In the land of Pudenda once ruled a mighty queen who was as powerful as she was beautiful. She was loved by her citizens, adored by men and idolized by women. Single lords, princes and kings fought for her hand in marriage and even ladies, princesses and queens dreamed of being her other half. Nonetheless, she had never married nor sought someone to share her bed with. This gave her the nickname "the virgin queen". There were 8 persons that she would let close to her though, 8 women, part her personal guards, part the strongest defenders of the realm. They were known as "the valkyrie" and rumors said that they had supernatural powers. Their beauty was rivaled by non, except the queen. The valkyrie consisted of:
Faye: the unofficial leader of the valkyrie. She had wavy long blond hair and was quite serious and brave. Her weapon of choice was the sword and shield.
Jess: a brunette with short hair and a bashful and fearless attitude. She was the first to jump into a battle and the last to end one. She was never far from her trusted battle axe.
Jenna: the eastern beauty with long, straight black hair and brains of the group. Her tactical insight often led to their victory. She was master of the longbow, but could also handle her dual blades more than ok.
Ravana: twin sister of Raena. Her fiery red long hair was a sign of her fierceness in anything that she did, be it battle, discussion or otherwise. She and her sister both wielded one of the twin lances of Phallus.
Siris: her long, wild black hair and her big warhammer were equally responsible for fear instilled in her enemies. She loved to brawl, loved blood, but both paled next to her love for alcohol.
Raena: twin sister of Ravana. She had fiery red hair like her sister, but wore it short. Raena als had a much more relaxed view of life compared to her sister and was way more lenient in every way possible. She and her sister both wielded one of the twin lances of Phallus.
Lind: this blond, tall woman never was accused of being talkative. In fact, people other than the queen or the other valkyries had never heard her speak. Her enemies call her "the silent death", what in big part is attributed to her surprising quickness and swiftness in handling her greatsword which she can handle as fast as normal people can wield a dagger. Her friends know that outside of battle she is a kind soul that loves nature.
Kris: this darkskinned warrior was a bit of the odd one out as she loved stealth and subterfuge to fight her battles. Also outside of battle Kris wasn't that relaxed, always doubtful, never sure and a bit skittish. She was skilled in daggers, darts, wires, poisons, etc.
Because of their heroics and the fame that followed, the land of Pudenda bathed in the light of peace and prosperity. But in a land of light, shadow also exists. In the land of Pudenda, this shadow consisted of a cult called the followers of Maigoth. Maigoth was a heiden deity that people believed lived off the darkness in humans. The followers of Maigoth were a shrewd bunch and knew how to stay out of the hands of local authorities, including the Valkyries.
Thus the followers have been able to work in the darkness unhindered all this time. Rumors are that they even try to bring their god into this world. But recently, forces of light have uncovered plans that seemingly belonged to the followers and now the valkyrie are on a trail that might lead them to the inner core of the organisation. And this is where our adventure starts.
