Joseki’s Journeys, Sword Brother
I walked in to my tavern later that afternoon to find that the circus was in full swing as usual. Upon my heels slipped in two slaves. Both of which are pretty fun girls, although in my book talia needs the attention from others.
Mintar the trader was in full swing on his sales pitch. “Are you looking for something in particular?”
He was speaking to Tanthor our resident leather worker.
“I am in need of a couple of new tankards’’ Replied Tanthor
“Any kind in particular?” Asked Mintar
“Nah, something simple that will hold a fair amount of cold ale.” Tanthor replied still talking to Mintar
Mintar hmmed to himself. “I have a nice wooden one you might like.”
Mintar walked outside to his cart and looked through his collection of tankards. He smiles as he finds the one he is looking for. He closed his wagon and walked back in and stepped over to Tanthor He extends His hand with the tankard in it and said.
‘Here you go, try this one’
Tanthor liked it and they quickly agreed upon a price. Both then settled in to giving the mug a proper breaking in.
Daro the builder was just tacking some boards over the trap door I have set up by the entrance. I stopped and looked this over wondering why he was doing it. I mean it was my trapdoor after all. I then noticed he was soaking wet. A sure sign that he’d fallen down the trap door. Which explained why he was tacking it shut. I watched him for a few minutes and he kept glancing over at Mintar so I knew who the culprit was.
He finished and with a curt nod to us left the tavern.
With a deep sigh I went and got a crowbar and began prying up the boards.
talia glided quietly towards the Tavern knowing she was going be in deep trouble for coming looked shoulder and pondered the punishment vs. the reward and decided to go in. She slipped in under the batwing doors and knelt for a second letting her eyes adjust to the dark tavern.
“Taaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa.” Cin squirmed in her spot on the slave furs as Talia entered.
Cin ran over and pounced on talia hugging and kissing her madly.
Atsila my favorite Panther Girl stalked in bout then. She mumbled under her breath a little, discreetly reaching down to scratch her rask and murmuring about itching powder. Her stomach growling a bit but she seemed to be ignoring it as she shoved past my batwing door, sidestepping to the right and eyeing the room and all of us. She found her usual seat by the door and with her back to the wall. She didn’t say a word as was her way and I knew when she was comfortable she’d speak.
I heard a soft scraping noise outside and looked up just as zia snuck up to my batwing doors and peeked inside the door a moment. She flashed an impish grin before slithering fully inside. I watched her softly rounded hips sway to and fro in a sensual rhythm as she made her way towards the serving furs. As she melted down upon them I heard her whisper in a soft tone.
“May zia greet please?”
“Hiya zia.” Whispered cinamin, Imanja’s slave.
I looked over to the girl and waved her over to me. I had a few questions for zia.
“Come here and whisper to me zia.”
talia looked over to zia and grimaced thinking that zia was in trouble.
Another slave called maylah asked. “Should I leave Master?”
“No not at all.” I had to admit I wondered why she wanted to leave.
maylah nodded and seeing me right beside the doorway she crawled a little to her right and knelt before me. Upon hearing what the Master has told her she crawls quietly to the slave mats to observe*
“Greetings maylah, how are you?” asked cin.
“Greetings zia, talia. Come over here talia.” Mistress Imanja rumbled
Talial didn’t look very repentant as she replied “I can’t Mistress, I’ll get in more trouble.”
“Thank You Mistress Imanja, so very nice to see you.” Replied zia in her good girl voice.
zia looked over to talia in surprise but said nothing.
“NOW talia!” Imanja thundered
There was a girlish “Eep!” from cin as Imanja said this.
“Tal Atsila.” Tanthor said in his gravely voice.
Atsila nodded to Tanthor.
“Tal.”
Cin cast an alarmed glance at her Mistress and hurried back to kneel by her feet, As zia knelt beside me looked up at me with those nice brown eyes as she said “zia offers You her warm greetings sexy Master Joseki Ko. and prays YOU are well and good.” “Dammit!” snapped Imanja as she slumped to her feet. “talia to me, now! Move it girl/” talia shook her head moving her hand to the collar on her neck I could see cin tremble as she sat there remembering that tone.” DeMonessa chose that...
“Why are people stupid enough to fuck with things that don’t belong to them?” he claimed loudly. Zia sat there holding the boards tight and peeked up at me as his voice carried into the tavern. I knew he was talking about those of us in the tavern he said it loud enough so that we could all here. I thought our previous chat had gone pretty well so I was rather confused about why he was here and so obviously upset. .* Red Hawk hoped down from his kaiila getting his crutches and hobbled in to...
