Grace and I had known each other for a very long time, seventeen years in fact. In all that time, though we’d loved each other for at least fifteen of those years we’d never consummated our love. There were reasons: when we first met, I was married and I loved my wife. Later, by the time my wife’s constant infidelity had destroyed that love, Grace was married and in love.
