to,’ he laughed, ‘I’ve never been with two woman at once: bit of a fantasy really. Seriously, yes I do want to but I don’t want to hock the future. Go in and make love to Jo, it’s her birthday treat, make it good for her. We’ll discuss the future later.’
I pouted at him but he wasn’t going to change his mind, I knew that, so I gave him a big kiss to show him what he was missing and he left with a smile on his face, ‘See you at 8:00 for breakfast. Enjoy yourself,’ he said as he disappeared.
Jo was sitting on the balcony in her dressing gown when I came back into the room. It was still warm despite being past midnight. ‘I asked him again to stay,’ I said, ‘but he wouldn’t. Said it was unfair to all of us especially you. Do you know what he told me to do?’
‘No,’ she said, ‘but I’ll guess.’
‘
Go on then, what did he tell me to do?’
‘He told you to make love to me didn’t he?’
‘How did you know that?’ I asked astonished, ‘You must have overheard.’
‘No,’ she said smiling up at me, ‘I think I’m beginning to understand him. Of course he won’t stay with us. This is a hotel. I bet he thinks of hotels as places for secret assignations not somewhere you have a one night stand with someone you love and he loves you Caroline, loves you very much. I can see that when he looks at you. I think that he likes me, he kisses me like it and I know I like him but I agree with him. Here would not be the right place for the three of us to begin our journey together.
‘I can’t believe what a wonderful day and evening he’s given us, it has certainly made up for Wednesday and these bracelets, they must have cost the earth they’re so beautiful.’
‘But how did you know he would say that to me. I don’t understand.’
‘Because today was MY day, for my birthday. All this was for me wasn’t it. Of course for you as well but primarily for me. He doesn’t feel ready to come in here and make love to me himself so he would suggest that you do it, for my birthday, don’t you see?’
And I did. I could see that this three sided relationship was going to be interesting, fun and very stimulating. I went back into the room, undressed and returned to the balcony.
‘Jo,’ I said pensively, ‘I’ve been thinking.’
‘Oh dear, what now?’
‘No, listen. You haven’t been with Mike on your own yet have you,’ she raised her eyebrows questionably, ‘no,’ I laughed, ‘not like that. I mean together for a meal or something so that you can get to know each other a bit better. What do you think?’
‘Mmm, it would be nice to get to know him a little better before we go the whole hog, as it were. What are you thinking?’
‘Well, I’ve got to work all next week so I won’t be able to see him on Tuesday as usual. How about you go out to lunch with him instead, you’re off Tuesday aren’t you?’
‘Yes, I am,’ she was obviously considering it, ‘I think I’d like that. Do you mind, won’t you be jealous?’
I laughed, ‘I’m over that, I told you. I’m not jealous of you and Mike. In fact I can’t wait to see the two of you together, and take part myself,’ I added.
‘OK,’ she said, ‘will you talk to Mike about it?’
‘Yes, I’ll arrange it on Sunday. He’s sure to want to and I know you will really enjoy yourself in his company. He’s so different from all the other men we’ve ever been out with.’
I looked at her again, sitting there, the light from the room highlighting her hair and I realised how much I loved her. The night air on my body was cool but stimulating. She looked over to me and I said lovingly, ‘Happy birthday. I love you,’ and I kissed her, ‘come to bed, let’s make love.’
‘Yes,’ she replied kissing me back, ‘Let’s make love.’ So we did.
The next morning we both awoke completely refreshed. Jo had not woken at all during the night, I know because I cuddled her for most of it. We showered and were ready when Mike knocked to take us to breakfast.
‘I’ve booked this room all day,’ he said, ‘so you can use all the facilities of the hotel, including the roof top pool, until we leave. It’s going to be a lovely day so I’m going to sit by the pool after breakfast.’
‘That’s great,’ I said and to Jo, ‘let’s go shopping and get a swimsuit.’ So after breakfast off we went shopping and both bought swimsuits. Mine was a one-piece (I’m afraid my shape doesn’t look good in a bikini) but I persuaded Jo to buy one. It looked fabulous on her. We also bought some new underwear. I got this lovely silky thing that was nearly see-through, it’s called a ‘teddy’ (why I don’t know). It felt really sexy and comes off very easily. I was going to wear it for Mike the next day. I didn’t manage to persuade Jo to buy anything today, but her camisole would certainly do the trick when necessary!
When we got back to the hotel we went straight to our room and changed into swimsuits then strolled up to the rooftop pool. Mike was laying on a lounger dressed in his swimsuit. I must say that he cut quite a figure, there wasn’t much fat on him and he looked quite impressive. We strolled over to him and each sat beside him chattering away about our shopping.