I stood up so I could get a better look around my new home. It was a dark purple mist that was behind something glass looking, while the floor was a deep navy blue. The walls domed up, into a central point easily a hundred feet above my head. To my left was a giant projection, showing the inside of a large green tent. Directly in front of the camera was a table a sandwich and some papers on it. The camera moved, and a hand reached out from the camera and picked up a new pen to the camera's...

Els looked up and then up some more, "This isn't a country! It's a mountain range cleverly disguised as a forest." The little dwarf guiding their horses turned his head slightly--the gesture politely acknowledged Els's words. The dwarf did not speak, which made learning his body language pivotal to their conversations. "I did not expect to be sent to Mai as my first service to the Goddess." In her bed at Gallis, Els held on to the hope of a punitive expedition into Hokubu for the...
"Are you sure of this Beldaru? I couldn't get this sword to work before, why should it obey me now?" "Because you, Eadul, are descended from kings. He is just some northern farmer who found a sword in the woods. If it is one of ours you will be able to master it, and if it isn't, there is no reason that you can't master it then either. He did. That man was lying to you about how the magic works, and so were the priestesses. They don't want men to think that they have magic in them --...
The surviving members of Tobsil's family spent that winter living in the new barn beside the livestock. That was not unusual in itself, on small farms a longhouse was built large enough for both the family and the animals, but in this case the new barn had not been built with people in mind. It was not insulated as well as their original longhouse, and the larger size made it difficult for the open fire to keep much of it warm. Luckily, the grain from the harvest and the hay from the summer...
I was sitting on the deck, with my legs spread, holding the injured woman's head in my lap. Kip had also been resting, leaning back on his hands as he rested. So neither of us could reach our weapons quickly enough to defend ourselves. I debated for only a millisecond before searching out what Anna had thought was their motor cortex and tweaking it slightly. The female trooper immediately dropped her sword, collapsing to the deck beside me. "It must have been the adrenalin," I thought as...
Blood Sword by Eddie Glover Brenlan felt the familiar twinge in his body. He reached for the sword he'd brought back from the east, the sword to which he was cursed. "That's a hell of a sword!", the bartender whistled in admiration. Brenalan turned with a frown, "You have no idea of it's strangeness or powers my friend.". He could now feel the sword's pull and the beginnings of his own change. "Help!", a woman screamed from outside. "Damn! It's about time I was...
I decided to take this shortcut I had found toward the end of last year. It was through this alley half a block from my apartment, and it cut down the time to get to school easily by ten minutes, making my tardiness not seem so bad. As I sprinted through the alley with my backpack bouncing awkwardly against my back, I tripped over a hard, metal object that cut through my shoe and went into my foot, leaving a small gash where it entered. A little blood dripped out, but it wasn't too bad. I...
Blood Sword 2 by Eddie Glover Brenlan watched from the shadows as the men he'd been tracking approached a lone woman. He'd long suspected that these men were mercenaries, just the kind of scum he'd been looking for. The sword began to vibrate in his hand, letting him know that it would soon be needing the blood he so often gave it. Should he fail to appease the blade he would become a buxom woman of whorish looks. "I have no quarrel with you.", the woman said as the mercs...
"WHAT THE BLOODY HELL?" Hermione screamed as she dove off of Harry. He absently noticed that her hand was still covered with her own spittle and his pre-cum. "Please, don't stop on my account," Gryffindor's ghost implored. "Continue. Pretend I'm not here." "Is that..." began Hermione as she crouched in the corner while clutching her half-opened blouse in front of her. "Is that Godric Gryffindor?" "See that?" Gryffindor said to Harry. "She didn't take a kip...

(Seikuu throws open the door to the shrine. The sword, in a plain wooden sheath, sits before an altar.) Seikuu (thinking): "I made swords to build a new era"... I never accepted the words my father spoke long ago. Now I finally understand. It's presumptuous to think a sword can build an era. A new era is made by people. And to the one who protects the era he built, who continues to fight from the shadows to protect the peace, I will give my father's sword--! Chou: I'm not going to take...
Harry Potter and the Sword of Gryffindor Chapter One -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- As the sun crept into the smallest bedroom in the house at # 4 Privet Drive, Harry Potter fought the urge to wake up. Harry was having a nice pleasant dream. He dreamt that he was sitting on the shore of the ocean with his feet in the cool water, while reading a book about lighthouses. Two odd things about the dream stood out for Harry. The...
