Hi-Rize was everything Lila hoped it was. She had saved for months and gotten really close seats. The lead singer seemed to even wink at her during their hit “Love Me”. Some people had gotten blasted with paint, and Lila had been hit with an explosion of glitter while Samantha was in the bathroom but Samantha had been spared so far and Lila didn’t mind as she felt cool looking sparkly.
The sound of thunder played through the speakers and the guitar started strumming the intro to their biggest hit, which would likely be their closing song, “Storm”. Lila closed her eyes and started dancing when all of sudden she felt something wet; water was dripping from the overhead set in beat with the music. Lila thought this was pretty cool but Samantha was dancing in a white shirt and you could start to make out her bra.
Lila was about to warn her friend when the massive guitar solo in the middle hit and then a torrential downpour started and Lila seemed to have gotten the worst of it. In a matter of seconds she was soaked from head to toe where as Samantha was roughly the same amount of wet she had been before the solo. The song wrapped up shortly thereafter the band thanked the fans and they started to leave.

Samantha left the room ending the argument and also knowing Lila would never let her see her naked. The most she’d ever seen was a one piece bathing suit.
Lila sighed knowing Samantha was probably right. She took her night shirt out and put her bag to her side. She looked around not hearing noise and with no one able to see her, took off her soaked through t-shirt. She was going to do this as quickly as possible. She kicked off her flip flops and then pulled down her jeans which might even be ruined as the water seemed to have caused the preexisting rips to become more pronounced.

Lila woke up to loud knocking at the front door. Lila looked at the still snoring Samatha and pulled the covers up to her nose remembering what she was wearing. She heard two voices talking downstairs after the opening of the door. One sounded agitated. Two minutes went by and she was too scared to move. Then the door swung open. It was her mother and she didn’t look happy.
“A 35? A fucking 35? You thought you could have a sleep over after you failed a major test? Get up you need to go Saturday school.”
Samantha stirred and had a “What the fuck?” Look on her face until she realized it was Lila’s mom and was not at all surprised anymore. Lila would call her mom strict but if Samantha could speak freely she would call her a huge bitch.
Lila got out of bed still exhausted from the concert and only 4 or 5 hours of sleep. She was careful to keep her nighty down and her mom grabbed her arm firmly and pulled her toward the door.
“Mom I need to put clothes on.”
“Where are they?”

“They’re being washed. We had a messy dinner.” She lied hastily as they would have no reason to be soaked unless she revealed the concert.
“Then I guess you’re going to school in your night gown.”
“Mom no I can’t! It’ll be humiliating!”
“You could use the humilation! You tried to pull a fast one on your father and I.”
“Can’t we go change at home?”
“No dear you should’ve answered your phone earlier if you wanted that option. You’re not going to be late for Saturday school. You need to make up this grade immediately.”
Lila wasn’t sure what to do but her mom was dragging her to the door.
“quit resisting, girls wear less to school all the time and if it bothers you that much know that you either need to stop lying or stop failing, preferably both.”