Chou: That cross-shaped scar... you must be the famous Hitokiri Battousai. Iori: Gojaru!! Chou: You're smaller than I thought. Like a girl. Oh well. You here for the sword too? Kenshin: Unfortunately, I seek a different sword. If you're here for the last work of Shakkuu, go and take it. Only give back the child first. Chou: You want to avoid an unnecessary fight? Could be. Or it could be that with your trusty reverse blade broken, you can't fight like you want to. Well, it wouldn't be...
A drop of sweat stung my right eye, and I blinked to clear it. I dared not do anything more as I stared at the three men a few paces away. I held my sword in the high guard position, and a drop of blood fell from the tip. The blood’s donor lay near my feet, where he’d collapsed after I’d stabbed him through the throat. The leader, a burly human, bared his mouthful of rotten teeth at me. “It would have been easier for you if you had just given up. Now, we will make you pay for my friend’s...
To prove that Wilhan hadn't lied about killing the dragon, he and his brothers showed up at the roped-off area wearing upper body armor made out of the beast's scaly skin. Lorgar showed up with a full face helmet, chain mail, and metal greaves, leaving only his knees and a small part of his thighs vulnerable. Overtop of his mail shirt he wore the wolf skin cloak that signified he was a berserker allied to a chief. Most berserkers only wore a bearskin or wolfskin into battle with nothing but...
Hank stood next to the bed and looked at a sleeping Jacquilt. "Did I do that to him?" a worried Hank whispered to Virlane and Rav. "You didn't, the the sword and the return did, we won't know what happened until he wakes up, perhaps he doesn't even know." Virlane sent Hank and Rav off to get some rest, he doubted though that Hank would rest much, the energy was still pouring off him in waves and he couldn't seem to stand still. Hank walked into the dining room, surprised to see the...
The spring festival on the Juxan southern frontier was unusual that year because there were two brides below the customary age when women in the tribe married. Ethanda was one, and a girl of high birth named Henna was the second. Women of the tribe rarely married until they were twenty or older. It was thought that big strong women gave birth to big strong warriors. Men were similarly constrained by their society. They could not go to war until they were at least eighteen, and they rarely...
"You may get up Sally," moving the crosses from between her legs. Sally allowed her legs to close, grateful that the painful aching in her thighs were finished, but fearful of what would be required of her now. She knew that she would have to make him shoot his demon seed. He had talked about her taking her communion, not understanding what he meant. She laid still, her legs together. She was afraid of what would happen when she pulled her chest off the tacks. Her panties were still pulled...
Copyright© 1997-2003 Said a madam named Mamie La Farge To a sailor just off of a barge, "We have one girl that's dead, With a hole in her head-- Of course there's a slight extra charge." The damned Saxons had taken a toll this day. Nearly all of their warriors had fallen to our swords and spears. It had been a fine day for blood letting, one that proved that the gods had not abandoned us. It would take until after this winter before they had another raiding party come out of...
Okina: One of Shakkuu's killing swords! Misao: Watch out, Himura! He's still got a hidden sword! (The long blade whips around to strike at Kenshin from behind.) Chou: This is my favorite blade of all! The killing sword Hakujin no Tachi!(1) Okina: It's long! Misao: Himura! (Kenshin ducks a little to the side.) Seikuu: That won't work! Just dodging by a hair's breath won't-- (Chou snaps his wrist; the point snakes down and buries itself in Kenshin's thigh.) Chou: Right on...
We arose before dawn; washed, dressed and had a quick breakfast. The stable was quiet, so we didn't have any interruptions to get our horses ready for the day's travel. When we approached the front of the inn; an absolutely huge man advanced us on with a cudgel in his paw lumbering straight for us. I figured that nothing good was going to come of this. It looked like Simon had his arm wrapped in a soiled bandage, and he was loping behind his father. "Keep back and let me handle this,...
Raijuuta: Are you of this dojo? Kenshin: No... I'm staying at the Kamiya Kasshin dojo just now. Raijuuta: Really... such a skilled swordsman is a vagabond? No matter. I ask for a match. With true swords. (Kenshin unsheathes his sword.) Raijuuta (thinking): A reverse blade... Kenshin: I will not draw merely to compare swords or show off. Nor to display them. The killer's sword is forbidden to me. Raijuuta: So that's the way it is. Yutarou. Yutarou: Yes sir. Raijuuta: Remove this...
Arngeirr was crouching close to the forest floor as he skulked along the trail, stalking his prey. His hands were dirty, mud and moss clung to his Banded Iron Armour, his long golden blonde hair hung over his face, damp with sweat. He sniffed the air and swivelled around on his feet to face north. He had her sent. Quickly but lightly, he sprinted through the forrest towards Riverwood, making little noise he jumped from a fallen log and climbed a tall oak tree until, halfway up, he rested...
Each night as the column proceeded towards the river, Wilhan and his men tried to train the others in the new tactics. Some were willing but most weren't. The attempt did enable Wilhan to separate out a few specialty squads, and most of the warriors did see the value in holding the shield line together during the initial charge, or at least they said they did when Lord Edbil, who was nominally in charge of the small army, announced that no one was allowed to go to the aid of any man who...
Picture this. You’re just laying down and heading to bed when you wake up in the middle of the forest with a half-dressed, strange fairy girl forcing you to grab her tits and telling you something about a sacred sword. You discover that your sacred sword is actually your dick and that you have to stick it into as many female warriors’ pussies across the land in order to awaken their true power so that they can defeat the evil Mistress of Night who is wreaking havoc across the land. Oh, and the...
Best Porn Games"Wil!" "You're home!" Henna and Marin ran across the yard and threw themselves in their husband's arms. "Where's the other one, What's-Her-Name?" "Inside with your new baby daughter." Marin said "I bet she's not happy about that." "She won't admit it. We kid her that, because of all of your seed that that she swallowed, her little Wilhanina will be a great shield maiden one day." "Wilhanina?" "She insisted." Henna said. Wilhan rolled his eyes. They went into the...
Jian Mei was born in a town near a military fortress of the Great Zi Dynasty, ruler of the Purple Province located in the Nine Provinces Continent. Her family wasn't too rich yet also not too poor, allowing for Mei a fairly decent childhood when considering a commoner status, but unluckily for her such good times didn't last forever. Being located at the border between the Purple, Blue and Azure provinces, Mei's home town was considered to be in a somewhat dangerous position yet for years it...
(Raijuuta brings the sword down. They scatter out of the way.) Yutarou (thinking) No... Sensei!! The secret sword Izuna with a real sword! You were going to kill him and you didn't even care! Sanosuke: A sudden attack from behind, at night. Now we see what you're really like. Yutarou: No, that was just a greeting! That wasn't serious! Was it, sensei! (Raijuuta, ignoring him, looks to Kenshin.) Yutarou: Sensei... Kenshin: Stand back, Miss Kaoru. (The fight begins. As Raijuuta...
Joseki’s Journeys 3. Fighter Practice Tonight marked my third journey into the land of GCN Gor. I’ve come to find it to be an interesting mix of people. Some of the same people are there and I find it nice to be looked for. When I played on the Isle of Gor I saw always the same people and not many new faces. On GCN Gor I’ve seen quite a mix, both new and old. The new ones tend to be just as much fun as the old. Well last night I finally got to try my hand at combat. I ran into Taima again...
I continued down the hill following the stream until it abruptly fell off the side of a short cliff. The sheer face didn't even have any vegetation just a few exposed rocks. The risk of injury from sliding against the jagged rocks seemed too high. I needed to find a different way down. Choosing another path to follow I ended up climbing a few hundred feet. All the while trying to keep the stream within hearing distance. Near the bottom of the hill, I spotted an old overgrown path. The...
"Do you live by the lake?" I thought that I knew how to get there from here. "It's on the other side of the lake. Gamma's farm is easy to find." That caused her tears to start up again, but she looked like they were not going to overcome her this time. "Is that where you lived?" She shook her head no. I helped her mount my new horse, then grabbed its reins and started off in the direction of the lake. "How did you end up with the slavers?" "They attacked my father's farm and...
Here I am once again broke. The port of Summers Kiss is a beautiful place, but not for a sell sword in times of peace. Don’t get me wrong, peace is great, but I am in desperate need of a job. Summers Kiss is a bustling city on the west coast of the kingdom of Aereon. Full of merchant ships coming in with goods from all over the world. Silks from the far east across the ocean, furs from the northern cities of Wintervale where the orcs dwell in the mountains and fine jewelry from the southern...
The year is 5017 in Old Terran Time(OTT) or more precisely 2051 in Union Standard Time (UST). The United Stars of the Galaxies now commonly referred to as the Union is a huge multi cultural society consisting of over five thousand members. The Union is spread across the M-0 galaxy, know to Terran Humans as the Milky Way galaxy, parts of the Andromeda galaxy and several satellite galaxies of the local group. This is the next part of my story, I had begun to tell in the previous part. While...
“When you are up to it, meet me at the training grounds.” She nodded and I went outside to ask directions. I thought that the grounds might be near the barracks and was proven correct by one of Allard’s men. I had been resting to recover as much of my strength before I started exerting myself again and thought that enough time had passed for me to return to my normal training regimen. I began stretching and continued until I felt comfortable enough to start working hard. Micro-focusing on a...
Off in the distance I could barely make out a group of three barns flanking a house. The barns were painted a faded red and the house was whitewashed. As we skirted around a plowed field that seemed to be growing wheat, I noticed that the main house was much larger than Kira's. This one also had a small shed that was just off to the east and one just off to the west of the main house with the main house facing us to the south. For reference directions I was using earth standard. I know that...
I called to the ladies in the house to come out and assist the slaver with the sliced leg and bring some rawhide to tie up the one that was knocked out. The rest I was sure were dead or almost dead. Kira brought me my scabbard and some bread. I pointed to the unconscious slaver; "Thanks. Make sure that you tie his wrists and his ankles tightly, if he starts to wake let me know if you haven't finished tying him up yet." I walked over to the slaver with the massive gash across his left leg....
"What about my sword? It cuts through everything and it glows." "If you say so, My Lord, but your sword doesn't glow. It is you that glows," Chandra responded. She thought for a second and then continued, "Does your sword cut through everything or do you enhance your strength to cut through your target?" I thought about that. She was probably right on that one she knew more about magic than I did. I enhanced my strength whenever I fought. Come to think of it, I enhanced my stamina...
(Leaves drift over the battlefield as Kenshin stands at the ready.) Houji (thinking): He... he stood up. No... calm down, all he's doing is standing. It's highly doubtful he still has the strength to use the succession technique Amakakeru Ryuu no Hirameki. The burns of the Homura Dana and the explosion of the Guren Kaina... it's obvious he won't survive. Lord Shishio is too strong for him... And yet... this chill! this unease! this fear! (Kenshin roars, sending out a blast of ki that...
“My Lord, it is time to wake up.” Bah. Chandra’s hair was already brushed with a freshly washed face, my student bubbled with anticipation for today’s journey, “Did you order breakfast for us?” She was ready to go home. “Yes, My Lord, we are all waiting on you.” She gave me a devilish smile. It seemed that one of us had a very good night’s sleep. “Fine, let me wash and I’ll meet you down stairs.” I took the puzzle box with me, I wasn’t about to let it disappear during my ablutions or...
I went out of my way to act like nothing happened the night before with Chandra. She mostly relaxed during breakfast and seemed to let go my teasing her from the previous night until I told her that I needed to check her wounds. She blanched at that. I led her into the carriage and pulled the curtains closed. I peeled the bandage off her face first. It looked like a week old scratch that so far had healed cleanly. I readied one of the bandages that she had brought and replaced the dressing...
“You are a Sword Saint.” Sister Emily accused me. I am? “I was accused of being one when I first arrived by two old men on a porch, I didn’t know what one was but it sounded right whereas being called a Wizard Lord didn’t feel right.” “I could be. It sounds right, but I don’t know what one is. Remember, I am still new here and not all that familiar with the religions on this world. Hell, I wasn’t even all that familiar with the religions on my world. Just the basics. And I am definitely...
"I may not." The Arbiter said sadly. I just stared at her, incredulous. "Then I will." I sheathed my sword and knelt beside the fallen priestess, her hands were covering the wound over her stomach. There was blood pooling from her stomach, and I could see the pain that she was in. I placed my hands on her blood soaked ones and stared into her eyes. "Let me heal you." She shook her head no. "There is no shame in losing, just in giving up without trying. Let me heal you, Priestess of...
I was glad of the short ride back. The same soldier that brought me the horse met me when I returned. He asked solicitously about my ride, not even mentioning the different livery of the horse. "I'll leave it up to you to return this horse and get yours back. Oh, and soldier, thank him for me would you. I was not in the best of tempers when I left." "Yes, Milord," the soldier responded and mounted the horse that I just left. I walked around the house to the exercise yard and knelt,...
On a cold, cold snowy day, two emotions were frozen. Sorrow--and hatred. Now that fifteen years have passed, those two emotions, still frozen, lie beneath one smiling face-- (Kenshin and Enishi cross swords.) Enishi (sinking into a low stance): Let's do this, Battousai! Sanosuke: Low stance-- Megumi: He's going into the Kofuku? Watoujutsu Senran Tousei! (Kenshin dodges and parries a storm of blows.) Kaoru: Kenshin! (Enishi drives Kenshin back towards the treeline.) Enishi: Die,...
After a year leading my company through several battles on several worlds and attending the six month Advanced Officer School, I was going back to the Swords. I walked off the shuttle and glanced at the top sergeant that came to attention, “Welcome back Major.” I nodded and glanced around again before starting towards the far terminal doorway, “I did not get a briefing packet. Who is in command now?” The sergeant fell in beside me, “Colonel Winston.” I nodded and looked at the man beside...
Without sight, she started to scan the area with her hearing. Somewhere there was the sounds of logs popping from a fire, but she wasn’t close enough to feel it’s warmth. She couldn’t hear birds or night time bugs, so she had to be inside. This was confirmed when from behind her she hear sharp steps on stone, coming closer and louder until they stopped. She heard metal ringing, keys most likely, and soon a heavy door opened and the steps moved into Gwenive's room. “You are awake.” A woman’s...
Hope you enjoy. Dafomir was certainly one of the unlucky members of the Horde, having been chosen to participate in the campaign on Argus it meant certain death for many. He had been chosen however because he was one of the strongest Blood Elven paladins the Horde had. Dafomir had a lot of confidence in his abilities though and the possiblity that he could die here hadn't even entered his mind, thinking that as long as his leaders strategised properly there was no way he could be taken down...
“What is it, Sigurd?” “My Lord,” he responded, turning towards me. He must surely have seen and heard what had just transpired, but he made no mention of it. He and I often disagreed on things, but I could not have asked for a better subordinate. “My Lord, we are clearing the last few houses now. Torstein reports success on the beach, and nobody made it past our archers. What are your orders?” “Finish clearing the houses, but don’t worry about looting the place just yet. We’re...
Introduction: Compulsory bare back by law. The Penis Mightier than the Sword? To mis quote Cardinal Richlieu. But it makes a interesting title. Many years ago when East Virginia became Virginia there was an administrative error and Maidstone County, East Virginia, was left off the list of counties in the new state. They only realised this when the old county records were computerised. Roy Hanks, the local Sheriff takes up the story. Ten years ago we found we found Maidstone County was not...
Celia’s infection cleared up completely a week before we entered the capitol. The scars she wouldn’t let me see but Chandra assured me that they were slowly fading. I knew that I couldn’t wait much longer for a; very long, very hot bath. It had been four days since my last one at a small town’s inn. According to Allard’s writ, he was supposed to take us straight away to the king, but since we didn’t enter the city until after nightfall, he agreed that we could stay at my house until we were...
"Have you told Kira yet?" "She knows." "Have you sent someone to the other steads to warn them of the slavers?" Kira's grandmother just looked at me like I was an idiot. "Mine was the last one attacked, this was a coordinated attack. My granddaughter and I are the only ones left that I can see. If any of the other girls are alive they aren't on their farms." "Can you tell where they are?" "No. I do know that the slavers will be back here soon, and they will come as a group...
We rode at a much faster pace for the remainder of the day. The breaks were shorter, and the time spent walking was cut in half. No complaints came from the girl or from the horses. I still made her keep up her exercises, both mental and physical, for the journey. It was getting to be late afternoon when I noticed that the farms started getting closer together. The terrain was rolling and lush. We did pass one older man on the road, but he scurried off the road and hid before we approached,...
Because of our increased activity, I made sure that we ate very well. This did have a side effect of consuming our food all that much quicker. To alleviate this, whenever we came near a farmer's cart I tried to buy anything that was edible and portable. The farmers, who historically were always short on coin, were ecstatic to sell to me. Since we usually only bought a couple of apples or pears off a cart full of them, we pretty much paid for a bushel and just received the top couple of...
As soon as we were clear of town I picked up our pace. Unfortunately Orlanth was not the best rider, even with instruction. On top of that, Juniper was fast; I had to make sure that we didn't end up miles ahead of the kids without even trying. Orlanth's book was wrapped up and packed on an extra horse that the stable master provided me. The new horse seemed to be more of a plow horse than a riding horse. She did occasionally want to move slower than a brisk walk; otherwise she did not have...
